was asked to write some words about my next release on Classic.
Some of you may and some of you may not know that the dance music community lost an incredible talent close to a year ago. That person was not only an incredible talent, he was also my friend.
I wrote this song a couple of years before we lost Kenny. The subject matter was for something very different, but it related to something that equally effected Kenny and myself. I had Jon's voice in my head whilst writing and we set about recording and finishing it.
The original song was quite different, but I remixed it with Kenny in mind. I wanted it to be something that he would play and connect with. It was kind of therapeutic for me, and a fitting way to say goodbye.
I played the song to both Ewan and Andy, and they both wanted to remix it.
In fact it was Ewan that suggested that he would like to donate some money towards something "Kenny."
My good friend Roaul at Faith, also a close friend of Kenny's set up a fund for Kenny, and along side Kenny's girlfriend Wendy, we are looking at buying a bench for Kenny in Brighton...'

COLLECTING ORDERS FOR REPRESS
A new live project from SoulPhiction and the mysterious MK resulted in recording these tracks, also defining the musical direction, this project will be heading to

Opening the single is title track 'Rain Away', a smooth atmospheric slice of house embracing a lowslung and dubby aesthetic.

The duo laid the foundations with an insistent organic rhythm, while tension building atmospherics, warbling electric piano licks, ambient recordings and sporadic vocal stabs paint the bigger picture. The end result is a stunning composition truly embodying the sound of Madhouse.

To follow Voyeur offer up 'Miles Away', the pair tip the focus towards a jazz-laced house groove this time, playing off intricate piano melodies, blues style vocals, cosseting strings and natural percussion. Again the result is a classy piece of work and telling of Voyeur's musical knowledge with its undeniably intelligent feel.

Finally to close the release we have 'Gone Away', which maintains the soulful feel of the preceding cuts, yet instilling a more bass-heavy approach with the low-end and crunchy drums driving the record as delayed sax licks and reverberated key chords softly glide around the arrangement.

Rounding off an elegant and sophisticated package brilliantly.

Maeve is the new label from man of the moment Mano Le Tough & his friend since the schoolyard The Drifter. In an age of endless releases and labels Maeve aims to release beautiful, special records that will last in the hearts of the public. Maeve 01 comes from the enigmatic Baikal. A Berlin-based friend of both Mano and The Drifter, his unreleased material inspired the pair to launch the label. Following huge responses worldwide in Manos DJ sets over the past few months, the duo are very proud to be releasing these tracks on their new imprint. The Drifter provides guest vocals on "Just You and Me", which is a tripped out banger in the best possible meaning of the word. The other side of the record might actually prove to be the hit, "Why don't ya" is a deep psychedelic masterpiece. The breakdown reaches a point that is both transcendent and captivating. There is clearly the work of a master.

In the lead-up to the release of 'Motion Sickness' on December 3rd, Domino will put out a three-part 12' vinyl series with each record featuring two highlights from the remix compilation. These releases will be staggered throughout November in December, the first of which is to be released on November 19th. Full details can be found below.
Bringing together some of the most respected names in dance music with the key players in the Domino roster; the compilation celebrates dance and electronic music. In this series these incredible interpretations will only be available in the format classically associated with the genre: vinyl.

GOGO Music unveils a soulful power-pack with 'DJ Christos pres. Ree Morris - Inside Of Me'. This astute song by highly talented singer and multi-instrumentalist Ree Morris is tested on countless gigs and has the potential to cross over, as the heavy rotation airplay it already received prior its release on South Africa's national radio-station Metro FM proves. The outing contains additional to the Main Mix, a beautiful Ralf GUM version, a driving Rocco mix, a deeper DJ Christos Magic Session Remix and a clever rework by Hood Natives.

After the very successful foray into split EPs, Luv Shack Records continues to explore this concept with LUV013. The EP sees upcoming duo Space Echo make a return after their smash hit "Soul Power", while the B-side is conducted by Wahlberliner ROTCIV. "Come Back Home", the opening track by Space Echo, is a slowly building but effortlessly captivating piece of hypnotic house music with a raw funk attitude. The gently evolving synth line and the strong vocal hook are the spine of this anthemic track. The seemingly laid back "Hangover" just oozes b-movie sleaze and might be Space Echos little hommage to 60's lounge music, with an array of distorted guitars and soft pads coming to good use. That is until the synth theme kicks in mid-track and turns the piece into a late night weapon.

