Having graced us with so much great music in the past, it might be surprising to find that this is Silent Witness' first ever solo artist EP
on Dispatch Recordings. We proudly present 'The Arc Light EP', featuring four superbly-crafted tracks that confidently cover a broad
spectrum of musical bases, styles and sounds at 170bpm and upward. Instantly recognized by its distinctive sirens the title track 'Arc Light' is defined by surging low ends that swarm through with
undulating fervor. Marked by mystery but never devoid of musicality, the EP keeps you guessing at every turn and the angelic chants in 'Lost' are a testament to this, shrouded in techy gurgles and spiraling bass refractions.
Whilst experimenting with every track, the EP still manages to maintain that signature Silent Witness sound we've come to know and love. Presents marks his goodlooking debut with a sublime slice of jazzy D&B. 'Hustlers Don't Cry' combines stepping drumwork with a hypnotic double bass riff, sprinkes of flute, and horn stabs that give the track some serious funk flavours.

(B1) Paul SG - Chapter 3 Lesson 4
Paul SG solidifies his place as one of the shining stars of the goodlooking roster as he returns to the white label vinyl series with 'Chapter 3 Lesson 4', A frantic drum workout propels the track forward, underpinned by a retro infused sub bassline, evoking memories of the early jungle era. Eastern sounds fused with lush harmonies on the breakdown, provide the perfect calm before the storm.

'I don't throw the words avant-garde and celestial around lightly but this touches the very nerve of the craft of this music drum and bass; many years from now when we look back this tune will be a 'waypoint' of the times.' Goldie, CEO MetalheadzA dreamteam collaboration to start off Critical's 2012 season from the hugely lauded Sabre, who returns after a long break since his astonishing debut album of 2010, Stray and Halogenix. The perfect antidote to soothe us out of those January blues, simply gorgeous. 'Oblique' kicks off with a delicate but tough break that cuts through the mix as gentle pads wash over the soundscape to a breakdown that oozes class and a deft touch. Smooth keys then drop, light strings and the arrival of a deep soul vocal that carries us through into amidst of aural ear-pleasing. Subtle to the end this is a serious piece of music; reach for yourheadphones and drift away.The trio get a little harder on the flipside with 'St. Clair', a track that toys on the tech-step tip for a slice of glitchy D&B naughtiness. A sprinkle of vocal cuts and blip FX joined by some polished bass make for a peak-time floor filler perfect to get any club bouncing. Also included is a truly sumptuous downbeat remix of 'Oblique' from Manchester's Synkro, a name fast becoming synonymous with the very best in bass music. Alive" is a song by British record production duo Chase & Status, featuring vocals from British singer Jacob Banks. It was released independently as the third single from their third studio album Brand New Machine However, the song charted prior to independent release and entered the UK Dance Chart at number. The release of the music video also caused a surge in popularity and the song rose to number 48 in the UK Singles Chart. It has later risen to peak at number 21. The song also featured in a FIFA 14 trailer for Xbox One and PlayStation 4

The new Citrus is a very special one by Krone & Malsum. A compilation of the 2 best upcoming digital releases by the boys from Spain. Roaring basses, rolling beats and crazy one shots. A little deeper on the musical side, but most defenitely a banger for the dancefloor! Classic neurofunk sound as we like it!

