Gator Boots is back with two funky edits from beantown afro-latin aficionado Bosq. We've known him for years, but then he dropped one of our favorite albums of 2013 on Ubiquity Records and put his stamp on the new multi-culti sound that has been so influential to us. These two edits fit that mold and have been huge party jams in our sets for the last year. Look out for a full Soul Clap Records EP from Bosq in the future, but for now here's what he has to say about these two mega jams. "Fela edits are tough for me, as anyone who has listened to any of my tracks knows, the man is far and away the greatest influence to my music and to me most of his songs are nearly perfect. This hasn't stopped me from trying over and over - but it has stopped me from releasing them. I finally felt I had something that walked the line enough with this one and was honored when the homies Eli & Charlie asked to put it out on their Gatur Boots series. I think this track has that universal undeniable appeal that can work with just about any dance floor (and thats Fela's doing - I just gave him a little help for the modern sound systems and tried to really work that pacing). On the flip is another band that has influenced me greatly, Fatback! This was one of those edits that slowly started turning more into an original the further on I went, but I could never quite do without those vocals and that infectious bassline. It's always the most fun for me when I can actually add to the track musically and not just rearrange and beef it up, because that's when I feel like it's really becoming more unique and I'm contributing more than just tweaking the details. This one has got everything from rhodes to arp to organ, percussion, etc.

It's been a year since the first release of the successful Editor's Kutz series and the mysterious imprint hits back with its fourth installment, this time on a special 180 gram vinyl pressing. Love is the message coming hand-in-hand with this release and the package includes a quartet of sexy, chilling and sentimental contributions.
Starting things off with Whiskey Disco boss, Sleazy McQueen, who squeezes the best out of a little known gem since 1979. 'Let's Make Love Tonight' has all those disco-nutritious ingredients making it suitable for today's disco floors: fat baseline, soft strings, sexy female vocals and a nice spanking guitar, all resulting into an irresistible disco edit. Next there's a 'Love Massage' waiting for you. Couldn't expect less by 78Edits than another unmistakable, blue-sky disco cover. This time Mr Buchanan reworks the homonyms track since 1981, transforming it into a modern, mid-tempo and slippery groove, a perfect party starter.
Flip it for side B to find the successful Israeli keyboardist and producer Jean Claude Gavri joining his editing skills with VinylAddicted. Their combo retouch on a Larry's forgotten version is exactly what you need to get lifted: Disco rich in percussion, fully quantized, targeting on the guitar performance, while only the hottest vocal samples are used here, before the beat and guitars hit you again. Last but not least, the marvelous Balearic disco cover from the rookie Lillo Carillo on an Italian 70s ballad, will find you swaying in a crowded beach-bar with a cocktail in your hands, as the sun goes does.

Dancing with tears in your eyes on the remixes of 'Plastic Romance', one of the ace tracks off of 'What About The Magnetic Fields', Space Ranger's debut album on Lovemonk.

The German outfit returns with it fourth single on Lovemonk, the wonderful 'Plastic Romance' featuring the chilly vocals of Captn K, who can also be heard on previous single 'Nightmoves'. Bonar Bradberry throws some beef on the barbie and turns the slo-mo disco original into a ultra-funky dancefloor stormer, while the fabulous Rimshooters, a.k.a. Massimiliano Pagliara and Rotciv, speed it up and take it back to the eighties.

Motorcity Drum Ensemble shift into fifth gear as well and undress the tune while they're at it, leaving Captn K sounding even chillier. Groove Attack & Innervisions hero Marcus Worgull liked the MCDE remix so much, he decided to do his own edit of it. A fabulous package if ever there was one.

Background info:
Space Ranger come from the stars. The trio based in Stuttgart has a wide experience and an unlimited love for music. In their previous disguises, among which Dublex Inc, they have done remixes for the likes of Kool and The Gang, Sugababes or Kurtis Blow, but now they are absolutely focused on this project, brewing disco and house for today's dance floors from samples taken from their huge record collections. Knowledge is power and space is the place.

