We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records is insanely proud to team up with the mighty Ze Records (Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Was Not Was, Lio...) for an exclusive re-edition of Garçons' no wave gem 'Re-Bop". The limited 12 vinyl includes the original song by Marie et les Garçons produced by John Cale, its infamous 'Re-Bop Electronique' rework and a dancefloor-ready and Ivan Smagghe-approved edit by Tel Aviv producers Red Axes. Garçons originated from Marie et les Garçons, a punk band from Lyon, France formed in the 70s by Patrick Vidal, Eric Fitoussi, Jean-Pierre Charriau and Marie. Quickly achieving cult status thanks to edgy releases, a performance at New York's legendary CBGB and sharing stages with Patti Smith and Talking Heads, the band lost Marie at the end of the decade and morphed into Garçons, a trio pursuing mutant disco and no wave fantaisies. The rest is history: a short career celebrated in the underground, a deserved place in France's best kept secret hall of fame, and a whole lot of timeless music.

Muscle is the new single from Gwilym Gold, and the first release on HYMN, a new record label founded by Eddie Peake in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory. Due for release on 14 July, the single comes backed with a remix by Beam.

Fittingly, the seeds of the music that would become Muscle were sown with Gold and Peake working together for the White Cube exhibition, Adjective Machine Gun. Eight hours a day, four days a week for six weeks straight last year, Gold would sit at a piano in the gallery improvising a soundtrack to Peake's work with five dancers for a piece entitled Infinite Disparity. Like some fast-tracking of Malcolm Gladwell's fabled 10,000 hour rule of greatness, from this mammoth 200-hour extemporisation came forth the tender and strange beauty that is Muscle. As with previous collaborations, Gold has created the music and Peake the visuals, including all of the single artwork and its forthcoming video.

Muscle is the first new recorded material from Gwilym Gold since the release of the ground-breaking TENDER METAL project in 2012. A pioneering musical piece available exclusively in BRONZE - the generative-music format created by Gwilym Gold with producer Lexxx - which reinterprets songs in real time, manipulating all aspects of the sound to open up a world of unprecedented musical possibilities. As an idea, it remains truly ahead of its time.

Eddie Peake's work encompasses a broad array of media, and in his performances he often draws upon the power of live music and sound as a means to convey, as well as dictate, emotional and psychological narratives. His recent music projects include last year's Sing About Me Part 1 with Kendrick Lamar, St John Sessions with Actress, and Infinite Disparity with Gold, Ben Esser and Alexis Nunez.

