Shrouded in the mysterious moniker of Unknown, the anonymous producer who came to prominence via a selection of Youtube videos uploaded over the past few months, provides a rasping cut of deep, organ-driven melancholia which is guaranteed to further fire the embers of intrigue which have clung to him.
End of 2012 album charts won't be complete without a mention of Auntie Flo's Future Rhythm Machine which came out back in May. Here, Brian D'Souza adds some of his distinctive flavour to a reworking of 'Turning' which pits laid back, organic percussion with soft guitar, flute and marimba touches.
Lithuania's Ernestas Kausylas aka Brokenchord is known for creating productions which hover around a unique blend of dubstep, hip-hop, funky, garage and R&B and this remix is no exception.

In the context of Shigeto's debut LP Lineage, 'Huron River Drive' functions as a respite of sorts, a brief stop on the roadside of a very personal into the past. But as this single release proves, it also stands alone as a pleasantly understated piece of electronic beauty. The track swells slowly from the simple chord sequence of the intro into a lushly textured slice of late-night atmospherics - with more than a hint of jazz to be found in the brushed percussion and quietly tinkling electronic piano - and then receding back into the same sequence as the track draws to a close. The 'Huron River Drive' single comes with a selection of remixes, each with its own distinctive character: Evenings' remix bobs along on an understated hip hop beat, while the Sun Hammer remix strips the track down to its bassline and then adds analogue oscillator textures reminiscent of the earliest days of electronic music. The B-side of the single includes another Lineage tune, entitled 'Field Day", to which Braille, aka Praveen Sharma - one half of acclaimed Brooklyn neo-garage trailblazers Sepalcure - adds a wistful, nostalgic intro and a house-influenced beat. Sun Glitters' remix of 'Lineage' moves in similar territory, integrating vocal samples and a slow, loping kickdrum pattern. Taken as a whole, the single's an exploration of the possibilities inherent in Shigeto's sound, and serves as a fine introduction to the work of one of Brooklyn's more interesting young producers.

In an explosion of genre-bending crossover creativity, Texas-born, Brooklyn- based William Rauscher aka Night Plane claims our very first release. Since we first met William in 2010 we've watched his production talent flourish into what we proudly present to you today in 2012, the dance-floor approved Heartbeat EP. Showcasing William's guitar-driven dreamy indie-house style with vocal contribution from longtime hometown friend Casey Gibbs, this EP covers a wide range of Night Plane's repertoire. On 'Heartbeat' William delivers gritty punk-rock break-beat house, while Casey shoots for the moon channelling his inner Mick Jagger. The result is a call-and response seduction that will makes you feel extra tough in your leather. 'Gold Soundz' pairs William up with his CCC label partner DJ Harry Bennett, for a soaring and epic cover of the 90's alternative rock band Pavement. Smiles at sunrise for this late summer anthem that reminds us of teenage angst and long lost high-school crushes. Vocal stylings are courtesy of Heather D' Angelo from the band Au Revoir Simone. We love the dialled back tempo of 'Foreign Affairs", which set William and Casey drifting along again, this time in slow motion. A guest remix from our dear friends Wolf + Lamb on Gates Of Dawn (Wolf + Lamb Remix) features Heather D' Angelo once again, rounding out this EP with big drums and a Brooklyn attitude.

Like A Child is a lead single from upcoming debut album Journey by rising Lithuanian producer Mario Basanov. It features vocal and song writing skills of young and unknown American talent Athena Radford and tells another peculiar modern day story where trans Atlantic virtual friendship ends up with a sincere collaborative song of utmost and almost otherworldly beauty. After almost 4 years of silence Tolcha are back with Neustadt, another intense and suspensefully cinematic full-length LP. Like the title of the record suggests, the Berlin based four piece decided to pursue a neo-retro vision of a sonic
after-future with this one. What does that mean The record clearly leans on a Motorik aesthetic, but all the while redefining it with modern production techniques and surges of their very own breed of Dub, rather than rehashing genre related cliches. Neustadt was written and arranged to work like a movie score and it really sounds like one. What's also apparent here, is that there's a high level of comfort in the compositions and a deeply embedded signature at work, which is proof that the band has fully arrived into their maturity. This LP was written with care, produced with love and it shows. For the lack of a better comparison, just think of it as the equivalent of Godard's Alphaville on tape.

Explores a path that displays Alex's intense & thoughtful approach to music. 4 tracks of catchy, emotive, techno-based music. In turns funky, ethereal, monsterous, & raw, Alex doesn't subscribe to any particular style, yet remains stylish.

Little to nothing is known about the mysterious producer and their track titles are just as vague, consisting merely of numbers.
The hype first began when an anonymous email was sent to several blogs stating, 'This is my new project, I want to remain anonymous and let the music speak for itself'.
Since that first track, there have been nine more originals and two remixes - all of which have been featured heavily online via the artist's Youtube channel (the only place his work can be previewed)
In a world where everything can be found in seconds, Unknown puts the mystery back into music - enabling some people to be in the know just by recognising great talent.
Unknown #008 (on the second 12" coming soon) was featured by Dummy mag, with Ellie Goulding picking up on it and posting it on her Facebook page. 17,000 hits on the track later the speculation grew, with the tracks being attributed to Skrillex, Four Tet & even Burial.
Unknown still remains unknown, a person with a hotmail account and a youtube channel.

