John Carpenter - Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998

John Carpenter is a legend. As the director and composer behind dozens of classic movies, Carpenter has established a reputation as one of the greatest filmmakers in the history of modern cinema, as well as one of its most influential musicians. The minimal, synthesizer-driven themes to films like Halloween, Escape From New York, and Assault on Precinct 13 are as indelible as their images, and their timelessness was evident as Carpenter performed them live in a string of internationally sold-out concert dates in 2016. Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 collects 13 classic themes from Carpenter's illustrious career together on one volume for the first time. Each theme has been newly recorded with the same collaborators that Carpenter worked with on his hit Lost Themes studio albums: his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies.

Anthology is a near-comprehensive survey of John Carpenter's greatest themes, from his very first movie, the no-budget sci-fi film Dark Star, to 1998's supernatural Western, Vampires. Those sit alongside the driving, Led Zeppelin-influenced Assault on Precinct 13 theme, Halloween's iconic 5/4 piano riff, and the eerie synth work of The Fog. Carpenter and his band also cover Ennio Morricone's bleak, minimalist theme for The Thing.

We also get vital new recordings of the themes to '80s classics and fan favorites Big Trouble in Little China, Escape From New York, Christine, and They Live, along with the romantic Starman, which earned Jeff Bridges his first Oscar nomination as a lead actor. The collection is rounded out by the menacing, heavy themes to Prince of Darkness and In the Mouth of Madness, the latter a Metallica-inspired riff originally played for the film by Kinks guitarist Dave Davies, and now played by his son Daniel.

In the weeks following Anthology's October 20 release, Carpenter will return to the road, playing both classic movie themes and material from his two Lost Themes albums. The performances will once again affirm the power of the Horror Master's brilliant work as a composer and musician, and undoubtedly send audiences rushing home to their DVD libraries to dive yet again into the most rewarding filmography in genre cinema.

Deluxe color vinyl editions come with 7" including the themes to Village of the Damned and Body Bags
Collects the classic themes of John Carpenter on one volume for the first time

Akira S - Honda-san

The EP features 7 short tracks that take cues from Akira's own japanese descendance contextualized in an urban Sa o Paulo whilst also making nods to pop culture relevant to Brazil at the time. Tracks jump from genre to genre while leaving a thread that binds them together - the fact that every single one of these tracks sound like the background music to all those TV shows that were birthed around the peak MIDI era.

Ah, life in the country...such bucolic bliss. Until your neighbor's dog contracts rabies, kills its owner, and then comes after you! With such emotional extremes, Cujo was not an easy movie to score, but when Stephen King's classic novel came to the screen in 1983 starring Dee Wallace and Daniel Hugh-Kelly with Lewis Teague directing, composer/conductor Charles Bernstein (A Nightmare on Elm Street) proved mightily up to the task. In addition to employing harsh synthesizer effects and dissonant orchestral layers leading up to the climactic showdown between Mom and beast, Bernstein also penned a tender theme expressing the gentle joys of family life. Unfortunately, post production woes mixed up some cues and caused the score to be abbreviated in the film, Intrada's recent CD release presented Bernstein's work for the first time as it was originally recorded, and that's where the 18 tracks on our first-ever vinyl release come from, with new (and terrifying) cover art. Limited black and brown St. Bernard' vinyl edition limited to 1000 copies!

The soundtrack (originally released in 1976) was composed by Ennio Morricone, and also includes several melodies from Verdi operas. 'Romanzo', the opening track is a typical example of Morricone's majestic musical style.

According to many reviewers this is one of the most sumptuous and beautiful scores of maestro Ennio Morricone.

Fittingly enough, The Cool Ghoul himself, John Zacherle, passed away right around Halloween in 2016, and now we here at Real Gone Music are celebrating his one-year deathday' by releasing his incredibly rare album Zacherle's Monster Gallery, originally issued on the budget Elektra imprint Crestview, on green & orange pumpkin' vinyl limited to 1000 copies! This record was originally released in 1963, and was actually a copy of the 1960 Elektra album Spook Along with Zacherley, except for one very important detail: the cover art to the Crestview release was inked by legendary Mad Magazine artist Jack Davis, who actually passed away last year as well. Which probably explains why original copies of this record are selling for about $150 if you can find them...So consider this release a twin tribute to two guys who brought a big smile to millions of kids, especially those on the East Coast that used to see Zach present all those cheesy horror movies on TV. It starts with a foot tapping lightly...you close your eyes, dry ice fills the room, a disco ball slowly lowers and your heart starts racing. In that moment you are victorious. From the distance you can hear the sound of 14 skateboards gliding across the smooth tarmac. Each person with their own tale, their own track. This is the setting, Cobra Man is here to deliver their stories, welcome to the soundtrack to New Driveway.

