It could be said they've ascended to maturity yet, in many ways, Ed Banger remains gleefully youthful, holding to the spirit of the party - a stable of DJ-producers with a huge sense of fun and old-fashioned loyalty to each other and their fans criss-crossing the world. The imprint's illustrious history and adventures have been documented in a new photographic book by label designer So Me called 'Travaile. Famille. Party' - Work. Family. Party. As Pedro explains 'After managing Daft Punk between 1996 and 2008 I wanted to create my own history. By creating Ed Banger records I launched my own musical adventure in a way. I learnt so much with Daft Punk, I owe them a lot. Celebrating this 10th anniversary is very emotional, I'm proud I managed to write a pretty nice musical chapter in my life. Daft Punk as chapter #1 and Ed Banger records as chapter #2 is pretty cool.

The first in a series of vinyl and digital releases from the INVISIBLE CITIES collective (i.e.: Luca C & Brigante + cosmic guests). 'Moments In Between' brings back the folk vocals of

Alessandro Parisi also known as Hesperius Draco from Portenone - Italy - and London based Timothy J Fairplay found themselves in the middle of an ice cold world, opening their wintery project with the Romance' soundtrack. The warm synth lines will single handedly set Moscow's frozen red square on fire. The Italian soundtrack synthesisers will touch the trans-siberian world and end with a slow burner named What Is To Be Done'.

Phil Mison says: "Ever since I first met Kenneth Bager at Roskilde Festival in 1992 (where I recognised him from photos in iD Magazine where his outlandish dress sense was very obvious!), we have been friends. It was the start of a long musical relationship and we eventually began working together. My first Cantoma album was recorded for Music For Dreams in early 2006. The Frontera project with Pete Herbert was realised a couple of years later.
Last year we decided it was time for something new, which led to recording AMBALA over the past year in Copenhagen together with musician and engineer Volmer. AMBALA is an album for dancing, relaxing and doing everything else in between, just enjoy!"

After having established their rule over the 12" format and turning your run-of-the-mill dance EP into a miniature opera in its own right, BLOND:ISH were bound to come up with a debut full-length at some point - but even so, WELCOME TO THE PRESENT drops as a major surprise: flexing the psychedelic and spiritual influences that already informed their LOVERS IN LIMBO EP (KOMPAKT 253), INWARD VISIONS (KOMPAKT 268) and WUNDERKAMMER (KOMPAKT 308), this new material presents itself not so much as the collection of DJ-ready peak-time bangers that some would've expected, but as what we admiringly would call a total trip. It sees the duo embark on a universal journey, departing from the club comfort zone and exploring the deeper shades of world electronica from within. Here, each track is part of a bigger story, accomplishing its role in a vibrant, colourful mix of electronic moods, field recordings, traditional instruments and polyglot vocals - a masterfully crafted and fully intoxicating soundscape unlike any other album debut out there.

Things start off in the most unassuming manner, when opener SHY GRASS lives up to its name and gently introduces a few fleeting chords to what sounds like the recording of casual child banter. The first real bass drum takes its sweet time to hit - and when it does, it does so like the wind caressing your cheek. It's a soothing, unadulterated chill-out vibe greeting the listener, followed by new age gem LOS PENSIAMENTOS and an aerial, highly immersive revamp of BLOND:ISH's classic club cut LUCY'S AFFAIR. It's only half-way through lead single ENDLESS GAMES - itself morphed into a special album-only version - that we indeed meet the first actual club beat. That's not an accident, but a very deliberate aesthetic choice - the result of what seems like the duo's very own alchemic procedure turning water into wine, and a multitude of disparate folkloric snippets into a blueprint for a unique new kind of ambient-infused dance floor.

Horsepower Productions, and their ever present head honcho Benny ill, revered in underground music circles as among the key early innovators of dubstep, return in 2016 with their much anticipated fourth album: 'Crooks, Crime & Corruption'.

Continuing their working relationship, which stretches back to the early days of 2000, for the design of the 'Crook, Crime & Corruption' packaging, Give Up Art drew on the visual language of law enforcement — creating rolls of custom printed 'Police tape'. Each plain, unprinted 12" sleeve is wrapped by hand in the tape, sealing in the discs, and making each pressing unique.

