Years after rumours of the mysterious Usio first started spreading, Studio Barnhus are finally ready to release the project's debut outing, an LP called Kuwa Huru. A five track masterpiece of pure 8o's influenced pop/funk/boogie from New York. Mastered by Herb Powers (Sade, Eric B. & Rakim, Sharon Redd, Evelyn Champagne King etc.) Inspired by the juggernaut pop albums recorded at Compass Point, Sunrise Highway blends Pop, Jazz, R+B and House Music into a melange that is modern, but familiar. The three members could almost be described as a "dance music supergroup" considering their collective pedigree. Tim Wagner is one of NYC's most potent producers, having earned his stripes with the boogie electro-funk driven 33HZ, and then building upon that legacy to create Dither Down Records, one of NYC's hottest tastemakers. Ask anyone who's anyone in dance music about Nick Chacona and they'll tell you he is one of the best, a DJ's DJ, but he's also a producer's producer, with a CV boasting hits on labels such as Mood Music, Buzzin Fly, Bearfunk, his collaboration with Roy Dank, Beg To Differ. Amy Douglas, has been called "the Queen of Nu Disco" by some, as in the last 4 years, she's made her mark, as feature vocalist for some of dance music's biggest bangers, with artists as diverse as Juan MacLean,Treasure Fingers, KON, Eli Escobar and DJ Sega. One listen to their collaboration by rising star, Tensnake, was all it took, and the trio was instantly signed to his True Romance label. Sunrise Highway make their international debut on May 5th.

Finally the moment has arrived for us to release new original music on our own label! This monster release has a history that takes us back more than four years to a 48 hour studio session at our beloved Marcy Hotel in Brooklyn, NY. The original collaborative effort came from a laundry list of familiar Crew Love players including Soul Clap's Charlie and Eli, Wolf + Lamb's Gadi Mizrahi, No Regular Play's Greg Paulus, the lovely Deniz Kurtel and even Mr. Fantastic himself, Lee Curtiss. After all was said and done the body and inspiration of the record was there but what was lacking was a strong vocal. Enter Robert Owens, arguably one of the most prolific and sonically recognizable singers in House music PERIOD. Soul Clap and Robert first met at the Garden Festival in Croatia in 2011 and had discussed writing music together ever since. Finally a date to record was booked at Alex Morris' Invader Music studios in London. Robert took Charlie's original vocal idea, written about a relationship gone awry and expanded it into a full on beautiful expression of heartbreak in his timeless style. This has been the story of how the Deep Mix was born, but we knew that we needed something for the club, so while on tour in Japan Eli stripped the session down to the bare essentials and added a killer bassline, Charlie wrote piano parts, pads from the Jupiter 6 and the Club Mix pieced itself together. Once Crew Love's Tanner Ross caught wind of the project he wanted in, hit the studio and delivered one of his signature explorations in bizarre musical minimalism with the added help of Greg Paulus on trumpet. For such an important release, we couldn't stop there and we reached out to our new friend and musical idol "Little" Louie Vega, who called the vocal "vintage Robert", then he blessed us with THREE magically unique journeys from rough and tough, to dancefloor deepness. One of these mixes and an instrumental will only be available on the double 12" vinyl release. Whew!!! The Antipodean tape peddler brings a dash of drum track exotica to his remix, leaving the Roland out in the sun long enough to fully harness the lilting patter of island rhythms. The fretless bassline is a white walled penthouse but no pavement as the Fox provides executive Balearic, free from the dust of Ibizan streets. As you step into the realm of the senses mystical melodies, spiritual vocals and circular bassline swirl around that rattling rhythm like a Nu Groove B-side lost in Rheji's luggage back in '89.

Two years ago The 2 Bears dropped a debut album that re-invigorated a genre and gathered music fans in the open embrace of house music. On October 13th they return with the second installment The Night Is Young, the eagerly awaited follow up released on Southern Fried.

Where debut smash Be Strong was rooted in their love for London, The Night Is Young takes on a more global vision. With a love for their home city still at its heart, the album pulls influences and experiences from across the world of dance music, drawing deeply from their trip to Africa last summer. As part of a project for Brixton based youth magazine Live, the duo played shows in Cape Town and Johannesburg and spent time recording in a studio run by BLKJKS's Tsepang Ramoba. The lead vocals for Son Of The Sun were recorded there with a young singer called Sbusiso and Kwaito legend Senyaka, who also added his vocal to lead single Angel (Touch Me).

