WD or The Wild Division Records a new techno label based from Terrassa (BCN) founded trough the collaboration between Spear, DusterTraum and Miki Craven. The label aims to follow a dark moody side of techno music, with simple structures and analog sounds reminiscent the old mid 90's productions. This label is the result of the work of the last three years between this three artists. The label will count with more international artists who will take part with the label signing and remixing further references.

Ilario Alicante might well be best known for his previous releases on big room labels Cocoon and Cecille but preconceptions can be misleading. Here on Sudden Drop we plough a deeper furrow, not ones for hands up in the air shenanigans we prefer to get our heads down on the dancefloor for some serious introspection, which is why this 3 tracker from the Italian born Ilario finds it's way onto our label. 'Echotechno' is indeed a main room slice of stomping techno but with that oh so important moody vibe that we crave here at SD, 'Rouge Dub' on the flip delves deeper with an exceedingly trippy soundscape whilst 'Untitled Drop' rounds things off with a spritely techno groove.

Our Seleccion Natural compilation series is back in shape with this 6th instalment, featuring as always music from our all star team: Oscar Mulero, Exium, Christian Wunsch and Reeko.
Four fine cuts of futuristic techno, each one with its own particular mood and feel.
The release starts with 'Reverberation' by Oscar Mulero; an intense workout beginning with a straight and dark beat, salted with precise sub bass frequencies. The track grows and evolves till FM bass galore takes over and synth drums and white noise infect the arrangement, taking intensity to peak levels.
Exium show their electro side in the second track 'No sign of weakness'. They depart from 4x4 beats on behalf of broken beats with an industrial flavour and the traditional drones, dark atmospheres and moving arrangements they are known for.
Christian Wunsch reveals his darker side in 'Sleeper Cell', based on an enormous kick, side by side with sharp hats, digital percussions and dark and sticky noises.
'Lynx' is Reeko's input into this 12inch. Complex and intricate rhythms, thick textures, multiple layers of drums and a constantly evolving structure; dark and sharp at the same time.
An excellent sample of contemporary techno created by four of the best European producers of the moment. Don't miss it.

Almost two years have gone by since the team at Injected Poison Records launched its previous vinyl record. Now, the label headed by the Spanish artist Jose Pouj brings us its fifth release. Available on vinyl and digital, this issue will be jam-packed with the best and most up-to-date techno, because they have enlisted the most outstanding Spanish producers: Oscar Mulero, Christian Wunsch, Exium and the label's boss himself: Jose Pouj. Side A of The Structure opens with 'Sound Mirror': Oscar Mulero's unmistakable sound envelops a track full of melodic atmospheres, deep percussion, synths that come and go... All wrapped in reverbs that are impossible to describe. A great work by our great master Oscar Mulero. Side A's second track is 'Mutation', brought to us by Christian Wunsch, a Cantabrian born in Monaco who is behind Tsunami Records. This is a classic 4x4 track with a relentless bass line and never ending atmospheres that verge on darkness. Pure Wunsch sound. On the flipside we can listen to 'Repeating Future'. The first track of the B side is a work by Asturian duo Exium, whom we also know as Hector Sandoval and Valentin Corujo. This track is slightly different from what we are accustomed to hear from these producers: a great and dynamic structure which is innovating, whilst retaining the characteristic sound of the duo. The EP closes with 'The Structure': produced by Jose Pouj, the label's chief, this track is loaded with forcefulness and a very well processed action. Sharp percussions and progressive filters take the centre stage in this great synth exercise, where the dense bass line helps to produce an exquisite end result. This production definitely adds up to the curriculum of this contender to the European techno dance floors. In a nutshell, this is a fantastic EP made up of the best sounds of the moment.

Multiple Visions - AD TD :: Another debut collaboration, Three of Manchester's finest techno producers provide a claustrophobic and moody track for the B side. Born out of a WW2 air raid shelter the brutal yet hypnotic track relives Manchester's industrial past. Pushing the bottom end to its limit with the aggressive drums, well arranged percussion and sinister synth line accents take multiple visions to the very depths of the human soul.

Two years have passed since his release at Sandwell District and after his remix contribution to Sawf's Sand EP, Belgian producer, Yves De Mey, returns to Modal Analysis with a two-track EP. The first track allures the listener to an abstract heavy sound, whereas, the second track follows a more distinct rhythmic structure. Both tracks create an atmospheric environment with the use of modular sounds. The EP wraps up with a Shifted club remix of the first track.

Quite probably our favourite pair of releases from Dominick Fernow's lesser known alias Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, 'The Plant With Many Faces' and 'Folklore Venom' are now available on vinyl for the first time, following on from an excellent LP for Blackest Ever Black and 12'for Bed of Nails. The project has become one of Fernow's most intriguing, offering an artificial, unnerving take on both Ambient and more propulsive electronic music, in turns reminding us of everything from Selected Ambient Works Vol.II to John Carpenter, Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack, Leyland Kirby, classic Chain Reaction, Demdike Stare and, of course, Fernow's own myriad productions under various aliases. For the most part, the project has been an experiment in tonal dread and dankest atmospheres, but on 'Folklore Venom' rhythms play a more prominent role, pacing anxiously below the dense murk of 'Upside Down Left Eye' or as a stodgy techno bedrock to the inclement conditions of 'The Spirit Wore The Shoes Of The Boy', or a sputtering, diesel powered chug to the noxious vibes of 'Black Magic Originated In Nature'. Factor the petrifying gloom of 'Spirit Companion Sick-Bed' and the unheimlich, exotic sonic ciphers of 'Malaysia Yellow Herbs' and you have one of the strongest releases on Hospital Productions yet.