This twentieth 3024 release is by my friend Trevino. I'm particularly proud to put this out because it was Trevino (aka Marcus Intalex), who signed my very first tracks and gave me my break back in 2005 (a 12 called Get Down on his label Revolve:r).In the last two years he's started taking his techno more seriously, writing new tracks at a very fast pace. Wilkinson, the hottest D&B producer to emerge from UK scene in 2013, today announces Too Close ft Detour City, the next single to be taken from the album Lazers Not Included. The single follows the Top 10 smash Afterglow, the biggest D&B breakthrough tune of the year which has now sold over 150,000 copies in the UK alone and spent 5 weeks inside the top 20. Too Close, with it's intricate dub break, showcases Tabitha Benjamin's, aka Detour City vocals, and is sure to be another cross-over hit for Wilkinson. Wilkinson confirms Too Close remixes to come from the biggest names in UK dance (listed below), including a VIP remix from himself. Wilkinson, has been on unstoppable form since the release of Need To Know at the beginning of the year. Arctic Music. Alaska's 33rd vinyl release takes you on an escalating journey with its head-nodding breakbeats, layered pads, bass booms and chords. Violin, piano and rhode keys lead the ascent into a passionate orchestral crescendo and Jasheri is born. On the flipside Alaska flexes the sample muscles and lowers the tempo to 85 bpm with the Arctic-sleeze score of Zoranine. We're pleased to welcome back the extremely talented Need For Mirrors duo back to the Dispatch camp. Here they strike completely
on the money with the hard hitting Funk-led 'Sling Blade' and backing up the A side we have a heavy slice of Bristol themed flavour
for 2013 with 'Grapefruit' (plus an additional extended digital-only version). Both tracks present a clear nod to the old school and
inspirational late 90's sounds we always loved (but never left!). Need For Mirrors prove again with this release that they are quite
simply on a roll both as individual artists that make up the NFM duo and in their own individual right, definitely ones to watch for the

Starting off the single we have 'Zero Tolerance'. This ferocious track is not to be taken lightly, it growls and progresses like a raging
bull hurtling towards a matador. Receiving strong support from the likes of Andy C and Klute, it was also picked up by UKF for their
YouTube channel on first listen. Prepare for damage.
'Tapout' is the second track on the single, packing just as much venom as the first. Towering over the dance in true gladiatorial
fashion, the gnarly bass chugs brutishly across any floor, whilst flashes of techy overtones run riot through the heart of the track.
Sitting comfortably in all outcomes, whether it's festival capacities or intimate club crowds, 'Tapout' completes the release perfectly.

Babel is a beautiful roller which see's eastern vocal chants and instrument licks reflect against a dirty and raw bassline that always gets a reaction.

Malicious is a nod back to the classic dark steppers of the mid-to-late 90s. Sci-fi atmospherics and fx build you up to a twisted lfo'd bassline before a middle break down of reese destruction tears any club apart. Pure attitude and vibes throughout.

Henry Rodrick is the man behind the single best demo email Studio Barnhus ever received. The results can be heard on Don't Believe, the debut ep of this 29-year-old jazz funk enthusiast/software engineer. These tracks represent the very finest of Gullmarsplan's small but thriving footwork scene and have been tried and tested thoroughly by the Studio Barnhus dj trio over the last year. They work pretty good on 33 rpm too! Henry is part of the Svensk Bas crew together with Marcus Price, Cristian Dinamarca and Baba Stiltz. The A side contains the cut of N.Phect called Cascade. You can instantly hear that its light years ahead of the competition. Like a bulldozer it'll come at you only to change into hoover mode and fly over year head like your in the year 3060.

Misanthrop makes his long awaited return with this monstrosity of a remix, taking The Zodiac to a whole different level. If producing was a game he would have been entering cheat codes cause this one is just unfair. It contains as much devastation as it contains funk, a true hybrid.

* Having enjoyed the honour of launching the label last summer with the highly acclaimed 'Firethorn' and 'Pandorum', Frankee's doubled his dynamite with no less than four dancefloor-focussed slices of absolute bass gold.
* Showcasing his creative range with depth and clarity, every element on this EP is coated in a robust sense of timeless drum & bass magic and melody: Nodding at the scene's rich past, while pushing us as far into the future as possible, each cut will quickly find its way to the very top of your playlist.
*We launch with 'Harlequin', a purring roller that's devilishly simple but demonically effective. A groaning bassline and tubular subs vie for your attention as the steppy riddim drills the message home with such razor-sharp punctuation, each additional percussive element that's added as the track develops causes major chaos.
* Next-up 'Paranormal'. An instant hair-raiser, the quintessential pitched down pianos conjure up 25 years of rave heritage in one simple reverberated strike. Then, before nostalgia kicks in too much, in fires a scorching bassline that grizzles and kicks its way through the mix with uncompromising menace. If you thought the low-end growls of Frankee's previous release were stuff of legend, just wait until you hear this bass behemoth!
* 'Saffron' follows. Oozing low-end luxury and a swift, skippy riddim, it's an instant groove massage laced with floating vocal textures and emotive, ethereal pads. An instant hypnotiser, it instantly flies your floor to places they didn't even know existed. Paying respect to the expensive, aromatic delicacies of its namesake, 'Saffron' more than lives up to its name.
* Finally we hit 'Flintstone'. Concluding this epic tale with a wry grin, it's the perfect balance of deep, dark rollage and subtle humour. The overwhelmingly warm sub squiggles, icy pads and textured percussive dynamics make this track a must for all record boxes!

