Both known for giving the opportunity to French emerging talents to rise, Inrocks Lab and Because Music decided to work together in order to create a necessary take off platform highlighting those artists coming from the online and live scenes. This association aims to release every year a compilation of young artists who represent the future of the french indie-electro scene : The Inrocks Lab Compilation. Signed on record labels since their participation to this compilation, Christine and The Queens (Because), Granville (Eastwest), TotalWarr (Savoir Faire) and Owlle (Sony) are the perfect examples of how efficient this lab is as they are currently in studio, preparing their first album. An artist usually chooses his (her) name to create an alter ego. This time, it's a little different as from one, the artist became five. But Christine And The Queens is indeed a solo artist. Opposite emotions, self-contradictory statements, eclecticism, all things that were roughed out on her two rather confidential first EPs, are confirmed on the one she's about to release on Because Music. Entitled 'Nuit 17 à 52, it extends the fantasy about metamorphosis and its consequences. The smart ravings of voguing can be found in her screams during 'The Loving Cup": 'Now, walk!' Dance to make sure we're alive, believe in our own lies, and share the glorious fraud, drinking from the same glass. 'The Loving Cup' is also a reference to 'Freaks", Christine's favourite film, and its famous scene. Then, right after enthusiasm, comes doubt: 'Starshipper' is a monstrous song, between major chords and minor split, introspective French and lyrical English, about some undecided identity, half-dreamt half-experienced. 'Nuit 17 à 52, title-song of the EP, is also the most piercing. This time, Christine doesn't change, and someone else goes away. Once the person's gone, the memory is distorted: She reinvents 'Photos Souvenirs", the William Sheller's song, with a feverish flow that transforms the original melancholia into an unknown rage. Chantier des Francos, and toured France thanks to Les Femmes S'en Mêlent festival in March 2012. She also won the revelation prize of the Printemps de Bourges in 2012, and the Adami Premières Francos prize during the Francofolies de La Rochelle. In 2013, she was one of the prizewinners of the FAIR and was selected for the compilation 'Les Inrocks Lab". Her new EP will be out on Because Music on June 3rd 2013.

Comelade's world is atypical and his inspirations come from many different sources, from contemporary music to the Cramps, and make him one of the most creative and original artists of our times. At the crossroads of many different arts, never where he's expected, he never ceases to surprise his audience, taking the listener on poetic paths of primitive perception. EL PIANISTA DEL ANTIFAZ is the latest album in Comelade's galaxy. The artwork was designed by Dutch illustrator JOOST SWART.

Launched in 2006 by Nicolas Devos and Penelope Michel, along with their project Cercueil (responsible for three albums particularly
noteworthy), Puce Moment has so far existed mainly on stage, diluted over time (with only a handful of concerts) and imagery
(projections, performances or contemporary dance pieces). Ice, dust and blinding flashes of white light: Puce Moment had the scene,
only the soul and backbone were missing. This is being achieved now: Isolated in a cabin, the duo composed and recorded nine
songs that make up their first album, between spectral marauding (Moonoom) and drone wizards (Legacy), resurrecting old ghosts
(Video Dada single title survivor of their invisible past), revealing the first images of a future draped in chrome (L'ombre, composed
for choreographer Christian Rizzo's new project).

Mastered by Joe Lambert (Animal Collective, Young Magic, Dirty Projectors), Puce Moment is both the sum of a singular journey,
fuelled by forays into dance and cinema.

Recording artists Jimi Tenor & Nicole Willis who are life partners as well as past collaborators, reunite for their new project, artist name Cola&Jimmu, 'Cola", a kind of pseudonym of Nicole and 'Jimmu", associated with the legend of the first emperor of Japan, Jimnu Tenno. Both Tenor and Willis have fronted their own projects over the past decade, Willis most recently working with Helsinki - based group the Soul Investigators, for their albums Tortured Soul & Keep Reachin' Up, Timmion Records 2005, 2013. The Helsinki Sanomat recently called Willis & the Soul Investigators 'the world's best on the stage of Tavastia". The title track of Keep Reachin' Up was chosen in February 2012 for POTUS, Barack Obama's Re - Election Spotify Playlist. Tenor also contributed horn arrangements to the 2 albums in the collaborative effort of Willis & the Soul Investigators. Tenor & Willis also wrote and recorded tracks from release of Tenor's Call Of The Wild, from the LP Out Of Nowhere, Warp Records 2000. As of late, Jimi Tenor collaborated with Tony Allen for their LP on Strut Records 2009, Inspiration Information, eclectic 'outsider' Itetune on Temmi Kongi 2011, with Abdissa Assefa, & the self titled Soft Focus with Lary 7 on Tommi Grönlund's Puu/Sähko Recordings 2013. Willis & Tenor have roots in dance - floor music with there separate success' such as Tenor's techno classic Take Me Baby, & Willis' neo - soul New York based project Repercussions, Promise Me Nothing which peaked at # 6 on Hot Dance Music, Club Play chart of Billboard Magazine, with remixes from Master's At Work and Supa DJ Dmitry. Cola&Jimmu revisit 1990 house, which bares so many monikers. Cola & Jimmu title it 'deep house revival", drawing influences from Bobby Konders releases on NuGroove to Yellow Magic Orchestra's Firecracker, with vocal styles comparable to Gwen Guthrie & CeCe Peniston.

