Prolific doesn't begin to describe Japan's Keita Sano, who has come seemingly out of nowhere to become one of the most unique new voices in electronic music thanks to a wildly eclectic clutch of releases for much-hyped labels like 1080p, Joakim's Crowdspacer, Mister Saturday
Night, Spring Theory, Discos Capablanca and more. Building on that buzz, Sano is unleashing still more head-twisting takes on house and techno via New York's Most Excellent Unlimited.

Label boss Paul Raffaele has found a kindred spirit in Sano. Their shared love of classic dance music and refusal to let genre or convention define their work makes MXU a natural home for the Sunset EP,' coming as it does on the heels of the category-smashing Oyama Edit' 12' and a 7' of drum track edits by disco king Danny Krivit. Diverse and unafraid to upend expectation, its hard to imagine a party where at least one of these jams wouldn't set things off.

The title track mixes discoid guitars with lush pads and a echoing handclaps, anchored by a deep, chugging bass line. It's the kind of track that's begging for a dance floor building towards hands-in- the-air release. Chango' shows off Sano's rhythmic proficiency and fondness for killer samples, tweaking the raved-out formula of Onion Slice' for deeper dance floors.

The drum attack continues on Nothing For Nothing' which pairs a massive batucada groove with ecstatic synths, whistles and afro-inflected strings carrying the melodic weight. Sano closes out the proceedings with a deft rendition of the sort of fuzzed out techno that's coming in waves on labels like Lobster Theremin. Changing the mood dramatically, Daze' substitutes a storming distorted kick for the sampled drums that came before, layering fuzzed out claps, martial snare patters, spaced- out cymbals, and miasmic synths that strobe like a rescue beacon on a dance floor flooded with smoke.

Rotten City Records welcomes a new citizen, but not a newcomer tothe scene. He is Luca Rocca atagliati, best known as Dj Rocca, a veteran dj and producer from Italy,half Ajello, half Supersonic Lovers, half fromCrimea , a third ofElectric Tree and regular contributor with legendary Dj's like Daniele Baldelli or Dimitri From aris. After his multiple releases on labels like Is It Balearic , Nang or Futureboogie, Luca joins to our beloved rotten city with two original tracks showing his darker, narcotic and narrative side, concocting a bizarre and labyrinthine disco, which develops a spiral shaped staircase from the inside. He is the same Dj Rocca away from the cliches, who seek for more punch, more flexible rhythms, heartfelt emotions, and does not pursue the easy impact. Channa Six and Popi box are composed during a period in which he was searching for new sounds, creating a sort of cosmic pshychedelic aggressive taste of sound as far as Channa Six is concernid and a soundtrack abstract style in regards to Popi Box. Technically the tracks are based on a main arp, thanks to his new toy (at the time) Doepfer Dark Time, and both tracks have that spooky sound thanks to the Korg Trident synth which is a champion within the retro future sound. Many influences can be named here: Firstly, Channa Six was composed when he was really into listening to albums from Liaison Dangerous, Shock Corridor and Shrieckback... that sort of new wave sick electro with a huge mental big emotional atmosphere are very prensent in the track.Popi Box was made when Luca was really addicted to Soderbergh's The Knick series,and the Cliff Martinez soundtrack really blew his mind at the time. That is also very noticiable. The Ep is complemented by the personal approaches of British MR TC (Optimo Music) and the legendary Justin Robertson (Deadstock 33s). Thefirst one, if possible, makes the original a bit more druggy, while the second cut makes Popi Box sound more mechanical and industrial, creating that feeling of waiting for euphoria to break down. Insane.

Munich pair Jorkes continue to build a nice head of steam with a third new single. Entitled 'Mindemania', it comes once more on the small but well formed Freeride Millenium label with a great remix from Nikkname. Little is known about Jorkes other than they have a magpie approach to sound: anything goes with them, taking cues from a wide musical sphere but always distilling them into their own unique offerings. Their last release was a sumptuous slo-mo affair that got played and dance to far and wide and this new cut is just as likely to standout from the crowd. Say the pair of the release, "this is a journey through the night. Through everything that keeps us moving." The scintillating single is the sort of thing to slowly sweep you off your feet with its skyward synths extending out from broody drums. Dreamy yet propulsive, it takes you amongst the clouds before falling apart with gentle percussive hits and tumbling keys. Freeform and loose, it is fresh sounding indeed. The Lovegasm Version "adds the erotica to your night you were praying for" according to those behind it, and they are not wrong. It is a more beat driven affair with drifting vocal sounds bringing a certain steaminess to the groove. Finally you are invited to surrender yourself to ambient magician Nikkname and his interpretation of how deep a journey can go. Over eight minutes he embeds you at the centre of spiralling pads, with harmonic bell sounds and dark cosmic energies stretching out in all directions. It's a thoroughly absorbing affair, to be sure. We both think that musical identity is crucial' explains Cattaneo, and it's something that's stamped all over this sublime new double disc compilation comprising entirely of unreleased, exclusive material from the label's roster in collaboration with Balance Music.