Anchored between the end of the 80's and the beginning of the 90's, when industrial music courted funk, when electro(nica) made a shy appearance and house was visceral and plaintive, also inspired by current R&B productions and futuristic hip-hop, Tropics of Love is a slow tempo record that shines like a steel sun and rings diabolically romantic. 'On the Beach', a Balearic sombre take on Neil Young's classic song, makes you melt with pleasure; 'This is My Life', a Lil' Louis inspired scathing techno attack makes you dance; you put your arms up in the air for 'Bring Your Love', a pure gem of mournful pop with Luke Jenner of The Rapture on the mic; you move your backside to the syncopated beats and the feline voice of Akwetey (Dragons Of Zynth) on 'Each Other'; and only Joakim can make you fall asleep with your eyes wide open on the deviant electro jewels that are 'Three Lazer Fingers' and 'Hero'. Piano/ Trip Hop/ Electronic. For fans of Boards Of Canada, Pole, Hauschka, Four Tet, The Notwist. Working across a variety of media John Lemke explores all things sonic through live performance, sound design and his work as a documentary film composer. The Walizka EP is his latest solo release on Denovali Records. Three items in a suitcase, a clarinet, a looper and a microphone - is how it all started. A free improvisation with friend & collaborator Lukasz Bernacki (on clarinet) sparked John's desire to bring his compositional and production approach back down to the most basic elements. Creating simple, yet distinctive rhythms only through tapping contact microphones run into noisy guitar amps became the base for the EP's three tracks, consequently inspiring its live, lo-fi feel. Written and recorded between John's native Berlin and his adopted home of Glasgow, Walizka (Polish for 'suitcase') somehow absorbs the defining atmospheres of both cities in its core. Previously released digitally as a teaser for John's debut album, the Walizka EP actually presents newer material, progressing the electro-acoustic nature of 'People Do' towards more dub drenched territories. Refining John's blend of prepared piano and field recordings with hand crafted beats and swampy bass lines, this deeply moody and danceable release bends genres with refreshing ease. The EP is furthermore enhanced by a second half of remixes by fellow Denovali artists Piano Interrupted, SaffronKeira and Petrels and the ever elusive Everyday Dust. Far from conventional remixes, these pieces fall more in the category of re-imaginations, complementing the EP's first, more rhythm anchored half with a coherent ambient counterpart. CD: digipak. Debut EP 'Vehicle' from San Francisco based synth trio INHALT. Consisting of European and East Coast natives - Matia Simovich, Bryan Gibbs, and Philip Winiger - INHALT's core operative strategy is of sonic fidelity and integrity rather than nostalgia. Having experienced the downfall of the music industry and professional studio system while working at Asphodel Records/Recombinant Media Labs, INHALT needed to create their own creative working environment. Thus, they designed and built The Bunker Studio, developed around an integrative ideology and employing the best of vintage and modern technologies and techniques. Here, they've honed their sound - sometimes referential to the raw electronics of Kraftwerk or the drive of Moroder disco - but ultimately their own interpretation of the border between the past and the present. What started with the split 12 for Andy Blakes' World Unknown imprint now continues with the 'Vehicle' EP, where the brutality of the analogue transistor rhythm section meets the sincerity of the human voice.

Dark Entries is celebrating its 50th release with Leæther Strip 'Teenage Demos'. Leæther Strip is the solo-project of Danish electronic industrial artist Claus Larsen. Discovered by the German techno artist and producer Talla 2XLC, Leaether Strip quickly built a buzz as one of the most exciting emerging acts in Europe in the early 90's.
'Teenage Demos' is a collection of Claus Larsen's earliest recordings. Nine demo songs recorded between 1982 and 1986 never before released on vinyl. Influenced by Fad Gadget, Depeche Mode and Jean Michel Jarre, Claus began creating synth-pop melodies at age 14. Though the melodies were catchy and upbeat they had a hidden melancholy because Claus knew that he was different than others. 'Dreaming' was his first attempt to 'come out' to himself as a queer kid. Lyrically the songs reflected what was going on in his head: youth, hope and dreams. Claus used a simple set up: Moog Prodigy, Yamaha drum machine, delay pedal and spring reverb. He would record the bass and drums on a double cassette recorder, without midi, sequencers or preset sounds. By 1985, Claus composed instrumental songs as the final three tracks on this album illustrate.
Each song has been carefully remastered from the original masters for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in a glossy jacket with original photograph of a 15-year old Claus as well as an insert with lyrics, photos and an interview. 'Teenage Demos' is a sneak peak into the world of early, emotionally intense foundations of Leæther Strip.

hese two essential indian disco classics are now available again on a limited 7' release, introducing Halwasa Records to the crates. Jimmi Jimmi Jimmi Aaya, the indian version of Ottowan's - T'es OK!', made Disco Dancer to a legendary Bollywood movie and was later sampled for M.I.A.

Great new 12' compilation featuring a superb selection of tracks showcasing the Balearic sound of the mighty Richie Havens. First up is his awesome take on the Lamont Dozier classic 'Going Back To My Roots'. Originally released back in 1980, Richie's version was rediscovered later by the early Balearic DJs and became an anthem on that scene. Also included are Richie's incredible versions of classics like Fleetwood Mac's 'Dreams', The Doobie Brothers' 'Long Train Running' and his beautifully lush take on The Beatles' 'Strawberry Fields Forever' as well as the gorgeous sun-kissed vibe of 'Gay Cavalier', a captivating duet with Pino Daniele taken from Havens' 1983 LP 'Common Ground'. Another great collection from the Sunkissed camp.

