Badman Press was established in 1999 as a collective of like minded DJ's out of Ottawa, who shared a passion for bass laden breakbeats and abstract adventures. 4 tracks of deep soulful house/techno.. more excellence, slightly harder/more jacking than previous outings but still covers a broad remit of house/techno over 4 tracks.Darling Farah returns with his second EP of 2011. Entitled 'Division', the Detroit-born producer offers four tracks that journey further into deep house, techno and machine-soul. The EP grabs you from the offset, while dream-like qualities wash over the listener they contrast perfectly with an offbeat, energetic 4/4 backbone. Division will undoubtedly solidify the hype around it's precociously talented 19 year old producer and add more critical acclaim to that already received from his previous releases, 'Berline' and 'EXXY'.

Atlanta's Distal is one of the most hotly-tipped producers of the moment. His tracks have been played by Sinden, Appleblim, 2562, Joe Nice, Ramadanman, BenUFO, Julio Bashmore, Breakage, and more, and he's been featured in FACT, Resident Advisor, and XLR8R, to name only a few. After the scorching singles 'Bad Acid' on Tectonic and 'Boss Of The South' for Sinden's Grizzly imprint, he is now set to release his debut 7' on Starkey and Dev79's Seclusiasis. Combining time travel with dance music, Distal breaks down the more ambiguous sounds from the past and fuses them with thoughts and equations of the future. Because of his unconventional approach to dubstep, funky and techno, Distal has been forced to take a few risks, but along the way has created a very specific and friendly sound for himself. On this outing, 'Eel' winds and insists its way along five minutes of looping dark electro disorientation, as ticking metallic beats and sliding signals ride a shifting ground of sub-bass distortion. Conversely, 'Kurgan' begins as an altogether more restrained experience, stepping out on a lively half-cut hip hop rhythm ... then a minute in an organ explodes into demonic life, a maniac cackles in the distance, and Gaslamp Killer asks himself how that thunder got stole from right under his nose.

Instra:mental's ever-evolving imprint is preparing to drop one of the more esoteric dance singles of the year in Double Heart's 'Salsa', a glooped out swirl of an electro-house joint that jams on a particularly twisted variety of wavelengths. What strikes initially is the oscillating breakdown, but once inside the blender we are subjected to beady, drizzled percussion and six different shades of fire. Scratcha DVA - producer, DJ and host of Rinse FM's flagship Breakfast Show - readies his third 12' for Hyperdub; two incredible songs that showcase some of the breadth of his talent from his forthcoming Hyperdub debut album 'Pretty Ugly'. 'Madness' is a softly emotional yet vital and original take on R'n'B, featuring the vocal talents of heavyweight Philadelphia-born singer Vikter Duplaix, who pens verses of despairing pleading to a would-be lover. Scratcha's gentle production backs this melodrama with a barrage of loose, sloppy drum sounds and a chorus line of sympathetic synths that sound like robots impersonating human singing. On the memorable chorus, Stevie Wonder-like bent synths chords coo and enfold Duplaix' weary summary of the situation. The added instrumental version gives the listener the chance to hear this chorus line in full. 'Polyphonic Dreams' is an intense dancefloor ride, it's mix of hard kicks and intense atmosphere with washes of colourful analogue fuzz and a nervous Drexciyan polyphonic arpeggiation modulating aggressively through the track out-techno-ing the most techno of producers, but adding the essential flexing rhythm that only someone with a background producing grime and funky can bring. These are must-have tracks that will win over new Scratcha DVA fans and leave listeners salivating for his debut album.

full colour sleeve, 180g pressing. Clouds are a Finnish electronic music production team that consists of Tommi Liikka and Samuli Tanner. Tommi is a Helsinki native and Samuli comes from a small village deep in rural Finland. The pair met through mutual friends in 1999, and ever since planned on producing music together, hindered by both working on various projects and shows of their own. The plan was finally realised after a string of coincidences and happy accidents led them to sharing a house in the northern suburbs of Helsinki. This is the 3rd release from Clouds on Deep Medi Musik, the follow up to 'Protecting Hands Pt1&2'.

Cyrus is a true pioneer and veteran of the Dubstep scene and has been around since its inception releasing various singles from as far back as 2004 on Pinch's Tectonic label, Southside Dubstars, Distance's mighty Chestplate label and of course his own imprint Random Trio Productions under Random Trio and Cyrus. Cyrus's album 'From The Shadow's' on Tectonic released in 2007 was one of the first Dubstep long players and featured stone cold Dubstep minimal classic 'Indian Stomp' which was also picked up and featured in hit Hollywood movie 'Children of Men' alongside Digital Mystikz and Kode9. Cyrus's brutally minimalistic, hypnotic and cavernous sound runs throughout all his productions and is beautifully captured on his second release for Mala's DEEP MEDi Musik with the forthcoming tracks 'Vision' and 'The Calling'.

Hailing from New Zealand, Truth and Decoda have established themselves as true heavyweights of the dubstep scene. Following releases on several high profile labels, and their hit album 'Puppets' Truth lay it down for Wheel & Deal. Truth & Decoda - The Emperor: Emperor is the heavy hitting, distorted Reese tearout monster with a dramatic intro of horror film proportions. This follows the dark jump up vibe of Wheel & Deal, and will smash up any dance. Truth & Dutty Ranks - Calling you back: This is a upbeat style track, reminiscent of the older dubstep sound. t's been an interesting few years for the one called Jakes. From being one of the highest-regarded MC's in the drum and bass world, he took his hand to producing. After creating some of Bristol's earliest and most seminal Dubstep tracks, such as 'Modem' and '3Kout', his studio skills and style became further embossed. In early 2010 his tracks, 'Rhythm' and 'Skanners' spearheaded the productive assault that was the HENCH Mixtape Vol. 1. For the next installment of the HENCH mixture, Jakes steps up with a double dose of his signature production style. Fasten all loose furniture to the floor and turn up the sub... A. THE DALEK - A familiar sound bite used in a less ordinary surroundings. Papa 'Ench lures you in, then steps it up with chopping, high-tempo bass rhythm. Wait for the lead-synth to come in, creating an evil backdrop to the hollow steps 'The Dalek' lays down.
