The EP opens with 'Black Jack', a percussive, groove-led workout built around Next up is 'As Much As This', applying similar drum programming tactics with a raw shuffled groove but this time opting for an esoteric vocal line and smooth house pads to fuel a deeper melodic movement. Highly respected Bass Culture, Off and Robsoul artist Chris Carrier turns in a remix of 'As Much As This' to follow, stamping his signature French soul-laden house sound on the original cut. The track captures a 90's feel through its crunchy 909 drums, loopy piano hook and acid squeaks and bleeps. Carrier's outstanding production skills shine through in the remix.

Their novel and unselfish vision was to act more as curators by spreading the love to their entire extended crew of fellow producers. The result is an incredible collection of 27 classics (old and new) remixed by 25 different remixers. Yes, every track is a brand new re-edit, rework or remix, from Monkey Safari's brilliant take on Chocolate Puma and Bingo Players' Touch Me to Yolanda Be Cool's remix of Erick Morillo's Jazz it Up. Armand Van Helden, Roger Sanchez and Kenny Dope are among the original producers represented, but this isn't about the same old favourites. For added freshness, the players have taken care to unearth those buried gems: Sub-Ann choose Black Magic's Let It Go, Oliver Dollar goes for DJ Sneak's Keep On Groovin' while Drop The Lime tackles Ultraworld's Life After Death. Already on the decks for a couple of years and a established regular DJ at Schwarzes Schaf (The Black Sheep) in Augsburg (along with Daniel Bortz), Dominik Marz now also shows his talent as a sensitive and highly talented producer.
After his resent debut on Leipzigs infamous O*RS label the 'Shmoozen EP is his first release on Pastamusik. Leon Holstein provided production support during the studio sessions.
The tracks stand out with relaxed and at the same evermore deeply moving tone.
While it sounds so effortless and easy, each of these three pieces contains a great deal of high tension that gets its audience inevitably into the mood to swing.
Dominik is on his way to provide lessons in creating lascivious beats and enchanting atmospheres which make us wait for his next emotional strikes.

Now this is what you can call great fun. Amidst all the numerous releases somewhere between funky house and uplifting disco arrives finally a record again that will reach consensus trans-cending genres. Already in April The White Lamp released their first 12" on British quality imprint Futureboogie. Back then nobody knew that this project consists of no one less than Darren Emerson (Ex-Underworld) and befriended singer Pete Josef from Bristol. This fact doesn't make "Make It Good" better. Because this is as good as it gets. At least if your intention is to bring a club to the point of ecstasy in the year 2012. The hypnotic bassline alone hits the bull's eye. But the way Josef's vocals make an anthem out of the track is classical dressage. And it's a matter of course that pro-producer Emerson provides an arrangement that simply just
works, everywhere and all the time.
