Born At Midnite ist das Nebenprojekt von Amery Sandford und David Carriere. Das in Montreal ansässige Duo begann Ende 2018 gemeinsam zu komponieren, wobei sie sich strikt an das ,Post-Party"-Prinzip hielten und jeden Song innerhalb eines Abends fertigstellten oder verwarfen. Mit Samplern, Bandmaschinen und einem improvisierten Ansatz beim Songwriting schafft das Duo eine unheimlich vertraute Atmosphäre durch eine ungeschliffene Linse aus dünnem Eis. Die Gruppe spielt mit dem allgegenwärtigen Narzissmus und der Selbstgefälligkeit unserer Zeit und näht dabei eine Art ,Produktplatzierungs-Punk" zusammen, der nicht gesponsert ist. Amery Sandford ist bildende Künstlerin und eine unkomplizierte Popsängerin. Vor kurzem veröffentlichte sie ihr erstes Soloalbum ,Amery - Continue As Amery". Das Dream-Pop-Duo Sorry Girls aus Montreal kehrt mit seinem dritten Album "Dreamwalker" zurück, das über Arbutus Records erscheint. Ihre exzentrische Mischung aus nostalgischen 70er-Jahre-Powerballaden und 80er-Jahre-Kitsch durchbricht neue Schwellen, zerlegt vergebliche Illusionen, um der Kälte zu trotzen und zu fragen, was vor uns liegt. Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2015 haben Heather Foster Kirkpatrick und Dylan Konrad Obront ihre eigene Marke von üppigem, vergnügungssüchtigem Synth-Pop geschaffen. Dank ihrem Talent, persönliche Texte mit einem schrägen Sound zu verbinden, ist ihre durch David Lynch geprägte Welt frei und unheimlich. Alles scheint vertraut, eine Melodie plätschert durch eine alte Traumlandschaft, und doch ist etwas nicht in Ordnung. Die Band debütierte 2019 mit dem selbstproduzierten "Deborah", das von Pitchfork und Gorilla vs Bear gelobt wurde. Ihr temperamentvolles zweites Album "Bravo!" aus dem Jahr 2023 präsentierte einen mehr auf die erweiterte Live-Band ausgerichteten Sound. Inspiriert von Fleetwood Macs Tusk-Ära schlugen Sorry Girls ihr Lager für mehrere Monate im Two Sisters Recording Studio in Montreal auf, um "Dreamwalker" aufzunehmen. Da die Zeit knapp bemessen war, wollten sie mehr mit den Livemusikern zusammenarbeiten und schnelle und entschiedene künstlerische Entscheidungen treffen, um der Musik so treu wie möglich zu bleiben. Das Ergebnis ist ein Sound, der ernsthaft, emotional und klar ist. Verwaschene Produktionstechniken und druckvolle Basslinien paaren sich mit sanfteren, skurrilen Klaviertrillern und entspannten Drums, die das thematische Hin und Her zwischen zwei Welten wiedergeben. Die Texte spielen mit idyllischen Visionen von Liebesobjekten, Fantasien von zukünftigen Utopien und der obsessiven Sehnsucht nach einer Leichtigkeit und Neuheit, die sich durchsetzt. "Dreamwalker" ist selbstbewusst und ironisch selbstbescheiden, gefangen in der Spiegelung eines Fensters. Under 1 House is the blazing new mixtape from Blue Hawaii - a six track tour-de-force showcasing the duo's trademark blend of liquid beats, dance-floor euphoria, and soaring diva-vocals.Under 1 House was written during Blue Hawaii's 2019 North American and European tours, and recorded at a wood cabin in rural Québec. Finding each other trapped on different sides of the Atlantic, the record was then finished over long-distance between Montreal and Berlin due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. This music is dedicated to the spirit of togetherness. Unity achieved through confidence, in the seductive redemption of one's own sexuality, finding power in feelin' one's self. Under 1 House honours the magnetism of impulse and first takes. This flow can be found in the brooding, early Warp Records reminiscent "Where are the Keys???", the sub-heavy, lustful organ groove of "Feelin'", the lo-fi high energy "I Felt Love" or the chanting of "I'm my own damn woman" during the screeched ending of "Not my Boss!". Blue Hawaii have been around for a decade, having released 3 full length albums and two EPs to date. Consisting of Ra and Ag, the duo met throwing parties and shows in Montreal and continue to create together despite living in separate cities - split between Montreal and Berlin.

TOPS were formed in Montreal in 2011 when song-writing duo David Carriere and Jane Penny decided to join forces with drummer Riley Fleck. Delivering a raw punk take on AM studio pop, Picture You Staring is a lush array of timelessly crafted songs. Singer Jane Penny gives a new voice to the silent girl at the edge of the circle, disillusioned but honest and unpretentious, a tone complemented by David Carriere's seamless guitar playing and the measured drumming of Riley Fleck. TOPS' subtle arrangements are delivered with a cool restraint that blend with the individuality and self-assured desire of their female lead. Picture You Staring gathers strength through intimacy. Sorry Girls have danced out of the darkness into the light. Since forming in 2015, the Montreal duo of Heather Foster Kirkpatrick and Dylan KonradObront have transformed an eerie, dream like sound into lush, pleasure seeking pop. Expanding upon their debut album, Deborah, the band’s deftly arranged sophomore LP, Bravo!, sings to the back rows of the stadium, drawing listeners inward with a newfound focus on personal lyrics. “These songs are all about self-acceptance, self-affrmation, personal freedom, and letting go,” says Kirkpatrick. “There are a lot of lyrics about the creative process itself, identity shaping, and how those things intertwine.”

Born At Midnite is the faux-vanity project of Amery Sandford and David Carriere. Jamming strictly ‘post-party’ with a fnish line posture – either completing or scrapping a song in a single evening – the Montreal based duo began writing together in late 2018.

Employing samplers, tape machines, and an extemporaneous approach to songwriting, the duo establish an eerily familiar atmosphere through an unpolished lens of thin ice. Playing into whilst poking fun at our era’s omnipresent narcissism and self indulgence, the group stitch together an unsponsored sort of ‘product-placement-punk’.