An ambitious and varied record, it finds the group expanding their horizons and broadening their sound palette, while maintaining the unparalleled production chops that first made them such a force in the scene.Their pioneering early singles sought to strip UK garage of its slickness, adopting a stripped-down, dubbed-out approach that emphasised roughness and powerful bass. This was music for real heads, not commercial dancefloors.'When You Hold Me / Let's Dance' launched the seminal Tempa label, and even the term 'dubstep' was first popularised in a 2002 XLR8R cover story about Horsepower. The 2002 debut album 'In Fine Style' stands as one of the finest documents to emerge from the UK undergroundl, while 'To The Rescue', which followed in 2004, saw the group play a vital role in shaping the direction of the music they had made possible. 'Quest For The Sonic Bounty' (2010) sees Benny and co. double down on their core strengths.It's certainly the most sonically varied Horsepower album yet. Rhythmically diverse, 'Bak 2 NY' and 'Kuriosity' unexpectedly draw from classic house, while 'Criminally Insane' is the perfect conclusion to the album, ten minutes of breakbeat madness evoking a crazed dash through rush hour London.If previous Horsepower records were defined in part by a commitment to darkness, then the new album sees a certain amount of light emerging through the cracks. Just check the summer BBQ vibes of 'Bak 2 NY', or the balmy shuffle of 'Curiosity'. At the other end of the spectrum the sticky weed paranoia and industrial clank of 'Ruf Justice', all gunfire and sirens over punishing sub-bass.Two of the tracks you might know already. 'Good Ole Dayz' and 'Justify' - originally released together as a 12' back in 2011 - both appear here in new versions. 'Good Ole Dayz' marries dubstep wobble with an explosion of colour, while the decidedly psychedelic 'Justify' (a collaboration with guitarist Harry Keyworth) falls somewhere between Hawaiian surf and Morricone western.The group's love of cinema has always been one of their defining stylistic traits, and it's in full evidence on 'Crooks, Crime & Corruption', there's a refreshing patience to these ten productions, and a stunning command of atmosphere.Immaculately constructed and immaculately realised, 'Crooks, Crime & Corruption' draws from numerous facets of the UK underground and further afield in order to take you on a compelling, wholly immersive journey.

Smallville boss Julius Steinhoff finishes on a high by delivering a signature piece of tightly-wound deepness with his take on 'Tales Of Love'; scaling back the sunny retro-disco of the duo's original for a taste of the classy and classicist house that Smallville is known and loved for.

Originally a drummer by trade, Ben 'Mr Assister' Assiter starting moving into the world of production with his 2014 release on 1-800-Dinosaur, the London based label of which he is a founding member. Since then, he has devoted more and more time to DJing, co-running the successful NASA (formerly 0800 DINOSAUR) monthly party with Dan Foat and Frank Tope, and touring America with the 1-800 Dinosaur crew. In February this year, Mr Assister was asked to remix 'Toura Toura' by New York-based group Innov Gnawa and his heavyweight offering was subqsequently premiered by The Ransom Note. To coincide with this release of this remix, Mr Assister also recorded a percussion-heavy mix for online magazine, Stamp The Wax, featuring 'Izma' from this release.

'Izma / Arland Rain' marks the inaugural release on Mr Assister's brand new label, BEAM. Though these tracks demonstrate a new exploration of slower tempos for Mr A, there is a sense of continuity in the percussive quality of the music, as well as its emphasis on lo-fi vinyl samples. 'Izma' has had several airings on James Blake's residency on BBC Radio 1, while 'Arland Rain' was recently premiered on Bradley Zero's Rhythm Section show on NTS radio.

As the waning of the final winter moon comes to an end, Chapter 24 enters the world of wax with its first 12-inch release. For this next story in sound, we welcome back Kurt Baggaley, whose wonderful 'Winterland' also receives the attentions of Patlac and Petar Dundov with two immaculate Editions.

The EP has been in the hands of a chosen few since the summer, and has already been played by Âme, Solomun and H.O.S.H. at some of the world's biggest festivals. To be released on vinyl only, this package is one not to be missed.

