eine Frage der Zeit, bis wir die nächste Trüffel im skandinavischen Unterholz aufspüren. Womit wir zu Taragana Pyjarama kommen, dessen Output als gleichermaßen raffiniert wie chaotisch wahrgenommen und von manchen schlicht als Märchen mit Bass beschrieben wird.

The second release of Downbeat Black label is for Vakula.
In A-side, he makes a homage to the brilliant artist, Kira Neris with a remix of his track With All is Might. The result is a super slow dreamy-house track with jazzy elements and steady progress.The second in A-side is Curve. Sometimes jazzy, sometimes obsessive and dreamer, it is the perfect addition to the Kira Neris remix.
In the other side, LBEAT is a slow piece of experimental 4x4 electronics with freaky percussion and a sick atmosphere. A naive piano provides the counterpoint to this unusual track.

A 3D sculptor born to parents that were also heavily involved with art, she moved from her home in Izmir Turkey to study in New York. There she met the Wolf + Lamb duo, quickly moving into the infamous Marcy Hotel and immersing herself into the colourful creative worlds of music and art. Her light installations have been featured at destinations as diverse as Lily Allen's Lucy in Disguise vintage clothing store in London, cult art festivals in her homeland of Turkey and have taken her on many pilgrimages to the vast deserts of Nevada for Burning Man. In fact Zev (the Wolf of the duo) bought her the first set of LEDs for the festival. An installation is also a permanent fixture at the Marcy.

With 'Motor: Nighttime World 3' Robert Hood returns to the project he first started on Austria's Cheap label back in 1995 and subsequently continued in 2000 on M-Plant. Fusing his trademark minimal techno into jazz inspired moods and inflections, Hood emerges from the smoke-lit shadows of a downbeat, but not beaten, Motor City metropolis. Inspired by Julien Temple's documentary 'Requiem For Detroit' Robert Hood examines the life, history and future of Detroit's motor industry and its workforce, set against a backdrop of decay, despair, hope and re-birth.

Diynamics new member duo Hunter/Game suprise with their first Diynamic release. The two young boys from Italy, Emmanuele Nicosia and Martino Bertola, bringing a really nice groove with them! incredibly beautiful single 'Where Do You Run To' by talented producer Kirill Monocle from Saint Petersburg.

from Audiofly and Philipp Jung from M.A.N.DY. They joined their forces to make first remix together. And this
remix is ace.

Here we go with the launch of MB Disco's sub label. It's a vinyl only label which will release all kind of edits from the coolest people all around the globe. We keep the family name MB and add EDITS, so, MB EDITS is the name.

First out is an edit of Chris Rea's Josephine. This Balearic classic hasn't been done too many times so we thought, let's do it. The two edits comes from Chris Coco and Dalminjo and both of them follow in the footstep of Todd Terje's edit of On The Beach. So expect two mixes which hasn't destryoed the original feeling of Rea's versions.

Mario basanov, THE Lithuanian super producer is coming back for more and for showing the other side of his multifaceted musical persona. Best known for catchy hooks, pop melodies and vocal productions, Mario delivers here two slow burners in form of Closer and Something About. Darker and deeper than one might expect Mario Basanov is at his best here. On remix duties are two fellows from the other side of Mario's studio wall - a dynamic duo of Saulty and Bradka better known as Downtown Party Network. The combo pitched up the tempo, beefed up the groove, and even added some euphoric stabs and strings for enhanced dance floor usability of the title track. Australian Michael Ozone, currently operating out of Melbourne, is an artist embodying the purest form of absurdist energy. This debut offering, is but of a fraction of the entertainment we can expect as his career zig-zags forward. "Perfect Systems" is a tuff native track based on the idea of man-made tools, technology and borrowed languages. Imagine failed cities overtaken by jungle life as you're swallowed by this utopian island groove. A not-so-distant relative on side-b, "Hetrotopia" leads us on a nomadic journey, exploring vast new landscapes and uncharted territories. References to New Beat and Horror soundtracks are apparent, but no matter what fantasies we infer from Ozone's music, his talent for crafting such fiction is a welcome addition to the ESP institute.