Speeding through multiple genres, often condensed into single tracks, The Night Is Young lifts The 2 Bear's famed, eclectic DJ sets to higher realms, shifting the imperative to lose both body and mind distinctly up a gear. 'I love tunes that disguise things,' says Joe. 'A really sweet melody with a really dark sentiment. Money Man is meant to be like that, you can have those glossy reggae records that still say something. We didn't want to just be in that culture of not saying anything, where it's all a fantasy world and everyone just goes and gets f****d up but no one says anything.' It's a stark contrast and one that cleverly moves the full-on party hedonism of their debut forward, without sacrificing any of its unadulterated disco charm. The record undulates, it's like a taster menu; courses of hard house, soft reggae, punchy ragga, piano tear-jerkers, funk and soul, all made crystalline with the typically high level of production and the passion of Raf's voice.

The Lambsbread & Weepers EP, released on August 18th, shows the diversity of TNIY with the aforementioned Money Man, the soulful Get Out + bonus track Which Way.

Honing their craft with all the care and attention paid to a well-groomed patch of facial hair, Raf and Joe have bounced from Brixton to Tel Aviv via Cape Town, sharing the decks ever since their fateful incarnation, delivering a memorable blend of house, techno, ragga and more to almost every continent. A bearded pilgrimage if you will, and one that has coloured in the bold dancefloor-centric shapes of their second album The Night Is Young

Daniel Grau has recorded eight legendary LPs between 1974 and 1983; all of them never available outside of Venezuela though. Born 1948 in Caracas the thoroughbred musician first and foremost was one of the most sought-after studio engineers in his country. Almost any respectable artist in Venezuela (Vytas Brenner, Aldemaro Romero, Aditus, La Misma Gente etc.) was at least once in the El Palacio De La Musica-Studios taking advantage of Daniel Grau's mastery.
Just for the fun of it Grau asked some of the musicians who frequented the studio on a regular basis to use the free studio time to record some own songs and compositions under the name of - La Orquestra De Daniel Grau'. The fist two albums from 1974 and 1976, released under this moniker, already display perfectly what an adept composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass and keyboards) Grau was and still is. The influences and references, which characterize his entire, short and Venezuela-only career, are unmistakeable: North American Fusion Jazz, orchestral Bossa Nova and Latin American funk in the sense of Eumir Deodato and Sérgio Mendes.
Daniel Grau's variety of musical styles doesn't end here though. At the end of the 1970's he moved more and more towards disco music and incorporated what we today all call Cosmic Disco. And it's exactly this scene, which started to become a worldwide movement about ten years ago, which embraces now the forgotten work by Grau and numbers his eight albums among the 'holy grails' of this genre. Sonar Kollektiv member Class Brieler was aware of this when he visited Caracas in 2012 as part of the cultural exchange programme by the prestigious Goethe Institute. Together with befriended Venezuelan DJ Trujillo all the stops were pulled to make Daniel Grau's music accessible to a worldwide audience. In close dialogue with the by-now 66-years-old Daniel Grau the show case compilation at
hand was compiled. As a CD release it encompasses 27 of the best tracks out off Grau's archive. The vinyl edition confines itself over two LPs to the 15 tracks that are the most danceable. On both formats you find a new composition ('To Night'). More than thirty years after his last official release Daniel Grau returns with 'To Night' and looks ahead confidently.

This is Craig's eighth DJ Mix album, but this is his most personal, spanning the sonic landscape from the late 1980's to the present day. To say the arrival of the Swedish trio 'Monitor 66' onto the scene has been explosive would be a pretty big understatement. House of Disco Records is proud to have taken them under their proverbial wing for the labels first single release, the swede's ethereal anthem 'Triscuits'. This track made huge waves when first shown to the world gaining strong support from 'The Magician' and a whole host of others at the top of their game. The track itself floats somewhere between the dance floor and the cumulous clouds above, lulling you to sleep while at the same time invigorating you. Grounded by a vocal sample from an old Keith Sweat track 'Triscuits' glides on a bed of warm synths and vocal stabs that will haunt your memory and a breakdown that reminds you of the timeless nature of just plain old good music. House of Disco Records have recruited some serious talent to re-interpret and remix this one. Previous housemate Roberto Rodriguez, future housemate Dead Rose Music Company and just plain good mates PBR Steetgang.