2013 is shaping up to be a fine vintage for Ram Records' DC Breaks. Having ignited the year with their cutlass-sharp 'Shaman/Let It Go' double A, the duo return to push us face-first into the summer with two more full-frontal underground bass workouts.

'Swag' leads. The audio equivalent of the filthiest, naughtiest swearword you could possibly mutter, it's an undiluted body-shock banger. Armed with a tearing bassline that refuses to sit still and discuss matters in a calm or sensitive manner, it's a passionately vitriolic voyage into the darkest corners of drum & bass. Yet another astonishing success for the Bristol/London duo; few production outfits can deliver something with such brutal body and terrorising texture while maintaining clarity and dynamics
like this.
Recovered yet Now jump on 'Proton' for another lesson in raw audio assaults. Living up to its positively charged title, the duo add a dash of euphoria to their strong-armed blend for yet another timeless example of D&B's powerful potency. Bolstered by bullet-proof bass; powered by pinch-punch drum work and sizzled by stark, sweeping stabs, 'Proton' rolls and rampages with pristine party-primed mischief.

DC Breaks are on fire right now!

The latest roller from Need for Mirrors erupts with midnight color. A deep, primal bassline lurches up, taking "Horus" alongside the
tattered landscape of some crumbling empty city. Need for Mirrors is joined on the A side by HLZ and Mikal, ensuring that the
listener's experience is at times quite dark, even while meaning to feel placid, frozen in motion at the breakdown: something
chromatic, a near-piano riff, glissandos into space. This is drum & bass.
Need for Mirrors continues with Mikal on "Solomon," keeping to the same sub-station wrecking standards, starting slowly with
slightly shuffled hats and a two-step break before voices shouting overtop of the quaking bottom-end remind us, or perhaps they
remind these artists, that everything can be made alright.

The second plate starts off with one of the fastest rising stars in the game, Cern! With his Kiss the Sky he shows what the Cern sound is all about. Shaking things up like turbulence, it could very well be that this production was responsible for the crash.

Next up it's the Canadian duo Psidream & Pacific who have been spotted with their track called Tanker. Feel the pressure of this production as your hear it guzzling more and more every second. Cause of the immense power this tune could easily take out an entire continent but thanks to The Black Box the damage has been sustained so a minimum amount of casualties.

Already heading towards the last slab of this indestructible container its time for Dose's Think Straight, a gem that'll keep all the record pilots on their toes. If you didn't know Dose yet then get acquainted. Like a lethal injection of barbiturate it takes you out in a matter of minutes, and that's just all it needs.

The final piece can be found on the last part of The Black Box. As Phace has remixed Cern's Smptm debut in true Germanfunk fashion. Phace shows that you can make a lot with little. With its interstellar sound and space age feel its no wonder that rapports say this production originally was responsible for space travel but for some reason has found its way into this box.

