The second release of No More Pop features an obscure sideproject of the famous dutch minimal synth group 'Ensemble Pittoresque'. Originally released on a promo compilation for local bands in 1984 called 'De Wassenaarse Slag', the single 'A Distant Dance' is a truly unique journey into dutch synth wave.
The composer and producer Ton Willekes and Paulus Wieland teamed up with Marga Visser for the vocals for their last creation before the final end of Ensemble Pittoresque.
Besides the original version the record also features a special rework of the original Ensemble Pittoresque Demo of 'A Distant Dance', produced by Murphy Jax. On the remix front, the silvery Celina S resang the vocals for both Keen´s and Flemming Dalum´s remixes, which are shining due to their unique , dreamy and melancholic mood.

HQFU is the electro alias of musician, artist and producer Sarah J Stanley based in Glasgow. Despite having only played a small number of live shows to date, she has already supported CHVRCHES at their album launch show in London at Tufnell Dome, recorded a live session for Vic Galloway on BBC Radio Scotland and is gaining exciting press coverage across the UK.

Your Silent Face's second release - the first on his own label Tethys Records - continues the deep, brooding techno trajectory set by his first track on Fiedeltwo, 'A Place Where Arms Bend Backwards'. Title track Red Rain is urgent yet considered: subtle acid lines swirl and build against bright defined percussion while the bassline builds towards infinity. It reveals YSF's inspirations from Motorik music, early industrial bands like Nitzer Ebb and deep techno heroes including Sandwell District and Rrose.

Kleinian Transform takes techno to a place where Georgio Moroder meets Front 242 and Basic Channel, creating robotic space-tracks with dub disco melodies, insistent bassline and mighty crescendos. It's a late night dancefloor track influenced by DJ Hell and Francois K, but equally by Coil and New Order.

Scorched Earth closes the 'Red Rain' EP with a post-apocalyptic melancholy, a soundscape which nods to Kraftwerk and Boards of Canada. This is the track YSF wants you to hear at the end of times, recalling the blistering winds of post-nuclear fallout: darkly spacious, with a questioning melody.

The EP was mastered by Keith Tenniswood at Curvepusher.

An outstanding island funk compilation of some of the best funky and soulful tunes from '70s Trinidad & Tobago. On this compilation the sunny calypso vibe meets styles like funk, psychedelic rock, modern soul, Afro grooves, disco and boogie with its percussive, charming & warm sound. Limited to 500 copies.

Dear reader,since Ramona recently expanded her library of guilty pleasures with San Laurentino's 'Forbidden Fruit' back in 2012 the Hungarian fantasy-dreamboy hasn't been hiding in the shadows, he created one of his own. Apart from the temples of techno, pulsating flesh and 48 hours of party, San Laurentino found a beautiful muse and brought Ramona four tracks full of luscious bass-caramel, beach-warm synths and chords and melodies sweet as no honey could possibly taste.

First the facts. Big Black Delta is Jonathan Bates. And Jonathan Bates is Big Black Delta. Trágame Tierra is his second album as a solo artist under the moniker. Pinning down a narrative through line That's a bit harder.



Like any conversation with the Los Angeles musician, the train of thought hits several different stations at once, as he rapidly attempts to spitball a suitable album/life tagline.

- I'm doing the best I can.
- Don't be a dick and make something cool.
- I don't care about music as much as I care about the human condition.

There might be some truth to that last one. Bates regularly nudges any conversation about his work into a discussion of his Trágame Tierra guests, praising their talent and personalities in equal parts. Kimbra's youthful musicality and poise. Dhani Harrison's background vocals on Well My Heart. And 1980s pop poster-girl Debbie Gibson, whose wilingness to sing on a relatively unknown musician's album taught him more than he had anticipated.

While writing Trágame Tierra, a process that began shortly after finishing up the promotional cycle on his debut Bbdlp1, Bates had a large portion of his equipment stolen. His father also passed away. From the 150 songs he initially wrote, 12 made it on the first version of the record

So, Bates rewrote the album, indulging in all his creative impulses - often at the same time. The resulting genre-gobbling collection of songs might surprise fans. ("It has a lot of WTF moments," Bates confirms) After all, last time we met, his darkly romantic songs were predominantly tied together with ear-shattering walls of drums and keys.

