Nick Waterhouse, the swinging darling of the rhythm & blues scene follows, then horror show with a crossover of rap and Beach Boys sound. We have the Brazilian icons Artur Verocai and Caetano Veloso on board, Amos Lee - who was No. 1 in the Billboard charts - with the hippie anthem - Flower" - and at the end the 18 minutes track - Druck" by Richard Wahnfried aka Klaus Schulze, who stood in the 80s like nobody else for the globally admired electro scene from Berlin. - Druck" was for many years standard repertoire in Munich posh club P1. So what! The track from 1981 is an incontestable masterpiece.CD2. The opener is - Outlines" by Alunageorge, the dream duo of British Dubstep. Next up are the newcomers Kan Wakan from L.A. with a mixture of Walker Brothers and France Galle, very opulent, very well arranged. The Temples, an interesting young rockband, follow. Malia and Boris Blank (the walrus mustache of Yello) with powerful-elegant synthie pop. Trombone Shorty, who took the most famous band from New Orleans, the Meters, after thirty years back into the studio, for his version of 'Be my Lady', William Fitzsimmons, one of the new stars of the singer/songwriter fraction. In the last third of the disc comes an electro sequence with the 14 minutes - Hold the Line" as climax. Etienne de Crecy produced the track in 2000. Nobody embraced experimentation more than him, nobody had more style. Watch out for the beautiful sample of Esther Phillips. At the end: FGTH, the un / forgotten... Sunday in Bed is a father / son project by Leo (1990) and Stefan (1956) Schmidt.

Producer and boss of Mathematics records, Jamal Moss a.k.a Hieroglyphic Being is a one-off musical explorer. Jamal's music takes cues from the EBM and House that played a huge part in the city's musical underground in the late eighties and early nineties, notably Ron Hardy and Adonis, but also Industrial, Avant-Jazz and Noise. His tireless schedule of rough low-key releases over the last 12 years and his intense, very physical, psychedelic music, have made him a key exponent or maybe even a pioneer of what's recently come to be named 'Outsider House', although he prefers the more Sun-Ra like descriptors of 'Rhythmic Cubism' and 'Cosmic Be-Bop'.

His releases, much like his music, have straddled House labels and the more leftfield avant garde electronic imprints with ease. However his deeply held Afrofuturist intent and the discipline of his radical designs set him apart from the pack. Always moving forward, his music is an ever-evolving transmission from his mind to our bodies, or as he sees it, a form of meditation that the supple, tuned listener will enjoy immensely. 'The Seer Of Cosmic Visions' is a collection of tracks from his back catalogue that have been selected to make this album. Remastered by Michael Kuhn at Berlin's Dubplates and Mastering. The album is hugely varied within it's basic drum machine and synths template; from the psychedelic blowout 'The Seer Of Cosmic Visions' and the distorted, ruptured crunch of 'How Wet Is Ur Box', to more delicate meditations like 'Space Is The Place' or 'Letters From The Edge'. From the the shimmering rhythmic noise of 'A Genre Sonique' to the the woozy tribal funk of '134340 Pluto' or the rough darting strings of the off-kilter 'Calling Planet Earth' and finishing on the relaxing gaseous drones of 'Strange Signs In The Sky', the album never fails to transport the listener to another state of mind.

Satellite Stream is the debut album by up-and-coming UK artist Acquaintance, aka multi-talented producer and songwriter Chris Griffin.

Acquaintance first came to attention in September 2013 with the blissed-out synthpop of 'Telepathic' (see above), which was selected by Lauren Laverne as her download of the day. The song was complemented with a memorable video created by BAFTA-nominated director Joe Tunmer. 'Telepathic' was released in early November on Parapsychology, an EP which featured three other equally hypnotic tracks.

Released digitally in March 2014 and physically in August, Satellite Stream is an album that continues the musical and lyrical themes of Parapsychology. As a producer, Acquaintance channels various styles of electronic music - 80s pop, house/techno, 90s R&B - and weaves them together to form his own sound. An even more distinctive element is Griffin's vocal style, which is soft, layered and bravely androgynous. There aren't many other singers around who sound like this.

Satellite Stream is notable for its unusual lyrics. Griffin introduces a number of related themes and explores them from different angles. Close listeners will find threads drawn between topics like telepathy, body language, surveillance, and secrecy.

Acquaintance is part of Anti-Ghost Moon Ray, the respected Brighton collective that also includes Gazelle Twin, Great Pagans and Bernholz. 2014 is proving to be a big year for the group, as all four artists release albums and EPs. It seems likely that this rising collective will soon be an influential voice in underground music.

Michael is the amazing debut full length from Les Sins, the dance project of Toro Y Moi's Chaz Bundick.