Stella is the fourth studio album by the Swiss electronic band Yello, first released in 1985. It was the band's breakthrough album internationally, helped by the success of the song "Oh Yeah", which gained the band worldwide attention the following year after it was prominently featured in the 1985 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off and then two years later in The Secret Of My Success.

At the time of recording, Boris Blank and Dieter Meier began to move away from experimental electronic sounds towards a more commercial Synth Pop and cinematic soundtrack style. Recorded at the band's Yello Studio on the shore of Lake Zurich, the duo used some rather classic electronic equipment; a Yamaha DX7 and a Roland JX-3P, a Fairlight CMI Series II sampler along with an ARP Odyssey synthesizer, the Linn LM-1 and Oberheim DMX drum machines, a Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus and more.

Two singles were originally released from Stella. "Vicious Games" was accompanied with a video shot in Yello's Rote Fabrik (Red Factory) working space. The second single, "Desire" was also accompanied by a video, shot in Havana in Cuba to match the song's Latin sound. Following the appearance of "Oh Yeah" in Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Secret Of My Success, the song was also released as a single in 1987.

'Poemss' is a musical project from Toronto-based producer and music artist Joanne Pollock in collaboration with Aaron Funk, who's recorded music as Venetian Snares. They met in Europe but when Joanne played Aaron her music and visited him at his studio, collaboration started to happen soon after. Poemss will surprise anyone who equates Aaron's music solely with his hard-edged, drum-driven output. The record is the result of a true partnership, with both artists contributing to the writing and performance of the music, the technical aspects of production and to the performance and treatment of the vocals. The result is a collection of soft and dreamlike ballads; Aaron and Joanne's singing adding both texture and poetry to the album. They explain how the record came about:
"This album was made between January and May of 2013.To us, this album is an album of beginnings. It's the beginning of knowing someone, the beginning of a new creative endeavour, and fresh possibilities. The very first song that we wrote together is included in these tracks, and was to us just an experiment. As musicians, it seemed natural to see what we would make. We can hear ourselves becoming more comfortable with each other as it progresses; an evolution recorded in an album. This record comes from a very intimate place for both of us, largely because it was recorded in Aaron's house, where Joanne was visiting at the time. However, although it was recorded in Winnipeg, to us this record seems less rooted in a particular place or time, and seems more to be born out of our thoughts, dreams, and reflections. Listening back to every track, it is difficult for us to isolate which parts either of us brought individually to each song. We launch each other creatively, melodically. One of us will usually be inspired again to add to what the
other is laying down and it works in a kind of cycle like this. It's a nice way to flow and pleasantly surprising to see what the other person brings to it. Much of the time, it really sounds like the two of us together rather than a combination of what we do individually."

2014 is the 10th anniversay of the San Francisco based producers 40 Thieves releasing their frst EP and now they come through with their debut album 'The Sky Is Yours' for Leng Records.Core members Layne Fox, Corey Black & Jay Williams call on their bevy of friends to contribute to the group's diverse sonic smake up. Travis 'TK' Kirschbaum was a
co-founder and key contributor and local best buds Qzen, Alona, Rita Mazlan, Jason 'JP Soul' Peters, Chris MacGrew, Masahiko Kiritani, Dave Dick, Victor Critchfeld, Colin Klingman, Dave Kurzman and Larry Hamilton have all played various roles in past and current productions. Over the years 40 Thieves have connected with likeminded labels including Rong Music
and Permanent Vacation to release a small handful of original singles and EP's. One in particular, 2008's 'Don't Turn It Off,' caused such a commotion it wound up on a few
dozen CD compilations and was voted Best of the Decade by Beatport in 2010. Over the next few years the Thieves had the chance to remix great artists including Kid Creole
and the Coconuts, Gary 'Chocolate Star' Davis, Plastique De Reve, and Johnny Dynell. Whether they're creating cosmic odyssey soundscapes or lazy mutant house, 40
Thieves like to interweave live instrumentation with programmed electronics, their sound would be equally at home at the Mudd Club circa 1983 or in the headphones of an Ibiza
beachgoer circa 2083. Whether slack or upbeat, 40 Thieves always aim for the head as well as the foor. The Sky Is Yours will be released on two separate gatefold double LP's each containing 10 tracks.Essential!

