Second Release Single of the new album 'Love Letters' incl. remix by (Jacques Lu Cont Remix.

2007 Klaxons did what pretty much no band have done since: arrive with a fully fledged ideology - new rave. It might be hard to remember now, but back then it was strange seeing a high street normally shifting outfits in various hews of bland flooded with weird neon clothing. On 16th June 2014, Love Frequency, Klaxons' third album drops. While their second record was perceived as a rejection of their dance influenced past, this is a return to it. Once again they've leapt to the front of a queue of none as the only group of people blending the euphoria of today's dance scene with the aesthetics, experimentation and instrumentation of post-punk.

Nancy is a Small provincial town in the East of France. But its musical scene has always been fertile. In the early 70s, Gérard N'Guyen started the influential French fanzine Atem to write about improv, electronic, komische, kraut and prog rock bands that you couldn't find in the local record stores. He started to produce bands for the Atem label like Univers-Zéro, Art Zoyd and Présent. He discovered, produced and managed French synth gods Kas Product.

But tired to deal with major companies A&R guys he set up his own independent label called Les Disques du Soleil et de l'Acier (Coil, Sprung Aus Den Wolken, Pascal Comelade). The second release of the label was oTo's 'Anyway' single that found its way to the dancefloors all over the world. From New York to Antwerp and Berlin, 'Anyway' was a floor-filler that was played by rock, EBM or hip-hop DJs.

2014 marks its thirtieth anniversary and desire is proud to reissue it (in collaboration with Mitzvah Records). It will be followed by the reissue of the sole oTo album 'Purge An Urge' and a compilation of rare oTo demo and unreleased tracks.

I am O.K. - so heißt das neue Album des Berliner Ausnahmeproduzenten, DJ und Labelbetreiber Oliver Koletzki.

Die Zweideutigkeit des Titels ist natürlich bewusst gewählt: hinter der humorvollen Fassade des von Chrisse Kunst gezeichneten Covers, das den dreizehnjährigen Oliver samt Nerdbrille und Ringelpulli ungeschönt darstellt, verbirgt sich eine tiefere Aussage: ich bin Oliver Koletzki, unbearbeitet und authentisch. Denn mit dem nunmehr fünften Studioalbum orientiert sich Oliver Koletzki musikalisch an der unbeeinflussten Jungfräulichkeit von damals und kehrt ganz bewusst zu seinen Wurzeln zurück.

Damals fängt alles mit einem alten C64 und den eigenen Hip Hop Beats an. Bald schon entdeckt Oliver Koletzki seine Liebe für elektronische Sounds, die er auf dem ersten Atari ST Computer produziert. Mit 18 beginnt er im heimatlichen Braunschweig aufzulegen und wird zu einem oft gebuchten DJ der lokalen Szene, bis er 2000 beschließt nach Berlin zu ziehen, um die Passion zum Beruf zu machen - und nicht zuletzt um am exzessiven Nachtleben der Stadt teilzuhaben. Alle Anfänge sind schwer und so lässt der Durchbruch einige Jahre auf sich warten. 2005 fällt dem Superstar-DJ Seven Väth dann eine selbstgepresste Whitelabel-Vinyl in die Hände: es handelt sich um 'Der Mückenschwarm' von Oliver Koletzki. Überzeugt vom unglaublichen Potential des Tracks entscheidet sich Väth für einen offiziellen Release auf Cocoon.