Die düstere Atmosphäre des ersten Tracks - Range' verströmt mit Hilfe von gezielten Akzenten und Sounds eine Stimmung, die aus einer fernen Zukunft zu stammen scheint. Die Reise geht mit - Iso' in subterrane Tiefen weiter - ein unerbittlicher Beat zieht stoisch seine Bahnen und gibt den einzigen Anhalt in der fauchenden Dunkelheit.
Auf der B-Seite - Push' schraubt sich ein vielschichtiges, artifizielles Vocal empor, das von strengen Beats und HiHats langsam aber sicher in den Wahnsinn getrieben wird. For the second installment of our Brood Techno series, we decided to do something a little different and outside the box. We at Brood Audio believe in order to excel one needs to get out of their comfort zone and take risks. That is exactly what Erphun envisioned when he decided to pair up his artists and have them collaborate on a new track for the compilation.
To our delight, all artists involved immersed themselves into the project with a positive attitude and enthusiasm.

Thru the prism of his favoured BugBrand Modular system - handmade by Bristol's Tom Bug - the four tracks of his 'Raven Yr Own Worl' EP patch a lattice of reference ports between Radiophonic experimentation, bedroom electronica, classic dub production techniques, and the not-so-distant spirits of halcyon UK rave music His 'Self-Perpetuating Fun Loop' is razor-sharp acid funk in the tradition of Luke Vibert and the Rephlex hordes, and 'Fluorescent City Shining City' a deftly playful piece of acid dub strut recalling early Two Lone Swordsmen. His bleep techno tribute 'Euphoric Nihilism' is possibly the most intricate and evocative number, also flashing glimpses of 'ardcore whistles and EBM in its tightly coiled matrix, whilst 'Adventures Unventured, Tenderness Untendered' is a blissed steppers' kiss off meeting digi-dub and misty-eyed IDM at the warehouse. The effortless fluidity and charm of these tracks belies the skill, personality and intuitively dextrous approach of Bass Clef and his affinity with the machine. They're timeless pieces of UK electronica carrying the weight of heritage forward.

Over the past year as Peder Mannerfelt has shed the skin of The Subliminal Kid, we've only had small samples to taste of his new brand of musical sorcery. 'Lines Describing Circles' changes
all of that. Ten tracks deep, this is not so much an album as it is a declaration. From the opening, harrowing crackle of 'Collapsion,' Mannerfelt's intent is to crush the listener into a perfect, metal cube.'Lines Describing Circles' displays the sound of a man fully in control of his machines. Throughout the album, though, there are respites: the title track settles into a hypnotic groove while a simple, infectious melody repeating into darkness, while 'In Place Of Once Was' has a melody lurking, too, but it's constantly overwhelmed by sub-bass nihilism. 'Gulo Gulo Caesitas' is the pinnacle of the firestorm: cacophonous beats pummel you into submission while feedback and seemingly endless layers of aural mayhem pour down like sonic acid rain.As the computerised voice repeats 'Barren' over and over on 'Evening Redness In The West' there is no horizon left to long for. Peder Mannerfelt's transformation complete, he is off to find new trails to blaze as the melancholic pads of 'Rotterdam Anagram' are obscured by distorted filth.

Plying a line between glitch-like manifestation and cruder analogue sewage, these tracks are forged from degrees of digital and analogue that give a contemporary edge to the grotty greyscale industrial & proto-rhythm you might find whilst digging through the Vanity Records catalogue. Warm kicks and clipping digital synthesis is interlaced with acoustic sourcing and a curious, magnetic primacy - developing vital colour and tactility to these here wares. Think to those contemporary and necessary combinations of computer and combustion engine, but repurposed to a more Jean Tinguely-esque display of machinery for machineries-sake; built to chatter and clunk, to error, and essentially deteriorate. That quest for the perfect minimal weirdo beat re-cut for now.

The rich, dark sound of Lumisokea, the Belgian-Italian duo of Andrea Taeggi and Koenraad Ecker, annexes a dark, foreboding aura from an abundance of reference points - codifying and making concrete the connections that which might otherwise have been elusive or intangible in the worlds of noise, dub, techno and musique concrète. Apophenia follows their Opal Tapes debut Contrapasso, and sees their sound continue to develop; growing in intensity and twisting into more complex, aggressive, and euphorically bent shapes. All seems abstract, not as 'whoa, that's weird', but as though every element exists in direct opposition with nature and organic order. Industrial and technoid beats are rolled over sub-sonic, hyper-digital abrasions of noise and synthetic texture to reinforce and fortify the more extreme end of Opal's sonic interests. Synthetic stomp and precise, premeditated glissandi form sonic sculptures where the unreal is turned towards something frighteningly palpable

Ike Yard came into being as No Wave passed on, Industrial was in the air and 'proto techno' had yet to be coined. Propulsive, paranoid, aggressive electro minimalism, with as much attention paid to the mixing board and effects processors as to vocals, guitar and synth. At once starker and more fully-formed than virtually all other contemporaneous post-punk music. desire's 2012 edition represents the first ever vinyl reissue of this classic, prophetic album.
The line-up for the third remix EP includes a great deal of diverse music. It starts with Powell (Diagonal Records) doing a great beat-driven rework of Half A God. It has been mastered by Matt Colton @ Alchemy Mastering. The A side is closing with The KVB doing a post-punk rendition of Cherish 8. Cherish 8 is also remixed on the B side by Vessel of Tri Angle/ Young Echo fame. The last remix (of NCR) is signed by UK enigmatic industrial/dubstep Bandshell.
Ike Yard was originally a quartet comprising Michael Diekmann, Stuart Argabright, Kenneth Compton and Fred Szymanski. The group are active again after a 28 year hiatus, sans Szymanski; their most recent album is 2011's Nord and they are currently working on a final album.