Following rather rapidly after TW5 comes TW6 from new boy Maricopa.

Over the years Scott Fraser has recorded and remixed for Emissions Audio Output, Black Nation, Wave Tech, Relish, Rush Hour and World Unknown to name but a few. His latest home is Bird Scarer for whom he has recorded 9 minutes of low slung Machine Funk loveliness (as featured on Mr Weatherall's recent "Masterpiece" mix set).
The B side comes courtesy of a remix by Mr Fairplay who more than reaches the high quality control he always sets himself.

Disconnected Sounds drop number four in their series with yet another debut EP.

Meakusma is releasing a 12'' compilation to coincide with their party in Eupen in September 2012. Four artists from the line up each deliver two tracks. Tase, linked to Atelier and Sex Tags Mania, delves deep with one ecstatic Industrial track that references weird Pop music and one slow, challenging and remorseless club track. Dreesvn, aka Dynamo Dresden and SVN, continue their by now famous eclectic production style with two dark, yet playful tunes that reference the darker end of the nineties Electro sound. Ssaliva, aka Cupp Cave, is a Belgian project that released a critically acclaimed mini-album in 2011. His two contributions are poppy and fun excursions into psychedelic dance music where melody, texture and rhythm always contradict and reinforce each other. Bepotel is a promising young band from Belgium, producing a hybrid between House, Ambient and Jazz. Their music is weirdly organic and wildly convincing. Artwork drawings by SVN.

While people are getting more and more frightened by each other; building walls instead of bridges, Bobby Bell tries to explore what makes us unified. He collects pieces of rhythm and senses that seem to have fall into oblivion in the city. The pieces that are the very constituents to keep the environment where we're living soulful and vibrant.
Bobby Bell thinks that the warmth and cold atmosphere of a city best can be described with crappy vintage synthesizers.

A few years ago I took a journey to Europe searching for a new sound.

People along the journey had been telling me about this guy from Tropea, Italy called DJ Steve (named after his favorite musician, Stevie Wonder).
He's a butcher there by day, but at night he's the DJ at a club called Casablanca. I made my way to this tiny town in the south of Italy and found DJ Steve.
His 12 hour DJ sets opened my eyes. This guy was the real deal. He was playing dubplates, vinyl, cassettes, and reel-to-reel's. All special edits he had done over the years.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
In late November of 2011 DJ Steve finally made his first visit outside of Italy and came to New York. He came on my Beats In Space radio show and blew everyone away. It was one of the most listened to mixes of the year. While he was in New York, I was able to record in a few of the dubplates of edits he had done. Those recordings are how we arrived at the release of "DJ Steve's Special Cuts #1 & #2". With this release we also started a new sub-label for Beats In Space Records. B.I.S. Records, Inc is for any of the edits or bootlegs we might come across. Expect to hear more from DJ Steve soon.

Although the album was made with the armchair rather than the podium in mind, their approach to musicmaking as not altered at all. Although neither plays an instrument, they use the mixing board as their Stratocaster or Rhodes, often adding effects live as the song plays. 'We do lots and lots of versions and mixes,' says Conrad. 'Then we edit stuff from one into another. We try and use as many different sound sources and lots of different musicians. We've tried to make this sound as good as possible, so we've gone all over the place recording things, like Oslo for Bugge Wesseltoft's piano,
our friend Andy Hopkins' for the drums and guitar and writing with Sally and Steve from A Man Called Adam in Cornwall.'
If this gives you the impression the duo have settled down, bought themselves knitted Arran sweaters, flutes and a subscription to Wallpaper*, you'd be wrong. Although the Idjuts are keen for the album to be a listening experience, they are already champing at the bit to start making dance versions (a 'drum and bassy dub' of 'Going Down' is already in the can). 'Hopefully enough of them will buy the LP and think, 'Yeah I don't mind wasting some more money on you fucking idiots.'' Or Idjuts, as the case may be. (Bill Brewster)

Somewhere between his East London studio 'The Odyssey' and a digital fantasy known as Metropolis, Quaid makes raw, emotive electronic music with just the right amount of analog freak.
Referencing his formative years spent listening to Prince and The Egyptian Lover and filtered via the deeper side of Detroit - the result is irrepressible machine funk.'.

