RAINER TRUEBY & CORRADO BUCCI present TRUCCY - Compost Black Label # 124 'Step By Step EP'! Rainer Trueby and Rebirth's Corrado Bucci joined forces for a splendid Black Label release under the alias TRUCCY. Tastemaker don Gilles Peterson already featured Sidestep in his Worldwide radio show and Jimpster was charting and playing it already, aswell. A truly elegant, smooth deep house 2-tracker.

Israeli-born Berlin based producer and DJ Omer debuts his first release on Cocktail d'Amore with two offerings of celestial house. The title cut blends the sounds of the east with an immediately seductive atmosphere of bright melodies leaving the listener plenty of room to be transfixed through it's entirety. "Dust" dives deeper to reveal a more melancholic mood built on a symphony of lush pads and swirling metallic percussion. On remix duties are the wonderfully quirky Estonian duo Ajukaja & Andrevski who deliver an oddball re-imagining which sends the original into outer space as it gently builds to sparkling fervor only heard on the outskirts of galaxies. Rounding out the release is Man Power with an acid tinged burner which explodes into en excitement of live percussion and pads leaving any dance floor in complete ecstasy.

Ahead of their highly anticipated debut LP due on Golf Channel this fall, the Berlin duo drop this little taster.
The heavy, percussion driven analogue sound that is their trademark comes in two tight packages.
The title track is all snaky rhythms and squelchy riffing and comes complete with exactly the kind of dense, break heavy remix that we would expect from compatriot, and top buddy of the band, Wolf Muller.Flipside 'Revanche' is a sunnier affair, deft touches on the acoustic guitar and lighter percussion, but no less the party starter because of it.

After 10 years away from vinyl, 3am Wax Vol.1 hails a return to 12' on the label, now in its 13th year. The EP features an all-3am regular artist cast, three making their debut on vinyl and one making a return to 12' after a 12 year gap. 3am boss Al Bradley opens the EP, while label regulars Carlo Gambino, Ben Dean and Michael Scott all return for the 12". With over 400 releases and remixes between the artists, the EP showcases in-house talent from the label - the emphasis on quality rather than names. Ranging from Berlin-influenced deepness through to raw analog acid house, the EP has been doing damage at label gigs throughout 2015 including Berlin, Ibiza, Copenhagen, New York, London & label-home Leeds, with plaudits and support also coming in from a wide range of DJs from the promo.

What happens when you take a track by a British power trio heavily influenced by blues and psychedelia, and get a master of wayward, left-of-centre Balearica to remix it That's the premise behind Claremont 56's latest vinyl outing, which features Magic Feet Recordings boss Craig Bratley delivering
a pair of druggy, spaced-out interpretations of 'Better Man', one of the more laidback outings from fast-rising rock combo Bella Figura.The trio, comprised of Justin Gartry, Mikey Cooper and Jack Morford, have gigged tirelessly since joining forces a few years back, enhancing their reputation via a series of self-released EPs notable for their heavy grooves, bluesy guitar arrangements and Gartry's gravelly, emotion-packed vocals.
Even so, their work - as atmospheric as it is - has never sounded this cosmic. Craig Bratley has previous in this regard. His solo releases for Is It Balearic, Bird Scarer and, most recently, Tsuba, tend towards the druggy, unusual and atmospheric, while his Magic Feet imprint has become renowned for its unique
blends of slo-mo wonkiness and off-kilter, early morning Balearica. He handles the poignant 'Better Man' with great care, delivering vocal and instrumental interpretations doused in delay and reverb, with occasional bursts of white noise and deep space electronics enhancing the horizontal, smacked- out mood. There are notable beats - sparse, slow and dubbed out - but these are almost drowned out by Gartry's reverb-drenched guitars and Cooper's
booming, pitched-down bassline. This is emotionally raw rock music dragged through a K-hole backwards, reappearing somewhere the other side of Jupiter.
It's a trip worth taking.