Previously released singles on Dan Snaith's Jiaolong label and Carpark Records..

Inspired by cartoon and movie soundtracks, the largely instrumental album explores classic dance and pop music traditions. Catchy, repetitive vocal hooks gel with beats and synth work influenced by house, techno, French electronic, and '90s hip-hop production.

Bundick made the album over two years and recorded everything in his home studio.The funky 'Why' features vocals from Berkeley, Calif. singer-songwriter Nate Salman asking 'Why you wanna go and do that' 'Bother' holds down a head-bobbing, body-moving groove until a stunning hallelujah moment straight out of a sci-fi version of Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. While there are no concrete themes associated with the album, Chaz says he can imagine all of these songs playing in the middle of the brilliantly lighted and busy Ginza district in Tokyo.Touchstones like Timbaland, Mr. Oizo, and Daft Punk, and contemporaries such as Motor City Drum Ensemble offered inspiration, but most influential on the making of the album was the sage advice of a design icon. 'My favorite graphic designer, P. Rand always said, 'Don't try to be original, just try to be good,'' Bundick says. 'When making this record that was/is my mantra—it was just constantly looping in my mind. I believe 'good' is timeless and once you can recognize that you'll see the world in its fullest.'Michael follows a 12' on Carpark Records and two singles for Jiaolong. The LP is the first release on Company Records, a new label partnership between Chaz and Carpark.

On 21 September last year has died at the age of 53 years the DJ Marco Trani At 1 year after its appearance his colleague and close friend Corrado Rizza has decided to tell the story in a documentary of Marco. For all the insiders and not just Marco was the most representative dj of 80-90 years in Italy. But the echo of his talent and his extraordinary technique has crossed the borders, partly because Marco, as well as having worked in hundreds of local Italians, has exported his evenings at the "Pacha" in Ibiza, at "Les Bains" in Paris , to the "Ministry of Sound" in London and in many other prestigious club. Among the first dj / remixer and producer of Italian Dance Music, there have been many collaborations with famous artists Marco also internationally: Mike Francis, Amii Stewart, Talk Talk, FPI Project. About 4 years ago Marco Corrado and published the book "I Love the Nightlife", published by Wax Production, and had produced a documentary with the same title as yet unpublished, which told the story of the Italian and international clubbing. Corrado Rizza decided to extrapolate the most important interviews of many colleagues and friends of Marco and realize STRANGE RHYTHMS, however, by inserting the full interview and unpublished at the same Trani made on the occasion of their previous work, in which Mark is told from the beginning of his career.. There are many testimonies of his the friends / colleagues many today have become famous, Albertino, Claudio Coccoluto, P. Micioni and so many special participations of great prestige as that of Boy George, F. Knuckles, D. Morales, Joey Negro, H. Romero, M. Fuller, Gazebo, Dr.Felix and many, many others. In the documentary over 45 minutes there are archive footage and photos of Marco 80-90 years, rare footage and unreleased filmed in a period without smartphones and now makes them of great historical interest. The Booklet contains stories and photos of Marco extrapolated from his previous book and a CD collection of "classic" selected by Corrado Rizza, from funky to the first house records.

Those familiar with Brock Van Wey's music know his work is as visceral as it is prolific. While his current home base of China could easily be assumed to be more socially distant from the western world, this distance which Van Wey chooses to live might not only allow for the bountifulness of his output, but more ironically, might have something to do with the emotive longing that his music is often blanketed in. His new album, the aptly titled, "A History of Distance" embodies this longing. It waxes and it wanes with it. "A History of Distance" has a far more aching undercurrent than any of his previous bvdub works. Each of the four narrative length tracks beg for your attention then envelop you in their dreamy arc. There are even a few moments sprinkled about its near 80 minute run-time where Van Wey takes bvdub into new territory, most evident in the title track with its contorted Garage shuffle and gauzy Shoegaze epilogue. "A History of Distance" is bvdub spreading out, encasing you in waves of sound even more than before - all while projecting the pragmatic nature of distance, whether it be by geography, or that empty feeling of isolation that some of us deal with everyday, no matter how many people surround us...

2012 sees Hemlock's 20th release after four years at the frontline of forward-looking bass music and dark electronica.

To mark the occasion Hemlock boss Untold has curated a 65-minute mix joining the dots between the label's past, present and future. 'Chapter One' weaves his favourite moments from the back catalogue with a series of exclusive material from FaltyDL, Randomer, Joe, Sei A, Guy Andrews and Untold himself. The beautifully packaged CD will be released alongside three 12" vinyls containing exclusive music.