Die Resonanz der Kritiker und Käufer ist eindeutig, Oliver Koletzki ist das Newcomertalent der Stunde. Neben europaweiten Gigs in renommierten Clubs und einer Residency in der legendären Bar 25, ist es die Veröffentlichung von Get Wasted, dem ersten Album, die Oliver Koletzkis Position in der Szene zementiert. Der bereits beachtliche DJ-Kalender füllt sich nun zusätzlich mit Liveauftritten, ob mit Fran zusammen oder als The Koletzkis, Olivers fünfköpfiger Band, mit der er seine musikalischen Tracks originalgetreu performen kann. Die nächsten Jahre führen Oliver Koletzki in 211 Städte in 39 Ländern. Neben exotischen Gigs beim Thaibreak, dem Rainbow Serpent Festival in Australien oder dem D-Edge in Basilien, spielt er mittlerweile auf wichtigen Festivals wie der 'Timewarp", dem Rock am Ring, ADE oder MELT. 2012 geht es dann zurück ins Studio: ‚Großstadtmärchen 2' knüpft nahtlos an das Konzept und den Erfolg des Vorgängers an. Mit Oliver Koletzkis Erfolg wächst auch sein 2006 gegründetes Label Stil vor Talent. Was ursprünglich als Plattform für die eigenen Produktionen gedacht war, erweist sich schon bald als Sprungbrett für junge Nachwuchstalente. So haben es Acts wie H.O.S.H., David August, Sascha Braemer, Niconé, HVOB, Kellerkind oder Niko Schwind geschafft, dank frühzeitiger Releases auf Stil vor Talent in der Szene Fuß zu fassen. Für Oliver geht ein Traum in Erfüllung: seine Ausdauer und Zielstrebigkeit wird zum Vorbild anderer. Während Stil vor Talent über acht Jahre und 120 Releases vom kleinen DIYLabel zum großen Indie heranwächst, beweist Oliver Koletzki immer wieder sein Gespür für den nächsten Trend, bleibt seiner Vorliebe für melodische, emotionale Housemusik jedoch treu. Tracks wie Caje von Niconé & Sascha Braemer, Backflash von Kellerkind oder Dogs von Hvob schlangen Wellen und bestätigen Oliver in der A&R-Rolle.

In 2012 agiert Stil vor Talent bereits seit geraumer Zeit als Label, Booking- und Managementagentur, sowie als Modelabel mit mehreren Mitarbeitern. Oliver Koletzki wagt den nächsten Schritt und gründet Light My Fire, ein Zweitlabel, das sich wieder ganz der Tanzfläche widmet. Im Vergleich zu SVT steht hier die EP im Fokus - eine gute Entscheidung, denn 'Mama Say', Bring Me Home und People erfreuen sich beachtlicher Szeneresonanz. Ende des letzten Jahres erscheint die erste Light my Fire Compilation, 'The Future of House', die Weichen für die Zukunft sind also gestellt.

I am O.K. - mir geht's ganz gut, sagt Oliver Koletzki bescheiden. 2014, nach 26 Jahren als Musiker, ist er zweifellos dort angekommen, wo er hinwollte. Im Frühjahr erscheint das neue Album, es geht auf USA Tour, danach folgt der Umzug mit Studio und Büro auf den Berliner Holzmarkt. Eigentlich könnte sich Oliver ausruhen. Dass dies so bald nicht geschehen wird, beweist die Energie jedes einzelnen neuen Tracks: Oliver Koletzki legt gerade erst richtig los.

Für Elly Jackson fühlte sich gleich alles richtig an, als sie sich der Welt als La Roux präsentierte. Das auffällige rote Haar. Das androgyne Image. Die sehnsuchtsvollen und dennoch wütenden Songs über verlorene und gefundene Liebe. Die eingängigen Pop-Hooks, eingebettet in skurrile Melodien, die der NME schon früh treffend als eine Mischung aus Bowie zu - Let's Dance'-Zeiten und dem ausgefallenen Electro-Pop von The Knife bezeichnete. Es war die perfekte Popsensation, ihre erste Single - In For The Kill' erreichte in den britischen Charts Platz 2, der Nachfolger - Bulletproof' Platz 1.

Der Erfolg stellte sich vielleicht über Nacht ein, aber auch der Sound von La Roux musste sich erst einmal entwickeln. Für Elly war die Musik schon immer eine Zuflucht, eine Möglichkeit, sich auszudrücken. Mit 13 begann sie, beeinflusst von Künstlern, die ihre Eltern hörten, darunter Joni Mitchell und Nick Drake, eigene Songs auf der Gitarre zu komponieren. Eine eigene Identität fand Sie jedoch erst mit 17, als sie Clubs, Tanzen und die endlosen Möglichkeiten elektronischer Musik entdeckte.

