Fur Coat explore the power of thought in their first album for Crosstown Rebels 'Mind Over Matter' after a steep climb into mainstream consciousness.Fur Coat are about that space where darkness meets the groove. Their combination of live vocals and psychedelic synths create dance floor magic. The Venezuelan duo was spotted by Crosstown Rebels head Damian Lazarus little more than eight months ago, and they have since been on lockdown to complete their first studio album.Bringing together some supreme guest vocalists such as Mel Blatt of All Saints fame, the young NYC star Rap Lisa, Big Bully known for his previous work with Jay Haze, Cari Golden, Argenis Brito and Stee Downes of Lovebirds chart fame, the result is primed for taking charge of the dancefloor at the end of 2012.
Fur Coat is the brainchild of Sergio Muñoz (Delete) and Israel Sunshine, two fresh producers from Venezuela. Their first single 'Space Ballad' feat. Argenis Brito featured a huge remix by Totally Extinct Enormous Dinosaurs and kept all eyes firmly focused on the duo. Combined with the omnipresence of Latin music growing up, a formative cocktail of Giorgio Moroder, Larry Levan and La Fania All Stars and Salsa Brava led to a vibrant musical philiosophy and powerful desire to work their magic on the dancefloor.

House hero Miguel Campbell releases he debut single on the ever-consistent Hot Creations imprint. 'Baby I Got it' - a mouth-watering mix of sexy disco-tinged house cuts with a dose of murky business from Richie Ahmed in the remix.

Defected presents FCL In The House is the first essential mix album of 2015, a two CD mix of classic and contemporary house music, including cuts from Larry Heard, Bob Moses, Seven Davis Jr. and Audiojack, as well as a handful of FCL exclusives.

FCL is the house project of Belgian DJ/producers San Soda and Red D, who, in 2012, released 'It's You', a club phenomenon that started life as a Panorama Bar-inspired DJ tool and went on to be one of the biggest house tracks of 2013. This year's follow up 'Can We Try' alongside stunning remixes of Audiojack and Kele Okereke (amongst others) proved similarly definitive, firmly placing FCL in the upper echelons of house music's elite.

Defected presents FCL In The House is the duo's first ever mix album, with both Red D and San Soda digging deep to deliver two distinct mixes indicative of their broad and discerning taste for quality house.

'If there was one thing we always wanted to do as DJs, it was to be asked for a mix compilation in which we would get total (house) freedom' says Red D of putting the mix together. 'We aimed for a DJ set filled with old and new tracks that you will want to come back to in 10 years' time'.

This exclusive vinyl sampler pulls out just 4 of the tracks featured in these two mixes - A perfect balance between 'deep' house, disco house, soulful stuff and some Chicago roughness.

Tom Budden has been heavily involved in the industry for several years now, working with the likes of Time Has Changed and Suara and launched his own label, Alive in 2008, which has welcomed rising artists in the shape of KRL, Rebel, Bubba & T-Bone and Chris James onto its roster. Here Tom joins the Gruuv label with more refreshing house cuts, following the footsteps of Huxley, Luna City Express and Catz 'N Dogz.
The release opens with the original mix of 'Lady Is Trouble', a low-slung house cut infused with hooky vocal lines, stuttering low-end tones and remnants of retro, disco-house. Budden & Forrest keep the groove simple, employing warm hi-strings and shuffling drums while the emotive vocal lines brilliantly carry the musicality of the track.Stepping up to the plate next is Coat Of Arms aka Chris James (Formerly Chris James & Eats Everything), Coat Of Arms were propelled into the limelight with original works and remixes for Futureboogie, Pets, Culprit and Off. Here Chris lives up to the monikers highly praised reputation with some heady, bass driven melodic house, implanting a signature bumping, tom-driven bass line on the original number and tightly blending an amalgamation of raw stabs, fluttering pads and modulated vocals to create another unique interpretation. Up next is Tom Budden's solo venture on the release, 'Falling', veering things into darker territories with eerie bass tones, heavily delayed claps and low-pitched vocals. Budden steadily evolves the cut to a peak where he plays on variations of the melodic elements, creating an evolving dynamic. Closing the release is Delusions Of Grandeur and Instruments Of Rapture artist OOFT!, with a stellar contemporary disco rework of 'Falling', stamping his signature pitched-down house vibe on the original with crunchy drums, a dubbed out stab line and some old school resonant synth action.

A three-track release from the prolific French producer Brett Longman. After a lot of experiences all across Europe and a pretty extensive discography, his creativity combined with his production skills makes him one of the most versatile artist today. From rythmic minimal techno to road movie blues or melodic songs, he now enters a Crooner techno genre that he is inventing along the way.