Brand new wax from Denmark's acclaimed Music For Dreams imprint featuring two artists new to the label - Bonnie & Klein and Coyote. Hailing from Greece, Bonnie & Klein debut with three impressive cuts including future sunset classic 'Total Blue' - already receiving maximum support from the likes of Moonb oots and Phil Mison, this gentle summery melody conjures up perfect Cafe Del Mar moments with its dreamy pads, lush keyboards and beautiful accordion. To celebrate the most exciting day of the vinyl calendar, the finest purveyors of the eclectic and ecstatic have brought together four rising stars from across the globe for a special 10" release. The musical journey begins close to home with a well matched pair of laid back beauties from Manchester's freshest talents, Half Silk and Menage a Trois.

It's the mysterious Half Silk who opens proceedings, making his debut with the dreamy groove of 'Delicious Crime'. Taking us on a late night cruise through the big city, Half Silk treats us to swelling chords and seductive basslines while the clavinet sounds a neon-tinged solo, heralding our arrival downtown. As we spill from one bar to the next drinking in the midnight sleaze, echo drenched guitar and organic percussion emerge from the shadowy backstreet, leading us into temptation.

We swap the red-lit vice of the city night for the fresh air of coastal sunrise on the A2 in the company of yacht rock revivalists Menage a Trois. 'Conditional Love' evokes memories of off kilter Japanese synth-pop, 10cc at their most ambitious and the afternoon delight of Rupert Holmes and Pages. Breathy chords drift over a simple rhythm track, setting the scene perfectly for that pitch bent melody.

The B-side begins in truly exotic fashion as Fasaan witch doctor Prins Emanuel transports us from his native Sweden to the moonlit desert for some dervish dancing. 'Dr Arvid's Campfire On The Doones' brews a redolent psychedelic melange of droning sitar, rhythmic guitar and rowdy conga, distilling North African flavours for a trance inducing hit.

From a Swede in Morocco to an Australian in India then, as Eleventeen Eston closes out the EP with the tape warping swelter of his humid white funk. Primitive drum machines, heat haze synth-lines and tropical melodies spin into infinity as Eleventeen masters the art of noise from the comfort of a sun-lounger.

What better way to celebrate Record Store Day than with four future classics from your favourite Balearic outfit.

Australaborialis is the concept mini-album from Melbourne drum machine kid, Inkswel. A collection of raw ideas, tape jams, new concepts and gritty homages.

For years Robosonic have been building a reputation as DJs for murdering dancefloors worldwide - not only playing what they really feel, but also performing their own multidimensional electronic music. Following the Record Store Day release of Donna McGhee's Make It Last Forever, Groove Line Records launches a series of 12' audiophile reissues from the Disco underground starting with the irresistible Heartache No. 9 by DELEGATION. DELEGATION'S 1980 single, Heartache No. 9, the opening track from the groups Ken Gold (The Real Thing) produced album Eau De Vie, is represented on this release in its much sought after 12' Disco Remix version.

Opening with an irresistible, tight, fluid, bottom-end groove provided that sees the crisp drums and propulsive bass, allied to the interplay between the funky horn runs and Chic-esque guitars, Heartache No. 9 has your feet firmly on the dance floor before the stunning orchestration and Ricky Bailey's passionate interpretation of the clever, innovative lyrics bind all the elements together to make this a bona-fide club classic.

The flip side is the equally infectious You And I, also a hit single from Eau De Vie, which exhibits all the traits of Heartache No. 9 with an emphasis on the strong vocal harmonies taking centre stage in front of the more minimal orchestration.

Iron Blu is a genuine Electronic Music veteran who made his first forays in to the synthesised music world as part of seminal 80s group Naked Lunch (as recently championed by Trevor Jackson on his Metal Dance compilation).
His career has spanned many guises, sounds and labels, and his contribution to LBL sees him providing a suitably genre straddling release that displays shades of Chicago house, Machine Funk, Krautrock, and Detroit techno in equal measure over the course of his three original tracks.
Remix duties are provided by Mark E, who has turned in an ambient, quaalude tinged "Forest Remix".
Vinyl is strictly limited to 300 copies.

