Foto Recordings - The Pitch Down Jamz Ep

After a couple of house 12s Foto returns to more edit-based territory with its first V/A EP. OOFT! kicks things off by paying homage to the Reverend and the Deacon with Love & Soulsaving. Next up Italian newcomer La Tuerie keeps things loopy, soulful and slow on Filter. On the flip future star Luvless from Leipzig delivers some loping pitch-down house in the form of Motion Clapture and everyone's favourite LA don Cole Medina rounds out proceedings with the downbeat soul of I Like You. Job done.

Superb deep house massives out of Berlin from Joe Le Bon hailing from Finland. Continental atmospherics with subtle Chicago crunch sounds ! "Life Is A Bird" is a lush and beautiful deep house track, while "Spring '64" with its repetitious percussion and a touch of dramatic strings develops into a 10 minutes long epic. As a bonus there is 'Drumbum' - a dub- vapored composition which recently appeared on Pro-Tez's "Knights of the Sad Pattern" compilation and was previously unreleased on vinyl. Limited to 300 !

Rose Records - Various Three

Hej folks. Announcing our next sampler! "Various Three"!

On the A we have Martin Hayes with "When The Underdog Is Hungry". This dog fires up the 808 and kicks back into chill mode. 80'ies synths fly around the place with sun filled melodies and juicy grooves with a sprinkle of a voice sample on top of it. Finally a stabby bassy hook is thrown in to push for the celing.

M.ono is in anthem mode this time. His "Beggalicious Anthem No.2" is deep and driven like man on a friday-night-ladies-prowl. Happy, funky and beggalicious with a hint of soul and glammy disco.

Luvless closes the EP with "My Heart". Wistful like a may day filled with a longing for your loved one. A piano driven hook and chicago like drum work with a bubbly bass to boot sets this summerly crescendo into swing.

roses loves you!

Future Nuggets - Sounds Of The Unheard From Romania Volume 1

Future Nuggets is a collective from Bucharest (Romania), they operate out of two studios filled will analogue equipment which we first visited18 months ago. We were blown away with the "all hands to the deck" ethos and without knowing; they had created a music making scene with which all members could experiment and help each other on their own musical journeys.Every piece of kit at the studio was hardwired for instant use, which to my ears gives the music of the Future Nuggets a real edge so we decided to help get this music to a wider audience. This is just the tip of the iceberg so join us on the quest to dispel the myth that is limitation!

The New Sins are back. Don't Break My Heart is balearic, acid-pop with a sunshine lilt. Lou Hayter and long-term collaborator Nick Phillips have made a modern take on UB40's reggae classic, 'Don't Break my Heart'. On this track, Lou's vocal stays reverent to the original, a female response to the former version with an acid-pop backing track.

Erobique / Alexander Polzin - Warmer Bruder / Fr_chtchen

Actually it's rather hot. The jeep's motor is already purring as Erobique licks away the last scoop of strawberry ice cream and switches on the car radio. He spins the tires, pushing up a cloud of dust and sand to cover his ride like a protective shield. With ice cream and suntan lotion glistening in his beard, he puts the jeep in gear and moves off. The cowbells clatter on the back seat as yet another warm synthie wave washes the jeep up to the nearest club. It's dazzlingly bright; still, all eyes are drawn to the source. The bongos accelerate and high-pitched strings hover above the drifting dancers basking in slow motion. 'Warmer Bruder' is a dependable, good friend. Erobique will drive him on over and take you along...no matter where you are. The tunnel is long. Lights fly by, spinning into lines. Slowly, the black abyss opens and the walls become permeable. Warm, dark sand caressing feet and rising around legs. An omnipresent kick marches throughout the tenacious, mounting mass of melody textures and harmony particles. Alexander Polzin steers the gigantic ship towards the harbor. Expectant onlookers feed on the approach of dark, shimmering monument with blissful eyes. It is still glowing. 'Früchtchen' is a ship without a sail, without a motor. Its momentum is the power of fancy.

