Ital Tek shows a massive shift in sound on the 'Gonga EP', inspired by the spate of footwork and related mutants of the style that Planet Mu has been releasing recently, creating exit strategies from the current virus of the 90s inspired retro house fad.'Gonga' is an extremely powerful track, rolling out weird, syncopated tabla-style drums over tough dancehall-esque rolling kicks and rising clavs, building up a huge vertiginous rush of ascending synth lines that leave you breathless. 'Pixel Haze' uses deep layers of 8-bit synth and lush melodies to create a huge swelling sea over which footwork kicks and basslines roll. 'Cobalt' takes things darker and colder, with a pumping kick drum reminiscent of technoid drum'n'bass. With some of dubstep's elegant spaces, a swelling metallic sound and 808 drums it leaves a dark and oppressive feeling. µ-Ziq's take on 'Gonga' is more minimal than the original, throwing in odd syncopations, diva vocals and a more jungle-inspired drum sound, layering rhythms in syncopated patterns over the pitched-up tabla sound of the original. Altogether a thoughtful and brilliant new sound.

Producer and singer Cooly G returns after a lengthy release hiatus with a new single for Hyperdub that's a taste of her seriously good forthcoming debut album 'Playing Me', due early next year. These two tracks are especially chosen for their dancefloor power and suitability, but showcase how her singular style has developed into something truly special. The breathtaking, cosmic depth of 'Landscape' features production assistance from Simbad. In a very direct way it makes a case for Cooly's development and confidence as a singer but also her ability to mix immersive, frayed synths with catchy song writing and driving tribal drums that keep the whole track buoyant. The flip side ' It's serious', made with legendary Baltimore house producer Karizma, has a pitch black atmosphere, with dubbed, echoey voices and synths spiralling out of the mix, weaving in and out of some seriously flipped, tough funky kicks and snares and a loose kettle drum. To put it simply, there is truly no one creating music out there quite like this right now, and this single is a strong indicator of her album's testament to a unique and original talent.

It's been a long time coming but finally Deep Medi are proud to present, Japan's biggest Dubstep export V's arguably one of Jamaica's all-time biggest stars Max Romeo to bring you 'Babylon Fall'. This is Goth-Trad's latest release and last before his album. The EP leads with 'Babylon Fall' featuring Max Romeo. Max Romeo is best known for his album 'War In A Babylon' produced by Lee Scratch Perry at the Black Art Studios featuring classics, 'One Step Forward', 'War In A Babylon' and the Reggae anthem 'Chase the Devil'. Goth-Trad lays down a trademark bass heavy, rumbling rhythm with Max Romeo still showing after all these years that his vocal is still standing strong and lyrical content bringing positive vibes in these troubled times. 'Falling Leaf' and 'Sublimation' see Goth-Trad in a deep techno mood. 'Falling Leaf' is a relentless barrage of sub bass and industrial dub mechanics whilst Sublimation is more stealth like with its late night inner city running's, think Japan via Detroit touching down in the UK. With 'Itinerant Priest' we have saved the biggest dance-floor destruction till last, from the opening chimes, organ drone and intense rave stabs through to the fierce pulsating bass you know this has got pure, unadulterated mayhem written all over it.

You might know Hatti Vatti from an outstanding piece of music 'Different Music' written for Mindset back in 2009. A soulful Dubstep, Techno fusion that many will remember in the years to come as a great record. Now Polish born Hatti Vatti gives us a sneak peak on his debut recording for On The Edge, expected release April 2011. Another Dubstep, Techno fusion featuring vocals from Echo Ranks. Then, as if the original wasn't enough to wet your ear drums, the legend that is Andy Stott is on remix duties! He hasn't gone as industrial as some of his previous productions you might have heard, but still seriously Dub Techno and I for one have been playing the remix to death. All together a great (no pun intended) package!

Germany based producer Kassem Mosse releases his second EP for Nonplus, entitled Enoha, The four track release follows on from last year's ' We Speak To Those/Hi Res' 12 inch for the label, which is run by UK duo Instra:mental. This year Mosse - real name Gunnar Wendel - has already released two solo EPs, including the Workshop 12 and a limited 7 for Mikrodisco which included the brilliant DJ Koze-esque mindfuck house track '7am'. http://www.inhabitonline.co.uk

Following from the Cosmic Bridge debut release - a collaboration with label head Om Unit titled Solar Cycle / Merkabah - UK bass music heavyweight Kromestar returns for the label's second release with a solo four-track EP titled Parallel Sounds. A pioneer of the early dubstep sound, Kromestar has spent most of the late 00s releasing on labels such as Mala Mystikz's Deep Medi, Southside and Fantastic 3. Since 2010 he's been busy exploring new sonic territories and this experimentation shines through this EP for Cosmic Bridge. Across the four tracks, Kromestar delves into low-slung 80-90bpm realms while still exercising the bottom end pressure and infectious swing he's become known for. Parallel Sounds also includes the hotly-tipped beatless production The Outer Limits a collaboration with Team Starfleet that does away with the standard template and results in a deeply unique experience.The tracks on Parallel Sounds have been getting heavy rotation on Om Unit's Maisonette Electronique podcasts as well as on his Boiler Room appearance (http://boilerroom.tv/om-units-45-min-mix/). Jay 5ive has also been supporting the music on the pioneering Rinse FM. Response so far has been both positive and overwhelming leading to this release in the closing months of 2011.Alongside his forthcoming releases on the Bass N' Love label, the Parallel Sounds EP sheds more light on Kromestar as a producer genuinely not afraid to continue moving forward and experiment sonically. It will also no doubt cement him as a producer worth checking out for each and everytime as we enter 2012. Genre-wise we'll leave it up to you... Just don't go crazy now!