Die Welt war bereit für diesen Sound. Insgesamt hat La Roux weltweit mehr als 6 Millionen Singles verkauft, das gleichnamige Debütalbum ging 2 Millionen Mal über die Ladentische. Die Einzige, die das alles zu überraschen schien, war Elly selbst.

- Darauf war ich nicht vorbereitet', lacht sie. - Ich war 21 und habe noch bei meinen Eltern gewohnt! Die Platte sollte kalt und hart, irgendwie brüchig und billig klingen. Und das kam mir einfach nicht sonderlich kommerziell vor.'

Das Album wurde ein Jahr später in den USA veröffentlicht und erhielt einen Grammy als bestes Electronic-/Dance-Album des Jahres 2011. Daraufhin ging Elly auf Tour und verbrachte nahezu zwei Jahre ununterbrochen mit Konzerten und Promotion. Danach musste sie sich eine Auszeit nehmen und lernen, besser auf sich achtzugeben. - Das Touren hat mir wirklich Spaß gemacht', meint sie. - Aber es geht alles so schnell, man wird einfach mitgerissen und hat gar keine Zeit, das alles zu verarbeiten. Und dann holt es einen ein.'

Deshalb hat sie sich mit dem neuen Album Zeit gelassen. - Ich wollte, dass es noch besonderer wird, ich wollte noch eine Stufe weiter nach oben', erklärt sie. - Außerdem wollte ich, wie schon auf der ersten Platte, eigentlich alles selber spielen. Aber diesmal war die Instrumentierung komplizierter und da hat es eine Weile gedauert, bis ich alles draufhatte.'

Während der Arbeit am Album wurde Elly klar, dass sie sich musikalisch in eine andere Richtung entwickelte als Ben Langmaid, der schon beim Vorgänger mit von der Partie gewesen war. Zum Schreiben und Aufnehmen suchten sie eine Scheune in Devon auf, aber Elly gefiel nicht, was dabei herauskam. Letztlich entschied sie, dass der Tontechniker des Albums, Ian Sherwin, auch die Produktion übernehmen sollte. - Wir hatten ein grundsätzliches Konzept, bei dem Ian und ich komplett auf einer Wellenlänge lagen und das wir ausführlich diskutierten. Dabei ging es um die Vorstellung, die die Menschen in den 70ern davon hatten, wie die Zukunft aussehen und sich anhören könnte', erzählt sie.

- Das neue Album ist anders. Die Musik hat irgendwie eine warme, sexy Energie. Aber es ist immer noch absolut La Roux. Das merkt man an vielen Stellen, den Riffs und Hooks, die ich schreibe, und auch an meiner Stimme.

Als wir das Album aufnahmen, redeten wir viel über Dub und wir haben am Anfang oft den Begriff ‚Ragga Disco' verwendet, aber ich bezweifle, dass das jetzt noch jemand raushören könnte. Natürlich gibt es auch Disco-Einflüsse. Ich habe viel Nile Rodgers gehört, das habe ich schon immer. Eines Abends kam er dann im Studio vorbei, um rumzuhängen und über Musik zu reden. Am Ende bin ich dann beim Montreux Festival 2012 mit ihm aufgetreten, das war unglaublich! Aber ich glaube trotzdem nicht, dass es sich jetzt wie ein Disco-Album anhört. Es ist ein seltsamer Pop-Hybrid mit kleinen Einsprengseln von anderen Sachen.'

Trouble In Paradise ist von einer bestimmten tropischen Insel inspiriert, die sie seit ihrer Kindheit immer wieder besucht hat. Dort ist sie auch einer Person begegnet, die derjenigen sehr ähnlich ist, um die es in dem lässigen, man könnte sagen Electro-Calypso-Track - Tropical Chancer' geht. Es sei ein sehr schöner Ort, sagt sie, aber auch sehr arm, ein Ort, in den sich Besucher verlieben, dem die Einheimischen aber gern entfliehen würden.

- Im Urlaub frage ich mich immer, wie der Strand außerhalb der Saison aussieht, wenn er leer ist. Oder was die Leute, die im Restaurant immer so nett zu einem sind, wirklich von den Touristen halten, die kommen und gehen. Mich hat es schon immer fasziniert, wie es an einem Ort ist, wenn man ihn verlassen hat. Oder der Moment nach einer Party, wenn nur noch Ballons auf dem Boden liegen und den Ort eine komische Leere erfüllt, wo vorher so viel Freude war. Das war eine wichtige Inspiration für die Platte.'