Heralding from a rockn'roll and jazz background Vaal is not aware of the strict rules that define & guard electronic music. Therefore Vaal is not afraid to break them.
Sourcing tracks and samples became an obsession: from this was born a compulsion to write, experiment & develop original music that could be equally human, equally electronic.
Vaal exists in the dark of the city: the secretive curtained room that you can never quite peer into, the dark pulsating dancefloors of the underground. Vaal has nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears & sweat.
Vaal is electronic, & Vaal is a Baastard.

Flume & Chet Faker - Lockjaw

Two of Australia's most talented prospects have collaborated on a stand alone release. Overachieving producer Flume and left-field crooner-on-the-verge Chet Faker will release the Lockjaw EP worldwide on via Future Classic. Having worked together on 'Left Alone', the plan for a collaborative release was hatched when they toured together on the 2013 Laneway Festival. Shortly after, the two headed to Sandy Point and Narre Warren Victoria for a four day writing binge. The result is a three-track release that unites the strengths of each artist - the classy, understated beats of the ARIA Producer of the Year (Flume) and Chet's incredibly soulful voice and keen ear for a melody.

Jacob Korn - You & Me 2x12"

Jacob is considered to be one of the most interesting German house producers from the last years, and with records out on labels like Running Back, Dolly and of course his home base Uncanny Valley he has been fueling expectations for a long play record.
You & Me' turned out to be an amazingly fresh and versatile album, and in good old Uncanny Valley tradition, a highly collaborative affair that goes far beyond the deephouse description, making it very well fit for both home listening and dancefloors worldwide.
A track like the dark and dirty 'Heteronomous' with Uncanny Valley fellow Sneaker lines up alongside the bright and sunny anthem 'Punta Del Este' together with Belgiums San Soda. Artists like Christopher Rau or Mr Raoul K add their trademark sounds but there is always that specific approach of Jacob Korn that connects the tracks. The concept of collaboration is even expanded on the cover artwork. A team of seven graphic artists led by Johannes Timbernagel interpreted the same template of Jacobs face in their specific style. To bring them all together Johannes texturized a 3D-Model of Jacobs head with a collage of all the drawings.

Ooko - Sex Sells Ep

Ooko

Sex Sells Ep

Mimm
13.09.2012

Nottingham's Mimm Recordings present another hidden gem from the UK's electronic music scene with Bristolian Ooko making his debut release on the label. With his first major introduction to the scene being through a track called 'Understand' on a free compilation from the label last year, he's now ready to unleash the cheekily-titled 'Sex Sells' EP which references a wide spectrum of dance music from house to jungle and beyond. Opening up with a raucous and utterly rhythmic ode to early '90s jungle with pitched down breakbeat drum patterns and brutal percussion fading in and out for the duration, 'Downtown' has an unrelenting thump that is sure to rattle a few club monitors in the months to come. The vocal sample of 'Downtown' is looped throughout the track and only expands during the breakdown to increase the tension for the second drop, which nods to the polyrhythmic stylings of Addison Groove, Machinedrum and Pearson Sound. Fellow Bristolians My Nu Leng lend their production skills to a remix of title track 'Sex Sells' which falls more into broken techno territory with it's crisp percussion and erratic arrangement. A more up-tempo effort than the original, it sees the the duo add their harder-edged dubstep influence into the track's pores. The original version of 'Sex Sells' is a far more patient affair and possesses the seductive slo-mo Bristol House bounce that has been so ubiquitous as of late. Low-end basslines compliment the groove whilst the delayed synths towards the tracks climax add a sense of dramatic edge to an otherwise club-focused EP. Plenty of DJ support already for all tracks, with plays on Mary Anne Hobbs, and love from Low Limit / Lazer Sword, Nightwave, Hackman, Mumdance, West Norwood Cassette Library, Chrissy Murderbot, Cardopusher, Doorly, Geiom and more.

Woolfy Vs Projections - The Return Of Love

Californian duo Woolfy vs Projections has finally finished the flollow-up to their 2008 album 'The Astral Projections Of Starlight. With its blend of psychedelic west coast rock, disco, balearic and hints to the likes of Bryan Ferry, Wings or david Crosby, The Return Of Love is a source of pure excitement.
Simon James aka Woolfy emigrated from the rainy shores of the United Kingdom to sunny California around the same time the biggest beard of all disco beards, DJ Harvey, headed to the Golden State. Both share a particular passion for dirty disco 12s from 73-84, a bit of English punk, pub funk and booze and therefore it was only logical that the two began to cooperate in some fields : whether Harvey was playing in Woolfy's Bar or Simon was helping Harvey out in the studio for some of his remixes. Then Simon met his partner in crime, Dan Hastie, over ten years ago in a bar ( where else ) in Los Angeles and this is how they got acquainted: A pint Ay, a pint will do fine ... You make music, I make music, let's make music!

