On the A side, Slow Dancer is Shlomi at his best. This is a modern classic as Shlomi creates an incredible groove around this mesmerizing keyboard line and shuffling beats. The track goes through peeks and valleys but still maintains an incredible energy although retaining a level of deepness. As the track the swirls and grooves the energy continues to build. His approach is minimal, but the result is maximal. On the B side, Groove Mechanism is a driving main floor monster. Built around a rolling bass line and driving percussion, Groove Mechanism will rock any dance floor. Both tracks should be in any dj sets for a long time to come.

We present the first of a new series bringing together in demand out of print Tsuba classics. What better way to start than with the classic Larry Heard remix of Moodymanc's 'Black Paint', one of RA's Top 50 tracks of 2011, backed with the Chez Damier mix of Sascha Dive's 'Jus Groove'. A must have 12 inch for any serious record collection!

The Rekids-affiliated Pyramids Of Mars imprint is set to really take off in 2013, with a string of unique releases already in the pipeline. For this special remix package, label bosses Matt Edwards and James Masters have brought in NYC house legend Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell to re-imagine The Machine's debut album 'RedHead' from 2010. But make no mistake, this isn't any ordinary remix project - All the tracks have been reproduced, rewritten, dubbed, performed and mixed by Joe, with the help of a group of musicians.
On 'Contintental Drift', Claussell maintains the mystical, hypnotic atmosphere of the original, adding in piano flourishes before the track transforms into a jazz fusion jam. Opening Ceremony (Fuse) channels the spirit of Herbie Hancock with a funky jazz organ rock-out backed by a mechanical broken beat. Leopard Skin is a much more percussion-driven affair, with handclaps, cowbells and chants all underpinned by a 909 Kick to make a highly danceable track. On Spell Bound, Claussell slows the tempo down to a trippy 3/4 time signature, creating a psychedelic collage of broken beats and wailing electric guitars that sounds like the bastard child of a Massive Attack / Jimi Hendrix collaboration. Fans of Claussell's soulful, uplifting house records will feel more at home with his take on Talking Dolls - a mixture of tribal, ethnic percussion and feel-good keyboards, while Root People is a surreal mixture of rolling drum solos and blues harmonica.
Last November, an exclusive 24' x 24' boxset version of the release was launched at London's LN-CC store as part of a special Pyramids Of Mars event. Only 50 copies were made available, each hand-painted personally by Misha Holenbach. The event also showcased Misha's collection of screen prints for The Machine project as well as a DJ set provided by Quiet Village. Following a successful event, the reworked album is now being released in its own right. Just like the original, the artwork comes courtesy of Misha Hollenbach of Perks and Mini, and the vinyl release comes as a special triple-LP package.

Several years after his successful debut album - Keep It Raw,' Dusty hits home with this ecelectic 4 track EP which represents a foretaste of his second album - Mood Matters'. Brand new label Contemporary Scarecrow launches this January with a double pack vinyl EP from Chicago house veteran Boo Williams, entitled 'Back To The Future / Looney Chunes Vol.1'. Contemporary Scarecrow is an Australian based fashion and record company bringing you intriguing clothing and music. Here the label's inaugural release kicks things off in style with four fresh cuts from Boo Williams and three tracks from the past repressed for the package and accompanied by full colour sleeves. Boo Williams was propelled into the underground house and techno scene through long time ally Glenn Underground who introduced Williams to music production back in the late 90's, Boo has since gone on to record for reputable imprint such as Josh Wink's Ovum, Rush Hour and Cajmere's Releif.

The release opens with 'Further Teck' a rugged analogue workout employing a weighty kick, shuffling hats and airy ethereal pads, a walking bass lick hook smoothly bubbles away in the background as Williams brings the melodic elements to the forefront with intricate progressive advancements in the groove, displaying his ability to craft deep, melodic house brilliantly.

