'Hard Rain' follows hot-on-the-heels from the acclaimed Ruby Rushton album 'Ironside', but whereas contemporary urban jazz was the focus there, Tender's solo record marks a return to another of the multifaceted artist's skills: dope house and beat music that oozes futuristic funk.

This sparse but perfectly-populated masterpiece takes inspiration from J Dilla and echoes elements of vintage Blaze, Larry Heard and Carl Craig. Warm and soulful, but also spacious and clean, Tender extracts maximum flavour out of just a few ingredients.

With Its Herbie Hancock-sampling Bassline, Some Classic Rhymes From Q-tip, And Guest Vocals By Parliament-funkadelic Legend Bootsy Collins, The Song Became An Indelible Classic Of 90s Music, A Massive Commercial Hit For Deee-lite, (reaching #4 On The Billboard Hot 100) And Is Widely Considered One Of The Greatest Dance Songs Of All Time. Although A Massive Success For The Group, groove Is In The Heart' Led To Some Pigeonholing From Critics And Reviewers, Who Had Specific Expectations For Future Records. Rather Than Deliver More Of The Same Free-wheeling, Breezy Dance Music Of World Clique, Deee-lite Took A More Politically-minded Approach With Their Second Album, Spurred Largely By Front-woman Lady Miss Kier, Who Had A Lengthy History Of Political Activism Prior To Forming The Group. 1992's Infinity Within Rendered Several Dance-chart Hit Singles, But Was Not As Commercially Or Critically Lauded As Its Forebear. Deee-lite Were Undaunted By Their Change In Commercial Fortune, Regrouping With The Addition Of Junglist Dj Ani, Replacing The Absent Towa Tei To Record Their Third Record. 1994's Dewdrops In The Garden Was The Result Of Their Efforts, Which Struck A Remarkable Balance Between The Celebratory Grooves Of World Clique, And The Social Justice-driven Infinity Within. Lady Miss Kier Had Done A Lot Of World-traveling In The Time Between Albums, And The Material In Dewdrops Was A Reflection Of Her Experiences, Applying A Spirit Of Global Togetherness To Their House-funk Grooves. Regrettably, Dewdrops In The Garden Was Not A Commercial Success, Yet It Still Managed To Render Its Share Of #1 Dance Chart Singles, The Atmospheric Techno Bounciness Of bring Me Your Love', And The Spacious Funk-house Track call Me.' Though Deee-lite Would Disband Soon After Dewdrops In The Garden's Release, The Record Remains An Unheralded Favorite Among Dance Music Devotees For Its Coupling Infectiously Bright, And Soulful Melodies, With Banging Dance-floor Grooves, And Unshakably Optimistic Vibes.

We were really impressed by "Invisibility Theory", the Sushitech released debut album from Christi Cons and Vlad Caia's Sideways Invisibility Theory project. This speedy follow-up for Half Baked Records (under the truncated SIT pseudonym) is rather good, too. Check first A-side "Spectral", a typically epic excursion where warm ambient chords, deep space electronics and glistening electric guitar motifs bob and weave around a chunky analogue bassline and locked-in tech-house drums. B-side opener "Owl Farm" is notably wonkier and weirder, with druggy drums, mind-altering electronics and the trademark glitch-laden shuffle we've come to expect from Romanian electronic music. That vibe is explored further on twisted closing cut "Animation", a particularly alien example of skewed tech-house funk.

Bridging the Italian house tradition with a touch of modern funk, Davide Santandrea, better known as Rame, and the brothers Riccardo and Francesco Cardelli, are making a name for themselves nowadays under the Capofortuna moniker.

Mixing different experiences and backgrounds, Capofortuna channels the Italo-disco / Italian house tradition driving it towards a contemporary musical horizon made up of relentless, warm and seductive grooves performed live with instruments and analog hardware. "timeless interstellar funk, without gravity, without compromise”, this is the essence of their sound.

Capofortuna debuts on Cognitiva Records with the ‘Rising Grace EP’ that includes Three original plus a remix by Leo Mas & Fabrice. First track on A side, Just Chilling, refers to the “Chicago’s old school house”, Roland TR707 for the rhythm part, massive bass, electric piano solos merge with pads and ethereal chords, a journey!

Bouncing for the love of bouncing is a huge slice of funk fueled Italo. Sporting to monster bassline some great synths and superb leads. On the B side we find Rising Grace, the track that gives the title to the EP, overwhelming kick and bass, hypnotic afro percussions, close your eyes and you'll find yourself floating in a jungle.

The remix of Rising Grace by Leo Mas & Fabrice complete the EP. The original version is reworked giving a magical "Italo House touch” typical of their 90s productions. This is a track which it is impossible to sit still too.

London based Prescription Pricing Authority returns to GAMM with another 7" monster.
With heavy doses of soul, funk and jazz infected disco this beautifully designed release delivers on both sides.

A side's Pick'em Up is a real disco thumper with big horns and powerful vocals that just works.
The B side delivers a mid 70-s jazz-funk rework that will definitely get the jazz dancers moving.