Sepalcure are poised to release their eponymous debut full length through Hotflush this November. In advance of the album a key track, 'Pencil Pimp', will be released as a single, backed with an exclusive track, 'I'm Alright'.The single reflects Sepalcure's approach to the album, where Travis Stewart (Machinedrum) and Praveen Sharma (Braille) utilize the longer format to develop their collaborative process and incorporate the diverse influences present in their solo work to their sonic mixture. Machinedrum's much-heralded Room(s) LP and Sharma's recent EPs on Hotflush and Rush Hour reflect the impact of the frenetic, paranoid rhythms of the modern Chicago underground on the wider electronic world and the return to vogue of another musical style that originated from that city: House. But both artists add a crucial sense of emotional sensibility and melodic sensuality that defines the Sepalcure sound.

Reading based dubstep label 3.5 do it again with this two part Ep. Label bosses THC and Will Blaze employ the talents of Vista, Spherix, DJ Madd, Riskotheque and XI to do justice to this well known and loved label. Dubstep is blowing up right now so pull your finger out and experience the bass

Author's first single is set to land just ahead of their November-slated debut LP for Tectonic. Listeners can expect deep melodic music with real instrumentation and - most importantly - no pretension. A tough combination to deliver effectively, yet Author do so with consumate ease. So who or what is Author A new name on the scene, no doubt, yet the producer duo that constitutes Author are certainly no newbies in their own right. Ryan Gath aka Jack Sparrow has a slew of deep-dubstep dancefloor killers under his belt, as well as the jaw-dropping 2010 'Cicadian' album on Tectonic. Alongside Sparrow is fellow Leeds based beat-sculpter, long standing friend and producer Dom Howard, known for his Ruckspin dubstep production monkier as well as being a key member and producer for the live dubstep super-group Submotion Orchestra. 'The City' is a strong, energetic future-garage riddim packed with depth, subtlety and laden with plenty of dancefloor savvy. The opening strings and city soundscapes set a restrained but tense and melancholic atmosperic context. Almost from nowhere the heavy beats and bass combo drops, delivering hard, rolling garage drums and warp-speed bassline. Full of intricate shuffle and dynamic energy, 'The City' is a killer track all round. Flip for 'Teacher', which expertly captures the essence of the original 2004-2005 dubstep vibe while updating the sonic palette and production levels for 2011. Heavy sub-fuelled bass pummels underneath choppy dubbed out hits and broken tribal drums. Simply quality.

The final 12' Vinyl taken from the Turn The Page album. Whilst other tunes have hinted at it, 'Metroplex' fully embraces their inherent love of techno with huge half-time 808's and synths that would make Juan Atkins chomp at the bit. One for those who know and a lovely surprise for those who are yet to know. On the flip 'Future Shock' sticking with the vintage outboard gear sounds the guys then up it once more for one final drum & bass rollout that has killer written all over it. Turn it up, close your eyes and get marching!

A side ''Under' from Evol Intent featuring a vocals from singer/song writer Jackie B. This dubstep track is dark, sexy, melodic, and poppy, with a bass riff and drums that encourages you to urgently to hit the dance floor, and shake your ass. The vocals are sexy and consistent. She reminds me of Esthero in how she can make underground production sound so polished. Yet she can take you places emotionally because she makes intelligent choices her vocal tonality. The production is dark, and sounds like a eerie episode of a Twin Peaks score. You will be hearing lots more music from her really soon. She's also a great producer as well. (remember where you heard it first.) Look out for more from Evol Intent, and Jackie B in the near future.

Finally released on 12' Vinyl is the Funk Ethics & Lucid Directions (formerly RLD) dub that was flying around last year entitled 'Give', stepping up on the remix duties is Von D who pulls out a truly sublime and sexy refix featuring one of the tastiest bass-lines for sometime. The original sits firmly on the electronica shelf, subtle stabs and lush vocal licks with support coming from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Kidkut and Gilles Peterson.

For Hessle Audio's 17th release, co-owner Pangaea presents a two-track 12' of his own take on UK bass music. Inna Daze = 132bpm / Won't Hurt = 134bpm.

After two fine EPs, the experimental hip-hop project helmed by former Digable Planets leader Ishmael Butler steps out with a full album release, 'Black Up'.

The Aliens return with another Anthem. There has been a lot of speculation as to who these bad men are, with most guesses being people who have released on the SSDS label or other South Londoners. Some of the main guesses have been Kromestar, Coki, Cotti, F-1, N-Type, and Kosha, but I'm not convinced anyone actually knows who is in it.

Smokin Sessions are back with an outstanding new signing 'Versa'! Born in Milton Keans and recently settling in Manchester, one of the biggest hubs in the Dubstep scene, Versa is no stranger the studio. This boy is only 20 years of age, but it sounds like he has been making beats for an eternity! 2 step beats lace his tracks with soulful frequencies overlaying what can only be described as genius. It's one of the first tunes we are now promoting from new boy Versa, but mark my words, this is only the beginning! A massive shout goes out to Rowl as well for the collaboration on 'Soul'. Watch out for this ICU boy as well, big things to come!

Here's an insane dubstep tune from Brown and Gammon which has been creating a major buzz even way before its release. 'Blow My Mind' is a track filled with firepower and the second track on this solid Circus release is 'Riddle Me This' which is also a bomb!