Noise In My Head christens its retrospective imprint Efficient Space with a relic from the back rooms of the embryonic 90s Melbourne club scene. On The Moon collects the only four released works of Braden Schlager, a synth enthusiast who first cut his teeth with the inner city post-punk crowd before honing his craft as a resident live act at Commerce Club. Lifted from Braden's debut EP of the same name, On The Moon awakens with two epiphanies of Morning. The vocal led Du Heaume Mix beaches itself, fulfilling a fantasy of Nu Groove commissioning a house track from Klaus Schulze alter ego Richard Wahnfried, while a darker instrumental version gives the shufflers a second wind. An early attempt at techno, Rummage intercepts as a panicked twilight zone interlude, leaving no trace on the balearic peak King Of Comedy, Braden's lone submission to the 1991 Monash University sci-fi theatre play Cyberbia. Now sounding more relevant than ever, On The Moon celebrates an unsung Australian pioneer and gives relief to those desperately digging for these two impossible to find original pressings.

Jonny White's No.19 Music has been keeping up the pressure in 2012 with a string of quality releases from the likes of Art Department & Konrad Black, Ali Love, Cameo Culture and Tone of Arc, the San Francisco based, multi-instrumentalist producer who has become a core member of the No19 team. Tone of Arc, better known to friends as Derrick Boyd has been a fixture on the electronic music scene for a number of years but it's since hooking up with Jonny White and No19 that his star has really gone into its ascendency. His debut single 'Shaking the Sky/No Pushers' received broad critical acclaim on its release earlier this year and saw
Derrick featured widely in the international press.
Now Tone of Arc is backed with a brand new release that is set to give an insight into the broader musical realms of which he inhabits. The record opens up with 'Goodbye Horses', a cover of the 1988 Q Lazarus hit that famously featured in the film 'Silence of the Lambs'. Boyd treats the composition with a deft touch, staying true to the original in many ways whilst bringing his own unique sound to bear, a dark edged eighties electro feel runs throughout and Boyd's own vocals soar over the arrangement with real power, quality stuff indeed.

Ruede Hagelstein and Watergate go hand in hand. Not only is Ruede one of the longest running residents at the club, but he's also the man behind some of the label's most acclaimed music and the curator responsible for lucky number 13 in the illustrious Watergate mix series. With this, it seemed obvious to put Ruede up to his next task: an album. It is with great anticipation and excitement that we bring you the first LP for both Ruede and Watergate Records, Apophenia. Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data, and for Ruede, this is the perfect interpretation to describe his writing process, in which ideas appear from the empty, chaotic darkness. A random chord progression or percussion arrangement opens the door to the imagination where structures appear and begin to take shape. Unlike most of his previous work, Apophenia is not strictly attached to the dance floor, but created to fit just as seamless while listening at home as it is in the club. For over a year, Ruede collected ideas and visualized his plan. It was important not to mimic his earlier work, but to focus on a certain sound. While staying minimalistic yet extremely organic and melodic he has created a timeless long player. While the LP spans a range of emotions, it is always grounded in Ruede's unparalleled, singular sound. Pair that with some notable features from artists like PillowTalk, Hollis P. Monroe & Overnite, Justin Evans and C.A.R. and you have a plethora of dazzling music.

The first part of his big city tale entitled Großstadtmärchen acted like a catapult for Oliver Koletzki in 2009, pushing him from the DJ booth into the limelight of electronic pop music. Now, three years later, Oliver releases a sequel to the successful long player in the form of Großstadtmärchen 2. It all came to life simply for the love of the original version from Kenneth's album Fragments From A Space Cadet in 2010. Martin couldn't get rid of the irresistible vocals that gets stuck in his brain. Said and done, Martin licensed the track and made these exclusive VINYL ONLY remixes together with his fellow Swede, Copycat. They came up with a Nu-Disco chugger with a Balearic feel to it with a glimpse of 80's vocoder synth-funk. Second part of Butch's hot 'Highbeams' release features three great remixes of the original 12' by esteemed producers Maceo Plex, Miguel Campbell and PBR Streetgang.. hot as you like!!
Ellum label boss Maceo Plex steps up for the first interpretation of Highbeams and stays quite close to original whilst adding his typically tight drum programming and an electro infused bass line to the party.
On the flip and its Miguel Campbell's turn to refigure Highbeams and he does so by restructuring the original vocal around warm pads and a trademark bass line, giving it the usual injection of cosmic funk he has become so renowned for.
PBR Streetgang then throw in a classy remix of Faith characterised by detuned vocal chops, an infectious bass line and very tight production skills.