Trouble In Paradise widmet sich der Dunkelheit, die hinter dem schönsten Lied lauert, den Zweifeln in den glücklichsten Beziehungen und Problemen jeglicher Form, seien es die Unruhen in Brixton, dem Londoner Stadtteil, in dem sie noch immer zu Hause ist (- Uptight Downtown'); Konflikte von Paaren (- Cruel Sexuality', - Kiss And Not Tell') oder freche Geschichten wie - Sexoteque'. - Darin geht es um einen Typen, der einfach nicht aufhören kann, in Sexclubs zu gehen. Dazu hat mich ein Club inspiriert, den ich in Montreal gesehen habe, als ich auf Tour war. Ich fand den Namen einfach großartig.'

Das Album ist diesmal weniger persönlich geworden, dafür reifer und ambitionierter, in seinem Inhalt aber auch verspielter. Doch auch wenn Elly Wert auf die Texte legt, ihre eigentlichen Geschichten erzählt sie mit der Musik.

- Wenn ich mir zum Beispiel das Album Young Americans anhöre, dann achte ich nicht so sehr auf Bowies Gesang', erklärt sie. - Ich finde die Musik viel bemerkenswerter, wie die einzelnen Parts zusammenkommen, die Synkopen, die Verspieltheit des Ganzen. Oder wenn man bei einem Song von Tom Tom Club ein kleines Geräusch hört und lachen muss, weil es so eigenartig ist.

Deshalb habe ich etwas erweiterte Versionen der Tracks gemacht. So kann ich die Musik der Songs viel besser erkunden, ich kann viel mehr machen. Diesmal wollte ich wirklich die Musik für sich sprechen lassen.'

Phantogram sind Sarah Barthel (Vocals, Keyboard) und Josh Carter (Vocals, Gitarre). Mit ihrem Debütalbum Eyelid Movies von 2009 und der Nachfolge-EP 'Nightlife' (2011) erregte das Duo bereits eine ganze Menge Aufmerksamkeit. Der Sound von Phantogram stetig und organisch weiterentwickelt. Das neue Album ist eine atmosphärische Verschmelzung von schwerelosem Dreampop und knalligen Rhythmen, womit sie jener Ästhetik treu bleiben, die ihnen eine so ergebene und vielschichtige Fanbase beschert hat.

Der Album-Opener Nothing But Trouble führt Sarahs betörende Stimme ein, die durch Joshs ungeschminkte Sounds perfekt in Szene gesetzt wird. Nur wenig später führt 'Black Out Days' den Hörer tief hinein in einen intensiven Fiebertraum aus Echos und Sphären. Die Single 'Fall in Love' - seit ihrem Erscheinen ein Hit im US und kanadischen Alternative-Radio. Phantogram ziehen auf Voices alle Register. War ihr Debüt noch ein Studioalbum im besten Sinne, sind es für ihr neues Album vor allem die Erfahrungen auf Tour und auf der Bühne, die den Sound geprägt haben. 'Das Touren hat maßgeblich dazu beigetragen, wie Voices klingt', sagt Sarah dazu. 'Es hat und geholfen, an Sounds und Dynamiken zu arbeiten, die wir verwenden wollten'.

After the success of the 'Anyway' 12'', OTO, now a three-piece band played a few gigs before entering the studio to record their debut (and final) album 'Purge An Urge'. Produced by Vincent Hachet from French industrial duo Geinst Naït, 'Purge An Urge' was supposed to contain 9 tracks but the final release saw only 6 tracks. Cécile from fellow Nancy's band Candidate even did some backing vocals.

Released in 1986 on French label Divine known to have released Mecano, Tuxedomoon, Fra Lippo Lippi, Minimal Compact..., it was poorly promoted and was mainly sold in Nancy area. But the music was as vibrant as their first effort and evokes bands like Second Layer, End Of Data, Das Kabinette, Grauzone or Martin Dupont. Pascal Hubert then formed and still perform in French successful alternative band Double Nelson.

