Fury and Hecla is a meeting of worlds. Named after a near mid-point between the residences of artists Fieldhead and Loscil, it explores both the familiar and the foreign. Although not a collaboration in the strictest sense, sounds were shared by each artist allowing for a sort of aural infusion between the compositions. The results are a series of fragments and quotes that appear and reappear - sometimes in ghostly form - throughout each artist's tracks.

This is a first taste for Colo's upcoming debut-album "UR". Comes with a very nice remix by Christian Löffler.

Hinter Colo stecken die beiden Londoner Produzenten Ben
und Nick, die sich im zarten Alter von 17 während ihres
Studiums der Musiktechnologie kennenlernten und als Act
namens Transonic Storm mit Tracks wie - Boys will be
trousers' (für die Ewigkeit konserviert auf MySpace) ihre
ersten gemeinsamen Geh- oder wohl eher Gabbaversuche
unternahmen. Mit dem Alter kam die Einsicht und nun ihre
erste Single unter neuem Namen auf Ki Records: - Holidays'.
Und es ist wirklich ein bisschen Urlaub für die Ohren, was
die beiden da gebastelt haben. Keine Spur mehr von Happy
Hardcore.
Auf der A-Seite lädt der Original-Track Holidays zur sanften
Reise - ein Downtempo-Track mit mystischen Vocals, die
sich über den kompletten Song erstrecken um den
perkussiven Rhythmus zu untermalen. Durch eine raue
Soundästhetik und verträumte Synthchords gewinnt Holidays
an Tiefe - und die Hörer einen ziemlich guten Eindruck
davon, was ihnen auf dem Debütalbum des Londoner Duos,
das bei Ki Records erscheint, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes
blühen wird.
Auf der B-Seite legt dann unser Labelveteran Christian
Löffler Hand an und verpasst dem Original mit sphärischen
Klängen und knisternden Drumsounds seine eigene
Klangschrift - ohne dabei zu vergessen, noch etwas
Tanzbarkeit hinzuzufügen. Nicht nur für Fans des
Löfflerschen Schaffens ein flockiges Highlight, das vom Ohr
direkt ins Herzen wandert.

Sean Pineiro combines different musical elements to one stringent sound story, filled with anecdotes.Fester Bestandteil einer jeden Labelarbeit: Bei zig eigesendeten Promos Preziosen von Prüll trennen. Dass der digitale Abfalleimer kaum der adäquate Aufbewahrungsort für die Produktionen eines jungen Herren namens Sean Piñeiro ist, war Ki Records schon nach schnellem Durchskippen klar; welches Glück unser Label hatte, die Tracks überhaupt in die Finger zu bekommen, aber nicht: Denn eigentlich hatte Piñeiro nach einem abgebrochenen Studium der Anthropologie in Utrecht Jazz-Pianist werden wollen; es verschlug ihn nach New York, wo er statt dem Klavierschemel jedoch die Bank drückte - und zwar im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes - bis er sich schließlich entschloss, sein Glück beim New Yorker City College zu versuchen und dort Music Composition zu studieren. Zwei verworfene Karrieren brauchte es also, um Piñeiros 14-Track-starkes Debütalbum auf Vinyl und CD zu bringen. Ob sich auch der Titel der Platte - Saved once Twice' darauf bezieht

"Marigold and Cable" marks an indelible new phase in the trajectory of Alex Cobb's solo recordings and prior missives as Taiga Remains. The album's four compositions are streamlined and focused, finding a balance between studied contours and compositional intuition. Tints of early Stars of the Lid and Kevin Drumm's lambent drones are apt starting points, but Cobb routes them through a live set up without the aid of loops or synthesizers.

Punctuated with philosophical statements and political punches, the former MC proves he isn't afraid to use his voice and production skills to unite music and passion with his latest album on Circus Company. The outer rhythms of deep-rooted electronic music form the backbone of 'Black Frames', while its veins are filled with the red­-hot attitude hip­hop, outerspace soul, and forthright lyrical content. A remarkable variety of songs covering topics such as personal relationships ('Psylica'), cultural issues ('Race on Haight') and global government actions ('Law') rock alongside bass­-centered dancefloor bombs like 'Nu Threads' and 'Clean St'. Through its body, Aju also tips his hat to 60s psych rock, early 70s fusion, and the soft undertones of blues as can be felt in the Magnum Opus of 'Vins Noirs' with it's full choir finale, the wildly fun and uptempo 'Bee's Birth' and the reflective close of 'When We Drift'. With a decade of releases under his belt and remixes for the likes of Nicolas Jaar, JT Donaldson and Herbert, San Francisco Bay Area native Marc Barrite AKA Dave Aju is a true maverick of the electronic music scene and 'Black Frames' is a proper follow-up, both a literal nod to the classic 60s/70s artwork that hung in his home studio, and a bold statement toward that rare place where breaking a sweat and breaking the rules come together. Aju's distinctive voice, a fixture in his production and live performances, has proven to have a life of its own.

