Flash Cero started in Madrid in 1986 and with just a Roland Juno 60, one Casio 5000, a Simmons drum machine, some effects and basic equipment they recorded a demo with 6 tracks. After a few months the band finally got a contract with a Spanish label to record and release their debut album 1988'.
27 years later this influential and cult techno-pop album is back to life. All original tracks, 6 demo tracks and some live recordings have been remastered from the original tapes and a new artwork has been created with graphic material from band private archives.

It's been a long summer without the infectious draw of the triple-S voodoo guiding you towards the dance. When any sane individual should be nestling into furs and sheltering from the climatic downturn, we return with an urgent need for everyone to throw everything to the floor and make out with the music like the sun still beats down on your skull. There's a distinct sense that the unnamed vigilante behind this deviant dispatch of disco-fied diatribes likes nothing better than to burrow deep into the ground, unearthing every honey-coated bass lick and simmering drum hook you craved but were afraid to ask for. Trapped in the perpetual Friday night fever, with the rest of the weekend of your life stretching out ahead of you, on these here record grooves there is only the music, the moonlight, and you. Don't let the tone of the message fool you; there's still space for those more tender moments in this here party. Who doesn't love a slow jam when the mood is intimate and the company is right For that sweet spot of the revelry when you feel the dawn's afterglow, we have just the right tonic. Leave it to the Shimmy Sham Sham and its occult-enhanced band of beatsmiths to guide you towards the most righteous kind of party, and you too shall be spiritually sanctified. In the heat of the night, let those sweaty numbers melt down any worries. No top hat and gator shoes required... just shake that ass!

In 2016, the new Breakbot version 'one plus one' (Breakbot + Irfane) will release a second album, Still Waters, a new assortment of southern sunrays, with swinging images of dancefloors filled with guys in flowing trousers and bare-shouldered young girls. For this occasion, Breakbot and Irfane followed a well-oiled formula. They each cook-up outlines of rhythms and melodies that the two boys then modify, complete and prolong to reach a final draft. For Still Waters, which also contains 13 tracks, Breakbot have nonetheless tried out a few new moves: unlike the previous album, this one is more of a matrix with intricate workmanship, carved out with the help of old analogue machines rather than softwares. Some of these tracks were also happy accidents from improvisation sessions, ricochets of voices and chords born of old-school jamming sessions. Thirteen bouncy acts with Stevie Wonder and the Motown crowd in the background, spouts of funk and disco on a well-trodden dancefloor. Crafty ideas whipped-up in a vintage outfit with techno vibes and futuristic accelerations creating a perfectly current soundtrack. Tomorrow's retro. With Still Waters, Breakbot introduces its new head along with a new uniform. With the help of art director Philippe Jarrigeon, the guy wearing short shorts and knee-high socks has become a character in a cocktail coloured costume, like a Florida prince. Image on music.

Back in soviet times when the official local music market was controlled by the biggest record monopoly in history "Melodiya", many local musicians who wanted to express themselves in actual form, released tapes themselves and spread it through a big underground market network called "Magnitizdat" (short of Magnetic Tape Release). It began in the 60s with soviet rock movement and illegal copies of foreign music which got through border with tourists, seamen and diplomats. In the late 80s you could find there many different shades of music from underground protest rock, post punk, avant-garde to a lot of electronic pop, local kind of italo disco and dj's mixtapes with a personal rap on top of it. Plus Seven Records begins a sublable series of remastered edits which narrate about dance part of this story.

Brame (Tiarnan Mc Morrow to his parents) is an upcoming young producer from Sligo/Ireland. The 20-year old is on the run to spread his music and we honestly believe that he deserves to be heard. Having lined up EP's on Saft, Morris Audio and Deep Down Slam as well as his current EP on Dirt Crew with his buddi Halo and remixes for Washerman and many others to come it's just a matter of time for him to be recognised the way he deserves it.

incl collabs with Etienne de Crécy, Alex Gopher, Zombie Nation & John Roman) 'Collaborations' is an ep on which The Subs joined forces with both iconic names and underground producers
'We should really work together one day.' There's no bigger cliché to be heard in backstage areas, that mythical transit zone where producers and deejays meet, chat and then hop on their tour buses again. Belgian dance-act The Subs heroically plotted collaborations with fellow musicians in various dressing rooms across the globe. What is truly heroic is that in their case, those nightly encounters led up to actual music, and some damn fine music too.
'Collaborations' is an ep on which The Subs joined forces with both iconic names and underground producers like Etienne de Crécy, Alex Gopher, Zombie Nation & John Roman.
A new album is planned for . With this EP however, The Subs confirm their firm roots in the club scene.