An artist who lives and breathes electronic music culture, Kurt Baggaley has evolved his productions into a unique and personal sound since his early days as the Electro artist Scape One. Taking in influences from early 80's Chicago House, Detroit Techno and New York Club, with a fusion of Italo Disco, Euro Synth and Electro, his huge Former Self EP on SoHaSo in Spring 2015 was met with widespread acclaim on both digital and physical formats. Supported by the likes of Michael Mayer and Dixon, it was followed up with his debut release on Chapter 24 a few months later, opening the book with his Spiral EP.

Winterland continues this momentum. The title track blows in a cold, enveloping wind of analogue synths and drum machines, swirling around a central arpeggio. Disco, minimal and electro influences are clearly to be heard in what amounts to a unique and compelling piece of electronic music.

Patlac takes the reins for the first Edition. With original releases on liebe*detail and Soulfooled and remixes for Pets Recordings, Noir and Musik Gewinnt Freunde, his music possesses an empathy for time, people and place. Retaining some of the disco influence of the original, this sensitive and thoughtful approach results in an energetic Edition driven by pushing rhythms and deep, powerful grooves, but also with a refined sense of harmony and melody.

The final Edition on the package is a fitting one, from Croatian maestro Petar Dundov, who occupies the flip side. Dundov makes intelligent electronic music that breaks boundaries. His breathtaking take on the original embodies this ethos, hitting home with body twisting beats while also challenging the mind with complex melodies and slow-burning, hypnotic progressions. In his masterful hands, the track takes on life of its own, forever evolving and expanding and increasing in intensity.

With the Winterland EP, Chapter 24 turns the page on its first volume of releases, closing the Aesop's Fables artwork series with a stunning linocut portrayal of 'The Wolf and the Crane' from in-house artist Simon Vaeth. The lessons from Aesop will make way for those of the Tarot, as the Book of Changes continues to shine a light on the wintry path ahead.

For its 3rd release, Malka Tuti is welcoming Khidja to the ever expanding family. The Romanian Duo appears to be in great form after their successful releases on Emotional Especial and Love on the Rocks. With their unique approach to production that combines recording alot of friends playing live instruments (Saz, Guitars, Violins, Persian Poetry just to name a few) and with references to obscure Fusion Jazz as well as to early Industrial and techno music, a very fertile and creative ground was made. Out of it Came Racheta El Fadaa, a unique slow hypnotic tune with some Arabic and Andalusian touches, that keeps on evolving, Drums of Taksim, a timeless tune, with the mesmerizing speech in the beginning followed by heavy bass and uncontrollable string grooves, and Monkey Tiger, a pure Industrial mid-tempo power track for all the chuggers out there to go mental to with its heavy baseline, screaming violins and dance floor scorching synth lines. On the remix to Drums of Taksim we find a collab between Turkish maestros Baris K & Mehmet Aslan, that strips the original down, pitches it up, and give the ep a bit of a mid-tempo house touch and a final seal of approval.

Konsequenterweise hat das Kölner Kollektiv Dorfjungs Erspartes und Arbeitskraft zusammengetragen, um mit DEEN seine dritte Schallplatte und dem dazugehörigen Verpackungsdesign 500 handgefertigte Unikate zu veröffentlichen. Marvin Horsch, der 2011 mit Pace den Grundstein für das Label legte, vervollständigt die EP mit drei weiteren sehr verschiedenen Tracks: Während die A-Seite dem euphorischen Klang des Titeltracks treu bleibt, finden sich auf der Rückseite zwei ausgefallene Stücke, die sich nachneuen Wegen im Club umzusehen scheinen.

'Around' might come as a surprise for many club-heads as Noir usually produces club tracks and is now moving into the 'electronic songs' area.
However 'Around' makes the perfect transition for Noir as it refletcs some of his trademark club-sounds mixed with the new melodic and more in-depth electronic sound.