Nuearth Kitchen christens its Nuearth Conservatory sister label with an exquisitely laid-back EP by the Stockholm, Sweden duo Tommy Awards. The four luxurious, untitled tracks on Sessions arose from a live jam the twosome recorded for Made Like A Tree's esteemed podcast series in early 2013. Tommy Awards have refined the raw materi- als from that excursion into a balmy aural journey into realms of spacious tranquility.
Track 1 enters earshot with an eerie, pointillist synth motif reminiscent of John Carpenter or Goblin and a creeping, stealthy rhythm, creating a tension between beauty and intrigue. This is something of a red herring, though, as the rest of the record is beatific enough to soundtrack your next deep-tissue massage. The crepuscular, slow-motion Balearic house of track 2 swells with gorgeous symphonic synths and is nudged onward by relaxing congas. The long coda exudes a profound sense of drifting on pacific waves. Track 3's laggard beats lope under a majestically drifting synth that ices over your goggles like those on Joy Division's 'The Eternal.' It's stunning. The 14-minute finale is ridiculously grand, a gilded sundown processional across the beach and into the sea, set to one of the most chilled house chugs ever. If you don't feel perfectly centered and content after Sessions, you may be beyond help.

Following 2011's The Hearts of Empty Liverpool based band Dakota Suite led by Chris Hooson in collaboration with David Buxton are back with another superb album on Karaoke Kalk. * Known to his Mother as Yemi, Blacksmif grew up in South London and was surrounded by Jazz, R&B & Gospel from a young age. Moving onto to Garage, D&B & Dubstep through his adolescence, he manages to shoehorn all of these influences into his music.
* 'My Own Blood' sees the young producer make his vocal debut over a minimal house beat, with percussion reaching a crescendo, then falling away - underpinning his stark vocal about his relationship with his brother.

John Foxx and Jori Hulkkonen have collaborated on a new EP, featuring 4 brand new songs, 2 remixes by film-director David Lynch and a radio edit of the exquisite lead track 'Evangeline'. The other songs - 'Strictly', 'Something Is Coming Down The Avenues' and 'Can't See You Anymore' - are as dream-like and strange as anything in either artist's catalogue. For Foxx, the closest reference would be his 1981 album, The Garden but the surrealist feel of the new material is more displaced and dislocated. There's a strong sense of melancholy, loss, destruction and also romance. Perfect material for David Lynch to reinterpret and re-imagine, quietly stretching out 'Evangeline' with the sound of surf, a drum machine heartbeat and the twang of a 50s guitar. It's a beautiful, evocative remix and a shimmering instrumental version.
According to Hulkkonen the idea was first discussed back in 2010 'when John Foxx And The Maths played a live show at the Roundhouse in London with me supporting as a DJ - and I also ended up on stage to play on John's song, 'Underpass'.'
 Foxx and Hulkkonen had worked together before on two singles, 'Dislocated' in 2005 and 'Never Been Here Before' two years later, but the pair were keen to try something new. 'What I wanted to do was try a somewhat deeper way of collaborating,' says Hulkkonen. 'Creating an EP where the tracks are linked thematically, emotionally and sonically. Thankfully John agreed. Now, some three years later I'm happy the record is finally done and it indeed carries the elements of mystery and surprise it was intended to have. And the fact that David Lynch is on remix duties further adds to the conundrum that is European Splendour.'

Röyksopp and Robyn are proud to announce the release of the 'Do It Again', an incredible 36 minute 5 track mini album which will be unleashed on 26th May 2014 and precedes a new Röyksopp album to be released later in the year.
The 'Do It Again' tour with Röyksopp and Robyn includes a headline slot on the 6Music stage at Latitude Festival on 19th July.
'Do It Again' is the first single from the mini album and is an 'accidental pop song' written after a night out together in Bergen. It is one of the most effervescent, effortlessly uplifting electro-pop tunes of recent years, and started life as a rave-inspired throwback.
Elsewhere, the mini album covers big thumping house in the shape of the club-ready 'Sayit'. On the other end of the spectrum there is the closing 'Inside The Idle Hour Club', which utilises Robyn's vocal discreetly to create a pensive, slowly evolving soundscape that's worth diving headlong into.