This is made for sipping cold drinks under palm tree shade or swinging hammock dreams. The flip sees Balearic Commander in chief Leo Mas and his ever present colonel Fabrice deliver a truly stunning piece of balearic chug. Deep ambient textures capturing the essence of a smiley sunset. Former co-owner of Mr Peabody infamous record Store in Chicago, exquisite music connoisseur, deep dj and fresh Sounds Familiar member Mark Grusane provides the next in the series of SF 45s. Space Mountain is a funk fusion monster while in Fifth Dimension Mark shows his darker side pushing the electro/new wave envelope and even providing vocals. Once again a Sounds Familiar winner and another demonstration of Mark's rich musical palette.
Growing up in Chicago during the early 80's, Mark - with the help of his older brother - started collecting records and DJing from his pre-teens. During high school he listened to WBMX radio mixes and was producing house tracks inside empty classrooms with his friends during lunch period. By the time Mark was a young adult having music everyone knew and liked was not good enough anymore and so he entered the endless world of searching and seeking music he had yet to discover and his music habits soon reached a level deemed as obsessive. To balance his spending habit, he found himself selling music to older peers, stores and DJs in order to afford more records for himself. This finally lead him into founding Mr. Peabody Records with Mike Cole a fellow fanatic, in 2004, aiming to become a world class resource for all genres of obscure music and indeed Mr Peabody Records became a destination point for many DJ's and Music lovers worldwide and indeed they did. Sadly, the brick and mortar store closed shop in 2012. However we're lucky Mark still collects and continues to play music to dancers and clubbers around the world. His style is derived from his unique persona, many years of collecting dance music and knowing how to move people with it. Although totally capable, Mark isn't your typical cookie cutter style DJ. He has his own signature way of putting records together with a focus to play quality, obscure, heart pounding, "Make You Get Up And Move' music. Welcome to the family, Mark!

We first introduced these strapping young house aficionados from Sligo, Ireland, with their debut EP as a pair, Street Urchin", a little over a year ago. Since then the guys have been busy with a massive release on Detroit Swindle's label Heist, not to mention their unbridled musical passion lead them to launch their own label Splendor & Squalor beginning of this year, kicking things off with a sell out vinyl only pressing of another four track EP of their own imaginings featuring a hot remix from Session Victim. We're pleased to share with you their latest creation, the stunning Lamaj's Secret EP". Now, we're not sure who Lamaj is exactly, but the mystery, funk and raw sex appeal in these four jams certainly has us wondering. First up we meet Lamaj", this track drips with delicate melodic samples, jazz tainted drums and bass driven funk galore. We asked our long time friend, Australian Andy Hart, to give it a flip for us on A2. He opened things up, deepened the vibe and brought some bass toms to deliver a final punch. The B-side begins with Four Lights", here the guys slow things down a little and remind us of their gift for nostalgia touched soul and groove samples. Finally, Garlic Fist Pump", as the name suggests, takes us straight back out to the dance floor, between the dynamic live drums, subtle vocal snips cry to the hip hop Brame & Hamo draw so much inspiration from. Welcome to the House of Lamaj, we hope you'll take off your coat and stay a while.

The fourth studio album - In The Beginning' by the critically acclaimed live band MARBERT ROCEL from Leipzig. A place far away from everything, yet right around the corner. A vision close enough to touch, yet so far away. Surrounded by keys, hatches, pots and small fragmented parts, Marbert Rocel lie down, discuss and dance through the winter of 2015. In this environment, in their studio in Leipzig, the band ties together the songs, which first saw the light of day in a small spot enclosed by woods in the summer of 2014. Each decision goes through every head, each chord is listened to a hundred times, from font to back and in reverse, each compromise: a triumph for the common cause. Not pompoous string arrangements fuel this album with grandeur, but rather the notion of a consensual nod, which has evolved within Marbert Rocel over the years. 'In the Beginning' is the fourth album by Marbert Rocel, a living utopia and a tart kiss for every purist genre lover. Nothing is hewn raw on here, rather sculptured delicately. Percussion is tickling from synth pads like dew, and the songs welcome you like good friends. Like Tinkerbell, Spunks voice guides through this strange familiar world, moving past big feelings and small gestures, to finally lead to where it all started: 'In The Beginning'.