Rolling out of LA with wind in their hair and sweat in their synths, ready to set the skateparks on fire come Cobra Man's Andy Harry and Sarah Rayne. When the two crossed paths, their aim was to push their sound past the point of being comfortable. Instead of filtering out the ideas some people might consider cheesy or too catchy we wanted to own them and go with it' explains Andy We've carved out a little space for ourselves to embrace whatever fun stuff we want. There was a process between Sarah and I about choosing vibes and pacing, so in a sense the whole thing was written in different characters but under the umbrella of our personalities.'

After a move from the East Coast to LA to work in the movie business, Andy Harry met Los Angeles native Sarah Rayne (Babes) after he'd found himself with the Mull brothers (legendary skateboard guys and contributors to Thrasher) living in his bedroom, eventually they founded a DIY space and started the Worble Warehouse, a place for freedom of expression, skateboarding, music and art. First they built a stage, soon after followed their legendary parties. It started with confetti cannons, piñatas and shredded pillows' explains Andy, but when one of their collective started building wooden structures, it escalated to the point that art installations were being built and incorporated into the parties. For example, a huge Trojan horse was built with a person hiding inside throwing ice cold beers into the crowd while the parties commenced. Without intending it, Cobra Man had, with the help of a few skate kids, started their own modern day Studio 54 or The Loft, the legendary Cobra Man live performances would come to be the foundation for New Driveway.

It's a lo-fi punk journey through bastardised arpeggiated Italo-disco for the Thrasher generation, you'll hear that in tracks like 'Magic Hour'. Whereas 'Weekend Special' conjures up a pixilated streets of rage style call to arms, busting your way through the jocks with the Skatt Bros blasting in your headphones. Lazyman turns the guitars up to 11 and lays on the thick Goner sound we all know and love, but never strays from the disco and punk infused soul of Cobra Man.

The debut album is inspired by The Worble Collective and skateboarding vids (In fact many of their tunes have been used on high profile Thrasher skate vids) with bass lines being laid down on a battered old 80's Diamond bass, soaring synth melodies, Daft Punk strings and euphoric vocal hooks. It's rammed with influence ranging from Sister Sledge to Devo, Stereolab to Black Moth Super Rainbow, Ariel Pink to William Onyeabor and ELO to The Kinks.

The New Driveway Soundtrack pushes across genres as frequently as it does environments. It's the Grease Soundtrack for the Millennial generation. This infectious neon celebration will surely freshen your spirits and loosen your hips, satisfying your innate need for classic innovation and fun... Follow us as we coast further down the New Driveway.

Hans Zimmer And James Newton Howard - Batman Begins - Ost

In this first film from the Dark Knight Trilogy', director Christopher Nolan took DC Comic's classic character in a different and altogether darker direction. Released in 2005, the movie was a critical and commercial success, now widely regarded as the best superhero film of the 2000's.

Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard's moody, intense score perfectly complements director Christopher Nolan's dark world using a sound palette that successfully taps into the psychological aspects of the story as well as the psyche of the main character himself. The track names are all species of bat and many of them have featured on a succession of trailers for other films.

The soundtrack was originally released on vinyl format in the UK in 2012 and is now released on blue vinyl for the first time.

Hans Zimmer comments: I really turned the orchestra basically on its head. In a funny way I made the orchestra more into the electronics and the electronics more into the orchestra. It's hard to explain, but the orchestra never got to play the way a normal orchestra plays'

One Way Static Records is excited to bring you their latest release: RICK WAKEMAN'S iconic motion picture soundtrack for the 1981 slasher-classic THE BURNING. The Burning is loosely based on the NY urban legend of Cropsey, a tale that became popular at summer camps in the 1960s and '70s. In the film, a summer camp caretaker who was horribly disfigured from a prank gone wrong is released from the hospital with severe deformities and seeks revenge on those he holds responsible, starting with the kids at a nearby summer camp. Made at the height of the low-budget slasher-film craze fueled by the success of Halloweenand Friday the 13th in the early 1980s, the film has become notable for being the first release from Miramax Films. The Burning is also the feature-film debut of Seinfeld's Jason Alexander as well as future Academy Award winners Fisher Stevens and Holly Hunter. Legendary make-up artist Tom Savini, notable for his work on Dawn of the Dead, Maniac & the original Friday the 13th, created the effects for The Burning. Theatrically released in the United States in May 1981, it has since gained a cult following and reappraisal by critics.