He's still offering a larger than life version of himself, strutting through the crackling electronics like a latter-day David Bowie. But now there's more. More icy Scandinavian-leaning beats ("Overlord"). More near-country acoustic warmth ("Well My Heart," which also features a vocal assist from Dhani Harrison). More live instrumentation (see: the clarinet-driven refrain of "Strange Cakes," brought to you by Jaga Jazzist's Lars Horntveth). And more odd and often exciting choices that split the difference between 1980s cartoon, underground rave, and voyage to the moon. (Start with "Kid Icarus," but realize this statement could apply to the album as a whole). But most of all, it's a multi-layered collection of songs that points back to its creator, caring. Maybe more than anyone.

Continuing the sporadic reissue programme of Colin Potter's legendary, home recorded cassette releases from 1980-1982, Deep Distance reissues the seminal 'Scythe' set, expanded from it's initial 1981 ICR cassette releases, to a double LP with all manner of out-takes, alternate and demo versions, creating a killer set for all enthusiasts of Colin's work as a member of NWW and collaborator with the likes of Organum, Current 93 and Ora and so on...

Here are some notes from Colin himself:
'The tracks on this album were recorded in the late seventies and early eighties. Side 1, Trk.1 to Side 3, Trk.2 were originally released as 'The Scythe' on cassette, the second release by ICR. 'Nightshift' is taken from the ICR/Aeroplane cassette 'Chainsaw'. The rest of the tracks are early or alternate versions and remixes. Most of the damage was done by myself using guitars, synths, sequencers, drum machines, percussion and modified toy keyboards with fairly primitive 4-track recording equipment. I was assisted on some of the tracks by Jon Caffery, Mel Jefferson and Trevor Wishart, all of whom are still speaking to me. Jonathan Coleclough did the design of the original tape and here we are, 35 years later, and he's designed this release too.

Keysound Recordings are excited to announce a chromatic collaboration from two family members, aided by an international cluster of voices. 'Gated' began life as a lush, percussive instrumental that sat between gqom & UK funky's offbeat percussion, house's padded textures and reggae's low-slung subs. It became a pivotal record at Keysound Sessions: scattering light into dark corners. Then three vocalists from three different countries made their twists on it: yard-style UK garage vocalist Specialist Moss, South Africa's Ruffest, known for their work on LV's 'Sebenza' album and Jamaica's Shokryme, an affiliate of dancehall's Aidonia and the Equiknoxx crew. The latter was recently featured on Toddla T's Jamaican Freshman freestyle 2016. The EP was 'hot mixed' live on an outboard desk in east London by Okzharp and Samrai; each mix a one take moment laid down. Okzharp released his debut EP, 'Dear Ribane 113' EP, in collaboration with Manthe Ribane, on Hyperdub last year. Originally from South Africa and a former member of LV, he has recently proven influential in the spread of the SA gqom sound through his DJ mixes and introducing other artists to it, not least Goon Club Allstars' Moleskin, Rinse FM's Mumdance and Hyperdub's Kode9. Samrai is a founding member of Manchester's bashy Swing Ting collective/label and a massively respected DJ in his own right. The imprint's Madd Again! album was one of the most celebrated releases of 2015. He first contributed to Keysound on the flagship compilation 'This is how we roll.'

Markus Schulz drops the curtain on the 17-strong tracklist for his fast approaching artist album, 'Watch The World'. Following the chart success of its vanguard singles, 'Destiny' and 'Facedown' (for which Schulz co-wrote lyrics), it sees the acclaimed producer assume an album songwriting role for the first time.

Mikron are two English brothers, Michael & Ciaran Corcoran, living in Australia. Following on from their impressive No Correlation EP on The Hacker & Gesaffelstein's ZONE Records in 2014, Sleep Paralysis brings a level of darkness to the CPU roster we've not heard since the likes of Source Direct. Harsh, hard hitting electro bass similar to that of Black Narcissus, overdriven, tape saturated 808 beats, with raw robotic funk leads seemingly conversing throughout.