Fleewing Wax is a new label by Basel DJs Mehmet Aslan and Miajica, whose fame has spread far and wide beyond Switzerland. Fleeting WAX EP offers a neat definition of the now-familiar Basel sound - all sultry playfulness, Turkish delights and pop-not-pop.The first release from the duo contains three striking edits from the far-flung reaches of what could be considered world disco in the widest sense of the word. Sporting a healthy love for Italian cantautori, obscure oriental pop and a generous helping of freakiness.

This new label is the natural next step for the well established booking agency, events company and sound design outlet that is Follentez. Run by by Jérôme Querré, a former club programmer in Paris, the brilliant first EP comes from Sebastien Fauvel with on point remixes from disco legends Faze Action, Pete Herbert and Stratus. Sébastien Fauvel has had a long apprenticeship in Paris, where he went to study sound in 1992. Frequenting clubs like Rex with Laurent Garnier, he soon became part of the team at Queen where he was a live percussionist playing Latin house nights. He has also DJed in Ibiza, many other places around Europe and is an accomplished producer who has put out music on numerous compilations which have featured on TV and in film many times.

Following the sell-out 1st release, 2 kingpins in the London house scene pull together for Dream Diary's next offering. Richie Littler and Tom Gillieron slam down Shiva for the A side, breaky undertones, addictive warm pads and sub bass fit for the best of soundsystems. Optimistic Pessimism on the B sees aficionado Gillieron going solo. A snappy, 4am, heads down groover, filled with intricate percussion and deeeeeep bass! With production second to none, and a fine cut from those at Curved Pressings, this is another fine package ready to do some damage! Limited handstamped.

Time is up is the first track here. Arpeggios shimmer and crisp simple drums hiss and fizz along, until introduction of the classic detroitian vocal and one shot filtered rhodes sample. A deftly simple combination of classic ingredients. Think 90s Inner City meets a DJ Sprinkles era Motor City Drum Ensemble.
You & Them (against the world) is all short looped disco bass and saturated afro moog. Heavy use of delay pedal, and a simple vocal refrain - 'It was you & them against the world... and we survive together'. This sounds like Afefe Iku battling it out Paperclip People era Carl Craig.

From the tropics comes Whiskey Disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. It's loosely connected to Sleazy McQueen and his assorted cohorts. WD43 welcomes Italian-Disco-Demigod, Bottin
to the roster. Bottin offers two uptempo and catchy re-edits sitting alongside a lovely dub of #1 Deejay by Hristo. On the B2, label head, Sleazy McQueen has elongated the soulful house classic, We All Need Love. 4 songs tweaked for the jazzy leaning disco set.

Conor's an extremely influential, yet somewhat mysterious figure in SF's disco and house underground. It's known that he has an enviable collection of disco on wax, that he's not afraid to use it, yet no one seems to know if he sleeps, or where his bed is, or if perhaps he just lies down among record crates with one eye open, scanning his vinyl collection....
In any case, the guy knows what he's doing. Along with SF's Solar, he's booked, hosted, and played alongside a long list of the world's best underground electronic, house, and disco artists at his party series No Way Back, and his taste and talent for curating artists, and selecting records, is widely acknowledged to be some of the best around.

The Highlife World Series is a collaborative series of releases by UK-based Brian d'Souza aka Auntie Flo and Esa Williams. The first three parts are to be released in quick succession in early 2015, beginning with Cuba, followed by Kenya and finishing with Uganda. Each release features original songs produced in collaboration with local musicians. All proceeds from each release will be sent back to the respective countries in order to fund further musical production costs in years to come. We will also be seeking various ways to distribute the music in each country so the music is freely available for the musicians to use at home.

It's some four years since the release of Bison's acclaimed debut single, 'Way To L.A', the result of a series of productive studio sessions between Paul 'Mudd' Murphy, longtime collaborator Ben Smith, krautrock legend Holgar Czukay and vocalist Ursula Major.
Since then, Murphy and Smith have made a number of return trips to CAN's Innerspace Studio in Cologne, where Czukay famously conjures his out-there musical magic. The result is Travellers, the quartet's long-promised debut album.
It is, by anyone's standards, a deliciously dubby and intergalactic concoction; a fearlessly atmospheric blend of krautrock and dub disco-inspired grooves, delay- laden horns, quirky percussion, stargazing electronics and eyes-wide-shut vocals.