Alexander Skancke makes his debut on Eskimo Recordings with the beautiful and compelling 'Found My Place', which will also appear on the forthcoming Green Collection. Deep electronic strings lead the almost melancholic yet balearic melody with luscious pads filling the low end and the infectious vocals from HEwrote flowing throughout for an overall emotive feel. No stranger to the label Vinny Villbass delivers two remixes. His first 'Tropical Mix' rolls with intricate percussion, sonic synths and plenty of groove, while his 'House Mix' is a deep house delight and one for the dance floor with a playful loop on the vocal and trippy synths. Local Berliner Oskar Offermann rounds off the release perfectly with his remix, adding a raw bass and sharp kick, with the warm synths and FX running throughout, this is another groovy addition for the dance floor.

78 EDITS strike again with another killer 12" for GLENVIEW RECORDS. Two booty shakin' disco edits: MILLIE JACKON's "PUT SOMETHING DOWN ON IT" b/w "I AM SOMEBODY" by GLEN JONES. Pressed at 45RPM and comes in the GLENVIEW custom die cut sleeve.

with debut EP 'Our Society'. Since then a well-received remix of the 90s house classic Giv Me Luv' and well-executed re-edits have further added to the buzz around the LA based outfit and their second EP 'Hidden Agenda' will no doubt fuel the fire of hype.

Picking up where 'Our Society' left off, 'Doe's Playas' and 'I Can't Understand' pursue a dusty groove led aesthetic made up of well-cut samples. Diva vocal snippets , tribal tinged beats and filtered basslines make for an irresistible feel good combination. 'Secret Agent' explores a deep techy house sound built around a playful filtered synth line and bouncey bass, primed for the dance floors.

It's a family affair as Grimy returns with heat from the windy city known for amazing dance edits. Tim McAllister takes it out the gate with "Rollin'", a classic soul/disco beater replete with joyous flute trills, Leslie speaker efx and a pumping house kick. In-demand newcomer Cratebug's "Get Up Move Your Body" is a spacious, cosmic edit of a little-remembered Canadian gem. The song ends with an intuitive synth jam that will be enjoyed by DJs and home listeners alike. Longtime Grimy associate Rahaan ends things with a bang. His largely original "Buari Traxx" mixes Ghanaian rhythms with killer disco bass and the nuanced, tracky drum programming you could find on a DanceMania record. The brilliant track is built for the floor and also serves as an apt transition into Grimy Trax, a sister label that will release all new music. Chicago's still burning.

This new release from the Balearica camp keeps up the pressure with another incredible selection of sun-drenched rarities. Getting things started is an awesome extended edit of Loredana Berte's 'In Alto Mare' - a Balearic disco gem previously only available on a hard to find Italian 7' from 1980. Then picking up the pace, we get the great deep piano groove of Soul II Soul's 'Happiness (dub)' which received heavy rotation both in Ibiza and beyond. Chicago house legends Ten City keep things bubbling with the superb 10 minute mix of 'One Kiss Will Make It Better' - a floorfilling, slo-mo house groover with great horn sections, topped off with a wonderful vocal performance from Byron Stingily at his best. Finishing off this great compilation is an extended edit of the fantastic sitar-driven groove of Slim's 'Arabian Disco' previously only available as a mega-rare French 7' from 1977. Don't miss out!

*Since 2009 XXXY, aka Rupert Taylor, has released a string of 12"s through labels like Infrasonics, Well Rounded and Ten Thousand Yen that have showed off his idiosyncratic takes on UK garage and bass-driven house. His debut for Rinse picks up where they left off, with three tracks of shimmering, synth-led house music, marked out by Taylor's distinctive spiralling melodies and sampled voices.
*'Got Me So' starts slowly, opening in a quiet cascade of Casio tones and a looped vocal, before abruptly exploding with the most muscular bassline Taylor's crafted to date. Towards its end it abruptly shifts up a notch in intensity, building to a gorgeous, string-led crescendo.
*'Get Ready' has a sweetness and positivity that harks more explicitly back to speed garage, hinged around swung drums, wordless voices and hefty four-to-the-floor kicks.
*The bundle is rounded off by 'Studio 9 (Just Like That)', it's most directly house-leaning track. It's house supercharged, though, lent momentum by snares and whiplash synths that rip through the mix.