Following on is 'Total Wreck', embracing crunchy 909 drums and a heady arpeggiated bass groove, the track takes on the form of peak time raw house. Boo delicately introduces swirling synth lines, synthesized horns and smooth Rhodes to create a pulsating house track with an ever-evolving dynamic. On the flip side we have 'Joy Ride', a trippy electronica style track built around off kilter broken drums, warbling synth blips and warm bell chime tones. Williams once again displays his musical abilities radiantly here, blending a fusion of elements and a busy structure to meander around each other yet maintain unity throughout. 'Joy Ride Beats' follows and as the name suggests provides you with the raw shuffling rhythm from the preceding cut.

To close the release Boo offers up thee previously released tracks, starting wih 'Real Tekno', a dubbed out house cut featuring a hooky synth line and strident, crunchy percussion. The track slowly evolves for around three and a half minutes before stripping back the elements and introducing resonant, tweaky 303 synth flourishes to tail out the track. 'Tickle Me' follows, previously release by Boo under his Mandrake guise, the record is a smooth slice of deep melodic house driven by lush strings, jangling ride cymbals and a gritty electronic bass. Simplicity is key here with subtle additions being eased in and retracted every thirty- two bars in true house fashion.

To close the release Williams offers up the near thirteen minute epic 'Big Fat Woman 2000' a punchy filter house track that displays an intelligent use of samples, guitar licks, brass hooks and smooth piano chords make up the track alongside weight drums. Baroque key and structure changes are introduced throughout the cut keeping things captivating throughout. This is an outstanding debut from Contemporary Scarecrow and a clear-cut sign of what's to come from this promising Australian company. Legendary producer Ian Pooley has partnered up with up and coming producer Spencer Parker to create a very dynamic duo. We have been trying to work with Spencer and Ian for quite some time and now we get both of them on one.

The legendary Chez Damier presents the first of two carefully curated 12"s under the Purpose For Design banner on his own Balance Music, carrying on the Chicago label's mission to deliver the finest contemporary deep house sounds. On the A-side, Ethereal Sound alumnus Miruga delivers "Midnight Theme", a jazz-tinged number filled with swimming keys floating atop a thick undercurrent of bass, while UG provides their mix of Brawther's "Endless", a garage-inspired track filled with feather light vocal snippets, creamy chords and a snappy, upbeat rhythmic flex. On the B-side, "The Way I Feel When I Think Of You" sees Introspective combine an insistent yet smooth synth pulse with reverb heavy piano chords resulting in an improvised, rustling percussive feel. Matthew Bandy's mix of GMS' "Tell Me What It Is" ends on an unexpectedly tropical note with high impact conga rhythms, sun drenched piano, rolling calypso-inspired bassline and bold vocal.

Toto Chiavetta is no newcomer to the game, having released several musical gems on his own imprint Vialocal Recordings. Hailing from Catania, Sicily Toto has a long standing relationship with house music. Having been a dj from an early age, his knowledge of the golden age of the nineties dance music scene, he like a lot of Italian music lovers embraced deep house. Here with his debut release on Yoruba, Toto offers up an ep full of deep, acid, techno fueled gems. Percussion Suite is just that, a sweet percussion entry. Mother Acid Land takes us back to the basics of acid house with flares of a next step to its evolution, not yet realized. The title track Become One is simply deep and techy in its approach, with tribal drums and moody chords, this tune is destined to dominate the dance floors. We hope you enjoy and embrace our new arrival with open ears and warm hearts.

This is the first single from Carmen Villain´s "Sleeper" and it features Lifeissin lifted from the album plus a remix by Prins Thomas. Limited edition of 500 copies.

Norwegian/Mexican Carmen Villain is the latest signing on Smalltown Supersound. She has spent the last year working on her debut album, resulting in a tempestuous, psychedelic and dreamlike set of songs with a defiantly DIY underground free-rock sound. Mostly recorded in a former nuclear bunker in Oslo, half of the album has been produced by Carmen herself, the other half by Emil Nikolaisen (Serena Maneesh), with one track a collaboration/co-production with fellow Norwegian cosmic hero Prins Thomas (who has also sequenced the album).