Youth Stand Up! is a collaborative recording project between Glasgow's Green Door Studio, Lebeha Drumming Center in Hopkins, Belize, and the Tafi Cultural Institute based in Tafi Atome, Ghana. The results of the collaboration are this nine track album released on Autonomous Africa . All proceeds from the Youth Stand Up! album sales will be split between Tuteme Band, Belize and Tafi Cultural Institute's fund to build their recording studio and cultural centre. There will be two 12"s released in late 2015 / early 2016 featuring remixes of tracks from the album by JD Twitch, Midland, Auntie Flo and Hodge. The 12"s will eau also include an additional bonus track recorded at the original sessions.
The aim of the project was to see what would happen if young musicians from opposite sides of the world were given the opportunity to cook up a musical melting pot of West African, Caribbean, and contemporary Glaswegian music. When Green Door Studio's Emily MacLaren approached JD Twitch from Optimo Music/Autonomous Africa with the idea of an international album project involving musicians spread across three different continents he said he would happily release the results.
The studio recruited a total of 11 young musicians from Glasgow bands such as Golden Teacher, Whilst, Psychic Soviets, and Froth to work with 7 young Ghanaian musicians making Hiplife and Borborbor music and 5 young Belizian musicians from Tuteme Band, who played traditional Garifuna music at Lebeha Drumming Center. The Glaswegian musicians came from a variety of musical backgrounds including electronic music, post punk, and free jazz, with the youngest still studying music at school.
While Ghana's rich history of Highlife music is well documented, the traditional Borborbor music of the Volta region, where Tafi Atome is situated, has not been given much exposure. And in Belize, the traditional rhythms of the Garifuna Afro Caribbean community fuse ancestral West African roots with Latin American energy. The Ghanaian and Belizean musicians, whilst practicing traditional BorBorBor and Garifuna rhythms, also shared a strong passion for Jamaican Dancehall and international Hip Hop.

The 3rd in Tee Mango's Tribute project, inspired by the much referenced Theo Parrish quote:
Love of the music should be the driving force of any producer, performer or DJ.
Everything else stems from that core, that love. With that love, sampling can become a tribute; An expansion on ideas long forgotten, reconstruction, collage.
Talk 2 Heris the 1st track here. Acoustic guitars melt slowly into thick loose rhodes and held 101 licks, with a Classic (Def Mix produced) vocal loop glueing the whole thing together.
The arrangement is uncomplicated and obviously influenced by the detroit legends he clearly holds in high regard and as such the quality of the elements are allowed to shine through. Proper house music.
Drumspeak is warehouse disco. A selection of simple elements strung together with care. Held strings, chord stabs & bubbling filters, with the weighty drums carrying the whole track on their broad manly shoulders. As the sample emerges from the filter through the dry ice, it brings with it.... a lady of the night, a baggy of something suspicious and... the party.
The last #Tribute release sold double quick, my hunch is that these will not hang about.
Strictly Limited to 500

The land of Blah Blah comes again with another very strong package of classy originals and very special edits from the anonymous Balearic boffins. Opens with 'Compass Smokers', a classic from the early eighties, originally made by U2 producer Daniel Lanois and played by Ibiza legend Alfredo. KBE have edited it into a dubby melting pot, repeating the Grace Jones-style chorus, adding Wally Badarou-esque keys and bang you have a winner for the 2015 dance floor. 'Not Med Theny is an original KBE-discovered hidden gem - a beautiful sunset tune with hints of some famous Balearic artists as the title suggests - the perfect DJ secret weapon oozing pure class and beauty with its melodic jazzy guitar and emotional keys bringing back memories of Jose Padilla at Cafe Del Mar in the early 90s. Flip over for 'Paris In Reeed' edited by JM, an Italian with many releases under his belt. Theatrical and Balearic at the same time, the instantly recognizable and hooky accordion blends with newly added dynamic beats to make a futuristic Balearic classic. Closing this value-for-money package is 'Balearic Generation', a perfect Swedish groover recently rediscovered bt Malmø's Wild Life crew but here extended, looped and edited by the mysterious Mr Riolo. Limited vinyl - don't sleep ...