Two guys from the middle of fuckin' nowhere, well from the middle of a big European city, which - both city and who they are - shall keepin on something in the dark. But the guys are more than an insider's tipp after releases on top notch labels like Compost Black Label, KaterMukke, Exploited, Get Physical and their own BY awake imprint. Their latest remixes for Claire's super smash "Games" (on Island Rec.) and Tiger Stripes (on Get Physical) underscore their high reputation in the scene.

The outboard loving, super talented young Russian producer returns to Bokhari.

No short clip could ever do Triptych justice - it has three distinct parts which are woven together with immense skill. Not for those who buy tracks for 5 second loops!
A totally absorbing and evolving piece...

Another production masterclass on the flip as 'More' gently builds around atmospheric pads, crisp percussion and a creeping acid line.
Finally Dotylus wrap things up with a bold rework of Tryptich, marrying immersive synth washes to an insistent rhythm track and more than a nod to early 90's electronica

After three years of irregular visibility but strong pulsations generated by Steaua de Mare and the great disclosure of Rodion G.A., Future Nuggets unveils its second compilation "Sounds of the unheard from Romania". We bring to the surface another collection of intense tracks gathered from the contemporary margins of the international world, the deep South-East. The border area has been as fertile as ever, the cross influences around the Danube ebbed to the shores of Bucharest and merged into a body with many names. One name that already stands out is "Plevna", surrounded by more or less famously obscure names featured in the previous release and some fresh projects from the crate as Delusion Men or Ion din Dorobani. This is a new beginning in many ways but as always in the Outernational realm, the future is never reliable. Although the vaults of the periphery are endless they are out of sync with the music industry of today, so future archeologists are in for a treat with this record and others soon to be launched by Future Nuggets motors.

In the winter of 2011 Gatto Fritto sent me a link to a Laurent Garnier radio show, insisting that I check out a track called 'Acdise#2' by a Japanese artist called Gonno. He couldn't quite believe that it was still unsigned.
I listened.....and neither could I.

So we contacted G onno and he agreed to a joint release between I nternational Feel and Ben's Fritto Morto label. Over the Summer of 2011, Acidse became a BIG tune, played by everyone from J ames Holden to T odd Terje, Tim Sweeney to E wan Pearson and everyone inbetween. And then I waited for a follow up and waited......and waited.

Fast forward to Autumn 2014 and out of the blue a new Gonno EP dropped into my inbox and yes, it's worth the wait. As hypnotic & compelling as Acdise , 'Obscurant ' is slo mo electronic Steve Reich packed with drama and moments of joy and 'A Life in Clarinet ' oozes so much emotion it almost overloads your system.

To complete the release I was thinking about a remix and really fancied J.R. Seaton esq., friend of Gatto Fritto and purveyor of fine melodic techno. Riding high after last years acclaimed 'Suzi Ecto ', he's not one to take on remixes, but on speaking to him, serendipity stuck, as I found out that he was the one that put Gatto onto the original Acdise track!

And so, full circle and here we are....an amazing new release with a fantastic remix. Let's see if we get anything else out of Gonno before 2020! If not and it's this good when it arrives.....I don't care.

From the tropics comes Whiskey Disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from
latent disco perpetrators. It's loosely connected to Sleazy McQueen and his assorted cohorts.
Hotel Victoria is the debut ep from two talented editors from Poland, Holiday 80. Holiday 80 inherited a massive collection of wax at a very early age, inciting a deep and lifelong respect for vinyl and the dark grooves. This instilled a profound love not-to-be-contained by a single genre. Each song on this palette reflects that diversity and spectrum. From the smooth intro on Kto dal nam deszcz with its easy groove to the boogie-blaze of Bez tego i owego. The rolling synth bass and sizzling strings of Zabawa w stylu folk are at once dark and light in a tense contrast. As comfortable on the B2 as in the basement, we hear the acidic melodies of Teleniedziela.

oo are Daze Dasen (aka Plastique De Reve) and Sami Liuski (aka Bangkok Impact / Putsch '79. They return with their second 12" (Noo 2) and the third in the Optimo Music Disco Plate series. Their first 12" was a summer of 2014 smash hit. This second double A side 12" single is built out of imaginative sampling combined with analogue machines. Phenomenally produced, modern disco epics that fully work their magic in a club setting.