Following on from last year's 'Nebula Dance' album, Ital Tek comes with a 25 minute EP that frees itself from easy catagorisation. Of course the 160bpm cross-pollination of footwork and drum & bass is the jump off point, but 'Control' is sophisticated and dense sci-fi music that flexes your senses. 'Fireflies' opens proceedings with floaty but viciously warping choral tones over rough, rolling Apache drums. The title track, 'Control' with its punchy squashed kicks and rolling claps, swaps between Detroit chords and tough drum workouts. Next up, 'Zero' is a rich and cinematic ambient interlude whilst the final track on side A, 'Violet' is reminscent of Art of Noise's 'Moments in Love', but given a hi-gloss rerub, before the shortened notes of the melody break into strange glottal shapes, with drums striking strange patterns around them. 'Challenger Deep' opens side B with trancey spiralling synth arppegios that are almost too intense to take in, until soft chords and a steady drum form a cushion underneath, shaping the track into some intensely futuristic trap music. 'Ultra' is a synapse snapping 808 trap track with jittering double time drums rich chords and sci-fi bleeps. 'Jupiter Ascent' seems to update 4Hero at their most prog sounding, mixing in all manner of organ sounds, rolling toms and vocal noises with timestretched jungle breaks. Final track 'Doom/Dream' is a glistening virtual paradise, an uneasy ambient comedown from the rush that just preceeded it.

Fields is the only Utopia artist to have 2 solo vinyls, and now it is time for his third. Championed by the likes of Break, Calyx and
Goldie, 'On Your Own' is rugged yet snappy piece of bass music. Going for a wooden not plastic approach, it combines classic hip
hop vocals with new age bass work. The flip is the best stepper yet on Utopia and has the funk, which is hard for most 2 steppers.
The interchange of bass and mid tones creates an infectious groove perfect for the dancefloor. Supported by: Break, DLR, Doc

Deep drum and bass label Audio Plants Recordings presents: SND - Everlasting EP 12"

New light and magical sound from the Russian drum & bass producer SND. Three tracks created by mixing soulful drum and bass sound and a new sound called 170 bpm electronica. Three romantic stories that could be easily completed by the listener with his own emotional experience. This music is for the intelligent ones, who dare to stand out from the crowd.

* The second of this unmissable two-part EP release, here are four more examples of contemporary creativity that Andy's weaved into 'Nightlife 6' with razor-sharp exactitude.
* We launch with DC Breaks' 'Slugs'. A gigantic, guttural sonic slam-dunk, the swampy bass slithers and squirms throughout while a paranoid arpeggio adds a critical sense of drama over a heavyweight rhythm. It's been a massive year for DC Breaks and 'Slugs' shows just why.
Up next is another Ram native who's had an impeccable year. A quintessential screw-face roller, 'Portland' sees Rene LaVice celebrating everything we love about dark, dirty drum & bass. Unrelenting reload-ready bass tones laid gracefully over tight breakbeat: this is a future classic. No question.
* 'Nightfall' follows. Known for his sharp-tongued MC acuity, here Codebreaker reveals his stunning and soulful vocal skills. Complemented by Stealth's uncompromising, sheet metal riddim and iced-out mournful minor chords, there's an incredible sense of balance and head-turning contrast. Truly unique.
* Dose finalises this gargantuan two part EP series with the unruly romp 'Bounce Off'. Sprung with chop-slapping bass, mind-blowingly heavy kick drums and a hype-heaving MC vocal, this ferocious tear-up lives up to its name in every way: Dancefloor mayhem guaranteed... There is no better way to conclude one of Ram Records' biggest EP releases of 2013.
* Nightlife 6 EP Part II

* Pascal and DJ Hype drop another bomb from the sonic terrorist that is DJ Hazard. Hazard aka Scott Molloy destroyed the dancefloors and airwaves of the Midlands during the 90s; but when Hazard joined the Playaz camp things could only get dangerous and together they've let out some explosive anthems which have shaped the dnb genre.
* Fans who know Hazard's lethal heavy beats and powerful production won't be disappointed: 'Never the Same' is a monster of a track with a gorgeous female vocal whilst 'Air Guitar' swaggers in and picks up the skanking pace. We're guessing 'It's a Secret' with its 'It's a shame, shame, shame' lyric might be the culmination of what happens when you ask Hazard one too many times in a dark club what's in his set...Cheeky!
* Final track on the main EP is 'Do Without You' - again with a massive uplifting vocal - but there's also a bonus tune 'Watch Ya Teeth' which frankly would have got our vote for the Bond theme over Adele any day.