Recorded in spring 2014, "Heart" is the debut solo album by Gothenburg-born Joel Alter. During the process, he focused on finding the artist within himself and accepting the outcome as the value of his own footprint. But also for Uncanny Valley, releasing an album by an artist of whom we never released music before as singles or on compilations marks new ground. But since we know Joel for some time and are great admirers of his two albums he released together with Henrik Jonsson as Jonsson/Alter on Kontra-Musik this step felt very natural.

It´s Deep House Baby, Mike O Velja & Philipp Schneider comeswith their second release on Audio Safari.

Dinky delves further into her Chilean roots while softly embedding the rhythm of the night with next single 'Blind' from the album 'Dimension D'. Inspired by old Jazz of the 30s and 40s, Dinky weaves a beguiling story with the acoustic swing imbued with her own electronic touch. Stepping up for the first remix are part-time collaborators Hreno and The Mole who deliver the MHMD Remix stripping almost entirely the original's voice and melody, instead leading with a carnivalesque drum groove and frayed, oscillating synths. Scandinavian disco lord Prins Thomas keeps the melody in tact but encases it in a framework of spaceout spooky disco for his 'Diskomiks' and fantastic moody Dub.

Alejandra Del Pilar Iglesias Rivera was named Dinky by her sister at birth. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, as a child she studied Ballet and the Suzuki method of piano before relocating to New York to become a contemporary dancer.

Her drive to make music brought her to Berlin a decade ago where she quickly became a dominant force in dance music, making her mark through releases on Carpark, Cocoon, Ostgut, and the critically acclaimed ´Anemik´ album in 2009 on Mathew Jonson´s Wagon Repair. Her fifth studio album, 'Dimension D' on Visionquest sees her evolve into singer-songwriter and performer and take on a new musical direction.

Chris Hreno and The Mole are both revered Canadian producers residing in Berlin who have joined forces in the past on remixes for various labels including Turbo Recordings, Haunt, and Souvenir. The Mole has had prolific solo output including his exceptional debut album on Wagon Repair 'As High As The Sky'. Hreno has made a recent comeback to production with EPs on Sound Architecture and Meander.

Prins Thomas is widely regarded as a pioneer of the space-disco sounds emanating from his native Norway. Joining forces with Hans-Peter Lindstrøm in 2003, the pair both have a background in bands - Prins being an accomplished bass player - and they run and release music on own labels Feedelity, Full Pupp and Internasjonal.

Laura Jones has had a breakthrough 2012. Fulfilling touring dreams and winning the hearts of the global scene with her sensual melodic house and seductive, driving DJ sets, it may come as a surprise that 'Let Me In' is Laura's first, albeit highly anticipated, solo EP. Dropping on Visionquest, 'Let Me In' develops Laura's signature sound, painting a fuller picture of the artist through deeper techno shades, live vocals and trademark hypnotic style.
Title track 'Let Me In' could be Laura's most beautiful and textured yet. A first foray into vocals (a feature bound to build and develop over time) the whispery undulating layers of 'Let Me In' weave in and out of shimmering synth waves and ghostly melodic chimes while the 'Dub Rework' delves deeper and darker with a tight and punchy groove.
On the flip, 'Lose Myself' is another emotive builder, the spacious, raw groove filled with dubby textures and tingly FX giving way to lush pads that float through the echoing vox as drama builds with a melodic bounce to work the floor. Final track 'Every Thought' kicks off with reverberating rubbery bass and shakers, while a gothic-esque framework develops with evolving synth lines and filtered bleeps.
A protégé under the Visionquest banner and nurtured under the wings of Leftroom, Laura Jones exploded into the public consciousness in 2011 with her deep and intrinsically melodic vision of house. Her 'Live A Little' track was included on the 'Visionquest Spring Club Collection' sampler, and her breakthrough single 'Love In Me' stormed the Beatport chart and held the no.1 spot for several consecutive weeks - the second time courtesy of stellar remixes from Maceo Plex, Kate Simko and Eats Everything. Later came a joint EP on Crosstown Rebels and an immaculate mix for the Leftroom presents...series. Now with this timeless 4- tracker on the mighty Visionquest, the diminutive producer is destined for an even bigger 2013.

We're excited to present the remixes of the amazing album - Behaving Like A Widower' by producer Holger Zilske and Swedish singer-songwriter August Landelius. The album was released on our label in 2011 and was nominated for the award 'Deutscher Radiopreis' in the same year. 'Behaving Like A Widower' is so good, it actually wouldn't require any remixes. Nonetheless, our friends went down to work with great care and passion for detail. Four up-and-coming artists appear on SHAG Edits Volume 2 which is kick-started by Rebel's "You Somebodies", a bassy piece of looping filter house meant for peak time play. Newcomer Riri throws down jazzy horns, marching snares and acoustic rimshots in a slow moving "Get It On", while Chocky's "I Like" features cut vocals caught between interchanging melodies of pulsating rhythms. Jamie Trench, responsible for the labels first EP, delivers sexy vocals in "Locks, Frocks & 2 Floating Sparrows", a laid back disco joint with the same summery vibe as barmy Miami night.