»Aquarium Eyes« ist das zweite Album des österreichischen Duos Ritornell. Ihr Erstling »Golden Solitude« erschien 2009 ebenfalls auf Karaoke Kalk. Akustische und elektronische Klänge verschmelzen auf »Aquarium Eyes«. Aufnahmen, die mit viel Liebe zum Detail (unter anderem im Studio von Patrick Pulsinger) entstanden sind, werden behutsam in den Ritornell-Klangkosmos eingewoben. Durch subtile elektronische Verfremdungen entwickeln Instrumente wie Klavier, Kontrabass, Vibrafon, Kalimba und Akkordeon ein überraschendes Eigenleben, um sich Momente später im Zischen und Fauchen elektronischer Gerätschaften aufzulösen. Unterdessen werden sie umspielt vom Funkeln mehrschichtiger elektro-akustischer Drones. Einzelne organische Geräusche und sublime Texturen komplettieren die detaillierten Arrangements. Für »Aquarium Eyes« hat Ritornell erstmals Songs geschrieben: Die Wiener Künstlerin Mimu singt, flüstert und haucht rote Fäden durch manche der fragilen Klangkonstrukte, die Gerold und Eigner mit Fingerspitzengefühl zusammengesetzt haben. Für das Stück »Tremble« hat sich das Duo mit dem Vokal-Künstler Didi Bruckmayr zusammengetan. Der Track »Music Box« ist ein Konzeptstück: Dirigiert von Richard Eigner drehen 20 Personen gleichzeitig an ihren Spieluhren. Aus den Melodien der Musikgeschichte wird dabei ein funkelndes Gewirr. Mit »In Every Dream Home A ÊHeartache« hat sich Ritornell schließlich auch an eine Roxy Music Coverversion gewagt, wobei an die Stelle der Gitarren ein Streichertrio getreten ist. Live präsentieren Richard Eigner und Roman Gerold ihre Musik zusammen mit Mimu und Gerhard Daurer, gelegentlich auch verstärkt von Bernd Klug am Kontrabass und Meaghan Burke am Cello.

Having first hit the scene 15 years ago with 'Night over Manaus', Boozoo Bajou have since gone on to release 3 critically acclaimed albums on !K7 and Stereo Deluxe, working with the likes of legendary drummer Tony Allen and soul legend Willie Hutch and remixing Common and Tosca along the way. Stepping up for their debut release on Apollo Records, the Nuremberg duo of Peter Heider and Florian Seyberth have put together a stunning four track EP that draws on their considerable history while simultaneously moving their sound forward.
Kodiak kicks off with an incessant pulse, offset with ride cymbals and complex jazz percussion patterns that sound half junk yard, half mad max. The underlying pulse grows in intensity until a breakbeat kicks in half way through and pushes the track deep into funk territory. Stronsay, which comes on like a piece of mid 70s sci-fi soul - yearning pads underpinning an overdriven beat to fantastic effect. Most ambient of all the tracks on display is Stufen-Spitzbergen, which marries a menacing synth bass to a funeral march beat with the result an epic filmic piece of music that transports the listener into the richly imagined world that Boozoo Bajou inhabit.
The EP is perfectly placed on Apollo - ambient, but with an edge that ensures the music remains vital, forward thinking and upholds the high water mark with which the label is synonymous.

Mit "Fire In My Hands" meldet sich McCleery zurück und kollaboriert mit dem Produzent Royce Wood Junior. Zusammen liefern sie uns zwei zeitlose Songs zwischen Soul, Blues und Electronic! Midnight Juggernauts have forged a unique path, refusing to be bound by boundaries of genre, convention, or expectation. The band are now on the verge of releasing a new anticipated album, Uncanny Valley, out on June 17th, their first output for 3 years following their previous albums Dystopia and The Crystal Axis. This EP is the first taste of their new material, which sounds uniquely Midnight Juggernauts. Situated at a self-styled nexus between genre and era, their new output may be described as warm-hearted cold wave, interstellar harmony's, early 1950's house, steeped in the darkness of dusty Giallo soundtracks, audio spomeniks at once futuristic and rustic, a bold musical future envisaged through a soundtrack to a forgotten Eastern Bloc Tarkovsky film, sifting through the ruins of LPs past.