One day while sharpening his hip-hop skills, the Prince sets up shop in his favorite studio; an oversized king bed in a pile of synthesizers, drum machines and keyboards. An abundance of classic samples overflowing with soulful fills inspired Baby Prince to record one of his most sensitive vocal messages to date. An ideas man, Baby Prince struggled to get the mix right and tight. So Lonely C swoops in, hits record and lays down the track in one clean shot. Ooohwee! 'I Want To Squeeze You' is born. The PillowTalk boys heard the new noise and accepted remix duties without question. Their results, The 'Phat Philly Remix,' is a timeless house version with a powerful vocal addition from Sammy D himself. Lace up yer raving kicks.

Some of you might recognize the name "Klic" from the wildly popular release on the brilliant Home Taping Is Killing Music release from last year that featuring the smash hit "Disco Music". Teaming up with fellow Londoner Lokiboi .. Klic makes their Kolour Recordings debut in sublime fashion with a couple of heavy, lo-slung joints. Coming off the back of their acclaimed self-titled debut album in September 2011, Montreal's alt-electronic duo Flowers and Sea Creatures step up with a new EP. First up is the brand new 'Head First Then Heart'. Gauzy, strung-out electronic Montreal pop. Second up, 'Head First Then Heart' (Ytre Rymden Dansskola Remix). Bouncy, summer Nordic disco from Prins Thomas protegees. Third up, Electronique (Lephtee Remix). Moody melancholic Detroit electronics from lone wolf, Lephtee. Say no more.

The boys are back....back with another banger too. Definitely the best
little label doing the rounds around these parts of late. Vienna's Luv
Shack Records continue with the good groove venturing once again into
suspenseful House and Disco. This time the turn of LeSale to pull out
the big thick juicy drums and chunky basslines for which Luv Shack is
making a very respectful name for itself. Guaranteed heavyweight thump
when you flop the needle to the left side every time with the Luv Shack.
Original mix of 'We Go Straight Ahead' gets us off to the pristine start
with a huge slice of modern Vienna Disco Funk. It's tight, it's tasty
and the tempting vocal teases to the max.
Burnin Tears tear away some of the Funk but add the energy in a proper
remix style for 'We Go Straight Ahead'. The big trademark claps from the
guys get the thing moving, and I mean moving. Style all the way too with
textures and woven sound giving it the elegant tactile quality which is
missing from so much of todays music.
B Side begins with 'What You Get' in its original guise. Again, another
thumping humping banger with a cheeky sample of something to tease the
living daylights out of you and me! Nice prodding too of the synth
aiding and abetting this classy little musical mood swinger. And what
about that 'little bell' I definitely want that shit on my new bike.
And finally, Jakobin & Domino get a shot to remix 'What You Get'. 'Last
but not least' goes the saying. Or should we say 'leave the best to
last' What a great remix from the J&D, flexing their musical muscles
big time with some seriously deep House. Just turn off the feekin'
lights for this one and get totally lost and submerged. A deep serene,
almost tranquil groove, I was just as comfortable listening to it lying
down on a sofa, as I would be dancing upright like a nutcase at a club.

Pedro Rompante is the Producer and DJ behind a long history of pseudonyms, who now stands out as himself, Rompante, and presents us with a new production line, clearly influenced by current electronic culture but, at the same time, reflecting an unique individual journey into the world of electronic music for the past 10 years.
Side 1 is How Low Can You Dance, An electronic Balearic groove, with bongo heavy percussion giving it an almost tribal feel reminiscent of early 90's Italian tracks like Mama Yehe. Building nicely to a synthy crescendo then hits the percussion groove again. Finlands Scandolearic warriors Ahiki pitch it down a little and add trademark guitar and some new vocals.
Side 2 contains the wonderful 'Treat'. A deeper, swirling, yet still percussive groove with that irresistable slo-mo vibe.
On the remix is the legend that is Charles Webster. His subtle production skills are used to maximum effect , pulling apart and deftly re-assembling the original elements into a deep house bomb with a slight nod to Detroit.