Not much is known about Manchester based producer Belly, his online profile merely states 'Live artist & vocalist from the UK'. What we do know is that he releases records on his own imprint 'Belly Dance UK' and that the 3rd instalment in this series (produced by LA's Seth Cobblepot) is yet again hard hitting and dark.
Following on from the previous 2 records, featuring Timothy J Fairplay & Headman respectively, he has invited 2 more underground powerhouses, Brassica & Thinnen, to contribute their takes on his new EP simply entitled 'Water'
The original track follows the same Dark breakBeat theme that runs through the first 2 records , powerful vocals floating over layers & layers & LAYERS of synth parts that bring something new to the mix with every single listen. Thinnen's remix keeps similar themes but adds the kind of break drums that DJ Shadow would have been proud of. Then in comes Brassica who completely turns the record on its head with a completely overcharged, 90's acid remix that unfolds into a killer bass and breakbeat drop. A guest remix from Gummerson completes another re-fined record from camp Belly.

Taking Chris Munoz's (aka The Sexican's) take on 'Sometimes' from the forthcoming Spike remix LP 'Orange Cloud Version' as its starting point, Golf Channel favourite Justin Van Der Volgen shunts this bad boy that little bit further through the doors of the club, puts something on its tongue and kicks it into the big room.
Beefy drums, a stoopid fresh bass line, big vocals and a tough, explosive, rocky guitar riff ensure this one has anthem written all over it.
' Flip over for 4 more unheard Spike gems, little lost nuggets that didn't find their way on to the much loved LP 'Orange Cloud Nine' but need to be heard: 'You Can Do It' is much in demand already amongst those that know, and the closing cut 'Careful' is a fragile beauty. All songs unavailable elsewhere! Except of course on the impossible to find privately pressed OG copies :)
Golf Channel every time !

Trying to go deeper with this one, the feature cut is a transformation of disco tune into a jacking house groove with techno sensibilities, can be played on a huge system in a techno set and sound right, and the rest is exploration.
Rare controversy era prince with gary numan keys, a 90 second piece from liaisons dangeruses' first project CH BB transformed into a monster, and a 1980 jam from sci-fi rockers chrome revisioned.

Damien Lynch is a gentleman you've met in a past life. Emerging with this debut, he steps nicely into a home at the ESP Institute. On side A, we're invited to The Heights, a transcendent state
where the negative space between the notes is equally as important as his lush instrumentation. Damien's build-up of warm analogue machines twinkle and stab, leading way to a memorable
hook, a squelching chord melody full of live nuance and energy. On side B, Safe House plays out a similar theme in terms of arrangement, however, the ethereal space Damien creates with
the kalimba and driving arpeggios elevates us to an even higher plane, where his lead floats gracefully across the stereo spectrum, blanketing the fast-paced rhythms with a calming sense
of purity. We're serious when we say that these two songs will guide you toward enlightenment.

Our dance floor shattering collection returns once again as Trash The Wax # 3 lands & leaves a trail of raised hands along the way.
The vinyl taster picks four of the best from the latest compilation and kicks things off with a collaboration between our very own boy wonder Chris Massey and Homoelectric's Will Tramp to deliver Red Room Disco. It's a full on sweat box banger with big wobbly bass, diva style vocals and drops that gives a tip of the hat to the aforementioned Manchester club night for twisted sleazy people. Former 2020 Soundsystem chap Julian Sanza turns in The French Mistake which sounds a bit more Italian than its Parisian name. With a solid low end stomp partnered by snappy percussion, hypnotic synth stabs & soaring strings, this is one to file under perfect mood setter. On the flip, Tromso's Kohib drops Talk To Me that sounds like the bastard lovechild from Optimo and Erol Alkan's (sadly missed) Trash night. With a Kraftwerk-esque vocal and raspy siren synth alongside a low slung murky bassline, it all adds up to the greatness!
Spiral comes from Seen On TV and is all kinds of Italo brilliance. Arp bassline Check. Stabby synths Check. Weird wonky honky-tonk pianos Check! This is definitely the kind of thing to drop in a set to catch them off guard and go down a wonkier route....Massive DJ Harvey vibes!