After Salvatore Stallone has lit up the sky and ground with his "Pig's Dance" and Rhythm Doctor blown minds with his ambient interpretation, another key figure in the UK dance scene got his hands on the same tune. The legendary Richard Sen, founding member of the Padded Cell and known on a global scale with the project Bronx Dogs, has wisely given to "Pig's Dance" an even different feeling, driven by a gutsy bass, enhanced by flashes of sax distorted, filtered and with exquisite delays for a devastating effect on the dance floor. This new 12 ", however, takes the name from the new original track of Salvatore Stallone" Inside My Blood" on side A. Another masterpiece by the maestro from Montesarchio, this ancient and mystical village on the hills of Benevento, near Naples. Not much to add, let's the music do the talking...

The title says it all about the latest release on Budabeats Records:
The Southern Hemisphere EP features 4 tracks inspired by the immensely rich and diverse musical tradition that South America and Africa offers.

Beginning with a slick edit of Letta Mbulu's now classic tune 'Nomalizo', London based producer Petko Turned respectfully reconstructed the track, focusing on the elements that work best on the dancefloor.
In 'Pontos das Caboclas', BeTe (a.k.a. Suhov) created a laid back yet driving atmosphere, using the main patterns and the beautiful vocals of the original song as written by Camila Costa.
In his remix, Chillum Trio added his trademark sound to the Ebo Taylor classic 'Odofo Nyi Akyiri Biara', the result is a slow burning, bass heavy house number taking the original to a completely new level.

Closing the EP is the Birdhouse collective's original composition, 'Berimbao', a catchy contemporary cumbia tune that any combo in Bogota could be proud of.

All titles have been licensed carefully, it makes us beyond proud to be able to say that the Southern Hemisphere EP has the full support of the original artists.

EDIT & DUB #10 share a private stash of disco boogie & garage jams. DR. SUPERMAN's 1979 rap track "CAN YOU DUB IT" in an instrumental form is a welcome find, along with the super rare & sought after cuts "TIED UP IN LOVE" by IYICJKO and LEE ALFRED's "ROCKIN-POPPIN FULL TILTING"

Fresh of their most busy year actively djing in Milan and across Europe, Ayce Bio, Turenne and Borbo are ready to launch a new Ep: One track each + a Remix by Bologna's finest producer and vinyl collector DJ Rou.

Funclab records runs a monthly show on Rocket Radio and a club night at Apollo club, inviting al- ways different dj's and producers to share the decks with them, among others they played with San Proper, Boo Williams, Eclair Fifi and Pangea.

After the first release 'House al dente', they spent one month during the summer touring with a van around Europe to promote the vinyl, going to their favourite radios and vinyl stores to bring it personally, ending at Barrakud festival in Croatia in front of two thousand people with a dj set and set design.

The collective is the real strength behind the newborn record label, collaborating with a lot of local producers they're always working on new things, in the next few months they are going to release also a various and other two eps.

When the past and the future collide, unexpected things can happen. And when we have music at the core and such talent providing the raw materials being the vector for this encounter is a privilege we like to gloat. Carioca avant-gardiste Guerrinha's Repetentes 2008 is a project that is close to our hearts and minds through its rare ability to convey deep nostalgia in a playful futuristic way, renovating a tradition that is the quintessence of their hometown's musical heritage with a zest for jest. Exactly what the offer here in two irresistible grooves that, while maintaining the clarity of references they lie upon, refresh them in a joyful way: 'Missão Misturebar' and 'Judas Preist'. The flipside 'Gelo Geronimo' takes us across a similar path, but intensifies the emotional element and desnifies the rhythmic components to deliver the kind of track that only a master of French alchemy such as Gilb'r could transmutate by subverting its principles in a somewhat darker take. The two dirty birdies from Hageby are back with the Back In The Day EP!

The title cut flips a classic Brooklyn funk sample into a deep house burner, Last Night really gives it to us (baby), and Estrelar showcases the groovy disco side of the 'wo.

Rounding out the EP is a Daniel Leseman remix that reworks the title track into a completely fresh production, bringing the deep dance floor heat for which the FOUK member and Outplay Records co-boss is known. All killa no filla!

DJ Pope from Chicago has remixed Love Thang by Iconic Salsoul Records girl group First Choice. Lead singer Rochelle Flemming is still touring internationally and singing the groups classics that have stood the test of time, Love Thang being one of them.

DJ Pope has made a mark in the soulful house scene and brings his skills to this record for release on Salsoul Records. Featuring funky saxophones, the remix offers a contemporary, progressive take on the original that is sure to get dancefloors moving this summer.

Ruhrmann & Rockwell’s debut 12" EP marks the inaugural release for Amikron Records, a colognian imprint established together by the friends of 'Chicago Am Rhein' and 'Ruhrmann & Rockwell' for modern dancefloor records of all kind.

The first music from the Cologne producer duo features four library instrumental tracks, all created and rearranged for a dj-friendly use.