The first release comes from Nautic - Laura Groves, Bullion and Tic with a remix in support from Open Space (the new moniker from Andrew Hale of Sade and Paul Byrne a.k.a. Apiento). Between them they have worked with (and on) R&S Records, Young Turks, FKA Twigs, Sade, Sweetback, World Unknown, Golf Channel and many many more. Tony's first release came via the first Magic Feet label sampler. Since then his releases have caught the attention of a number of acclaimed DJ's, with Daniel Avery citing one of Tonys tracks as one of the best he had heard last year.

This is Tonys first full vinyl release and shows exactly what he is capable of.
The title track 'Return Of The Oscillator' has had people running to the booth every time its been played from London to Croatia, as well as being fully road tested at ALFOS by Sean Johnston who also provides a superb remix under his Hardway Bros guise.

The second track 'Galactic' slows the pace down and is perfect for those warm up sets.

We all had our dreams when we were young. It's never too late to live them. This is basically what this special series which H.O.S.H. presents us here on Diynamic is all about. Consisting of 4 Releases with all together 8 Tracks on limited to 500 copies 10" Vinyls, each of the 8 tracks presents a character of a child dream. All 4 Covers of the series make a puzzle and form together one big picture. Also, each release will come along with a special video clearly connected with the theme FOREVER YOUNG and the chosen character. When all Vinyl and digital releases have been released there will also be one complete Album CD with all the tracks. DJ Mag Top 100 Poll returns in October 2014 with another outstanding line up. 2014 has been a fantastic year for dance music, with lots of fresh faces breaking through. Ministry of Sound and DJ Mag have proudly joined forces for the 3rd year running with a superb 2CD release including a selection of the Top 100 of 2014 across two CDs.

With the successful release of the 2013 edition, it is no surprise the largest dance music magazine has continued to collaborate with Ministry of Sound, the largest dance music label and internationally renowned club, to bring you an album packed with the world's biggest names and hottest club tracks - set for release on the 20th October.

CD 1 features the current leading names in the electronic dance music scene including Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Hardwell, Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, NERVO, deadmau5, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

CD 2 includes iconic acts that have pioneered trance and progressive house such as Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery, Orjan Nilsen, Dash Berlin, Markus Schulz and Cosmic Gate to name but a few.

To tie in with the album, DJ Mag are hosting the official Top 100 DJs poll announcement party at both Amsterdam's infamous ADE and in London in association at Brixton Academy on the 18th October - just in time for the release of the DJ Mag Top 100 2014 released the following day. Joel Hood makes escapist Friday night music heard through the haze of a foggy Monday morning. The North Yorkshireman's music transports you straight out of a cold working town and drops you into a hazy world of intercontinental sonic voyaging, taking in fragments of family holidays and adult travel adventures cut and pasted into instrumentals that evoke DJ Shadow, Twin Peaks and The Avalanches stargazing in the middle of nowhere, with Hood's voice weaving between it all.

Already profiled by the Guardian and Music Week plus picking up support from Rob Da Bank and BBC6Music, his debut EP for International Feel features four tracks of psychedelic fusion carrying hints of 80s nostalgia amidst hedonistic futurism.

Balearic maestro Max Essa joins the dots seamlessly between the ambient imaginings of Sakamoto, the Krautrock rhythms of Neu and the beach pop of Chris Rea , while making them all dance together like waves on the beach.

This is some of his very best work to date and demonstrates a producer at home at the controls and a real musician with a vision.

While many labels take it easy during the summer, lounging by the pool and getting a tan, we're doubling down with the soundtrack to a heavy night bathed only in strobe lights. For our latest release, the aptly named 'Freaks'/'Yeah' EP we've recruited UK legend Richard Norris to lead our latest foray into the darkest and sweatiest corners of the weekend

Best known for his contributions to storied projects like Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve (with Erol Alkan) and the Grid (with Dave Ball), to say nothing of his cosmic disco project, The Time and Space Machine, Norris here is sailing alias-free for the very first time.

As efficient as they are simple, the aptly named 'Freaks' and 'Yeah' are to the point, post midnight analog jams, what Norris calls basement filth. Three superb remixes complete the EP: The Hardway Bros make their second appearance on TOB with a storming version of 'Freaks,' dragging the original into Belgian new beat territory. Boot & Tax's Brioski also reworks 'Yeah' into a shuddering polyrhythmic chugger. Rounding out the EP is one of our all time favorites, the one-and-only Ivan Smagghe, who turns in a mind-bending 8 minute version of 'Freaks' that trades much of Norris's signature filth for 60's-era organs and hair grease