For his third solo LP proper as L/F/D/M, the London-based producer/artist/designer jams, layers and hacks a clutch of new hardware toys, the Akai VX90 and Yamaha TX81Z in particular, into 11 variants of what is essentially a style of no wave or new beta techno.
Pursuing his taste for unique, visceral and affective electronic tones into odder integers of the club, L/F/D/M establishes a jagged line that runs from original '80s industrialists thru Larry Heard's legendary Gherkin Jerks and the scenius of Downwards' brummie radge packets to a place right between the eyes of 2017.
DJs and dancers will find full fat, wonky weapons ranging from the cranky-assed jacker Dance, You Awful Cunt, thru to a sludgy turn called Birds, a super-tangy Chicago percolator Texan Flower Girl, and the throaty acid gargle of Living Without Gain. But it's the way in which Richard Smith is just as happy to follow his nose into sparkling vignettes such as After R Version and Ballet, and into the grubby pits of Pinx that really gives this record its shape and asserts its messed-up character.

Julian Stetter might be best known as 'one half of the electronic pop duo VIMES', but he is no stranger to the Cologne club scene. His debut EP 'Insides' stems from a long history of djing and organising underground parties across the city. A resident DJ and collaborator at Cologne's famed JackWho club, it was these surroundings that drove Stetter to dive deep into producing. His first solo project is now set to be released on the label PNN. It features three tracks plus a remix by Beyou. Stetter's sound is polished and the precise production of each three tracks make this EP feel far from debut. 'Emily' is the first track set to be released this Friday. It draws you in on shimmering waves that rise and break into a deeper and spacier sound. Warm beats are interjected with random snippets of whale song. Listening to Emily feels like receiving a welcome hug at an after party.

Rob Shields is set to release debut album 'Green' on 27th January 2017 via new imprint YEN, a sister label of Needwant.

'Green' demonstrates Shields' desire to break away from the DJ/producer template. This is introspective music, music that aims to make the listener feel, to think, to conjure up images, to trigger memories, real or otherwise. The result of something that feels incredibly warm. It's aim is to provoke thought without words.

Shields' production style, favouring guitars and worn bits of hardware over cutting edge technology, contributes to much of the warmth. Much of the percussion is made up of his collection of instruments recorded from his East London home. Extracts of various field recordings lies throughout the album, with sources ranging from the exotic rivers and jungles in South America ('Green', 'Sleepness'), to the mundane objects found in his flat (a bath in 'Water', a sofa in 'Adjani').

The focus on warmth and texture has been documented on his releases to date, the melancholic 'Slum Room' single, the bubbling balearic 'Autocalm' EP and last year's dubby, slo-mo single 'Shards', gaining praise from artists like Maya Jane Coles, Groove Armada and Soul Clap.

The inaugural release on Mutual Friend Recordings is a collaboration between dc Sux and label owners Our Mutual Friend.

dc Sux is a producer that caught the ear of Radiohead collaborator Nigel Godrich (Atoms For Peace, Ultraista) in 2012, remixing Ultraista's 'Bad Insect' which was mastered by Godrich himself and included on the remix package of the groups debut album. Here his track 'Tulip' is an ethereal trip anchored by a warm bottom-end.

Our Mutual Friend have been DJ'ing together for a number of years, getting together recently to combine their production talents. Their remix of dc Sux 'Tulip' is the result of several live jams with the parts and their 909 drum machine, upping the pace and reinventing it for the dance floor.

'Body of Water' from Our Mutual Friend is as lush as it hypnotic, dc Sux remix of the track takes it techno. Mastering is courtesy of Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin and the run is limited to 200 records.

