After cooperating with other DJ's, Metacid decided to go back to basics. This 6th release is a true acid experience !!
On the a-side Expansion just keeps on banging your head with the two 8-steps 303 basslines !!! The clap cuts right trough and the wicked synth turns your head around.
This will certainly keep the dancefloor moving. There would be no Metacid release without a track fully packed with ACID. This track on the b-side alters different beautiful basslines and has a deeper and more progressive feel to it. SAUR is the last but certainly not the least track on this release. With the acoustic percussion and the strings this track tells a nice story and is perfect for the beginning of the evening.

After taking us on a hellish journey through the dark corners of the human psyche on their debut EP for the freshly minted Copicat Tracs, Watkins and Almadovar return with another set of nefariously charged tracks on ultra-black wax. We're still none the wiser as to who this diabolical duo are. In fact, it's more of a mystery than ever before. They're sound is one drenched in ethyl poisons, the result of a grim pact between two old shooting buddies to be executed before the final days of the alcoholacaust. One can only imagine this gnarled pair holed up in a lodge in a remote part of the Scottish Highlands, twisted spines hunched over machines inscribed with words written in an ancient and forgotten tongue, the smell of whisky so strong it closes the throat. This new trip sees Watkins & Almadovar in a somewhat reflective mood: whether they're reflecting on an old encounter with an African Death Cult, or a visit to Boleskine House to uncover the lost writings of Crowley is anyone's guess...
Side A is a jacking, industrial burner, and if Rock N Roll is indeed the music of the Devil, lord knows who this crust belongs to. The brooding chords of the first chapter make another appearance here, underpinned by a maddening rhythm culled from the cogs of a real horse rotorvator. Side B gives us a slice of ye olde Black Bleep and traditional Samhain Acid. Funk for cunts that operates between the physical via ritualistic body popping and the third mind. What would shed further light on the meaning or origin of all this bad vibin' would be the fact that all of these tracks share the name of "Darvaza". Budding geographers out there will know Darvaza as the colossal natural gas field in Turkmenistan which is also known as the "Door to Hell". While Soviet petrochemical scientists were drilling for gas there in 1971, a large area of ground collapsed beneath the drilling rig. Hazardous gases were released as a result, and to put a lid on the problem, the scientists decided to burn it all off by igniting the gas, expecting it to burn off within days. To this very day the Door to Hell is still wreathed in flame. "The pungent smell of burning sulfur pervades the area for some distance". Aye, sounds about right

Of course the Acid Rebirth is the masterpiece here, in a sense. A bloody good reprise, totally replayed with hardware of the rebirth from jones and Stenfenson on bonzai... finishing on a big frustration : still some work for the DJ ! But also with the Interstellar Delivery, Mr Gasmask brings a superb Techno Trance tune... At least AFX fans will enjoy the last tune, the Arboria Tribute : A superb acid broken stuff, in the pure oldschool tradition of this owesome style.

The debut release 'Skywarp EP' features three dark, pumping acid trax that tick all the right boxes. This is not so much acid techno, although many who play this genre will definitely appreciate this release, but a purer, deeper squelching of the silver box over solid percussion that will move the mind as much as the dancefloor.
The 303 for dance music has often been compared to the guitar of rock, it's a classic sound that never loses its appeal and this release is a perfect example of this.

De:tuned is the new label of DJs, record collectors and party promoters Bonny (Ruben Boons) and Konnekt (Bert Hermans). The label is an extension of the De:tuned parties which they have been organising since 2009 in and around Antwerp (Belgium). De:tuned stands for proper old school club music, whether it's techno, acid, rave, house.. De:tuned is about quality music in general. Previous guests at the De:tuned events include Ben Sims, Dave Angel, Mike Dred, Robert Leiner, CJ Bolland and Frank De Wulf to name but a few.
The label will focus on releasing hidden and unreleased gems from the past as well as new music with a genuine old school feel.
The first release comes from Robert Leiner (The Source Experience). Robert Leiner made a name for himself in the early nineties while working as a studio engineer & producer for the well-known Belgian R&S label.
De:tuned is very proud and honoured to present 3 unreleased tracks from Robert to kick start the label. All 3 tracks were recorded during various studio sessions between 1991 and 1993. This first release is pressed on strictly limited blue heavyweight vinyl.
The EP opens with the beautiful 'Sky Surfer'. Cleverly programmed 808 and 909 drum patterns and 303 acid lines set the tone. Female vocal snippets and uplifting synth pads come in and out of the track to enhance the druggy, euphoric warehouse feeling.
'Infiltrator' is a more straight forward track with a slightly bigger sound. The track drives and drives before it breaks down in a heavenly intermezzo, only to continue its nervous and relentless pace.
The B-side 'Trance Antwerp Express' takes you on a 13 minute trip to the far edges of the universe. A pulsating, hypnotic bass line swirls and twists throughout the track, accompanied by eerie background sounds and effects that creep up and take hold of you. Once again Robert skilfully programmed the 808 and 909 drum computers to great effect. This track may need some time to sink in, but once you get in it, there is no getting out!
It has always been there, you just have to discover it.. stay tuned!