The Burning currently holds a 100% "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The iconic score for the film was composed and performed by Rick Wakeman, an English composer, keyboardist, songwriter, author & actor that actually needs little introduction. He is best known for being in the progressive rock band 'YES' and for his solo albums released in the 1970s. Wakeman's early credits include playing on David Bowie's "Space Oddity" and on songs by T.Rex, Elton John, Cat Stevens,Lou Reed & Black Sabbath (among others). During the decades he also composed numerous soundtracks and additional music for films like 'Creepshow 2' (1987), 'Crimes Of Passion' (1984) & 'The Phantom Of The Opera'(1990).

A cool film needs a cool soundtrack, right And none come cooler than ATOMIC BLONDE. A double LP filled to the brim with needledrops of some of the '80s best known cuts, as well as some under the radar gems, and a smattering of brand new tracks recorded especially for the movie.

David Bowie, George Michael, The Clash, Nena, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and A Flock Of Seagulls of course need no introduction, and they all contribute absolutely killer songs here. Rubbing shoulders with these A-listers are lesser known acts such as Re-Flex, whose track 'The Politics of Dancing' was a minor hit in the UK and is a pure '80s synth-pop banger from start to finish. After The Fire went from playing uninspired prog rock to recording the should-have-been classic 'Der Kommissar,' full of funky guitar licks and a chorus so hook-laden it should be illegal. 'Voices Carry' by American new wave band 'Til Tuesday features Aimee Mann on vocals and is an all-timer everyone needs on vinyl.

Colossal is a complex film working on many levels and Bear McCreary's' score easily matches the subtle tonal shifts throughout, for our money this may be his best work yet, it's really beautiful, full of heart & striking melodies yet suitably mournful and epic when it needs be. Mixing a traditional orchestral style, with flourishes of post-rock - think Mogwai with a string section. The way Bear manages to mix the two disparate styles is testament to just how good a composer he really is, another new score for 2017 that promises to be a winner come the end of year polls.

Max Richter - On The Nature Of Daylight 1 Music From The Film 'arrival

'Arrival' premiered at the Venice Film Festival and has received widespread rave reviews. It stars Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker, with Adams playing the lead role of a linguist who attempts to communicate with aliens that ominously appear at sites across the globe. As mankind teeters on the brink of global war, she and her team embark on a race against time to peacefully find out why they've arrived. More than a conventional sci-fi thriller, this is a thoughtful, intellectual drama with a genre twist.

'On The Nature Of Daylight' was originally featured on Max's landmark album 'The Blue Notebooks', which with its strong anti-war sentiment gels perfectly with the pro-unity theme in 'Arrival'.

When I wrote 'On The Nature Of Daylight' in 2003 I conceived it as the opening of my upcoming record, 'The Blue Notebooks'. At that time (as now) I was troubled by the political and humanitarian circumstances of the Iraq war and, like most of us, felt powerless to do anything, 'The Blue Notebooks' was a protest record. 'On The Nature Of Daylight' is also a reflection on my own childhood, and that fantasy space that children sometimes retreat into - an alternate reality of safety, quiet and sanity. I never imagined that the piece would have a life outside this context: It was so personal.

However, since life is very strange, the music took off in all sorts of unforeseen directions. Choreographers and film makers especially have connected to the work's emotionality, and so its second life began.

When I was contacted by the makers of 'Arrival', I was initially cautious. Having allowed the work to be used in two outstandingly powerful films, Martin Scorsese's 'Shutter Island', and Henry Alex Rubin's 'Disconnect', I was doubtful about granting another use.

But Denis Villeneuve called me and described the integral nature of 'On The Nature Of Daylight' to the architecture of 'Arrival' - it starts and ends the film - and, as he described the film I was drawn into his powerful world. So, in the end it was an easy decision.'  Max Richter

The 'On The Nature Of Daylight' 12' includes both versions of the music, the original quintet recording, and the later recording for full string orchestra.