Through dense layers of noise, brittle beats, found sounds and a general haze, Francis Harris returns to his own Scissor and Thread imprint, with the aid of frequent collaborator, and longtime friend, guitarist Gabe Hedrick, under the guise Aris Kindt. Following Harris' 2014 sophomore solo album, Minutes of Sleep,' (named Electronic Album of the Year by Mojo Magazine,) the duo's quintessential album debut, Floods,' takes as its focus, the late author W.G. Sebald's profound interpretation of Rembrandt's 1632 master work, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. Floods' is a sonic journey into the heart of the body, a bold rejuvenation of Adriaan Adriaanszoon (Aris Kindt), once a mere cadaver on a cold metal slab, now a living breathing human at the heart of a creative shift in vantage point from object to active subject. Much in the same way Rembrandt intended with the painting itself, Floods' attempts to subvert the listeners memory of a moment. Written within a span of over a year using an 808, a modular eurorack and two guitars, Floods' was mixed at Keyclub Recording Company in late August with Engineer Bill Skibbe. The album charts new territory for both Harris and Hedrick, melding a long history with electronic music and youthful love for indie noise, weaving in and out of near silence and sheering walls of sound with a gentle and constant heartbeat at its core. The dream-like murk of album opener Now Grey' sets the tone with thick pads, distant, ghostly guitar work and fragmented drums. On the title track, dubby chords set the tone, as subdued toms amble forward, with a crackling of fire nearby, as a dense sounds echo and swirl around into a climactic frenzy. This collection will be released digitally as well as on vinyl on 11th March 2016 The 2015 original LP combined traditional songwriting meets Catz 'N Dogz trademark infectious basslines; a natural result of extensive sonic exploration and the osmotic process of years of DJing worldwide, all the while developing a deeper understanding of what they want to deliver through their music. Arma continues to translate the club's unparalleled experience into vinyl format. 10th release from the label features Benjamin Brunn's track 'Gamma Delta Epsilon' followed with two remixes by Steve Summers and Alex Danilov. In the original version Brunn merges techno and futuristic house patterns into beautiful grotesque rhythm construction. Both retakes show authors at their best: Alex Danilov creates a deep cosmic mood slowing down the tempo and adding dreamlike poetic chords, Steve Summers boils track down to laconic strong-beat narrative. After the killer club versions of Bella Ciao, Leo Mas & Fabrice team up with Italian ambient master Gigi Masin to deliver the already legendary Laguna Mix.

As you probably know Gigi has worked on the label with Tempelhof (watch out for their sophomore album Tsuki...), has made albums as Gaussian Curve (with Young Marco and Johnny Nash) and has worked on many great modern classical albums.

His version is super slow, littered with emotive piano chords and breezy ambient atmospheres that make it perfect for sunsets.

Also on this 12", Leo and Fabrice combine once more for an On Air Remix that is invitingly sparse and gentle sways to and fro with gorgeous trumpets, twinkling keys and a slowly, blissfully building sense of Balearic tension.

In a time before CDJ loop buttons and stone-cold arrangement techniques, bonus beats and beat records were a vital tool for aspiring, working and tone-deaf DJs. The third release in an unofficial beat-tracks sublabel (se Redshape and Todd Osborn for further reference) 'Rhythm Trainx Vol 1 tries to breathe new life into that lost craft with an all-star cast: Manuel Tur, I:Cube, Blank Spanner, Disco Nihilist, Âme and Radio Slave. All in different BPM, varying styles and (un)fortunately a bit more than simple kick-drum-hi-hat patterns. Built to last.

MD Pallavi is a South-Indian singer and one of the most prominent protagonists of the traditional music scene in and around Bangalore.

Andi Otto (aka Springintgut) has collaborated with her in the past years in various theatre productions, and soon the world will hear their first track together. It's very good, and there is more to come in 2016!

Otto's composition for "Bangalore Whispers" creates the spine for Pallavi's virtuoso performance of carnatic (traditional South-Indian) syllables. The track pulses on 95 bpm with an organic cluster of piano, cello and psalterium strings, over which the vocals erupt in a mesmerizing vocal solo in the middle of the track.

The B-side "6-5-5-5" is made exclusively for this 7inch release. It builds upon a one-line-sample from a vintage Indian movie soundtrack and amplifiues this energy into a euphoric rhythm to which Otto bows the strings of a Psalterium (A beautiful east european string instrument, which Otto plays with two bows. It actually sounds similar to a sitar, when it's plucked).

