All killer no filler on the new Legendary Sound Research release! We've got a split double A-side EP from The Saint Petersburg Disco Spin Club and head researcher of the label, The Legendary 1979 Orchestra.

SPDSC's 'Nightdriving' sounds like the soundtrack to an early 80s exploitation movie featuring crazy driving stunts! JKriv, of Deep & Disco fame, flips the track into a mid tempo piano driven stomper adding even more action to the scenes.

On the flip side, The Legendary 1979 Orchestra's 'Love Triangle Theme' is the actual soundtrack to the opening scene of the short horror film 'Matasari'. The track is moody and tensed but somehow liberating with its groovyness. Taking care of remix duties is analog veteran Ruf Dug. His take is reverby, atmospheric, sounding straight off a lost proto house tape.

collecting orders for a repress! 4lux is proud to serve you the sounds of Italian deep house pioneer Enrico Mantini. This twelve cleverly combines two of Mantini's most sought-after classics together with two brand new offerings. All trax come in the old school deep house vibe. I'll Be There was originally released on the Ultimate Result EP on Italian cult label UMM back in 1993 and has been a fave deep house tune of 4lux head honcho Gerd ever since. The same goes for What You Like actually. This is a truly uncompliacted deep house tune released on Mantini's very own Smooth Sounds in 1992. Now 20 years later these trax still are as actual as they were back then. The two new track that Enrico recorded for this EP complement the release in a nice way indeed. Don't Make is a loose track with warm chords, organ stabs and nicely shuffled beats. Last but not least comes U Deep Me, a fantastic hypnotic bomb that sounds fantastic on any club system.

Over the past few years Huxley's name has been on everyone's lips in the house scene, following a string of deep house and garage-infused tracks for labels like Hypercolour, Tsuba and 20:20 Vision. His sound is incredibly distinctive, its swung rhythms rooted in UK garage, accompanied by diced vocals and chords that hark further backward toward originators like MK and Todd Edwards.

Huxley's latest release offers three subtly different takes on his sound. Lead track 'Lost Love' is stark and electronic, pairing swing percussion with keys that trickle upward through the beat. It's elevated further by shimmering synth licks that ripple across its surface and mark it out immediately in the mix. 'Who Am I' has been all over house dancefloors and Rinse FM recently, its downpitched vocal sample buffeted by thick organ chords. 'Walk 2 U' rounds off the package with one of Huxley's most explicitly garage-leaning productions to date, opening with a pirouetting two-step beat reminiscent of El-B, before a four-to-the-floor kickdrum halfway through transforms the track into a burning peak-time anthem.

B2 is a late night sleaze for the well-tuned dancefloor or the perfect track to help the crowd find its footing during the opening hour. The entire seven minutes ooze with polished future-house bass and the tracks being championed by top tier talent worldwide. Disco lasers and vocal snippets douse the track with a modern sheen we've heard in works from seasoned house vets, but John Monkman concoct his own chart-topping take on his debut.