It all started in New York City, almost by accident. The Toronto native came to New York on vacation, and never went home. Growing up in Canada, the last of six children with parents of Jamaican heritage. She's had many genres of music that have influenced her. Her father and brother were both dj's and at a very young age she had the opportunity to see acts like 'Sister Sledge, 'Chic' & 'Kool and the Gang'. It all took place at Toronto's Ontario Place where free concerts were put on in the park. As she looks back, she realizes how lucky she was to have witnessed such great classic bands. She may have been a burden to her siblings, but she is more than thankful that her mother made them take her along. Lisa grew up in a house filled with reggae, funk soul, jazz, folk, rock, disco, and new wave. There wasn't anything she didn't listen to or wasn't open to when it came to music, and it shows in her work to date.

Being in New York, Lisa received a warm welcome from the underground electronic community, and released her first single written by DJ Smash. The title 'Makin' Love Makin' Music,' released in 1995 on New Breed Records. Other independent labels also featured her vocals such as Dj Wally And Swingsett's, 'Dog Leg Left' on Ubiquity Records, and her first major hit in the UK, 'If I Could' on Sirkus Records. A few years later she teamed up with Jay Denes, Dave Boonshoft, and Bruno Ybarra of Naked Music Recordings. Her writing partner and producer Dave Warrin collaborated with Jay Denes to create, 'You are Love' and one of her most popular songs, 'Always.' 'Always,' earned her global acclaim that even the pop queen herself, Madonna mentioned the song as being, 'so cool' in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine in 2001. In 2005 she released her debut album 'Cherry' with producers and co-writers Jay Denes, Dave Warrin, and Eric Stamile.

Lisa Shaw's music is featured on a broad spectrum of genres ranging from Deep House and Down tempo to Drum & Bass and Broken Beat. She's been featured on albums with King Britt, QBurns Abtsract Message, Presently, Lisa tours solo as well as with dj/ producer Miguel Migs of 'Salted Music' in San Francisco. Salted Music released her 2nd album 'Free' and has been her home since her departure from Naked Music in 2007.

'FREE' showcases Lisa's illustrious voice through a well crafted journey of soulful vibes and bouncy gems, with producers Dave Warrin, Miguel Migs, and Tim K keeping it moving. New House-Classics 'Feel' and 'All Night High' are supported by chill-inducing down-tempovbeauties like 'Better Days', 'Honey', and new Dance-Floor stompers 'Music In You' and 'Like I Want To.'

Occupying the nocturnal space between the poignant maximalism of Tim Buckley & the codeine beats of Mount Kimbie, Cloud Boat aka British duo Sam Ricketts & Tom Clarke bring a gorgeously original & soulful new slant to electronica with 'Wanderlust/Drean' the new double A-Side single from their upcoming debut LP.

The first time we heard of Cloud Boat was with their R&S single 'Lions On the Beach' a slice of folk-spliced 2-step electronica, shimmering & swooning in all the right places. Making the short hop from R&S to the reactivated sister label Apollo seems a natural progression as their music continues the lineage of classic, experimental records from the likes of Aphex Twin, Mark Van Hoen & Biosphere.

The easy place to go is emotion - warm, richly expressive vocals ebb & flow beautifully over haunting lyrics but the music as a whole signifies anything but easy listening. The instrumentation surrounding it is equal parts sparse experimental yet powerfully resonant from the humid beats to Ricketts' languidly affecting guitar licks pointing as much to the future as it does to past greats like Steve Reich & Philip Jeck. Ultimately for what can ostensibly be classified as electronic music this double A-Side single is a delicate intimate affair, a beautifully sustained exercise in mood & tension & far more precious & intriguing a record than most others right now.

* After more than 25 years in dance music, Brazilian drum & bass pioneer DJ Marky has announced long-awaited debut artist album 'My Heroes' - scheduled for release in April this year.

* No stranger to success and an icon in his South American homeland, DJ Marky is an internationally renowned DJ and producer and label boss of his own Innerground Records imprint. Igniting dancefloors with with the same passion for music he first started producing with two decades ago, DJ Marky's compilations, mixes and remixes number over 100 - including edits for Everything But The Girl, Claude Van Stroke, Fatboy Slim and Deadmau5 - and it's high time he got to work creating an artist album.

* The album's lead single, 'Silly', sees a hazy, whimsical vocal layered over Marky's signature acoustics and relaxed Brazilian groove - a playful introduction with a hint of his jungle roots.