Jason Kincade aka The Mayor writes: I've been given the task of writing about three new instalments in the channel xxx series, inspired by the late, great Mangiami restaurant.
From 2006 until its lamented closing in 2012 Mangiami was the downtown clubhouse for a very New York cross-section of DJs, artists, musicians, fashion people, music obsessives and assorted layabouts.
On any given night of the week you knew that within an hour of sitting down at the bar any number of your friends would soon appear, and be entertained by the massively charming owner, Gianfranco.
Then there were the DJ nights. Every Monday (and later Wednesday) from after work until far too late on a weeknight pretty much a who's who of local heroes and international superstars would play on the rickety old Technics sat on the bar, with mayhem and general debauchery to follow.
It wouldn't be a surprise to come in one night and find DJ Harvey at a table with Tim Sweeney next to Alex from Tokyo and Bing Ji Ling with Eric Duncan manning the decks and 100 people crowded into the tiny space and spilling out into the street.
These three 12s by some of the artists that frequented Mangiami, coming in advance of a compilation of original material on Golf Channel, are a pretty accurate view of what went on there.
From low-slung fuzzed out sleaze through gritty roadhouse blues via stringy guitar solo led disco to bubbly, infectious afro disco and finally dubby, reverb-ed out sheer lying on the floor madness there is something for all moods to reflect the eclectic shenanigans that went on in that now hallowed space.
Whilst I am not at liberty to reveal the identities behind these recordings, the word 'luminaries' definitely springs to mind - cop the vinyl and all will be revealed.
They're about to roll down the shutters! Get in!

Acid house pioneer Jaime Read is one of the few UK artists who has had the dubious honour of being ripped off by Chicago house royalty. Never one to let this early setback hold him back, Jaime has gone on to an illustrious career, producing great music since the early nineties, and more recently in collaboration with legendary UK deejay Felix Dickinson under the name L.H.A.S. inc (Larry Heard Appreciation Society).
This 4 track solo EP sees him mastering a variety of styles.
The opener is a dreamy emotional R&B number called 'Is it Real What U Feel' which features a gorgeous vocal turn from Jaime himself.
'Kaanlile' floats a sumptuous melodica line over some mellow electro influenced acid. Deep cut 'Rolling Dreams' has slinky piano, soaring house strings, more vocals and strong ecstasy vibes. Finally, 'A Night In Shirley' closes out the ep in a beautiful boogie influenced, relentless but mellow groove.

BORUSIADE - Jeopardy 'I know I heard your voice. Like a phantom frequency wrapped in the news of a dying world.'- Borusiade
Welcome to a nocturnal show of climbing creatures and warm moving bodies, strangely familiar voices on lonely nightrides, and hair-raising déjà-vus of forgotten dreams. Welcome to her first EP: Jeopardy. Welcome to the world of Borusiade.
Miruna Boruzescu, DJ and producer from Bucharest, descended from Saturn's sphere through various channels of transmission such as: the mesmerising show "Dreamcatcher" on Radio Cómeme, Gudrun Gut's "Expartriarch Generations", Berlin's gay classic "SchwuZ", and in living colour at night from Milano to Mars. 2016 will see her visions coagulated into black vinyl, not only on Cómeme but also on Jennifer Cardini's Correspondant, obviously choosing labels opposed to the genre-abiding underground neocons.
The soundtrack to her Saturn return - a period of loss, transformation and empowerment, soaks us in during the very first bars of Spellbound (Surrender), opening a velvet drape to a hallucinogenic dramatic play of sensualities, sexualities, emotional and physical bondage. Could a film score in a parallel world when doppelgangers of Bela Tarr and John Carpenter team up with Bela Lugosi sound like this How would these melodies work underlying the imagery of Tarkovsky's Solaris or Stalker
They not only evoke visions but sweetly poison our bodies on non-documented dance floors. It is here where the queer souls abandon their precarious conditions in society to turn into blooming night shades.
The trip continues with the energy driven Haunted By Flashlights, an electronic body trance of exciting anxiety where lampposts passing by at high velocity turn into strobe: A real nightlife flip book of self forgotten corporal mannerisms.
The title track Jeopardy
leads you with the help of a technolover's
groove through a modern epiphany, wrapped in Borusiade's softly swinging voice: "When I was listening to the radio the other day... It struck me... I thought I heard your voice... it was a weird noise... a powerful wave... like a whirlwind of sound... It hit me to the ground..."
Rescue seems to stand erected with the monumentality of a greek statue, the melancholy of artifacts from lost civilisations, a slow eruption of cosmogony and rebirth, and ever repeating, inevitable human tragedy. Closing tune Dancer's Doom brings to clarity that this is the beginning of a story that will be continued in other chapters of our lives, through further vibrations of Borusiade's urged transmissions. The enormous drums plus its ever climbing synth arpeggios, trigger our body's chemical rush and makes us long for more. And more.
The Jeopardy EP was written and produced by Borusiade. Final touches done in The District Union, Berlin with the assistance of Gregorio Gomez aka Gladkazuka and Matias Aguayo.