Now a much sought-after record 'Purge An Urge' is reissued for the very first time on vinyl...

On the back of an exciting debut album in 2012 that saw him perform live at Sonar festival and later with his band at Vienna's Volkstheatre, before disseminating music on Permanent Vacation, Suol and Connaisseur Recordings, enigmatic Basque Country producer El_Txef_A returns with his sophomore longplayer 'We Walked Home Together'.
El_Txef_A (pronounced 'Elchefa') has crafted a work that just like its journey-conjuring title, charts a shifting palette of sounds and moods, exemplifying its creator Aitor Etxebarria's breadth of skill.
Produced entirely in Aitor's homeland of the mountainous Basque Country, the album showcases the talents of not just its creator who producers, sings and plays piano on the record, but also some of the Spanish region's most outstanding musicians.
Local artist Biskonti is one contributor, whose vocals coat a brooding bed of rough-cut drums on the ice-cold slice of electronica 'I'm Going to Paint You', while Hannot lends his pipes to the moving 'You Left Us In This Physical World' that sweep over a delicately crafted brew of guitars and keys. Both Basque vocalists featured on El_Txef_A's debut 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room'. Sublime title track 'We Walked Home Together' turns into a family affair, with Aitor's brother Hibai playing the grand piano.
A graduate at 2013's Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, El_Txef_A has an impressive array of sonic strings to his bow and the Detroit techno inspired 'Claim of Planet Earth' deliciously rubs shoulders with the album's single, the alternative slice of pop 'The Love We Lost' featuring DFA's Woofly.
Elsewhere, Aitor paints a dream-like soundscape with the sublime shoegaze-inspired trip '0730' that seamlessly bleeds into 'Every Day Is Blue Monday', with its atmosphere-heavy swirl of subtle acid lines, floating synths and evocative vocals delivered by Suol records contributor Meggy.
An artist whose music is inextricably connected with his homeland, the album concludes with the stirring 'Mugarrirantz' sung in the native tongue of Euskera by country folk band Napora Iria. It's proof that El_Txef_A is equally adept at doffing his cap to tradition as moving a dancefloor with his inspired brand of electronica.

Anchored between the end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's, when industrial music courted funk, when electro(nica) made a shy appearance and house was visceral and plaintive, also inspired by current R&B productions and futuristic hip-hop, Tropics of Love is a slow tempo record that shines like a steel sun and rings diabolically romantic. 'On the Beach', a Balearic sombre take on Neil Young's classic song, makes you melt with pleasure; 'This is My Life', a Lil' Louis inspired scathing techno attack makes you dance; you put your arms up in the air for 'Bring Your Love', a pure gem of mournful pop with Luke Jenner of The Rapture on the mic; you move your backside to the syncopated beats and the feline voice of Akwetey (Dragons Of Zynth) on 'Each Other'; and only Joakim can make you fall asleep with your eyes wide open on the deviant electro jewels that are 'Three Lazer Fingers' and 'Hero'. Altogether retro futuristic, nostalgic and forward looking, danceable and contemplative, Tropics of Love draws the fine contours for the soundtrack of a summer that promises to be radiant and solar.

Zaba was recorded at Wolf Tone Studios in London, and produced by frontman Dave Bayley under executive production of Paul Epworth. The 11 track record features the singles Gooey and Pools plus a reworking of previous limited EP release, Black Mambo.

Created in Epworth's own studio it is undoubtedly among this year's most striking debuts. Inspired by Kanye West and Charles Darwin, Nina Simone and the Velvet Underground, ZABA is a rich and textured work, a very special record indeed. With Dave producing and Epworth as A&R and mentor, the studio became their home and the band were free to record, improvise and write at their own speed and so their sound has become a bigger, brighter, heavier and more intense experience than ever before.

'I used to be really into super-clean, no flaws production,' says Dave, 'but now I like the context and soul that mistakes, chopped samples, and swirly white amp-noises give you.... We definitely were a bit self-conscious, we were once afraid to do something bold. Now when we re together in the studio we don t worry about those things. In fact, we don t worry about anything at all...'