"Must Be The Music" : Absolutely guaranteed not to appeal to moody techno fucks. Epic disco-ness abounds. Features breakdance potential breakdown at around 6 minutes. Already huge with Pete Waterman.

"Heaven's Gate" : a soundtrack for evacuating the planet. Road tested on our last star trip to Sirius.

The Array is back for the sixth time once again offering disco and electro from every end of the spectrum. Be prepared to another cosmic journey with an impressive line up of Nang's artists, from the cosmic to late night nu disco and full on 80s influenced Italo.

Opening the compilation is Poseidon by Disco Doubles: a real retro electro track featuring some 80s style rapping. If Italo is your thing Venice Beach's You Can't Stop Me sounds like classic Madonna singing on a Kano track, and Tonbe's So Fresh is another feel good, summery song. The Ilya Santana Italo Romance Remix of Proper Heat's I Believe In Love takes the sound to a more contemplative place. The smooth-voiced featured artist Tiara graces Audio Luxury's Every Kiss and creates a stand out piece of R'n'B tinged disco pop.

From another side of the universe you can find the cosmic sound of Ergotrya in the groovy relentless track Wind and Space Scribble by Daniele baldelli and DJ Rocca. James Rhod's Starke and Hatch gives nods to the cosmic sound, as does the Kim & Buran Nu Disco remix of Avila by Nuuro.

To keep the music traveller going we have Kosmyk by Andels, a late 70s influenced groove with a Chic-esque bassline. JMRS & Andy Bell's Only A Feeling and Moon Mood's Stargazing are strong disco songs, the latter featuring some light funk. Ichisan & Nakova's Pioneer (venice beach remix) closes the album. A track that brings the steady driving rhythms of Kraftwerk to mind, it's a gorgeous late night track.

Future Disco is renowned for heralding forthcoming heroes and were among the first to recognise the talents of artists such as Tensnake and Todd Terje, yet still unafraid to probe the more unexplored corners of electronic music. 'Nighttime Networks' goes further and examines those behind the scenes and the mystery contained in those lost nights and cavernous spaces. This is a musical odyssey that boldly entwines rare and feisty remixes of Hot Chip, Zoot Woman and Crazy P's Danielle Moore through to intriguing material from newcomers MUSK, Johannes Brecht, VIMES, Weval and Few Nolder, in a coherent and connected sequence that pays homage to the networks that create those special memories.

Singer/songwriter/pop culture icon and 2013 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee DONNA SUMMER rocketed to international superstardom in the mid-1970s, when her groundbreaking merger of R&B, soul, pop, funk, rock, disco and avant-garde electronica catapulted underground dance music out of the clubs of Europe to the pinnacle of sales and radio charts around the world. On October 21st, Verve Records will release LOVE TO LOVE YOU DONNA, a remix record celebrating her life and voice. The LP will be released October 28th.

Highlights from LOVE TO LOVE YOU DONNA include the legendary producer Giorgio Moroder's entirely re-imagined version of "Love to Love You Baby," originally recorded in November of 1975; Afrojack's take on 'I Feel Love,' and indie electro artists Hot Chip's interpretation of 'Sunset People.' Also included are remixes of 'Hot Stuff' by Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper, Laidback Luke's remix of 'MacArthur Park,' Duke Dumont's remix of 'Dim The Lights' and more.