Sarah Schachner - Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare

iam8bit has teamed up with Infinity Ward and Activision to mint the music of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on wax. The moment we heard composer Sarah Schachner's epic score, tinged with sci-fi subtleties and big orchestra crescendos, we couldn't shake its trappings.

During development, the Infinity Ward team fell in love with Chris Skinner's illustrations, so it only made sense to recruit him for the album design. Skinner's skills are uniquely honed - deft at inking detailed vehicle battle scenes, but also the intricacies of the human condition. It's a classy match for the Call of Duty universe.

As with all iam8bit vinyl releases, the music is mastered specifically for vinyl audio supremacy.

The unusual bond between boy & beast resonates deeply in this rich, orchestral score, accented further by wistfully beautiful album art by famed artist Nimit Malavia (noted for his elegant Fables covers).

Toby Fox's original score accentuates the odyssey of Undertale beautifully - a nostalgic, chip-riffed plummet down a 16-bit rabbit hole. Allusions to classic RPGs like Earthbound and Final Fantasy are certainly obvious, but the magic of Undertale's music is that in the wake of all its retro references, it deftly crafts a unique, emotional identity all its own.

Marc 4

Four Flies
06.07.2018

Holy Grail Alert! This is absolutely the rarest, and probably the best MARC 4 album ever, pressed as a library on Ricordi label (LR 10) in 1970 with the title I MARC 4 PER VOI, but composed for the original soundtrack of DEBITO CONIUGALE, a brilliant comedy directed by Franco Prosperi, and starring Barbara Bouchet and Lando Buzzanca. A truly amazing album, ranging from jazz to bossa nova, from funk to rhythm 'n' blues and psychedelic - all touched with the unique and distinctive sound of I MARC 4, the premier backing band of soloists in the panorama of Italian soundtracks and library music, here accompanied by the vocal work of Edda Dell'Orso as well as the choir, I Cantori Moderni di Alessandroni. An essential record that resonates with that distinctive Italian sound from beginning to end, and which pays tribute to the incredible work of our finest session musicians and creators, rather than of simple executors of a rustproof groove that is not affected by the passage of time.
Go South Italy ! Armando Trovajoli An absolute must-have for any serious soundtrack collector, and reissued here on vinyl for the very first time!

Emma De Angelis - Emma De Angelis

As one of the most enigmatic figures of the 1970's Italian soundtrack and library music network Emma De Angelis and her short recording career provides thirsty fans of speedball psychedelic rock and drum heavy instrumental funk with a tight discography rivalling many of the long-standing bastions of the otherwise male-orientated business. * Strictly limited to 1000 copies.*
.
Born in Rocca di Papa, near Rome, into a flourishing musical environment Emma was the younger sister of future award-winning composers Guido And Maurizio De Angelis, a duo, who under names like Oliver Onions and Dream Bags, would write chart-topping lyrical theme tunes for a wide range of Italian crime, Giallo and Spaghetti Western films featured alongside full scores by Ennio Morricone and the Magnetic System composers (Bixio Frizzi Tempera).
With encouragement from her brothers, Emma, who would also write music under the pseudonym of Juniper, would record a tight clutch of solo-penned material and seldom credited studio contributions to Guido And Maurizio's film commissions, such as the score for Giuliano Carnimeo's Simone e Matteo: Un gioco da ragazzi (aka Convoy Buddies). While simultaneously pursuing a career as an illustrator and set designer the De Angelis family contacts would lead Emma to the offices of Romano Di Bari, whose up-and-coming Flirt label was finding success providing custom built mood music for use in TV and film. Alongside important composers like Alessandro Alessandroni, Gerardo Iacoucci and A. R. Luciani, the young Emma Di Angelis would record a small number of tracks for a compilation called Underground Mood (credited in the small print to E De Angelis - not to be confused with Italian singer Edoardo De Angelis). It is from this rare LP that the record you are now holding is compiled. Within the Flirt family of labels Emma De Angelis would also share schedules with other important female composers such as Daniela Casa and Giulia Kema' De Mutiis - both of whom have appeared on dedicated Finders Keepers releases.
The tracks on this record provide us with a rare glimpse into Emma De Angelis' short musical career before she became a full-time visual artist. With an unknown personnel or studio date it is easy to speculate a potential family jam in Piero Umiliani's Sound Workshop studio in 1972. One only has to take a listen to Guido And Maurizio's instrumental theme Gangster Story from Enzo G. Castellari's 1973 thriller High Crime (which later appeared on Tarantino's Death Proof soundtrack) or the trippy title theme to Paolo Poeti's kinky 1976 drama Inhibition to spot the family resemblance