Monaco à Go-Go is singer/songwriter Jobst Miksche from Hamburg/Germany and 'Persimmon Lane EP' is his debut release (for Couldn.t Care More). The story of Tross could have ended on a terminal station in the Stockholm subway, at a mail center in Gothenburg or on a island on the swedish westcoast called Tjorn. 2009 was the year when the band members disappeared into a heavy haze. Two years later, when three of the original members re-found each other in a bunker at Odenplan, Stockholm they locked themselves in with the collected works of Neu!, Can and Brain Records. Summarized the loneliness, the infinity, the sea and the space in relentlessly driving melodies and rhythms to set your watch by. If Sun Ra was born on Tjorn he had started Tross, If Klaus Dinger had still been in mortal life, he had played in Tross. A band founded upon the seas in space!

Too Slow To Disco" huldigt dem perfekten Sound der späten Siebziger, auf der Suche nach dem 'Best Song Ever', der damals nicht nur viele Künstler in den köperlichen sowie finanziellen Ruin trieb. Wir alle wissen, sobald Musikgenres alt werden, scheinen die wichtigen, relevanten Teile auf einmal durch und diese Zusammenstellung versteht sich als Dokument eines fast vergessenen Teils der West Coast Musikwelt Mitte bis Ende der 70er Jahre. Wir hören diese Einflüsse heute nicht nur in Alt-Pop/Indie Bands wie Midlake, Haim, Gonzales, John Grant, Ariel Pink, Jonathan Wilson, Rhye, Devendra Banhart, Darkside, Destroyer, Phoenix, sondern auch in der discoiden Clubmusik von Acts wie Chromeo, Breakbot, Holy Ghost!, Todd Terje. Nicht zu vergessen Daft Punks "Random Access Memories", ein Album, das nicht nur dem Sound of L.A. Ende der Siebziger gewidmet ist, sondern sogar mit Hilfe einer Handvoll eleganter Studiomusiker aus der Zeit eingespielt wurde. Sisyphus is the new name for the collaboration between Serengeti, Son Lux, and Sufjan Stevens (formally s/s/s), whose new project under this moniker is a self-titled album partly inspired by the art of Jim Hodges, and commissioned by the Walker Art Center and The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music series in Minneapolis/Saint Paul. Liquid Music and the Walker Art Center will present a retrospective of Jim Hodge's work alongside a listening party of the new album in February, where fifty limited edition copies of the vinyl will be available for purchase. Asthmatic Kitty Records and Joyful Noise Recordings will release the record widely on March 17th, 2014. 'Take the romantic stings and catchy choruses from the Illinois era, throw in some crazed electronic percussion, melted synths, rapped verses, and autotuned vocals, and stir.' - Beats Per Minute....

Am 28. Februar erscheint mit "Glorious" endlich das heiß ersehnte Debütalbum des britischen Electro-Pop-Shootingstars Foxes. Die 24-jährige Sängerin und Songwriterin, die einst als Louisa Rose Allen im südenglischen Southampton das Licht der Welt erblickte, konnte sich in den vergangenen Wochen mit verschiedenen Veröffentlichungen in den US- und UK-Charts platzieren. Nachdem sie der Single "Clarity" des Lady Gaga-Produzenten Zedd (u.a. The Black Eyed Peas, Skrillex) die Stimme geliehen hatte (Top Ten in den Billboard Charts, Grammy-ausgezeichnet, Top 30 in UK), erreichte ihre eigene Single "Youth" Platz zwölf in Großbritannien. Mit "Let Go For The Night" liegt nun die nächste Auskopplung aus "Glorious" vor, die in Zusammenarbeit mit Jessie Ware-Partner Kid Harpoon entstanden war und nun vom französischen Remix-Genie Fred Falke (Gossip, Ellie Goulding, U2, Annie etc.) überarbeitet wurde.

Italian jazz man Nicola Conte is internationally known for his sophisticated productions on labels such as Blue Note and Universal, as well as touring the world with his floor-shaking DJ sets.

This Viagem 10' is the second volume of a five-part vinyl only series dedicated to bringing some of the rarest and most sought after samba jazz and bossa gems to a new generation of record collectors.