Marco Dassi - Amigdala / Swedish Love

support by Nic Fanciulli, Maxime Dangles, Nicolas Masseyeff, Steve Lawler, Tiago Miranda, Massimiliano Pagliara, Oliver Klein, Sean Johnston, Claude VonStroke, Balearic Gabba Soundsystem..
Next up on the genre defiant Hell Yeah Recordings is an EP from label artist Marco Dassi, parts of which have already been getting plenty of plays from DJs like Dubfire, who included Amigdala on his recent Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 as well as his forthcoming compilation. The man behind the music, Italian producer and DJ Marco Dassi, has long been experimenting with a wide range of styles. He's never afraid to try something new, and to date has appeared on labels like Minus, Trapez, ViVA and Traum with well received tracks That touch on melodic techno, stripped minimalism and hypnotic bass. The lead track here though, leans more toward a disco sound. Amigdala is an early night, proto-sunset house track with slow and lazy claps cut up by dazzling synths, a touch of cosmic energy and great production values from start to finish. The second original and VINYL ONLY, Swedish Love goes even slower, rising and falling and building and releasing tension with real mastery. Deft vocals lurk in the spaces between the pixelated, bright synth lines and the whole thing screams pool party! On the flip, the VINYL ONLY remix comes from Mushrooms Project - a production outfit who has already released a full length on UK label Leng as well as more material on vinyl only outlets Is It Balearic and Under The Shade.

Michael Ozone - Perfect Systems - Remixed

Michael Ozone, the character who's just dropped his debut offering for the ESP Institute this July, is back with a remixed version of his jungle-tuff "Perfect Systems" EP. On Side A, Steve Summers (a name that's been up in your face over the last year, and one of the key figures in our cousin's L.I.E.S. camp) has taken Perfect Systems for an imperfect ride, jacking it up as expected while keeping the somewhat sinister mood of the original. On the flip, Young Marco (who has become quite a resident at the ESP Institute) strips down Hetrotopia to its core, letting you realize how a well-programmed track can maintain its melodic and hypnotic sense, even when all that's left is percussion.

Chasing Kurt - In The Air, Lauer, Deep Space O. Remixes

There's something happening, it's in the air tonight... Chasing Kurt return to Carry On with a love injecting two track EP. While the original tracks 'In The Air' and 'Galaxy Hero' enthuse because of their emotional deepness, the revised vocal-less versions of Phillip Lauer and Deep Space Orchestra are nailing it down seductively on the dancefloor. The release will be available on limited coloured vinyl in September 2012. Chasing Kurt is a deep house project from Germany brought to life by the producer team Pascal Blanché and Wojtek Kutschke featuring the heartfelt lyrics of polish soul crooner Lukas Poloczek. Their debut single 'Daydream' on Carry On earned a lot of appreciating feedback in 2010 like Laurent Garnier's praise: 'This is superb, such a lovely deepness.' Their second single 'Money' on Good Ratio Music took them even further in 2011. The low slung, dark and exhorting track climbed to #12 of the Groove Magazin charts and was picked by standout producer Maya Jane Coles for her episode of the famous DJ Kicks series.

supported by: Alex Agore, Roman Rauch, Ivano Tetelepta, Skipson, Borrowed Identity, Adryiano, YNK,..
The mysterious Zohar nobody knows who he is, but what we do know is that his music is truly remarkable. We first took notice of him for his great records on the equally fantastic label Quintessentials. His love for Philly Soul samples is one of the reasons why he is such a perfect match for Tenderpark since we are big Philly lovers ourselves. Brooklyn 9.30 AM and Dog Day are full of wonderful Soul references and so is the Drei Farben House Edit of Brooklyn. Another deep quality outing from Tenderpark.