International Feel, the much-respected Balearic imprint introduces the first release in a new series of mini-albums from Len Leise. Consisting of six to eight tracks, the concept allows each artist to show more of who they are musically without the constraints of the traditional album format. It will followed by a beautiful release from Canada's CFCF , an ambient album from Jan Schulte and the return of Gatto Fritto .
Len Leise is Australian, that we know for a fact. Does he exist Maybe in the mind of his creator. He has released three beautiful EP's to date and there is a very natural musical theme to his music, one that is built around emotion, times and spaces. His first long-form work 'Lingua Franca' shows the varied palette of music he was listening to, from ambient jazz through to afro disco. The likes of Yasuaki Shimizu, Jake Solo and Ike White. Rare names for a rare sound.
'Lingua Franca' is all about travel and progression. Both from one place to the next and an emotional migration. An imaginary journey based on real experiences - though as with his name - what is real and what is not doesn't matter. Morocco appears in the deep ride of 'Forlorn Fields' , Spain in 'Leaving Llucmajor' and Russia in 'Route To Reutov '. Ever on the move, trade language is necessary - a 'Lingua Franca' . India finds its way here via the chimes of ' Madala Maksim ', Brazil in the afro disco sound of ' O Camino ' and Africa in the slow thoughtful pace of ' El Modelo '.
Sometimes a visual brings the music to life, sometimes a thought or feeling. It's music to keep and get lost in, a spiritual ride across the world's paths and percussions. These sounds are true to Len Leise and 'Lingua Franca' has been designed to delve inside his mind. A spread of wings, changes of pace and a chance to indulge in those wispy, smoke-filled thoughts.
Artwork comes courtesy of The Material Collective , responsible for International Feel's recent switch back to full cover art. Each mini-Úalbum will have a similar look and evolve into a diverse series of interlinked journeys through the sonic spectrum of artist's imagination.
FEEDBACK
Damn it's good - Moonboots
Route to Reutov is minty fucking business - Tornado Wallace
Liking This - Phil Mison