Back in 2007, a track titled 'Mini Man' was released by a stranger to the audience 18 year old artist named Alex Dimou. The title might have been the best one to describe the person behind the track, the mini man, a kid with such a passion and will to demand a place in the grown up's world. And he made it. 'Mini Man' charted 7 out of 9 tracks included in the release, something that could not pass unnoticed from the Tech house community.

Bio:  Solange is an American singer-songwriter, actress, model, dancer, andDJ. Knowles was born and raised in Houston, Texas along with her older sister singer Beyoncé. Showing an interest in music recording at an early age, she eventually broke into the music scene at 16. Waze & Odyssey take a break from launching their own label, providing a guest mix for Skream and Benga's radio show and remixing the likes of TEED and Disclosure to return to Disco Bloodbath Recordings, where they provided a much acclaimed remix to the label's debut release, Damon Martin - 'That Ain't Right', earlier this year.

Following the great reception of 'Hiverned 01' here's the second installment of Hivern's edit series.
In the A Side, TB's 'Invitation To Love', a highly anticipated track that's finally released after becoming a fixture in John Talabot's sets. Based on Twin Peaks OST's 'Laura Palmer's Theme', the track rephrases Angelo Badalamenti's clas- sic from an acid house perspective. Adding analog rhythms and a crispy bassli- ne to the ethereal chords of the original composition, this refix manages to keep the dream-like atmospheres of the song while transforming it into dancefloor- ready groove. The idea is simple, the results are magic.
On the flip, Marc Pin~ol repeats appearance on the series revamping some lost australian minimal-wave track. In the vein of his previous 'Wheels' edit, the track conjures gloomy atmospheres and sparse rhythms with gritty synth melodies. On the top of it, the barcelonian producer adds dialogues from spanish cult art- house film 'Arrebato' (hence the title) multiplying the obscure ambience of the tune.

Once again, the release comes in a limited edition 10' wrapped in a handmade silk-screened sleeve. No digital and no-repress.

Once upon a very long time ago, the UNHIPILI decided to forget all about the truth by committing her to the sea. The sea dissolved and embraced the truth for many a tide. These were the times without music and sound, when human existence was exiled to the shadows that be. One day, though, something strange happened. It started with the white dolphin
IKE, who at one point simply forgot to move. This is how IKE found the truth. He let the waves bring him to the nearest island. He carefully put the truth back to land before returning to his ocean. The people on the island were saved. They spotted the truth on the beach, picked her up and dubbed her HUNA. From that day on, they dedicate their souls to HUNA. Sometimes passers-by would ask about HUNA, but receive an answer only in music and sound, gently flooding the beaches of their souls.

After the tense and dramatic soundscapes of Jason Letkiewicz's Nzambi LP under his soundtrack guise Alan Hurst, Emotional Response have put the tracks to the test for three appropriately oddball remixers. Fellow L.I.E.S. affiliate Terekke turns out a heavily sedated dub of "Nzambi" that rides a pacey house beat but buries everything in delay and reverb. Timothy J Fairplay brings some serious sleazy 80s electro tones to "Parallel Sensations", complete with predatory vocal and thick ladles of synthy goodness. Finally, Jonas Reinhardt cools off the intensity with a blissful ambient version of "Before The Dawn" which plunges headfirst into a warm bed of melodic drones.

Slow Town Records drops some intense and pure tracks by Joe Babylon (Roundabout Sounds, US), Tomas Es (Greece), Khalil (Tunisia) and Jesuon (Italy, Hypercolour). Chairlift present takes on several cuts from acclaimed second album Something by some of their favorite producers, showcasing how their songs can easily be adapted for the club.
Appropriately titled the 6.15AMix,Spanish equipo fantástico John Talabot and Pional turn I Belong In Your Arms into a balearica-infused club-closer. A nifty piano line and seductive rhythm take the song on a late night (or rather early morning) trip to the beach, while Caroline's voice is being warped into something from outer space. Photek takes the same track to a whole different place with his powerful jungle interpretation.