Doss bursts forth into our reality by stepping sideways from one where the 90s boom never ended - an alternate Earth of curved, shining surfaces and strobing colours. As a producer and singer exploring "Electronica" as a concept, Doss sidestepst the revivalist tag by reaching across genres, from trip hop and trance to liquid drum & bass and Eurodance, and warping them into something simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic. Perhaps what makes her music so vital is that she manages to avoid using her influences as obvious templates. Instead, she uses particular genre tropes as tools in a contemporary, almost EDM, context; a place where the synth melodies of Crystal Waters and Love, Inc. coexist with the slinking shuffle of LTJ Bukem and Fabio. Doss makes bold, emotional pop music that bursts with imagination. But beyond the sheen there is a complex fragility reminding us that glossy fantasies are just as interesting for their subtext. Bereits mit den letzten beiden Veröffentlichungen von Coss und Anders Wasserfall hat sich Haseland Magnetschallplatten neu positioniert und sich einen Schritt von Funktionalität der Tanzfläche entfernt. Intensität und atmosphärische Tiefe haben auf LEPUS (lat. für Hase) absolute Priorität und stehen vor Funktionalität und Tanzbarkeit. Dafür sorgen Ambient, Drones und Elektronika von Künstlern wie Mathias Schaffhäuser, Shrubbn (a.k.a. T.Raumschmiere und Ulli Bomans) oder die Hamburger Deo & zman, die hier mit ihrem Projekt mob (alpha mob) auftreten. So treffen hier z.B. rüde Basswalzen and Dubs (Shrubbn) auf hypnotische Elektronika (Opifea) und Drones aufeinander, und Vollblut-Melancholie (H. Godjonson) geht auf Bassmusic (Llyphon + Terrorrythmus) zu. Weit entfernt von Beliebigkeit wurde bei der Zusammenstellung grossen Wert auf das Zusammenspiel der Titel und Stimmungen gelegt. Bewusst wurde für das 'Lepus"-Projekt kein Sublabel von Haseland installiert. Die - Kontor Sunset Chill'-Reihe hat sich über die Jahre zu der beliebtesten und erfolgreichsten Serie in ihrem Segment in Deutschland entwickelt. Dabei hat sie eine feste Fangemeinde
gewonnen! Es ist also wieder an der Zeit den Alltag hinter sich zu lassen und sich pünktlich zum Frühling mit einem Soundcocktail aus 60 Sunny Deep House-Tracks & Chillout-Perlen in Urlaubsstimmung zu versetzen. Eine Mischung,
die für jeden Geschmack etwas bereithält und ein Muss in diesem Sommer ist!

Papik is the now well known project created by Nerio Poggi, Rome based musician, composer, producer and arranger who's been getting a lot of positive response from the international Nu-Jazz /Jazz Lounge scene in the last few years. His first album in 2009, 'Rhythm Of Life', included the song 'Staying For Good', sung by Alan Scaffardi, which was and still is a hit on it's genre. His collaboration with various artists, which includes amongst others Mario Biondi in his album 'Handful of soul' and 'I love you more', brought Nerio to produce in 2011 Ely Bruna's Album 'Remember The Time' and Fred Buccini 'Unusual Nat'. Both are themed Covers projects out on Irma Records that obtained a great International feedback. On his follow up Album 'Music Inside' which came out in 2012, the lead vocals are again by Parma based Alan Scaffardi, now official frontman of the Band, together with Nerio himself and Ely Bruna. Music Inside was also released in Japan where the full Live Band performed at the historic Blue Note in Tokyo for Two Sold Out Concerts.
The first single from the album was Puzzle Of Life, sung by Ely Bruna, already picked by Japanese fashion brand Gallardagallante as music theme for their 2012 campaign. Japan is in fact a territory where Papik is extremely popular and will perform on 6th May at the legendary Tokyo Blue Note. Among the rest of the tracks on the album also three covers 'Family Affair' (Mary J Blige), 'Black & Gold' (Sam Sparro) and 'Raccontami di te' (Bruno Martino). The great appreciation of this cover, originally by Bruno Martino, gave inspiration to Nerio to produce an album entirely dedicated to this great Italian artist and in 2013 he released the project Cocktail Martino with a number of guests sthat were happy to take part in the Project, some of the best Italian singers and Tom Gaebel , a German crooner very popular in Germany . At the same time in 2013, he produced and arranged Matteo Brancaleoni's Album 'New Life', Matteo is one of the most popular Italian crooner , he also went to Produce Neja's 'Neja Vu' , the well known Italian dance singer, that in this new project devotes herself to the more refined sound of Soul Lounge and furthermore another project by an outfit called Mr. Wolf , this particular project is inspired by Nerio's guitarist Alfredo Bochicchio and is projected to a more Adult Rock sound inspired by the West Coast sounds of great Bands like Steely Dan. 2014 will see the release of Papik's third album titled ' Sounds For The Open Road' . Conceived as a collaboration Project and released as a double album divided into two different sections, one of a Jazz reference and a Soul Album with names like : Frank Mc Comb, Sarah Jane Morris , Mark Reilly (Matt Bianco), Tom Gaebel , Fabrizio Bosso , Ely Bruna , Andreas Aleman , Simona Bencini , Wendy D. Lewis, Alan Scaffardi , Walter Ricci, Francesca Gramegna , Dario Daneluz , Frankie Lovecchio , Erika Scherlin . The first single and video released will be 'Special Love' sung by Ely Bruna.