The second "LOVEiT" press comes right in time for the festival season and for dusty basements too. SUOLCITY is a young producer from Stuttgart, the spot for house business again. Probably he felt it already as intern at "rocker 33", the club such as Panorama Bar and Robert Johnson. How else could you explain the B-Side "Rush", you had to feel this dubby, gritty bassline. Not hard enough - so maybe "Rush Harder", you can have it all. But still, Stuttgart is heart and soul for some Hip Hop generations, the SUOLCITY is no exception here. The second track might be called/used as "Early Morning Jam", but you can hear this jazzy attitude of some Hip Hop jams and you will love it. "November" delivers great atmosphere with groovy chords and bumpy drums for your deep moments. All in one - great homage to the best side of the 90s! - Prinz Eugen Early Support: Borrowed Identity (Quintessentials / Ostgut Ton): Rush - Evil dance floor weapon! Lay-Far (Local Talk): I love the Early Morning Jam! Peter Clamat (Big Bait Records): Early Morning Jam is my favorite. Tim Toh (Mild Pitch / Philpot): Lovely to hear some new stuff on LOVEiT. These guys keepin' it raw and underground. This 12" consists of stompers and dreamers. At the most i´m a dreamer, therefore "early morning jam" is the one for me. Optimo's prolific DJ/producer/label boss JD Twitch aka Keith McIvor has curated a compilation of early '80s synth, industrial and cold wave classics and undiscovered gems in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory, following the (Cease & Desist) DIY! (Cult Classics from the Post-Punk Era 1978-82) compilation on his own Optimo Music label, and Youth Stand Up!, a collaborative recording project featuring young musicians from Glasgow, Ghana and Belize on his Autonomous Africa imprint.
Titled So Low and set for release on 19th February 2016 on double vinyl, CD and digital download via The Vinyl Factory, with hand screen-printed artwork by Katie Shannon, the 16-track collection had its genesis in McIvor's irregular club night of the same name in his hometown of Glasgow. So Low is an occasional night at The Poetry Club in Glasgow where I play some of the music I played when I first started DJing back in 1987,' McIvor explains. At that time the audience I played to mostly loathed what I was playing and rarely danced but then shortly after, when House music arrived I found a different audience who actually liked to dance.'
In response to my wife's deep love of this music and requests from some friends who were too young to hear it in a club at the time, or indeed were not even born when most of this music was made, I was persuaded to revisit a lot of records I still loved but rarely played out, and So Low was born. It has an extremely enthusiastic audience, a joyous atmosphere and is the antithesis of what a club in Scotland playing this music nearly 30 years ago would have been like.'
The term 'cold wave' was first coined on the cover of a 1977 issue of UK music magazine Sounds featuring Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk, and later by the same magazine in an article about Siouxsie and the Banshees, with the publication proclaiming, "Listen to the cold wave roar from the '70s into the '80s". It grew to take in the icy post-punk production and futurist, apocalyptic love songs of Joy Division, The Cure, Bauhaus and more.
So Low focuses on the perhaps lesser known protagonists of the scene, such as UK/European minimalists P1/E, Colin Potter and Gerry & The Holograms, and American industrial/experimentalists including Michigan's Hunting Lodge and avant-garde San Francisco collective Tuxedomoon, as well as a number of French and Belgian acts such as Siglo XX, Front 242, Marc Verhaeghen's The Klinik and Clair Obscur. Tracks from industrial forbearers Throbbing Gristle and band members Chris Carter and Cosey Fanny Tutti, who went on to record as Chris & Cosey, and Germany's pioneering minimal wave musician John Bender are also included.
With many of his contemporaries and newer artists alike coming forward as fans of the sound, McIvor and The Vinyl Factory have enlisted XL Recordings upstart Powell and Hamburg's Helena Hauff to provide remixes for their favourite tracks on the compilation.
Stay tuned for news on London, Glasgow and Berlin launch parties, set to take place in early 2016.

Lovedancing is a hedonistic, unabashed bear hug of sample-leaning, 909-loving house music. Space Coast, the house-focused pseudonym of Sleazy McQueen, return with a double-pack of remixes from their debut album, Crystal Lake.
In the wake of Glenview Records double vinyl release, we have on offer two volumes of remixes ranging far and wide in both depth and energy. Volume 1 is kicked off with remixes from Eddie C, The Noodleman and YSE. Each of these fit for alternate set times.

MM Discos originally emerges from the passion of two friends who share the same fondness for records made just of vinyl, after years spent hunting, collecting and spinning them.
This is driven by the intention of bringing to light the work of talented newcomer artists.
MM Discos is born with no musical prejudices whatsoever but undoubtedly influenced by a certain mix of genres in which one can identify, among others, Disco, Synth-Pop and Italo.
Our first track is a groovy Edit, produced back-to-back by notorious Akirahawks, Capo di Tutti I capi of the Berlin scene and House Mannequin's frontman, and Enzino, responsible of his own editions at Encino's Rec. and one of the most significant representatives of the Balearic sound around the world.
The second cut is brought to you by the enigmatic MSMCI, who has masterfully deployed all his skills to put together a killer House track drizzled with soft-spoken vocals that carries the listener to an evocative world of Daiquiris, palm trees and girls in bikini.
On the B-side, Marvin & Guy coming hard after a series of successes on Hivern Discs and Young Adults, combining Synth-pop and Italo crystalising in a Nordic 80's-influenced Edit ready to rock the dance floor.
And last but not least the ultimate Edit produced by Just John. The ineffable producer from JohnWaynes, well known for his works for Mule Music, Endless Flight and Let's Play House, delivers an inspired self-righteous hymn for Italo Disco ready to become and instant cult classic.