The second part in his Modernista initiation and this release sees Tom McConnell confirm his production versatility, merging diverse influences and sounds into a singular identity. 77 is rhodes-led house meets jazz, driven by drum box disco beats interspersed with surreal strings. Hurled Towards Jupiter is a suitably atmospheric (cosmic) track with swirling arpeggiated keys underpinned by a heavy bass line and off centre tribal percussion. Peacefoot follows its own path, morphing from a submerged disco loop into a slow polyrhythmic acidic burn and back again.

Daniel Broderick has been developing this collaborative project, inspired on the poem by acclaimed Columbian poet Raúl Gómez Jattin featuring Juan Carlos Puello 'El Chongo'.
He spent some time in Europe as a teen and was exposed to the rave scene, and when he returned home to Columbia became one of the architects of the Bagota rave scene. More widly known as Producer and DJ for Systema solar, who are one of Columbias most explosive live acts and have garnered support from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Lefto.
A hypnotic beat and a deep sound. The voice of Chongo stands out. He also interprets the alegre drum in this piece. El Leopardo brilliantly morph urban dub textures together with sparse Colombian percussion, spoken incantations and deep, hypnotic bass. El leopardo is like power from the wild.

Catz 'n Dogz ready the next 12" on their vinyl only PETS raw and refined offshoot - STEP. This comes in the follow up to records from A1 Bassline, Eduardo De La Calle, Andre Kronert and the label ownersthemselves and marks the return Das Komplex who offers up his 'All For Love' LP.
Hailing from Koszalin in Poland, Das Komplex is undoubtedly an artist of many talents - a full time Architect by trade, he has released material on Father And Son Records and Tapes label and also offered up the extolled and coveted 6th pressing on the STEP imprint back in August 2015 - a record that sold out rapidly after hitting the shelves. Now - his return marks the first foray into long-play formatfor STEP and allows Das Komplex to stretch his legs across 8 masterful Disco grooves.
D¿em kicks things off to a sunny start with sizzling guitar licks and softly pattering bongos before the slick Italo-tinged 'Obelisk' and the richly atmospheric 'Redukcja Dysonansu Poznawczego' follow up. The project spreads out towards the jubilant and dreamy 'All For Love' which leads into 'Brukiew' - an introverted but ultimately feel-good conclusion that wraps up a beautifully balmy collection and another coup for STEP.

Re-issue of A Thunder Orchestra's 'Shall I Do It', a haunting yet beautiful slice of hypnotic proto techno from the vaults of the rich eighties Belgian new beat / synth wave / EBM noir scene, written and recorded by Dirk Desaever (aka Danton's Voice & White House White) in 1985 and released on a handful of cassette tapes only. Re-discovered by Walhalla records and included on their 'Underground Wave Volume 4' compilation in 2014, now re-mastered and available on 12'' format for the first time ever. Things started to move when label boss Paul du Lac heard this gem being played by Germany's finest, Mick Wills, in one of his trademark epic dj-sets, with the pounding drums, haunting synths and the eerie kid's voice making him fall in love at the spot. It turned out Mick didn't play the original, but, like so often, his own re-edited version: slightly pitched, extended and re-constructed in an utterly brilliant way, perfectly suiting the darkest hours of the night. Eventually, intrigued as the label was with the song and being a big fan of mr. Will's editing craftsmanship, one thing led to the other, and Bio Rhythm is now proud to officially present the original A Thunder Orchestra's 'Shall I Do It' in the full glory it deserves, including two reconstructed versions by Mick Wills, one that starts with the intro just like the original and a special beat version for even more convenient dj use. The beauty of darkness... shall we do it Silk screen sleeve.

Only a few nuggets of information exist on The Valley and The Mountain. They/he/she hail(s) from Detroit. Previous work has featured on labels like WeMe and Shipwrec. That's it. And the mysterious producer has been quiet of late, but the return is well worth the wait. Gentle Waters Keep Moving is the first full length outing from TVTM and their/his/her most absorbing work to date. Sharpened edges are rounded, 303 squawk softened and rhythms mellowed as ten tracks of melting music is served. The Detroit denizen calls on the sounds of the hometown. Techno is at the album's heart but frosted touches of electro are present, warming acid twangs, house grooves with all being dipped in a refreshing undercurrent of electronica. A collection of tracks that draws you in, deeper and deeper, with every listen.

Here we see Italian brother duo Elia and Niro Perrone, release their debut long player in the shape of 'Pescaiola' the name of the suburbs the pair grew up and paying homage to their musical roots growing up together.