Zwei Perspektiven, ein Melodic-House-Manifest: "WAVES". Das Epizentrum des stylischen Groovers ist Amsterdam. Dennis Princewell Stehr, aka Mr. Probz, gilt in der niederländischen HipHop- und Produzentenszene längst als ausgemachter Ideengeber für schwer hitverdächtige Song- und Textideen. Als er im letzten Jahr seine "WAVES" auf YouTube präsentierte, trat er in seinem Heimatland buchstäblich eine Riesenwelle der Begeisterung los. Man nannte sie nicht umsonst die - Me Me Me Generation'. Die sehr von sich überzeugten bärtigen Musiker (und die Musikerinnen in wabernden Kleidern), die Mitte/Ende der 70er in L.A.'s Strassen rum hingen und sich selbst feierten. Der geschmackvolle Teil der Musik-Welt hätte diese Musikrichtung noch vor einigen Monaten nicht mit der Zange angefasst. Zu sanft, zu übertrieben, zu luxuriös, zu offen hedonistisch, zu ausladend. Zu unecht, zu gekünstelt, nicht authentisch, und dann noch diese unfassbaren Akkordwechsel...Aber ' Too Slow To Disco - vol. 1' hält sich nicht auf mit solchen alten Geschichten und Klischees. Wir alle wissen, sobald Musikgenres alt werden, scheinen die wichtigen, relevanten Teile auf einmal durch und diese Zusammenstellung versteht sich als Dokument eines fast vergessenen Teils der West Coast Musikwelt Mitte bis Ende der 70er Jahre.Es hat ein Jahr gedauert, die von uns ausgewählten, meist unbekannteren Songs aufzutreiben. El_Txef_A continues rolling out thoughtfully detailed productions after a brief break. 2 years ago was released his debut album and now the misterious boy from the Basque Country launches the single of what will be his second long play. 'The Love We Lost' is a mystical story sung by Woolfy from California, both artists have worked together for a Permanent Vacation release back in 2013 and now they have joined forces again to open the first page of what will be the highly anticipated new album from El_Txef_A. The limited 10 vinyl will include a bonus track of a never released track performed by 'El_Txef_A Band' called 'Somewhere In A Small Town".

Manchester-via-Brussels producer Oceaán will release his debut, self-titled EP through Chess Club Records on 31st March.

As a preview to the EP's forthcoming release, Oceaán has revealed brand new track 'To Lose' which is available to stream now.

With the release of debut track 'Need U' in 2013, the name of Oceaán quickly became one of the hottest in the electronic underground. Quickly becoming a blog favourite with the display of his unique sonic stratosphere of electronica, R'n'B and pop, his output has seen him sought after by other artists, already reworking the likes of MØ and Woman's Hour.

Harking to his well-travelled background - born in Brussels, spending the formative years of his life in Belgium and Denmark before relocating to Manchester - his debut EP is set to broaden the excitement around his work even further. Beaming with a sonic diversity befitting of Europe's tireless electronic landscape, the EP engulfs the dancefloor romanticism of 'Need U' with breathtaking new twists and turns. The subtlety of touch in opener 'Turned Away' gives way to a pulsating modernist take on pop with 'To Lose' as Oceaán's effortless production skills climax in triumph with the pop sheen of 'Your Side'.

Bounding seamlessly through textured rhythms, maximalist synth sounds and beautifully understated vocal lines, Oceaán's debut EP is set to bring his work out of the darkness and deservedly into the light.

4 years separate the last studio album from the new Conqueror release, entitled "STEMS". Years of important changes within the formation, which returned to a less orchestral line up than in the past, concentrating on the original form of the very first band. In compliance with the novelties, we still find the points on which the band's music has always been based: the self-imposed guildelines "no ready-made rules" and "keep changing constantly the compositional approach". The new album contains eight tracks for a total of over 60 minutes of music. Each song is a glimpse thought from everyday life. The trait d'union of all the songs tells how the passage of time changes the vision of reality undergoing constant change, thus requiring a different way of dealing with situations and relating to them. To relive images in the memory, after visiting places that in the tranquility of the memory will remain forever shrouded in their beauty; to rethink the value of small gestures, which are becoming more meaningful over time and are revived with the nostalgia of those who still seeks in the present.