On the flipside, brazilian producer and one half of "The Rimshooters" ROTCIV lays down two complex yet dancefloor oriented house tracks. "Old Good Luvin'" is a soulful house hymn that pays tribute to synth driven early italo and classic chicago house. ROTCIV intertwines the different styles to create his very own blend of deep house. "Just Take Me Higher" evokes similar feelings but has a slightly darker touch to it. Eerie John Carpenter-esque pads contrast the punchy bassline, eprom drumbeat and organ stabs to create a mood coming straight from an 80s elektro joint.

The latest jam from Thorsten Scheu aka GLANCE (stir 15) and JIMMIE WILSON ("pretender") follows the vibe of classic, timeless house music, three mixes that span a wide range.

Having previously reissued "I Want You To Know", the 1991 gem from Simonelli's Groove Committee project, Deep Down Slam now return with a remix package. Leading the way is Italian House producer Nicholas in collaboration with Marcoradi, with the original's vibe very much intact but complemented by some fresh new beats and arrangement. The Second Remix comes from French House producer DJ Steaw who brings the usual quality and gives the remix the classic Steaw touch we're used to know. Zurich based Italian producer Demetrio Giannice conjures the spirit of vintage Tom Moulton on his remix and Deep Down Slam have also included Simonelli's Original Bonus Beats version from 1991 that was mastered by legendary NYC mastering engineer Rick Essig.

We all remembered definition:music 001 Horatio & Katoline - Mi Nombre.
A track remixed by the grand master Reboot himself, which shaken the
things and brought this label into the spotlight. We awaited the
follow up and it came as a warm collaboration between this dynamic duo
(H&K) and the uber producer , DJ , vocalist , Roland Clark .

What i like about these guys is that they always adapted their sound
to fit in. This time they surprised us with a warm , deep , nu disco
sound , a richly textured Eastern European influenced black sea sound
. The Original Mix melds the soft melancholy of much Middle Eastern
music with the rapidly changing structures of contemporary music , and
works beautifully. And btw it gets more seductive with every listen.

B1 ... When you lose a friend is following the same line of slow , deep
, sexy , nu disco rhythm that this ep carries out . From what we
understood this track has a special story , actually being a tribute
to a long lost friend of Horatio. A grand master in martial arts that
was a mentor , a friend, a father figure that helped him guiding into
life. It brought chills on my spine when i heard it and for sure you
can feel a lot of emotions when you listen it.

B2 DJ Le Roi returns after his bomb release 'I get deep' offsetting a
remix with a more traditional electronic sound. His remix is a strong
statement: a full-bodied 4/4 cut laced with slightly deep synth and
half-sung, half-chanted vocals from Roland - all in keeping with the
Middle Eastern feel of the record. The Funky bass chords are perfect
for a dancing-barefoot-in the club because you are too sweated to keep
the shoes in...

Chasing Kurt, das sind Pascal Blanché, Wojtek Kutschke und Lukas Poloczek: zwei langjährige Deep-House-Fans und ein einzelgängerischer Funk'n'Soul-Typ, den sie unterwegs aufgabelten. Alles begann in einer schicksalhaften Nacht in Gießen, wo die Jungs zu Hause sind. Wie die meisten zufälligen Rendezvous unserer Zeit geschah es in einer Bar: DJ legt bis tief in die Nacht auf und Barkeeper mixt, was das Zeug hält. Als für beide das Ende ihrer Schicht naht, wagt Barkeeper ein paar Gesangseinlagen. Das fällt DJ auf. Er lädt Barkeeper zu einer Jam-Session ein, im bescheidenen Studio eines Dritten. Barkeeper ist hocherfreut. House ist eigentlich nicht so sein Ding, aber er tritt seit Jahren auf und jammt, und so sagt er sofort zu. Das Ergebnis ist "Daydream", eine sanfte und doch satte, glutvolle kleine Ballade - die dabei so gut ist, dass für ihre Veröffentlichung ein brandneues Label gegründet wird. Es folgten verschiedene weitere Releases, die den Fokus auf Chasing Kurt lenkten. So ist der Track "Money" von Maya Jane Coles für ihre DJ-Kicks-Mix-Compilation ausgewählt worden. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit hat das Trio mit Riesenschritten sein ganz eigenes Dance-Podest erklommen. "From the Inside", das Debütalbum von Chasing Kurt, begeistert mit schleppenden Beats und verschleierten Dancefloor-Rhythmen, wunderbar gepaart mit verführerischen Legenden von verlorenen Lieben und gewonnenen Schlachten. Eine runde, sorglos Dance-Platte und ein alles umhüllendes Hörerlebnis.