Across the duration of the 'Pescaiola' LP Easy To Remember serve up a amalgamation of raw and intriguing electronic, house and techno cuts. Opener 'Hanckora' lays down a lo-fi infused Hip Hop style to kick things off, while 'Checkma Dem' lies in similar territory with the addition of some vocal stylings as well.

For the most part though Easy To Remember lay the focus on emotive house music, title track 'Pescaiola' plays on multi-layered melodies and retro synths, 'Hijack Percussion' focuses on gritty rhythm and soft atmospherics and 'Try To Escape' brings to light ethereal synth leads and snaking bass grooves. The duo instil some funk influence into the LP as well via 'Feelings' and some experimental touches as well with their Giulio Etiope collaboration 'Degolas' amongst others. All in all Easy To Remember deliver a refreshing take on modern electronica across the project and further prove Unclear is a force to be reckoned with in the underground.

SAIFAM presents an exciting new triple CD series that traces the lounge sounds of three dream location: Formentera, Bali and Dubai. An exclusive product and collectibles, meant to be used in clubs, restaurants and other situations, lounge bar where you want to search for well-defined atmosphere that characterizes the various moments such as a particular event. 3 CDs for different moods: the first is lounge, the second is more lively, suitable for an "after-dinner", while the third is dedicated to the traditional sounds of the reference location. In total more than three hours of music for a complete and unique product in its form. This first volume is dedicated to Formentera, the chill island par excellence, with its baleariche sounds, immediately recognizable in the third CD (traditional), and with the typical percussive sounds of a dream island, recognizable in the second CD "groove" .

To celebrate Kontra-Musik Records hitting the ten-year mark, founder and label owner Ulf Eriksson has put together a collection of some of our finest releases. This has been a daunting task, for we are happy to announce that we could easily have made several very different compilations that we would have been equally contented with - there are so many superb tracks we had to leave out. This has, however, been a labour of love. Much like the label itself. Eclecticism has always been a lodestar for Ulf Eriksson, as we hope this collection gives testimony to. The label has always been moving freely between techno, house and more experimental sounds. Kontra-Musik intends to show different angels of perspective, not to convert you to a new Religion or Ideology. Being open to a broad variety of sounds and rhythms - judging them not solely by their functionality but rather by their personality - has been the Kontra-Musik way from day one. While it has been a crooked and sometimes exceedingly hard road to follow, we're hoping to carry on for several years to come. After 10 years, the label still feels meaningful and current to us - in short: it's still worth it. Kontra-Musik would like to thank everyone - from contributing artists to faithful friends of the label who have supported us all these years. None of this would have been possible without you.

Rothmans are back with their first real milestone as a label and what better way to celebrate the labels 10th record than honouring the greatest no10 of all time Diego Armando Maradona Franco.

In their first 3 seasons Rothmans have developed a reputation for throwing us curve ball after curve ball, and in what has without doubt been their best season yet off the back of Roth 8's house slammer with Aimes & Brassica, to Roth 9's Acid Arab chug from Naduve & co, they have once again thrown another huge spanner in the works (feels like 1986 all over again)

The Diego Maradona EP comes from Brooklyn based producer Cale Parks. Better known in the New York music scene as a professional drummer Cale has recently turned his hand to producing and off the back of some fine releases on HAKT (Have A Killer Time) , he has now found his way onto the Rothmans Teamsheet.
Track 1 - The Big Bust sounds like something you might hear as the opening to an Apparat album , the sweeping synths and beautifully scored piano remind me of the first time I watched Maradona leave Beardsley and Reid for dead in the centre circle of the Azteca Stadium on a hot evening in Mexico City.
Track 2- 9G steps up the pace a bit with a much more attacking Piano sound and darker synths that remind me of watching Diego charge right past Terry Butcher and storm towards the goal on that fateful night in Mexico.

The record is finished off with a banging breakbeat sounding remix by the delectable Eddie C that almost replicates the same energy, and kick ,as Maradona steaming into the box and beating Shilton to score the greatest goal in World Cup history.

All we can say is that Rothmans have delivered another masterclass of their own.