Kelpe's recent 'I Felt Fuzzy' EP on April was his first drop in a year and it dropped deep, selling out its vinyl run and attracting praise from all forms media, old and new. The muse was clearly high, new tracks were popping out and, with a serious banger of a remix from Neon Jung in the bag, it seemed only right to put out another EP quick sharp. Where 'I Felt Fuzzy' came in at 23 minutes and a whole side of remixes, here the focus is on Kelpe's own productions, and at 15 minutes with longer workouts leading the opening of each side, followed by shorter more beat-based works, it's very much the classic extended play single, something Svetlana Industries promotes as the perfect format for electronic music. Kicking off with a rolling, bouncing rhythm played live on kitchen pots and pans, title track 'Bags Of Time' s bounding forward motion belies its relatively relaxed speed. 110BPM is actually a classic Kelpe tempo, that territory between hip hop and house which only a few producers can properly drive. Also classic Kelpe is the fat analogue synth riff that holds down the bottom end, slowly morphing throughout the tune. 'Double Punt' is an elegant and more serious statement, the beat is less obvious, the chord sequence sombre, the sound levels building until it enters a synthy stew. It feels forboding, ambiguous, a new side to Kelpe. On the flip, Neon Jung's Wormhole Remix of 'Bags Of Time' is just breathless, conjuring up a dizzy vortex of sound right from the start. Audibly building on the same blocks as the original, but channeling a whole flow, this is contemporary UK dance music at its finest. At a club friendly 135bpm, it ties the heavy syncopated rhythm tracks of UK bass to an increasingly euphoric melody that peaks at a righteous, giddy and glorious frenzy. The EP's red lantern is 'City, a quiet belter with heavy heavy heavy analogue bass over understated drums, until a very pretty melody drops. With the flavours of classic electro hip hop fattened up for the new millennium, 'City' s synth parts are poetic and beautiful, and it's a subtle little treasure to close off the disc.

This second release from Ron Deacon on Farside Records is long and epic with three different stories and an Henry L & Ingo Sänger Remix. Recent releases from Leipzig's finest producer on high class imprints like Aim, Falkplatz, Workshop or Team have
put him on the map in the worldwide electronic circus.
"In Temptation" might be the most powerful dancefloor tune from Ron Deacon to date. With a tech-trancy edge this one keeps up tension with a very special harmonic twist, until it breaks down with a hip hop alike sample. Watch this killer tool destroy every club with the hooky beautiful chords in the second part. Simple, effective and straight on point.
The tune "Around Me" shows Ron's skills in arranging a beautiful harmonic slow house groover. "Did You Know" is an epic deep tech tune and shows off with a wink and the right dose of humour. Listen close to the sampled spoken words in German language. Soundwise the chords might remind of a fairy-tale with a heartfelt melody. Wonderful.
The Henry L & Ingo Sänger Remix of "Did You Know" uses the original harmonies and transfers the track into a little floor-friendly funky discofied tool. Watch out for some bassline business in here.

Rolling as a DJ, singer and rapper (but rarely over rap beats), and producing music that effortlessly weaves between influences, his talents are being drafted in and championed by a range of industry heavyweights. Aside from recent andupcoming vocal features for major leaguers like Deniz Kurtel, Soul Clap and close friends PillowTalk, the past year has also seen Navid remix the likes of Pezzner and Miguel Migs. The future holds much more with several EPs lined up for the 'crew love' label family (Wolf + Lamb and the forthcoming Soul Clap Records) as well as a full-length album that will see the young Renaissance man stretching his musical legs far and wide On the sublime debut EP for Double Standard Records, A-side 'Ain't Got The Time' pays homage to trippy, proto electronics but with Navid's forward-thinking attitude.

Compton is the second release from Discovery Recordings, who throw the monthly Discovery party in NYC. The parties residents and guests blend the lines of house, disco, and techno—and the label puts the vibe of their underground party to wax.

The EP comes from Chicago's Olin and Co. Processing. "Compton" kicks it off with hypnotic vocals made ready for the dance floor by an infectious rolling bass-line and filtered keys. "Oslo" is built on dueling arps and spacey percussion that together cultivate a swirling deepness. On remix duty, Glasgow's OOFT! delivers a dance floor ready rework with rooted in a chugging 303 and classic stabs, while Berlin's Nils Penner lays down a piece of work perfect for dimly lit rooms. As with the first Discovery release, they're hand stamped, vinyl only, and limited pressing.

Haven't heard the sounds of Bukarest yet Well, that's exactly where we went looking for
new underground talents. Rhadow meets NTFO have been busy building up the house
scene in Romania for the last couple of years and have come up with some very functional
and therefore quite effective and sophisticated club- and dance music. They added some
crispy claps to the track and made it a whole lot edgier with sharp piano hits and a groove
that moves a couple of gears up.

The title of the flipside of Mother004 might just convey one of the central elements our
label is about: The feeling of being exactly where you want to be, the warmth and the
comfort of the here and now. Why go home when home is exactly where you are When the
perfect moment is here, on the dancefloor, in a track, in a beautiful pair of mysterious eyes
on the other end of the room This is a track for these magnetic moments of the night. 'I
just want to go home', sings a laconic voice in a cool 80s sound esthetic while the hypnotic
beat tells you: Why would you How could you Stay hungry for more. Stay!

B2. Home (El_Txef_A & Fiakun Team Remix)
It must have to do with being Basque: Nothing about this tune is what you expect it to be.
El_Txef_A & Fiakun Team, after John Talabot and Pional the next hot export from Spain,
are a pair of musical libertines, delivering a free spirited remix that is one of a kind, be it for
the classical piano and flute elements that have a spheric loungy feel to it, be it for the way
they pitch the vocal and split it into pieces that they carefully reassemble to create a whole
new little world around it. This is music for aficionados, romantic in a non-cheesy way.
