* Conceived in 2011 by singer/guitarist Dave Wheeler, bassist Jim Wilson (both formerly of international touring act Carousel on TeePee Records), and drummer Panfilo Dicenzo, Pittsburgh hard rock mainstays Outsideinside are set to release their first full length LP, Sniff a Hot Rock, on September 29 2017. The album will be released by Machine Age Records in the USA and Sixteentimes Music in Europe. Recorded by the original trio, the album's 8 tracks put the band's swinging musicianship, funky backbeat, and melodic songwriting on full display.
* The band, now augmented by James Hart (x-Harlan Twins) on guitar and keyboard, originally united over their love of soulful rock acts such as Free, Spooky Tooth, ZZ Top, Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, and Humble Pie and have incorporated elements of their influences into their songwriting and performances. Since their formation, Outsideinside has shared the stage with many renowned acts including Kadavar, Horisont, The Well, The Dirty Streets, Valkyrie, Mount Carmel, The Shrine, Joy, Slow Season, Spacin', King Buffalo and The Golden Grass. With Sniff a Hot Rock under its belt, Outsideinside will look forward to its future and the touring and recording opportunities that lie ahead.

One Way... Or Another was the second studio outing to feature the supergroup Cactus. Existing of Vanilla Fudge rhythm section Carmine Appice (drums) and Tim Bogert (bass), as well as former Amboy Dukes lead vocalist Rusty Day (vocals/mouth harp), and Jim McCarty (guitar) from Mitch Ryder & the Detroit Wheels and the Buddy Miles Express.

The album offers eight tracks of which are six originals and two covers. Kicking off with one from the latter column, it's the unexpected slow and heavy take on Little Richard's Long Tall Sally.' The other cover, a version of Chuck Willis' Feel So Bad,' is more than serviceable but it's really the originals that are the stars of this show. Highlights are including Rock N' Roll Children,' Big Mama Boogie - Parts I & II,' and the title track, which closes the album in suitably kick-ass fashion.

This album is well crafted and flows dramatically from one song
to the other without a dull moment. Anyone with a liking for early
70's blues oriented rock will love this album.

He learnt to play the piano and harmonica as a child and then took up the classical guitar at the age of 12. As a teenager he was strongly influenced by the folk guitar player Steve Benbow, who had travelled widely and played a guitar style influenced by Moroccan music. Graham was one of the most influential figures in the 1960s British Folk Revival. He inspired many famous practitioners of the fingerstyle acoustic guitar such as Bert Jansch, Martin Carthy, Paul Simon, John Martyn and indeed Jimmy Page. Graham is probably best known for his acoustic instrumental Anji and for popularizing DADGAD tuning, later widely adopted by many acoustic guitarists. Not one to be categorised Graham could be seen as a true World music artist covering the genres of folk, blues and jazz.

Captain Beefheart's debut album, originally released in 1967, is the most accessible and pop-inflected from his entire catalogue. Still, Safe As Milk is a very strong and heavily blues-influenced work but it also hints on many of the features that would later become the trademarks of Captain Beefheart.

A nice fact is that not only did a 20-year old Ry Cooder play bass & guitar on Abba Zaba' and Grown So Ugly', he also arranged the latter as well as Sure 'Nuff 'N Yes I Do'. Also, Cooder's role in the recording process was 'to translate the Captain's wilder notions to the rest of the band and generally acts as musical director'. With him as a supervisor, the sessions proceeded more or less smoothly and Safe As Milk was recorded within a month.

Fun fact, the album appears in the 2000 film High Fidelity as an album that the character Barry, played by Jack Black, continually refuses to sell to a customer, whom he deems unsuitable to own it.

The 7 bonus tracks are taken from the sessions for the unreleased 'Brown Wrapper' follow-up album. These tracks had been recorded around November 1967, two months after the release of Safe as Milk's and were from the same sessions that yielded the songs on Mirror Man Sessions (MOVLP260). The 50th Anniversary edition of Safe As Milk is pressed on Milky White vinyl. Only 1.500 individually numbered copies are available.

Son of Dave, the one and only harmonica and beatbox blues maverick is back for another season. 'Music For Cop Shows' is classic S.o.D,, loaded with instrumental hooks, original blues favoured songs, irresistble grooves and sly madness. His music has appeared in Breaking Bad, Bloodline, Preacher and other television crime dramas, which seems to have encouraged him to put the cart before the horse and create a loose cannon of dites harking back to 1970's cop shows. Or not. It's typical Son of Dave messing with you, using ingredients only he can cook with. Fans know it well. It's his eighth album, and he's not made a weak one yet.
Recorded in London at Space Eko East Studios with long-tme co-producer Alex McGowan the songs build upon S.o.D.'s usual beatbox and bass grooves layering up harmonica rifs just like in the live show. Some tunes go a bit further and S.o.D.
plays keys, guitars, and all sorts of percussion. It's all played and sung by the man himself, with Blues Organ' and Hey Aye' the only exceptons, being recorded with super-producer Jimmy Hogarth, with whom he made the album 'Blues At The Grand' a few years back.
Son of Dave is ffy years old, and has lived for twenty one years in the UK, hailing originally from Winnipeg Canada where he was steeped at a young age in the bluesbar traditon. His resumé is long, having had many other successes along the way.
He plans to perform untl his 80's at least, pointng out that there is no pension plan for Bluesmen, and the whole live-fast-die-young game is for kids who can't handle their booze, or their managers simply afer publicity..

Two completely unissued belters from one of our favourite female R&B vocalists, Camille Howard. Recorded for Federal but never seeing the light of day until now, both 'Rock With Me' and 'Nasty Man' are superb mid-tempo R&B stompers, with Howard in full voice channelling her best blues shouter persona before giving way to greasy sax breaks at the mid-sections. Mastered from the original 1953 tapes, get this limited, fully licensed release while you can, these tracks are unlikely to see a vinyl release again any time soon.