Ennio Morricone - Per Un Pugno Di Dollari/a Fistful Of Dollars
  • A1: Titoli
  • A2: Per Un Pugno Di Dollari
  • A3: Quasi Morto
  • A4: L'inseguimento
  • B1: La Reazione
  • B2: Square Dance
  • B3: Senza Pietà

Year 1964. Almost out of nowhere, the little-known and regarded director Sergio Leone transposes into a western key a film by Akira Kurosawa, and by putting together all the right pieces, adding a bit of intuition, lays down new rules for the 'spaghetti western' genre, giving way to an endless series of imitations.

"A Fistful of Dollars" would not have the same impact without the inimitable music written by Ennio Morricone, who had curiously been an old elementary school Leone's classmate. The main soundtrack themes were chosen from two arrangements that Morricone had already drafted two years earlier, once removed the lyrics and added the unmistakable whistle of Alessandro Alessandroni, the spaghetti-sound was finally complete!

The film was an incredible success, and projected Leone, Morricone, and in particular the actor Clint Eastwood into the Olympus of the Great. The soundtrack was released for the first time the following year (1965), along with the one of Sergio Leone's subsequent work "For a Few Dollars More".

This new edition sees the original seven tracks of the score in a completely new layout. The format is a 10" 45rpm LP, with a 26x26cm miniposter attached.

Ennio Morricone - C'era Una Volta Il West/once Upon A Time In The West

After the "Dollar Trilogy", Sergio Leone was given a new offer on another western movie that he could not refuse. Following his own rules again, and working on the film story with Bernardo Bertolucci and Dario Argento, he directed the monumental "Once upon a time in the West", featuring the American actors Henry Fonda and Charles Bronson among others.
Each character is strongly stereotyped here, a fact emphasized by the motion picture soundtrack, once again delivered by Ennio Morricone in collaboration with his orchestra and Alessandro The Whistler' Alessandroni and his Choir, with the addition of the female singer Edda Dell'Orso. The flavor is epic, but also very romantic at some points, since there's a love story involving Jill, an ex-prostitute, and one of her old lovers, Cheyenne.
This is another excellent demonstration that, when it comes to the exquisite blending of images and music, Italians do it better!
In a few word, this is another perfect soundtrack for a magnificent movie!
This reissue comes in a splendid gatefold package, with a 30x30cm inlay poster.

Ennio Morricone Milano Odia - La Polizia Non Può Sparare

"Milano Odia: La polizia non può sparare", a 1974 movie directed by Umberto Lenzi, is the quintessence of the Italian police films. Not only, it's even more violent and extreme than usual, with one of the best interpretations ever by the Cuban actor Tomas Milian.
The soundtrack for the film is commissioned to Ennio Morricone, who at the time was already a full-time score composer, and had already worked in the same field. The Maestro wrote the entire OST starting from a single, obsessive theme, arranged in many different ways for each different scene or atmosphere.
The whole soundtrack had never been released until 2007, and this is the first whole edition on vinyl ever. It comes in a gatefold package, with a 30x30cm inlay poster.

La Famiglia Benvenuti - Armando Trovajoli Ft. Marc 4 & I Cantori Moderni Di Alessandroni

Presenting one of the greatest works by maestro Armando Trovajoli, a solid Italian easy listening masterpiece. After its commercial debut in 1968 as an original soundtrack of famous Italian TV-movie, this record gained renewed interest in the 1990s when four tracks were compiled in the immortal Easy Tempo series. From then on, La Famiglia Benvenuti has not only been considered one of

Trovajoli's most sought after records, but has achieved the status of being the manifesto of the Roman swinging sixties - a lively addition to the delightfully cool sounds of the late 1960s, made possible by the following key ingredients: the Marc 4 sound (a steady presence for almost every Trovajoli recording), the outstanding I Cantor I Moderni di Alessandroni, with their unmistakable vocal

harmonies, and lastly, the eccentric use of the harpsichord (a signature of Trovajoli's spaghetti soundtracks of the period). Behold a brilliant cocktail of groovy bossa, terrific shake, catchy tunes, and pop songs, as the amazing LA DECISIONE, sung by Donatella Luttazzi, daughter of the great Lelio.

An absolute must-have for any serious soundtrack collector, and reissued here on vinyl for the very first time!