Not Waving's Ecstatic label catch Martin Jenkins (Pye Corner Audio) in Head Technician garb for a slippery set of slow, plasmic acid workouts that were originally issued on a super-limited tape,
and now sit heavy on wax.Over the years since he first mooted the PCA sound in 2010, Jenkins has used the Head Technician
alter ego as a sort of evil engineer Hyde analogous to his day-to-day Jekyll, a sort of hyperstitious studio partner in a time-honoured tradition of sleeve credits ghost chasing.
Where PCA's pieces may tend to be lustrous, optimistic, the Head Technician's Zones LP hems to the shadows of the 'floor with a furtive, noirish quality that works a treat in the right situations,
whether soundtracking gaslamp-lit raves or midnight street patrols seeking out ne'erdowells and laudanum dealers.
Fired on a classic trinity of Roland TR-606 drum machine with an MC-202 (a beast to program, he admits) and TB-303 to sequence his baselines, it clearly makes explicit reference to the early days
of Detroit techno and UK bleep 'n bass, but the vibe is more anachronistic, out-of-time, possibly thanks to his patented, lagging basslines and slowly unfolding arrangements, bridging that
imaginary, dilated gap between fuzzy dancefloor head melt and curtains-drawn next day gouch out.

Japanese producer Mahal, who had his debut on RHR 006, releases his first solo 12" with the deep and dubby single - Ongaku. On remix duties are notorious Lady Blacktronika (UQ, Sound Black) and RHR regular, HVL. Both offer mesmerizing and addictive interpretations of the original track.

For our milestone 50th release we felt we needed to do something special, so with that in mind we present the return of Red Axes to Correspondant.
Way back in 2013 we were a new label, and they were a new face on the scene.
Their hit record 'Camino de Dreyfus' helped propel both the label and the artist in to the established figures that both are today.
'Avalon' combines everything that's good about the Axes, with their signature New Wave sound taking in the tropics, but skewed through a middle eastern kaleidoscope.
'Sequência Astronomical' is familiar territory to many Red Axes releases, but takes everything either deeper, darker, or weirder than they've previously ventured, showing the huge growth in their confidence in the intervening 3 years since their last Correspondant EP.
To round off the package Correspondant also presents an as yet unavailable instrumental version of 'Camino De Dreyfus'.

Daniel Avery ramps up the atmosphere with an airy, drifting electronic mantra, pulsing with gliding motorik propulsion perfect for late night escapades.
On the flip side, BTU, an amalgamation of Phantasy producers Babe Terror and U, take album closer 'Third Mynd' and recast it as a mind opening sixteen minute collage of found sound, drone and atmosphere, a psychedelic opus befitting Jon Savage's otherworldly speech.
Two very distinct trips into the outer reaches of electronic sound. Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore...

The DEEWEE's say, "We met Bolis in 2006 via MySpace, and then later in real life when we toured Asia. To escape the unbearable boredom of his native Macao, Bolis had decided to try his hand at making electronic music - inspired by a Jean-Michel Jarre concert - and we have stayed in touch all these years. This record is the result of Bolis' visit to DEEWEE in Gent where he was enchanted by the world of analogue synths. We should also mention that Bolis had a previous life as South East Asia's number 2 Rubik's Cube champion

Kris- & Konflikthantering II/III (KLN008) features 4 tracks including songs from Harald's live repertoire as well as a remix of his Studio Barnhus debut Sabor Latino now interpreted by the queen of Pampa, Areal and Kompakt, Ada. Kris- & Konflikthantering is Swedish for 'crises and conflict management,' as well as a course at university guiding you how to manage scenarios involving crises and strategies in handling conflicts. This album was put together while Harald was taking this course. This album was made during semi-unconscious conditions and is an emotional transcription of experiences to the language of sequences and frequencies. The soundscape is a warm fuzzy travel from krauty basslines, vocal fragments and mantras through echoes and reverberating tunnels with shimmering arpeggios, field recordings and programed patterns in ancient Japanese Roland techniques. All recorded on the Studer B67 master tape recorder, the heart of the Kranglan Broadcast studio. The album is being released as a three episode series with exclusive remixes on the 12s. Kris- & Konflikthantering I/III (KLN007) features 4 tracks with traces from Harald's latest release Fritids EP on Studio Barnhus as well as a remix by Petter Nordkvist under yet another moniker... It is the first time Harald and Petter are on the same 12 since the Thunderpants era with Harald on the microphone and Petter behind the screen releasing on young John Dahlbäcks Pickadoll Records, time flies. Kris- & Konflikthantering III/III (KLN009) is the final ending with 2, 14-minute plus tracks. One dedicated to the ancient rave grounds of Hellasgarden where it all began in terms of dancing in dirty fields lit by sonar sweeps from the broadcast masts and strobes visible all the way to the city.