The goal with Supernova was to look back to the Disco era but with a synth heavy and altogether more cosmic twist.
Alex is a big fun of modern Russian classical music composing style. Also he was inspired by early English progressive scene (Yes, ELO etc). This is why U-Ka's melodic lines are long and not so straight sometimes. And Oleg is musically far from academic school and prefers Zappa, early German electronic and psychedelic krautrock etc.

The project also has some other players: Kai Narezo (who owns studio in West Hollywood, awesome flamenco guitarist and good old friend of U-Ka) organises the recording sessions in Los Angeles and plays some guitar tracks too.

In LA they met the great musicians such as Ric Fierabarcci - bassist (his list of recording credits from Chic Corea, Billy Cobham to Tom Jones), Joey Heredia - drummer (his list of recording credits from Steve Wonder to Tania Maria), Jerry Watts - bassist (his list of recording credits from Andy Summers to Mylene Farmer) and other people who helped working on completing 'Supernova'.

The album was mixed & mastered to 1/4" tape using only analogue equipment in Los Angeles, in old Lion Share studio (the famous studio room in Michael Jackson's video 'We Are the World')

Kas Produkt was a key figure in the French scene at the beginning 80s. They proved it was possible to sing in English and have success in other countries but they are also responsible for the birth of an electronic-pop scene. From Nancy (the home-town of both Kas Produkt and OTO) Candidate emerges in 1983. The boy/girl duo (the same formula as Kas Produkt) released their first cassette (to be reissued on vinyl by desire later this year) in 1984 on Permis De Construire (Nox, Geinst Naït, Muslimgauze, Zero Kama...) to be shortly followed by a split 7'' with Gangrène. In 1987 they released their debut (and olny) album for local label Dum Dum Records. 'Side By Side' was really well received and the band played a lot of gigs to support it in France, Belgium, Switzerland and even Poland (more than 100 concerts during their career). 'Side By Side' is now reissued for the first time and has been entirely remastered by Anders Post. For fans of Deux, Moderne, Kas Produkt, Martin Dupont, Dark Day...

Of the eight records Live Skull released throughout the 1980s, Cloud One is probably the one most often cited as the definitive LS album. This was the record that fine-tuned the band's sound, transforming the polarizing power of the original No Wave into music that got under your skin and stayed there. A tightly-knit collection of songs and anti-songs years ahead of its time, Cloud One's chaos-scrambled hooks were a direct influence on the later breakthrough projects of Sonic Youth and Swans, Live Skull's co- conspirators in the so-called "noise scene" that emerged out of New York City in those years.

Cloud One captures Live Skull at a creative peak, with the band generating a profusion of arresting sounds and ideas via the most basic rock and roll vocabulary: bass, drums and two traditionally tuned guitars. The resulting record, an inexplicably seductive song cycle that filters art through the nasty mood swings of rock, was something radically new for 1986. Nearly thirty years on, Cloud One remains a transcendent musical hybrid as mysterious as it is memorable.

Reviewing Cloud One upon its 1986 release, Forced Exposure called the album "Live Skull's densest and most orgasmic disc yet," while Melody Maker UK declared, "Live Skull willfully derange and disengage conventional pop structures, harmonies and rhythms, preferring instead to exert a vice-like grip of droning guitars around the heart of the beast. It's an awesome racket."

Acclaim for the album has continued through the years, with online source shockofDAYLIGHT describing Live Skull's magnum opus as 'Primo scary art-noise from the epicenter. The band's album happens to be their best and most focused. Right as you're trying to make sense of the bafflingly hot n' pre-apocalyptic cover art, you get walloped by one of the best opening tracks in rock history. I have a hunch that bands like Fugazi, Unwound, & Halcion got their entire careers from this album.'

Finally reissued after nearly three decades out of print, Cloud One is now available on limited edition vinyl and (for the first time ever) on CD, complete with a lavish booklet including extensive liner notes by founding members Tom Paine and Mark C, and eight extremely rare bonus tracks. This is the third release in Desire Records' Live Skull project, an ambitious eight-title series of reissues of the entire Live Skull catalogue, personally overseen by Mark C and Tom Paine.