After the first release by Dirty Channels and huge supports from Palms Trax, The Black Madonna, Annie Mac, Rampa, Disclosure, Tom Trago and many others, Take It Easy is back! The second release of the label connected to the well-know party Take It Easy in Milan, comes from the party and label co-owner DJLMP. For his debut EP, DJLMP shows his eclectic vision of the club music, passing throw disco samples, house music and percussive vibes. "Blow Your Mind" open the EP with an epic and dreamy filtered sample. On a2, DJLMP gives his dancefloor and house vision of "Kachi Kachi" by the brilliant In Flagranti. Edging in a little 80's sauce to meet with tought and gritty dancefloor attentions "Tiger Cat" is a clear highlight on the record. "Angry" close the EP with its disco percussions and trumpets. Perfect tool to cross between house and disco tracks.

Dessert Island Discs returns from a hiatus on an unchartered dessert island somewhere in the south pacific with two new disco edits in keeping with the labels 11 previous releases. On the "Us" side is Herb Flavor with his new track "the Real Thing". Herb may be a newcomer to the label but he is certainly no stranger to dance floors world wide. On the flip "Them" side Ted Empleton makes a stunning return with "Dingo Jingo" which is every bit as good as his first outing on the label, his amazing edit of "fly Robin fly" titled simply "fly Robin". Expect to hear more releases in the coming months.

The illusive Nelson of the East reappears with his forthcoming EP Phase Alternating Lines – a first class two-tracker.

The Swiss-born, Milanese artist released his first EP Night Frames just last year, making a strong entrance on Tartelet Records. This time around, N.O.T.E explores 80s electro boogie with ‘Phase Alternating Lines’ on the A side, and delivers his very own take on obscure tribal house with “Burning Palm” on the B side.

N.O.T.E is young, thirsty, and dead serious about his music. His admirable work ethic shows off not only in his own releases but also in his collaborations with other artists. In the past year alone, he has produced for Wayne Snow and several others that are keeping their work under wraps – while simultaneously creating music as N.O.T.E and under his Verner moniker. All the hard work seems to be paying off on this new 12’, where he comes through with two outstanding dance-floor bombshells.

If you’re into the 80s, Beverly Hills Cop, or just sad that you missed out on Studio 54, you’re going to love EP opener, “Phase Alternating Lines”. It’s got it all: hot drum programming, an electric boogie bassline and a cheeky melody that sticks. “Burning Palm” takes us into obscure tribal-meets-afro-house territory, utilizing percussion, synth marimba and hypnotic melodies – all held together in a tight, driving groove. Javi Bora and IAAM both individually and collaboratively have been racking up releases on manyd of the leading imprints in contemporary house over the past few years such as Phil Weeks' Robsoul, Hector Couto's Roush and Steve Lawler's ViVa amongst others.

Here though we see the duo back together for their latest EP on Decay Records, title-track 'Poseidonia' leads with infectious, filtered disco loops layered underneath organic drums and a
funk-infused bass line. Jay Tripwire's 'West Coast 1993 Remix' follows, laying focus on swirling delays, bumpy drums and intricately processed cuts of the originals disco samples before the 'Madnax Remix' offers a more reduced take on things via stripped-drums, modulating pads and the originals wandering bass hook.

Next we see Javi Bora & IAAM's 'Sunshine' on offer, as the name would suggest a sun drenched house composition featuring airy synth swells, natural bass licks and an amalgamation of hooky
disco cuts throughout. Doc Martin closes the package next, an apt choice on remix duties who deliver a grittier interpretation with fluttering synth, resonant leads and crunchy drums.

This house project, based on the idea that electronic music is a blend of different cultures and music, started 15 years ago when Max began jamming on analog machines and samplers with different projects from techno (FriendShip Connection) to house (S3A).
It is through this project that he expresses, among other things, his taste for soul and House music. Such as his beloved artists MCDE, Floating Points... he uses the process of sampling as a basis to color his music with sounds of all his inspirations, he always add his own touch and groove to get his own vision of electronic music: dynamic, warm, emotional and dirty.

Although he discovered electronic music in 92 through UK hardcore with DJ as Tanith or Producer, his culture is based on a solid knowledge of house music, soul, funk, hip hop, making him one of the most promising house artists of the French scene since 2009.

He first came to Paris with Zadig to realize his childhood dream: building a studio and later collaboration, Frendship Connection (All is just a matter of time has actually been playlisted by Marcel Dettmann).

His residency at Concrete helped him to confirm his DJ position since the last 4 years adding as well releases on Lazare Hoche Records, Hold Youth, Concrete Music, Local Talk, Phonogramme and Faces. With these releases, his remix for Laurent Garnier on Music Large and his booking request from the French legend to play with him for his residency at Rex club and Concrete, gave him legitimacy and visibility in all over Europe.


In 2014 he decided to make his own label Sampling As An Art Records and focus on finding new-blooded artists and release his very personal music. A perfect definition between underground quality emotional house music and dancefloor efficiency!
In 2015, he released a collaborative EP on Uncanny Valley Label with Max Graef and Cuthead (whom released S3A RECORDS 03 the same year), made his first live representations and currently continue to spread his vision of music.