Carmen - who freely admits to an obsession with American avant weirdos Sun City Girls - draws on a lineage of sprawling, taboo-busting lo-fi rock: Sonic Youth, Royal Trux, Broadcast, Bikini Kill and The Stooges. But equally she admires the cut 'n' paste productions of J Dilla, Wu-Tang Clan and English avant garde post-punkers This Heat.

The album is being released via Smalltown Supersound in March 2013. Another 12" is in the process with a remix by
Optimo.

It was five years ago that Sonar Kollektiv received high praise with the release of the set 'Romanian Jazz - Jazz From The Electrecord Archives 1966 - 1978'. And not only by jazz afficinados as a matter of course. Renegotiations of the licensing contracts concluded in having the compilation now finally obtainable in digital format. As an encore there are four additional tracks available out of the - Seria Jazz' by the former Communist Romanian national record company Electrecord. The 1932 founded record label is - similar to the GDR imprint Amiga - infamous for its poor quality regarding recordings as well as pressings. That's why Sonar Kollektiv (with Jürgen von Knoblauch leading the way) put time and effort into remastering all (!) the tracks featured on the compilation. At the 'Time Tools Mastering' studio in Hannover the songs were treated in order to shine in a new light and now sound much better than the outmoded communist originals. Two of the four extra tracks have been pressed on 7' vinyl. On one side there is 'Nu Privi Inapoi' by piano whiz Ion Baciu Jr. (off his Electrecord album 'Jazz' from 1977). The McCoy Tyner of the East tickles the ivories in such a sophistcated style as if the one and only John Coltrane is accompanying him. The comparison isn't flawed because next to Dan Dimitriu on bass, Nicolae Farcas on trombone and Mihai Farcas on drums, Dan Mandrila on tenor sax is actually really reminiscent of the legendary late 'Trane'. The flip side provides further evidence with 'Sonet' off Mandrila's own album 'Alter Ego' from 1980. Backed up by the same line-up as on side A (except for Marian Toroimac on drums and supplementary Radu Goldis on guitar, Costin Petrescu on percussion and Idu Barbu on synthesizer) Dan Mandrila (1938-1992) displays impressively that even without any socialist doctrine he would have been the most important saxophone player of Romania. The fusion piece 'Sonet' can easily stand up to any US production of the same age. And now

Papik is the project created by Nerio Poggi, Rome based musician, composer, producer and arranger who's been
getting a lot of positive response from the international Nu-Jazz / Jazz Lounge scene lately. His first album from
2009, 'Rhythm Of Life', included the song 'Staying For Good', sung by Alan Scaffardi, which became and still is a
hit of the genre. His collaboration with various artists, among which Mario Biondi in his albums 'Handful of soul'
and 'I love you more', brought him to produce in 2011 also the albums by Ely Bruna 'Remember The Time' and
Fred Buccini 'Unusual Nat'. Both are themed cover projects and obtained a great market feedback. On this new
'Music Inside' the lead vocals are again by Parma based Alan Scaffardi, official image of the band, together with
Nerio himself and Ely Bruna. Other featured vocalists are: Wendy D. Lewis, US singer very popular in Italy, due
to collaborations with Jestofunk, Mario Biondi, Ivana Spagna and Irene Grandi; Dagmar Segbers, German jazz
singer, Clizia Aloisi and Paco Di Maso. The firt single from the album will be 'Puzzle Of Life', sung by Ely Bruna,
already picked by Japanese fashion brand Gallardagallante as music theme for their 2012 campaign. Japan is in fact
a territory where Papik is extremely popular and will perform on 6th May at the legendary Tokyo Blue Note. The other

or 'Especially for you' in duet with Kylie Minogue, has chosen a song penned by Nerio Poggi and Ely Bruna, 'Sign
of your love', as main tune on his come-back album by the same title, out on Universal worldwide in March 2012.