Debut single off Daft Punk's #1 album, Random Access Memories. Musically, ''Get Lucky'' is a disco and funk song while lyrically, according to Pharrell Williams, the song is about the fortune of finding chemistry with someone and not just about sexual chemistry.The single has topped numerous charts around the world.

Ilo caused quite a frenzy with his edit of New Musik's 'Warp'. A UK record reviewer joked "We can only hope an ILO edit of Grauzone's 'Eisbear' is next"! So he does it! On the B2, Eric Duncan delivers the grande finale in true blockbuster fashion, hitting the special FX budget harder than late career Michael Bay while the 'Strandbar' piano and bassline loop into infinity and beyond.

First Touch presents a six song EP 'Knockout', a highly anticipated release for this duo out of Germany who is clearly operating on all cylinders as far as modern funk dance music is concerned, carving out a lane all of their own a long time ago!

Inside of the bay area's sweater funk crew is K-Maxx, one of modern funk's most prolific voices and producers to emerge over the last half dozen years. K-Maxx lets it be known on 'For The Record' that he is in a lane of his own. Next up on Tomorrow Is Now, Kid! is an EP from Rutilance Recordings owner, DJ Steaw. The French artist crafted four sturdy tracks on this fresh EP. It is a perfect blend between Chicago and New York House, with a big splash of Acid throughout the disc. The hypnotising percussion and grimy sounds coul take you to new, unforeseen places... Keywords for best describing this 12" are, beyond any doubt, deep and vigorous. Enjoy these four definite killers in the club.

All good things come to an end, and The Very Polish Cut-Outs is no different.

The fifth sampler will be the last in the much loved & long running series.
For the farewell record, label boss Zambon has selected five unique reworks from top producers from Poland and beyond.

Side A is aimed at the dancefloor. 'KIEDY BYLEM MALYM CHLOPCEM' was the biggest hit in the long career of Tadeusz Nalepa, the king of Polish blues. The irresistible, smooth guitar groove is combined with conscious lyrics about different views of what's important at different stages of life, served in the form of a conversation between father and son.
Miod crew transform this beautiful song into peak-time killer, tailored exactly for the needs of a modern dancefloor.

Moscow's man of the moment Beard In Dust edits 'BIALA SOWA, BIALA DAMA, BIALY KRUK' by Kram into a flawless disco funk bomb, fuelled by cheesy synth action. A slice of Eastern European B-Boy disco breaks.

Side B brings more ethereal and psychedelic flavours to the table. 'NA KOLANA PASTUSZKOWIE' comes from Laboratorium, Poland's answer to Weather Report. Their unique take on fusion is remixed here by Daniel Drumz, one of the heroes of Polish hiphop & beat scene. This longtime turntablist leaves his rap roots and travels to the psychedelic coast to bring you an amazing piece of Baltic Beat.

Last two tracks are chopped and looped by Australian hero Carpentaria in a truly Balearic fashion. 'ZA OSTATNI GROSZ' by Budka Suflera charms the listener with dripping pianos and a misty, endless soft rock groove (with added swirling synths played here by Brennan Green himself), while ZACZAROWNE MIASTO by Kombi is a dark, cinematic piece of slow synth pop.
It may be the end, but The Very Polish Cut-Outs finishes off in fine style.

After two releases on Music Control (the label of italo-disco pioneer Casco) and Cocktail D'Amore (run by Berlin's hottest duo Discodromo) Miss Plug Inn is back with a new EP! The original track is a 100% analogue groovy machine, where Miss Plug Inn's vocals team up with a driving Juno 106 bassline that moves between multiple layers of synths. The italian glam duo Hard Ton (Permanent Vacation, ToyTonics-Gomma, Gigolo) turn the original into a late 80's Chicago affair, with catchy strings, 303 arpeggio and Mr. Ton's unique falsetto grooving up all together. Italian synths wizard Massimiliano Pagliara (Live At Robert Johnson) and Brazilian producer Rotciv (Luv Shack), under their moniker The Rimshooters, deliver a dub version that brings the original track to a more seedy and smoky club atmosphere.