Das Ding, one of the legends of Rotterdam, has been going since the early 80's with his label 'Tear Apart Tapes'. He had releases on the finest of imprints such as Minimal Wave. Now Midlight will issue a some heat by the artist in subject with pride. These excerpts from Das Ding's modular techno setup were originally released on cassette by Dehef, a most fine small imprint from Rotterdam.

Delsin present a new EP by B12 aka Steve Rutter entitled Orbiting Souls, a name which comes from the fact the veteran artist has recently spent contemplating the loss of a friend and believes we are surrounded by lost souls and spirits. This is B12's second EP this year following on from the Bokide 325 release on Soma Records and comes years after still acclaimed album like Electro-Soma and TimeTourist on Warp Records back in the 90s. Orbiting Souls is a somewhat complex journey, a representation of inner Bi Polar opposites; isolation; sadness, but also acknowledging the great and wonderful things around that swirl and support and energise us. A perfectly formed sound world that is both absorbing and cerebral and comes with a full colour sleeve by Boris Tellegen.

Shining Bird frontman Dane Taylor serves up a beautiful piece of mellow beach pop, drenched in antipodean sunshine. This is made for sipping cold drinks under palm tree shade or swinging hammock dreams. The flip sees Balearic Commander in chief Leo Mas and his ever present colonel Fabrice deliver a truly stunning piece of balearic chug. Deep ambient textures capturing the essence of a smiley sunset. Happy happy. Uber hitting the balearic nail on the head once more.

Castellari, the positive first album of MA Spaventi called "Viaggi" is landing. A real journey into obscure worlds, dirty streets, atomic sunsets, broken hearts and analog feelings, a blessing for your most romantic and cinematic essence. Love On The Rocks is back again for the second time in as many months, this time with a true summer release. With EPs for Sex Tags Ufo and Running Back causing a huge stir, Telephones goes even fur- ther, offering the beautiful Meditiranian house anthem that isLotusland and comes backed with remixes from Discodromo and Gatto Fritto no less. Up and coming is definitely a term that can be applied to Norway's Telephones. While adebut release on Full Pupp hinted at things to come, it was 2013's 'Rytmenarkotisk' on Sex Tags Ufo that signaled him to be a young producer with the golden touch. More than just another deep house pastiche, the track, plus the flip co-production with DJ Fett Burger was praised far and wide. The recent edits and reworks on the Pleasure Unit 1 EP and surely the breakout Ocean Called EP for Running Back means 2014 is Telephones year. Taking this further is Lotusland - here appearing in two distinct versions. An irrestible melody that takes the influences of early 90s NYC clubbing but with that uplifting European touch so loved by Italian producers of the day. With that Mediterranean thought in mind it seems apt to name the versions for their vibe - Sunrise and Sunset. Whichever, you decide. Italian duo Discodromo take Lotusland to a soft-waved shore to get some discoid sand between the toes, while finally good friend and stellar producer Gatto Fritto shows his genius with a spaced out Electro Boogie wig-out, full of laser lights and seductive reverbs. A very special release that takes continues never-ending magic of Norway producers but clearly with Telephones very own signature sound - this EP is pure ecstasy.

Rothmans are back with release 9 of their ever growing vinyl only, retro football themed label and this time paying homage to the silky smoth Italian Maestro Paolo Rossi we have Berlin based Israli duo David & Goliath. The debut release from this mysterious duo finds Rothmans bringing another new dimension to their already beautifully diverse rosta with another unique record. 2 original tracks from David & Goliath and in support on remix duties they welcome Manpower & The Claydermans to the Rothmans family. The first track Miracles of Erdine sees the guys bringing that slowed down chuggy sound that Rothmans are well renowned for whilst Nein ups the tempo a little more with a fat italo beat whilst both remaining to bring with them a unique sound oozes the Tel Aviv vibe. Bringing up the rear we have Manpower doing his thing the only way he knows how with a classic Manpower take on the track that enevatibley ends up kicking as hard as a Paolo Rossi penalty, and The Claydermans finish off the record with what can only be described as an absolute banger. If anyone wondered what the connection is between Tel Aviv & Berlin then I dont think you will hear a record this year that exemplifies it better than this . Rothmans score the winner yet again!