Die in Grenoble geborene Caroline Hervé alias Miss Kittin gehört seit Jahren zu den bekanntesten Künstlerinnen der elektronischen Musik. Zusammen mit ihrem Produktionspartner The Hacker wurde sie mit Tracks wie "1982" und "Frank Sinatra" weltbekannt, Kooperationen mit Felix Da Housecat, Sven Väth ("Je t'aime moi non plus"), Steve Bug und T.Raumschmiere machten sie zur gefragtesten DJane und Produzentin der Techno-Szene. Ihr drittes Soloalbum - nach "I Com" (2004) und "Batbox" (2007) - heißt "Calling From The Stars". Das Doppelalbum spricht sowohl den technoaffinen Hörer als auch den Indie-Pop-Fan an und teilt sich in eine poporientierte Platte und eine zweite, die eher von Ambient beeinflusst ist. Insgesamt wird Miss Kittin damit sowohl alte Fans als auch neue Hörer ansprechen. Dafür sprechen auch die potenziellen Singleauskopplungen: "Bassline" folgt einem Talk-Talk-Klavierlauf, der auf eine Depeche-Mode-Basslinie trifft, und so das Zeug zum Indie-Hit hat. One of the most interesting artists in the field of music releases his long-awaited debut March 11th 2013. Its titel 'Times' is appropriately chosen, though indeed it seems to be timeless. David August has waited quite a long time, cancelling all gigs for a year to fulfill himself in his musical yearnings in a very personal album. It is an intimate production, realising his fanatic dedication, of which love in all its facettes is the main motive. The listener will find his own emotional journey in it, starting with 'Help me Through", a journey leading to David August's world and soul. It is a defined and compelling universe, offering quite a musical spectrum. The producer who has been trained in classical piano - he studies 'Tonmeister' in Berlin at the moment - uses classical instruments of course, f.i. Clarinette in 'Hommage' - a logical step, it seems. There is a widespread thought of crossover throughout the 14 tracks without being eclectic - the native of Hamburg has a very precise idea of a sound even apart from being played on the dancefloor. 'Times' creates a warm and somewhat organic atmosphere, never dull or with cheap effects, and always to the point. One shivers listening to 'Blossom' with its piano parts, 'Watch your step' is an example of a groove-giant, 'Until We shine' is a fascinating vocal duet and 'Forgive me if I bleed' an epic Electronica-outro. The artist´s voice is an instrument, too, perfectly suited to the overwhelmingly refined song sound structures. 'Times' is to be explored again and again, functioning on all levels, be it on the dancefloor, the living room or on earphones.

Music Is Dead is the new solo project by French producer Olaf Hund. Juggling absurdity, cynicism and intimacy, Hund wakes the dead, singing a post-punk score for guitar and electronic instruments bringing a new breath to Electro-Pop music. With the memories of a boy from the old school who saw the end of the golden age, Olaf Hund defines himself as a Post-Electronic artist.

Olaf Hund is a writer-composer and multidisciplinary performer. He made his name as an Electro musician in 1999 at the beginning of the French Touch movement. Mixing humor and sadness, he created unclassifiable musical universes and represented the 'Anti-French-Touch'. He went on to develop Musiques Hybrides, his own label with Virgin France. Composing for the Cirque Comtemporain (Philippe Découflé), independent movies (Laurent Hart, Fabianny Deschamps), haute-couture (Jean-Paul Gaultier), collaborating with or producing headline musicians at the start of their careers (Musiques Hybrides's Artists, Gonzales, Peaches, Puppet Mastaz, Taraf de Haïdouk...), he also formed a multidisciplinary collective (FreeComplex) and created the project and character Nicolas Police.

Phosphor were formed in London in 2011, originally consisting of Nathalie Bruno on vocals and synth, Jake Ambridge on guitar,
the duo then later teamed up with Hélène de Thoury who now is on synth and backing vocals. Heavily influenced by the likes of
Depeche Mode, Sixth June, Fever Ray, HTRK, Linear Movement, Slowdive and Cocteau Twins, PHOSPHOR have written and
produced three EPs in the past few years. Self releasing- 'Blossom/Cold Hearted', a broody, shoe-gaze soaked EP produced by
Ryan Ambridge, 'To Never Love Again', self produced and reminiscent of Siouxsie & the Banshees and Cocteau Twins, and 'FEAR',
which was voted one of the top 20 EPs of 2012 by Burning Flame. Alongside the EP's, PHOSPHOR have also produced two slow and
haunting singles - 'Numb' and 'Influx'. Their debut album 'Youth And Immortality', released by Desire, was inspired by the confusion
and desolation of living in the city, constant battles with the troubled mind and an obsession with beautifully dark sounding music.

