Rogue Cat Sounds' presents their third offering courtesy of the Mind Fair-produced trio of the same name, Sundown Drive. A bubbling, sun-drenched, groover that really delivers, twisting and turning its way down to the beach in a near drunk ramble of blissful pianoids, meandering strings, stumbling percussion and a guitar that comes in and out like a well-suited Spanish waiter, before plunging into a deep blue tropical lagoon with an intoxicated jump and dramatic splash, thus taking you right back to the tawdry debauchery of that sunny, unforgettable getaway of '91; alas, leaving The Rhythm Odyssey to come along just at the wrong time, dry you down, dose you up and keep you dancing until the sun comes up, with a cocktail of dirty beats and a fidgety B-line to submerge you yet deeper into a blissful abyss.

Phonica Special Editions follow up their inaugural release with an EP featuring three remixes of singer, producer and Toronto native, Sandro Perri. Sandro has released more than a dozen solo and collaborative records under his given name as well as under the Polmo Polpo & Glissandro 70 monikers, mainly on Canadian cult imprint Constellation.
Love & Light / The Drums Remixes' features reworks from Worst friends Tom Croose and Slow Hands. Fresh from his recent outing on Resista, Tom Croose is kept busy with not one, but two remixes of mr Perri. First up and taking up the whole of side A, 'Love & Light' - originally on 2011's 'Impossible Spaces' - gets a subtle electronic re-rub with restrained electronic flourishes that gently complement the original's organic, ethereal sound - a weirdly captivating, mystical trip! All that, while getting boosted from a criminally short three and a half minutes to a more respectable nine plus...
Next up is Slow Hands, Tom Croose's partner in Worst Friends who has released on Wolf+Lamb. He takes 'The Drums' (a track from Sandro's debut album 'Tiny Mirrors') to places where it's never been before. by re-imagining the song into a breezy summer anthem where old school electric piano stabs, handclaps and a general feel-good vibes take centre stage.
Rounding off this excellent remix 12' we have Tom Croose again, who returns for another version of 'The Drums' and harmoniously marries synth riffs and a laid back groove with Sandro's signature contemplative vocal, rounding off this excellent remix package in style.

UK stalwarts Jamie Anderson and Owain K team up again for another sumptuous slice of contemporary house music on Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings. Jamie Anderson has been exploring and manipulating the links between house and techno for over 15 years, having released on numerous influential labels, both solo and as a collaborator with other top artists. But it's his work with Bristolborn hot-property Owain K that is currently exciting discerning dancefloors worldwide. 'Do You Know', their latest collaboration, sees Jamie and Owain drop some serious sunshine grooves - shuffling hi-hats and a classic, Chitown synth let you know that this is all about the good times. The spoken word vocal pays homage to forgotten jazz legends - the uplifting vibe sure to put a smile on the faces of dancers all summer long. Jamie and Owain switch it up on the other main track in this release. 'Keep It Pumping' drops the tempo to 118bpm and digs its toes into the sand for a balearic-tinged nu-disco stomper. Disco toms fire, the sub bass rumbles, and spacey synths and vocal samples wash over this expertly crafted sunrise/ sunset groove. A dub of 'Do You Know' rounds off the release from this hugely talented combo.

The non vocal parts of the band Mountaineer have decamped for this
spectacular Deutsche-Bomb with two tracks that lay bare Fürsattl's love
for a vintage German sound. 'Rheinlust' kicks of with a gentle, metronomic
melody, a hefty kick and pulsing bass, and so it goes in that subtle hypnotic
groove, gently introducing synths and washes of sound until you feel like
you're on a German ringroad in a Delorean.
On the fip the infuences show again, with a nod towards Can, 'Links Der
Pegnitz' has a genius of kilter jazzy vibe with a hefty bass, genius guitar
fecks and killer percussion. There is the edge of Mountaineer here with the
delicacy of sounds, but the throbbing undercurrent sets these two tracks
apart.