Cloud.Not Mountain is album number six for Tim Arndt's Near the Parenthesis. It is also the first to feature a more synth-laden experimental shroud. While Arndt's signature melodies are still ever present they're further obscured by textural adornments even more so than on previous Near the Parenthesis releases. The beatwork on Cloud.Not Mountain also finds Arndt treading new ground. Tracks like the opener Madrean, center piece Neume and title track Cloud.Not Mountain feature a more unsequenced and slightly fragmentary flow that is a welcome addition to the Near The Parenthesis percussive toolbox. Nothing now but off-the-grid sketches, the box full of discarded equipment, the Roland, the Yamaha...Nothing else matters now, they will find this memory if it is stored in the sky, it has to be transferred to chrome. There has to be a memory of that moment. Even if it no longer makes sense to the original thinker, a path back is imperative.

Following Leonidas's warmly received debut "Sequential EP", featuring the cosmic collaboration with Kay Suzuki, "Interstellar Vibrations" (and "Interstellar Meditation") which has won plaudits from several deep/psychedelic purveyors such as Theo Parrish, Nick the Record, Cedric Woo (Beauty & the Beat) and Manuel Göttsching (E2-E4), Leonidas + Kay Suzuki return with a higher tempo, deep, dancefloor friendly EP, without losing any of the analogue warmth and phatness that characterised the Sequential EP.


A1: Revolve consists of a series of deep, psychedelic, analogue synth sequences over an infectuous, raw, driving drum machine groove and accentuated by warm, flowing synth pads, building to a crescendo of evolving and responding analogue grooves and beats.

B1: Momentum is a driving, timeless, epic 11½ minute mid-tempo deep house journey reminiscent of the best Chicago, Detroit and British acid-house/techno.


Both tracks have been created using the Roland TR-707's sequencer triggering the analogue synths which have been manipulated live and recorded as live performances. Additional layers of analogue synths were then recorded live and layered/arranged. None of the sounds have been created or triggered using the CPU, as part of the duo's commitment to a raw, warm, analogue aesthetic.

Ushuaïa Ibiza Summer Edition 2014 is a collection of the world's finest dance records from some of the scene's A-list stars. Representing the musical policy of the infamous Ibiza venue, Ushuaïa Ibiza Summer Edition 2014 includes huge tracks from the likes of Disclosure, Avicii, David Guetta, Mark Knight, Patrick Topping, Breach, Sasha and many more besides.

The Ushuaïa Beach Club is where the Ushuaïa legend began. Each year it welcomes a quarter of a million party goers through its doors, with its infamous parties showcasing the hottest world class, stadium acts from around the globe.

Split over two CDs, each with their own distinctive vibe, Ushuaïa Ibiza Summer Edition 2014 brings together some the biggest names in dance music.

CD1 is dedicate to The Club, bringing the progressive electro heat, with ferocious dancefloor cuts from the likes of Avicii, Afrojack, Marin Garrix & Firebeatz and David Guetta: arguably the biggest names in dance music.

The tempo slows considerably on CD2, as Ushuaïa celebrates the sounds of The Afterparty. Here's you'll find bumping house grooves, with Partick Topping's huge 'Forget' and UK chart-topper Secondcity's 'I'll Tell You' setting the tone early in the mix, before cuts from Disclosure, London Grammar and Sasha finish it off in serious style.

Daniel McDermott is an Irish composer, guitarist, pianist and producer. His output includes albums
and modern classical pieces. He studied in Queens University Belfast, Dundalk Institute of
Technology and Trinity College Dublin. His music fuses elements of jazz, classical, world, minimal
techno and electronica. As a pianist he has attended masterclasses with Barry Douglas and Antonio
Breschi. He has also attended guitar masterclasses with Gyan Riley.
He has achieved one scholarship in composition and has attended composition masterclasses under
Donnacha Dennehy, Brian Irvine and Simon Bainbridge. His classical music has been selected by
The Crash Ensemble for Free State 7 and awards include the IMRO music award for his string
orchestra piece STAB. His piano trio GRIT was selected and performed at the Derry/Londonderry
UK city of culture.He has released two electronica albums; his second, From nothing to nothing
was released on London record label Malatoid records. His music has also been performed by world
renowned Oud virtuoso Marina Toschich, The Fidelio trio, New Dublin Voices, The Kirkos
Ensemble, The Crash ensemble, Clarinettist Paul Roe, Plane Dukes Rahman trio and pianist Ian
Buckle.
His third album "The Lullaby Wars" blends modern classical players with dubstep, IDM, techno
and ambient influences. Tracks like The Lullaby Wars (Clarinet), Child to Cynic (prepared piano)
and Choke (cello) pit "classical" instruments against electronic production techniques. The vocal
tracks, like "Moving With The Sun" and "Bear The Tears" showcase more post dubstep and ambient
influences.
