First 2016 release from Disco Modernism, Milan! Fred Ventura new single is a classic Italoconnection production of a song originally written in 1984 and never finished until today. The new arrangements are almost totally inspired by the first demo and only a few ingredients have been added to the final track.
To complete the package we asked some of our favourite contemporary producers to rework the song in their unique style. Flemming Dalum go back to the early 80's typical sounds for his rework, Phil R rebuild the song with his personal and melodic touch, Codazzi increase the BPM for another of his pumping remixes. The release is strictly limited to 300 12' vinyls, 150 colored copies plus 150 classic black vinyls.

It was July 26th 1979, following a meeting with the group The Meditations in the Madison Square Garden area, Kingston Jamaica, Dervin Dawes and Donald Marshall paid close attention and exchanged ideas in turn learning much more from an already established group with their hit song 'Woman Is Like A Shadow'. Ansel Cridland (The Meditations) brought some more talent to the D'Nations by suggesting meeting and talking with Anthony Hill who can sing very well. The Meditations would show the D'Nations good lead vocals and having harmony in sync together in order to develop a better sound for the determined trio.
Channel 1 Records Studio on Maxfield Avenue, West Kingston Jamaica; in that era was the top of the line and one of the most prestigious recording studios. There, the D'Nations met and impressed the producer Bunny Hylton from London, who was residing in Jamaica at the time. He provided them with studio time enough to produce the first two songs from the trio 'See Me in the Park' and 'I Am Not Good At Proposing', released in England in late 1979.
In 1989, after good vibes with the most famous backing-band at this time Fire House Crew, the D'Nations composed with them 'Vibes Version' at Music Works studio and then move to Creative Sound Studio on Mountain View Avenue to record the vocal. The result is a monster digital lover tune that will mash up all festivals this summer.

ex:el is the third studio album by 808 State, released in
1991. In contrast to the band's previous works, the album features heavier beats and percussion, embracing earlier flirtations with hip-hop and industrial music.
The album also features the guest vocals of Bernard Sumner of Joy Division and New Order fame, who sings on 'Spanish Heart'. In addition, Björk sings on 'Qmart' and 'Ooops' and is credited with co-writing the two songs, establishing a partnership with 808 State's Graham Massey that would result in his working on many of her solo projects.
Add to all this two of the best techno singles from the early '90s,'In Yer Face,' a subtly politicized anti-American slammer, and the almighty 'Cubik'; and ex:el stands out all the more strongly. A true masterpiece.

Coyote Records' latest release features a deadly new combination of Last Japan & AJ Tracey on Ascend - a record that meshes fully-realised, expansive production with bars from grime's most exciting new MC. A long time in the making, Ascend deviates from the label's usual instrumental path, with opportunity to get both together on a record too good to miss. When AJ Tracey cropped up on a Spokes' Radar Radio set last year, Coyote immediately made the linkup and got him in a studio with Last Japan, resulting in Ascend; a tense, creeper of a beat that builds before breaking into full cinematic glory for AJ's hook. Needing little introduction by now, AJ Tracey's rise to prominence over the last 12 months has seen the Ladbroke Grove-based MC barely pause for thought, turning heads everywhere from small dark raves to national radio. On Ascend, he is in relentless form, lacing Last Japan's synth-laden epic with bars on life and music West London, backing up his cockiness with substantial skill, clever wordplay and a breathless delivery. The EP also offers up Tracey's verses on a couple of equally heavy remixes, as well as an instrumental VIP version from Last Japan. Coyote affiliated and recently Planet Mu signed trio Silk Road Assassins' version is as immersed in deep, driven bass as it is dramatic, while Bangclap producer Impey strips the synths and layers right back to reveal a scorching, no-prisoners edit with its heart set on working even the meanest of club systems.

In anticipation of Bosq's second full-length album, "Bad For Me" paves the way for more of his signature dancefloor goodness that he's been steadily cultivating from his work with Whiskey Barons to his full-length album debut "Bosq Y Orquesta De Madera". This time around Nicole Willis lends her talents to the tune, revisiting her dance and house roots where she made a name for herself in the '90s. Bosq originally reached out to Nicole to do a slow burning soul track he'd been working on, but after listening to his album she was set on doing a dance record. The result is the most straight up heavy dance floor disco in the Bosq catalog thus far. The track is dense with that afro-latin-disco percussion you would expect, bubbling with thick funky bass lines, rhythm guitar from "disco" Tom Noble himself, and a wide open piano driving it all. Nicole's perfectly nonchalant vocals sit just right in the groove effortlessly tying the track together and repeating the phrase we've all uttered at least a few times. The late night dub version expands on the deep chorus groove and allows each piece of the track to really stretch out, highlighted by a killer solo from Boston's piano wizard Yuki Kanesaka. In keeping with Bosq's hometown crew love theme, he enlists the Soul Clap production duo to have their way with a remix that packs a punch with it's pulsating drums and expertly placed synths complementing the vocals, percussion, hand claps, and keys from the original tune.

Keysound Recordings are excited to announce the introduction to the extended family of Detboi, longtime contributor of fearsome dubplates to the label's Rinse FM show. The EPs four tracks - Scatter', Give Love', Shots' and Pin Point' - represent a very focused cluster, taking both the building blocks and the essence of early 90s hardcore and jungle and imploding them at house 'n' garage tempo. On dance floors, as witnessed by sets at Keysound Sessions in Peckham, Fabric and Outlook festival, they create a strange paradox of both percussive impact but also extreme, almost arresting disorientation. Despite its strobe-like, almost ravey feel, the vinyl artwork depicts subatomic particle scattering. The universe's DNA gets rewired in beautiful loops and curves just like rave's base pairs were sent into a disorientated spin by junglists.