Spiritual vocal jazz of the highest order! The 11th release in the JAZZ DANCE SERIES comes from Deep Jazz, one of the finest bands on the Munich Jazz scene. Band leader and bass player Jerker Kluge is deeply rooted in the jazz music of the 1960s, as released on legendary labels Impulse and Blue Note. The core of his new album is the spiritual and modal jazz from this era, but of course Kluge´s own musical ideas and influences are added, creating a special musical cosmos that is additionally spiced by the individual talents of the involved musicians. Their debut 45RPM single features the Roland Kirks original Spirits Up Above backed by Kluge's own composition No Doubt. Both tunes feature the phenomenal voice of Julia Fehenberger who is best known for her work with the Boogoos and their now classic interpretation of the Art Ensemble of Chicago's Theme de Yoyo.

Brand new release from the American label Killer Funk with two dancefloor bombs to stay firmly in your box . Dr No & The Cuban Maffia - a six piece from Central Havana who recorded this tribute to
Ian Flemming's Mr Bond along with dozens of other cover versions to assist their own compositions in their live repetoire.This version was only 90 seconds long so Texas Toni extends the journey for club play pressure. On the flip Sundance Kid drops an infamous soundtrack and Texas Toni works on editing the original downtempo parts to concentrate purely on the dancefloor friendly elements of their version....

Another couple of gems from the Barbara Lynn repertoire. Barbara is known and loved on many scenes for her boundary-crossing 'I'm a Good Woman' which we released on Fryers some time ago.

Side A is a huge modern soul spin with dense production on the intro and a chorus that's broken up by a sparse open verse making for effective dancefloor teasing. Originals are notoriously difficult to locate these days and reach upwards of $500. And if you think you can manage with the reissue of a few years back, forget it, they're all off centre! Ours is done great, straight from the tapes and pressed in the USA.

Side B is criminally underplayed probably due to the huge 'I'm a Good Woman' overshadowing it. Clean and sharp and straight to the point like cold water in your face a 6am. Cracking drums, guitar and a killer vocal is all you need IF you have the talent. This alternate taken right from the master tapes is even more direct than the original and sounds as if it was recorded yesterday, MASSIVE!

2011's debut album from The Shaolin Afronauts 'Flight Of The Ancients' was a critical and commercial success story, lauded as a truly original blend of the sounds of1970's West Africa, Ethiopia and the pioneering and progressive avant-garde jazz artists of the same period.
This new single 'Brooklyn' displays the bands musical progression. Whilst the multi layered rhythms remain, as well the hypnotic horns and melodic interplay, the soulful, jazz inspired harmony has been taken up several levels to a quite stunning effect.
The b side of this limited edition 12 inch single is a very special live version of 'Kilimanjaro', which was recorded in January 2012 at the Adelaide Festival Centre, Space Theatre with an expanded 18 piece line up - as The Shaolin Afronauts Ensemble. This track is not included on the forthcoming new album and is a totally exclusive to this single.

Futureboogie Recordings shift into a different sonic landscape for their ninth release, welcoming up-and-coming Sweden based producer Crackazat to the fold with the beautifully balanced Tunnel EP - three tracks teeming with musical ideas, crossing dancefloor effervescence with mesmeric downbeat.

Ben Jacobs, aka Crackazat, is a multi instrumentalist, composer and producer with a background in jazz and live performance, recently supporting both Floating Points and Bonobo. Originally from Bristol, England, and now residing in Sweden, Crackazat explores a breadth of sounds and textures, warm and soothing and glistening with live acoustics alongside rippling electronics - from dense and intense to laid-back and groovy. Earlier this year Crackazat appeared on the 'Futureboogie 10' compilation with the gorgeous 'Passagem', and won over the heads with his elevating 'Explanation EP' on Astro:Dynamics.

Title track 'Tunnel' literally burrows straight for the throat. It's deep burbling electronic bassline is given menace by the subs, as hypnotic, cosmic melody interplays overhead - somewhat unexpectedly turning into a massive Detroitian techno slap round the chops, with punching synth stabs, buzzsaw bass hits, and soaring keys. Dare we say a softer, more melody observing take on the UR sound Maybe, but we do definitely dare to say it's a big gun for a techno left step dancefloor. 'Book On The Beach' reveals a love for samba beats, fusing traditional rhythms with lush electronic textures whilst final track 'Panick Aggressive' floats in on super sultry mood, rhythmic twinkling bells and humming bass. As the sweet guitar riff kicks in, the track takes hold with a summery fluid motion, heart-warming, soul soothing electronic fusion in a down-tempo groove