Like a dream you don't want to admit, F.A.G. Diarrhea Cult's 'Ashes 2 Ash' is gut wrenching, punchy and frighteningly vague—a dark, minimal collage of canned sound, bleak, unaccommodating lyrics and almost-there grooves. Meet Ashlee, your mother, your sister, the girl next door. Don't listen to what they told you about her. Among gym-whistles, clipped chimes and noisemakers, she sings of an agitated encounter with a dog. In lazy autotune she tells you why you ought to sober up. She thinks you're her brother. For all the EP's DIY irreverence, there is complexity and richness in turn—of vocal phrasing, of rhythm, of language. Ashlee's voice is so nice, but nothing she says is easy. Snatches of coherent melody bloom before an awkwardly delivered lyric or odd synth butts in. And all the while some kinda funk hangs in the back.

Good Stuff House couldn't be more aptly named if they tried. This trio of Scott Tuma along with Zelienople's Matt Christensen and Mike Weis has been conspicuously absent for a while, but this reissue of their untitled debut serves as a reminder of their potency. Americana is a term that gets tossed around often, but in these dusty hollows it gains meaning. Translucent tones hover in empty space, trembling as they hesitantly coalesce. Folk axioms are broken down into dust so they can be woven back into something new, something beautiful.

frech, kann wahrlich die Seele berührt werden. Und das mit Erfolg: Das Konzept blickt bereits auf drei äußerst gelungene Ausgaben zurück.
Dabei erreichte die LAUSCHKOST 3 Platz Eins der iTunes Electronic Charts. Am 11. April serviert Vargo mit der vierten Ausgabe neben zwei
eigenen neuen Tracks auch dieses Mal eine wunderschöne Auswahl an musikalischen Leckerbissen: Songwriting trifft auf groovy Lounge und
Jazz, Electronic auf funky Disko und House. Mit viel Liebe selektiert und entdeckt. In kunstvollem Spannungsbogen aufeinander abgestimmt. Als
Aperitif hören wir den dänischen Electronic-Künstler SCHODT gefolgt von der bezaubernden Soul-Stimme ALMO aus Frankreich. Das
deutschsprachige Entrèe wird von einer der heißgehandeltsten Entdeckungen des Jahres gereicht: LAING mit ihrem "Morgen danach" Song "Mit
Zucker". Gefolgt vom wunderbaren MAX HERRE mit "Nicht vorbei" zieht es einem unweigerlich die Mundwinkel zu einem Gute-Laune-Grinsen
nach Oben. Der nächste Gang besteht aus drei groovig-jazzigen Loungetracks von VARGO in einer Kooperation mit dem französischen
Ausnahmegitarristen CHRISTOPHE GOZE sowie CLUB DES BELUGAS und MOODORAMA, die mit ihrem aufwändig produzierten Club Jazz
Sound den Fuß unter dem Tisch zum Wippen bringen. Zum Hauptgang werden nun drei Tracks von Deep House bis Funky Disco serviert:

Ambientklänge von AGNOSTICA und GUSHI & RAFFUNK fallen, um uns am Ende von VARGO mit "Let Go Now" zum Digestif wieder auffangen