GOGO Music proudly comes up with the second release of Sir LSG, after we presented you 'Sax In The City', which still was released

under his former moniker 'Hood Natives' and became a smash-hit in 2011. This time Sir LSG teamed up with renown Soul-singer Brian

Temba and Kafele who adds his distinctive trumpet lines. Remixes are contributed by DJ Spinna and Ben Moss to complete a

splendiferous release.

Sir LSG has found his sound. Whether as a DJ or producer Lesego Sefako steadily progressed, since he won the DJ Battle

competition of 2008 South African Music Conference. After producing 'Sax In The City' on his own, he split out of the group 'Hood

Natives' and started releasing under his own artist name Sir LSG. It seems as if he detected his very own sound at the same time.

Pushing the envelope with a stoic determination and a rare love for detail, his sound always contains a bit of Jazz and a big portion

Of Soul.

'All I Am' features Brian Temba, a venerated R&B singer from the motherland, who has shared the stage with the likes of Kenny

Lattimore, Anthony Hamilton and Ne-Yo. His debut album 'Something Better' included the hit single 'Dominoes', which received two

Channel O Awards nominations in South Africa in 2009, while the album itself earned him a SAMA (South African Music Award) for Best

R&B/Neo Soul Album. In 2013 Brian's new album 'This is My Time' was nominated as Best R&B on the Metro FM awards. 'All I Am' is one

of the few side trips of Brian Temba into House Music, and shows his great versatility.

In addition Kafele lends his talent on the trumpet to add another level of musicality to the beautiful song. The experienced Jazz

musician became a household name in the House-scene, since his releases 'Above The Sky' and 'Complicated' on GOGO Music and

meanwhile can look back on various successful releases on other labels as well.

Remix glories for the song come from DJ Spinna and Ben Moss. DJ Spinna surly does not need much of an introduction to music

lovers. Since the start of his career, he left his indelible fingerprint in various musical categories. He produced legendary Hip Hop

groups, Remixed Pop Music icons and of course is at home in the House Music genre, in which he delivered countless titles which

are considered Classics nowadays.

Ben Moss finally returns to the label after a longer pause from music. Finishing his doctorate in Pharmacy was priority and did not

leave him much time to produce music. But his mix clearly and imposingly shows that talent does not fade, if one takes a break. Back

with a bang, we now hope to hear more from him soon.

This GOGO Music release has been in the works for quite some time, but it surely was worth the wait and efforts, as we now are able to

present a well rounded package of a well written song -exactly our aim at GOGO Music.

Brooklyn-born Spinna absorbed all the influences that were available to a young man growing up in 1980s New York, from the Caribbean and Latin vibes found in his own home (his father's record collection a major stimulus), through the block-rocking beats that were being dropped by the nascent hip-hop scene at neighbourhood parties, to the soul and disco being spun by Frankie Crocker and Shep Pettibone on the radio, and by Larry Levan at The Paradise Garage where Spinna became a punter.

Dabit Records is a new deep house, disco tech and club funk label from Max Previti (aka Pat Callaghan), Nick Morris (aka

DJ and producer Nello Nicita), Dave Scott (aka composer David La Maestra), Gilberto DiGioia (a

musician, percussionist and composer) and Joe Addicted (aka Giuseppe Acunzo, sound engineer

and DJ). The team's mission is to release music 'marked by a constant search for elegant and

alternative sounds with a sort of spiritual message addressed to clubs and DJs who are interested in

a different feeling within their sets.' The first EP, Chicago Tune, comes from the Dabit Records coowner

Kick Douglas moniker whilst Apparel boss Kisk provides a special vinyl-only remix.