Superb new EP from Copenhagen's acclaimed Music For Dreams imprint with the usually chilled Balearic label heading again into housier territory. First up is a hot collaboration from Ibiza's legendary DJ Pippi and label head Kenneth Bager. Fully road tested in the clubs of the White Isle this summer, 'La Serenata' is a surefire party starter with a hypnotic synthline, melodic bass and live accordion melding in an irresistible house groove. Next is HubbabubbaKlubb's Olefunken with his house remix of 'Stuck In A Lie', a track taken from Bager's forthcoming LP 'Follow The Beat'. This deep soulful rework is layered with lush rhythms and beautiful keys topped with the unmistakeable vocals of Storm Queen's Damon C. Scott. Flip over for 'Factor 30' from Bjarno, a Danish DJ/producer who as part of Djuma Sound System has had success on Get Physical, Noir, Soundz, Neon and Rebirth. This new cut clearly demonstrates his trademark warm organic deep techy sound - slow-burning bass-heavy house that builds and builds on an infectious flamenco guitar riff with just enough variations to keep you locked in, a great example of 'Slouse', the slow house sound being championed by the likes of Rainer Truby and Acid Pauli. Last but not least is Danish composer Troels Hammer with 'Cold Hawaii', a gorgeous lo-fi track with smooth keys and an achingly heartfelt mouth organ - perfect sunset material.

2 seriously hot remixes from Opolopo

You'd be forgiven for not knowing the newest addition to the slowly expanding Claremont 56
roster. You see, there's been no recorded output from German combo Bambi Davidson since
the release of their largely overlooked 'minimal post-rock' debut album, El Faco, in 2000.
Until now, that is.
Following the release of their debut set, founder members Robin van Velzen (guitar/vocals)
and Hans Christian Fuss (drums) became frustrated with their lot. Bored with 'rocking out' as
a two-piece, they decided to start inviting other musicians to join them on stage. That meant
that each performance was unique, with new tunes - often improvised on the spot - being
developed for, or at, every gig.
It's an approach that frequently paid dividends. One particular collaborative gig, with Frank Mollena (most famousfor his involvement with fellow German Balearisc rock outfit Mountaineer) and Sofia Fuss, went so well that both were asked to become permanent members of the band.
It was at this point that the newly expanded four-piece Bambi Davidson finally headed back into the studio to record a new album, some 15 years after they'd recorded their debut.
As you'd expect with a new line-up, things are a bit different this time round. Whereas El
Flaco was a stripped-back affair with most tracks featuring just guitar, drums and vocals,
Bambi Davidson features additional bass, electronics and keys provided by Frank and
Sophia. The result is an expansive but atmospheric album built around sensual, undulating grooves, gentle, sun-kissed melodies, lilting pedal steel and woozy, dub-influenced production.
Often magical and always immersive, the six tracks that make up Bambi Davidson are
delightfully contrary. While pleasingly accessible and capable of inducing broad smiles on the first listen, each carefully considered, drawn-out composition reveals more intricate layers on each listen. This is particularly true of 'Foxhunting' - reminiscent of fellow Claremont 56 act Bison

From the tropics comes Whiskey Disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from
Latent disco perpetrators. It's loosely connected to Sleazy McQueen and his assorted cohorts. WD37 Broadway Kiss showcases the hair-split-contrast in our disco genre.
4 songs so good, they all deserve equal attention; Pontchartrain delivers, Lifesaver, an immaculate distillation of house and disco
fused, buffed and polished. On the inside, Osmose has bottled pure disco fire with Broadway Kiss, a perfect party starter for any
warehouse with disco leanings. Flipping to the AA, seasoned jock, Derek Kaye has reworked Holding On and in the process landed it (and a few others!) in Greg Wilson's top edits of 2014 chart. By now, you must know that we're VERY fond of a bit of cheese in our whiskey... Rulefinn sidesteps the usual elements of La Bionda's I Got Your Number to focus on the slick guitar, while retaining the vocals until the end for optimal impact.
After listening to this ep, you'll feel like you've been kissed all over.