Suzanne Ciani - Help, Help, The Globolinks!

As faithful guardians of the Ciani Musica Inc. studio vault Finders Keepers Records twist the key and return to their collaborative series of previously unreleased music from one of the most important and influential composers in the history of multi-disciplinary electronic music.
.
Open-minded, unpretentious, enigmatic and consistently inspiring, Suzanne Elizabeth Ciani would shatter the mould and invert the stereotype of electronic composers in the early 1970s with a bona fide education in classical music, a clear understanding of technology and a genuine will to communicate and naturalise electronic music.

All of these unique attributes, coupled with her natural charm and generosity, would win her success and notoriety in the colliding worlds of art, film, advertising, theatre, dance and eventually popular recorded music in the latter part of the 21st century - a multifarious achievement which remained unrivalled by any of her contemporaries, regardless of gender, conquering many male-dominated platforms and breaking creative ground in the process. It is exactly these key factors that would form the basis for this multifaceted musical project that is stored within the grooves of the record you are now holding. This electronic soundtrack for an operatic, ecological, scholastic, science fiction theatre production for children of all ages not only further reveals Suzanne's vibrant and versatile skills as an experimental musician and narrative sound designer but also highlights her European heritage - working to the script of Milanese librettist Gian Carlo Menotti and a cast of forward-thinking fellow Italian-American creatives (including Giorgio Armani and Fiorucci in the wardrobe department). Originally written and performed in 1968, and gaining worldwide acclaim throughout the 1970s, Gian Carlo Menotti would update and revise his play for the turn of the 80s which called for a new approach to the music and sound effects - all of which would make their world premier in New York high school theatres in April of 1980. I was honoured to have been selected to create a new electronic score for Gian Carlo Menotti's opera for children,' Suzanne told Finders Keepers. The original production had been in 1968 and I felt that the electronic music component could be more playful and less abrasive than the original production.' For this task Suzanne would approach the brief with the same zeal and tenacity that she continues to apply to all her work by reinventing the process, challenging convention and supplying the audience with something they have never experienced before. For Help, Help The Globolinks Ciani would give Menotti's well-travelled aliens a brand new voice and with reinvention she communicated with a young audience keen to hear the genuine sounds of the future while retaining melodicism and personality quite potentially overshadowing the human' casts exceptional abilities and challenging the director's and writer's authority in true Ciani style: I recall meeting with Maestro Menotti at his home in New York City,' recalls Suzanne. Later I was told that he was upset by the size of my credit on the poster.'
Unlike many successful electronic composers, Suzanne, as a serious and genuinely revolutionary artist, managed to evade the obvious typecasting of her music through the medium of shlock sci-fi cinema (Swiss composer Bruno Spoerri readily observes that all the best space film scores veered from this pairing) but within the realms of opera and education Suzanne found her perfect channel (scratching her other cosmic cinematic itches with android music in The Stepford Wives and as the first female composer to score a major Hollywood movie' with The Incredible Shrinking Woman release one year after The Globolinks redux debut). Furnishing a plot of an ecological alien intervention worthy of a Magma youth starter pack and realigning early pioneering electronic operas such as Karl-Birger Blomdahl's Aniara or Remi Gassman's Electronics for family consumption, this virtually undocumented work by the hardest working woman in VCO business is finally preserved after just a handful of exclusive theatrical airings over 35 years ago. Having honed her craft in the close company of late synthesiser designer Don Buchla (a company of whose development she played a key role) it is plain to see how the young Suzanne Ciani combined roles as an abstract artist and an astute technician in equal measures, a rare duplicity which would be essential The Globolinks and all our musical quests for a brighter future

Originally released in 1969, this LP features music by BBC Radiophonic Workshop members Delia Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson alongside David Vorhaus, an American born composer and musician with whom they formed the experimental electronic band White Noise'. It was put out by the Standard Music Library label, set up in 1968 by Bucks Music and London Weekend Television, which supplied production music for use in TV, commercials, radio and film. Many of these tracks were used in the 1960's cult TV show, The Tomorrow People' and each one has a short description of the music after the track title.

Both Derbyshire and Hodgson assumed pseudonyms in the credits: Li de la Russe & Nikki St. George respectively.
Two of the tracks are co-written by the pair, who also worked together to set up the organisation and studio project Unit Delta Plus', which was extensively involved in the promotion and exploration of electronic music.