26 year old Julien Perez was the former frontman of French band Adam Kesher (2007 - 2011). He writes and sings now in French. His songs are urban, ethereal, nocturnal soundscapes, infused with a sweaty « variété » touch. The way he builds his tracks is tense and sensual, reminding of Christophe and La Perversita lyrics, as much as of Border Community label and Invisible Conga People productions. Perez will release his first EP in February 2013 on Dirty. It has been produced by Pilooski (Discodeine, Tristesse Contemporaine), already supported by Laurent Garnier and Tim Sweeney.

RBM followers have long known Spinnerty for his production work behind vocalist like Joy Jones, Miles Bonny, John Robinson and Replife. This time we find Spinnerty collaborating with Chicago-based drummer Farsheed Toosi to create lush jazzy instrumentals that stand alone as full compositions. They mark a giant step forward in Spinnerty's maturity as a producer and jazzer, letting the instrumentation do the talking. While Spinnerty's original versions work well for home-listening, radio, and loungey dj sets - Uptempo remixes by J Boogie, lil' dave, and Mecca:83 provide some excellent choices for the dancefloor. As a special treat for the vinyl-faithful, we have included "Drumapella" versions available only on the wax itself - original drum breaks courtesy of Spinnerty and Tossi.

Nach "Die Frau in der Musik" folgt nun die zweite Single aus "Cactus vs. Brezel". Wobei: Beide Songs wurden neu aufgenommen, und es sind also vollkommen unterschiedliche Versionen als auf dem Album. Das gilt auch für die B-Seite "Pixelize Me". Limitiert auf 500 Stück weltweit!

Orre releases a 12inch mini-album by the inimitable Avrocar. Cited by Radiohead as a prime influence on their Kid A album, they also did an acclaimed session for the radio show of the late John Peel. The eight songs here are improvised sketches, referencing the psychedelic side of krautrock, harmonious Sixties pop and lethargic post-punk. Combined with a modern feel of rhythmic progression and production, Avrocar effortlessly comes up with songs that are moody, but yet fit many moods. Without pretension, straight to your heart and mind, Avrocar is a band to be cherished. Recommended!!

Fantastic and long out of print solo project of Dorothea Raukes. Dorothea is the ex-singer in of the famous German progressive, Krautrock band Streetmark (founded 1968 in Düsseldorf and released 4 albums between 1976-1981). Dorothea Raukes was one of the few female characters of German progressive rock scene. LP was previously released by Sky Records in 1981. The LP is instrumental and reminiscent of a style similar to other classic late 1970's synth pioneers (Cluster, Tangerine Dream, Wolfgang Riechmann, etc.).

The sound of Spacemen 3 and Mazzy Star being thrown into the most tranquil ocean leaving the listener pining for the inevitable beautiful songs to emerge from below.' This is Low Sea and their album that they appropriately describe as Grey Disco. It is synth pop of a very European nature, shot through with a bolt of blue.

*The duo, Bosnian-born Billie and Bobby D from Liverpool first met while living in the United States. Billie had spent her early years in Bosnia until the war broke out in Former Yugoslavia, during which she fled to live in San Francisco (and was initially unwillingly part of a cult). In stark contrast Bobby took a more insular route to their path, one involving an endless headphone cycle of A-ha, Cocteau Twins, 808 State and My Bloody Valentine.

*Having released a mini album on US based Lefse Records (How To Dress Well, Neon Indian) they conspired with Dell'Orso records with a view to releasing a narcotic pop album having bonded over a love for AR Kane, New Order and Lali Puna.

*Much of the album was recorded and self produced in their current residence, a cottage, overlooking the light house and harbour in an isolated fishing village on the Irish coast. However Low Sea had to pinch themselves when the legendary Stephen Hague (Pet Shop Boys, New Order, PIL) agreed to mix some of the tracks on the album, including the title track, Remote Viewing (which is also the lead single). You can understand why Stephen Hague was interested though. Like many of his records, Low Sea's music is insular euphoria, one born out of 4AM
cigarettes, nostalgia for the future and a melancholic happiness.

*Low Sea's music has been described as like "Julee Cruise on sedatives" and this is certainly true of the album's centre point 'Acid Ocean', an extraordinary torch song as forlorn as Kim Novak dropping into the Bay. Elsewhere Sentimental Games sounds like Altered Images on board the Trans European Express whilst the seasick lo-nrg of Breathing In Too Fast is like the orphan child of Vivien Goldman and Joy Division.