Opener Sympathy in a Club pairs a warm, fuzzy analogue aesthetics with well-sampled male speech

vocals to cuddly house effect. The tempo is lazy and inviting, there percussion spare and loose and

the bassline gives the track a gentle sense of propulsion. The track also gets a remix by Kisk, aka

Apparel Music owner Giuseppe D'Alessandro, and it is even more late night, jazzy and romantic.

Next, Klaas (Back to 90s) is a more immediate and kinetic deep house construct with rich dubby

undercurrents and interesting melodic hooks. Simple but effective, it's no pastiche of days gone by as

the name might suggest, rather a forward looking cut rich with house history.

Chicago Vibes is great piece of groove science with real and loose sounding hi hats skating over a

rolling kick drum and gentle smattering of toms and congas. Raw for sure, it's a classy house warm

up tune that will get floors filling in no time.

An emphatic debut for this new label that suggests great things are ahead.

The Dabit label is aiming to offer up new experiences in house and techno, and for the second
release turn to someone who has proved he knows how to do that in the past, namely Alex Agore.
On labels like 4Lux and Say Ahh! Agore has laid down his own blend of garage and house to a
warm reception.

His 'Reach For Me EP' opens with the title track, a vibey floor filler with slinky hi hats and a classic
diva vocal bouncing between tight, pinging kick drums. Simple but hugely effective and done in
style, it's a bona-fide bomb.

'Tall & Handsome' is up next. This one drives forward that bit more purposefully with expertly
crafted synths whizzing around the meaty beats of the track. They light it up from behind and
imbue it with plenty of future soul, and that's before the 90s-tastic piano stabs and chopped vocal
cries join in the fun: the floor will be on fire in the presence of this one.

Finally, 'He Will Always Be There' is a kinetic brew of bold basslines, fulsome kicks and
unashamedly good time pianos that douse the whole track in a jazzy warmth form start to finish.

A more accessible house EP you will find it harder to unearth, but that's not to say there isn't plenty
of invention and proud production in everything to which Agore puts his name... As such, a great
job from Dabit on just their second release

Supplement Facts get set to release a killer package from prolific Israeli producer and long-time collaborator, Chaim. The latest, superlative 'We Are' EP is a three-tiered dancefloor odyssey with the stylistic range to last from dusk until dawn.
A-side 'We Are' feat. Meital Derazone will immediately hook the crowd with a moody bass riff and dark echoing vox, slowly building into a hypnotic synth driven peak time voyage with an epic feel.
Flip over to the B-side and 'Orion Skies' is a more understated affair lifted with floaty atmospherics as disembodied vocals whisper over the analogue groove and fluid pads and creeping chords permeate the spacey arpeggiated synths. Final track 'Social Assassin' has a more unhinged edge with deranged vocal clips, a tough percussive groove, trippy echoing FX and propulsive bass. Ascending organ chords lead to a dramatic bassline drop sure to destroy the dancefloor.
Long-time friend and compatriot to Guy Gerber and the Supplement Facts label, fellow Tel-Aviv export Chaim is another of the country's most prolific electronic artists. Having collaborated with Guy on a number of releases and also becoming part of the prestigious cannon at BPitch Control, this EP for Supplement Facts will be the latest in an over-flowing catalogue of heavyweight club records.

Versatile producer Nikola Gala gets set to release monster club track 'Only' on the prestigious Rekids imprint. Part of the exciting wave of Greek talents coming up in house and techno over the last decade, Nikola Gala is a prolific producer who has delivered his diverse sounds on an array of the undergrounds most discerning labels, including Ibadan Records, Freerange, Plastic City and of course Rekids, a label to which he's very proud to be attached. Inspired by the scene's many different levels and continually evolving as an artist, Nikola has been producing since 1995 and DJing since 2000. Now residing in Berlin, the city has had an impact on his sound but the ethos of Nikola's work remains the same: energetic music with an uplifting character and 'Only' on Rekids certainly hits the spot.