Trek With Quintronic are the duo, formed from the ashes of prog rock band Masque in 1979. They recorded two pioneering albums of unique electronic rock. 'Landing Plus' compiles the complete discography of Trek With Quintronic on a double vinyl for the first time in over 30 years. Trek With Quintronic wrote songs with a powerful sound, myriads of compositional ideas, synthetic noises and catchy melodies. Indie.. "Sára Vondrášková, known by her stage name NEVER SOL, is a Czech singer and composer based in Prague. Writing her first songs in the age of 15 mostly for herself and studying music for 8 years at the conservatory, the important moment came around 2011, when she has been offered to play her songs constantly at one of the most vibrant Bohemian venues in Prague at Café V Lese. Focused on piano and voice she shared the stages with friends and musicians, becoming more confident about her own artistic approach and vision. Shortly after her first concerts producer Jan P. Muchow got in contact with her and the two years long composing process of her debut album UNDER QUIET began. To give her songs a frame Sára Vondrášková created the rather abstract pseudonym Never Sol. The piano has always been central in her music writing, but in the past years she was more and more gaining knowledge in using music production software. Creating sounds turned out to be another starting point to evolve her music and to get rid of the patterns and techniques taught in her classical education. Sára Vondrášková is a regular guest singer with Czech musician and Denovali artist FLOEX. Touring and performing with Floex is an essential influence and of course strong female artists like Cat Power, Fiona Apple, Jessie Ware Or Bat For Lashes keep inspiring her work. CD: digipak. On the back of an exciting debut album in 2012 that saw him perform live at Sonar festival and later with his band at Vienna's Volkstheatre, before disseminating music on Permanent Vacation, Suol and Connaisseur Recordings, enigmatic Basque Country producer El_Txef_A returns with his sophomore longplayer 'We Walked Home Together'.
El_Txef_A (pronounced 'Elchefa') has crafted a work that just like its journey-conjuring title, charts a shifting palette of sounds and moods, exemplifying its creator Aitor Etxebarria's breadth of skill.
Produced entirely in Aitor's homeland of the mountainous Basque Country, the album showcases the talents of not just its creator who producers, sings and plays piano on the record, but also some of the Spanish region's most outstanding musicians.
Local artist Biskonti is one contributor, whose vocals coat a brooding bed of rough-cut drums on the ice-cold slice of electronica 'I'm Going to Paint You', while Hannot lends his pipes to the moving 'You Left Us In This Physical World' that sweep over a delicately crafted brew of guitars and keys. Both Basque vocalists featured on El_Txef_A's debut 'Slow Dancing in a Burning Room'. Sublime title track 'We Walked Home Together' turns into a family affair, with Aitor's brother Hibai playing the grand piano.
A graduate at 2013's Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, El_Txef_A has an impressive array of sonic strings to his bow and the Detroit techno inspired 'Claim of Planet Earth' deliciously rubs shoulders with the album's single, the alternative slice of pop 'The Love We Lost' featuring DFA's Woofly.
Elsewhere, Aitor paints a dream-like soundscape with the sublime shoegaze-inspired trip '0730' that seamlessly bleeds into 'Every Day Is Blue Monday', with its atmosphere-heavy swirl of subtle acid lines, floating synths and evocative vocals delivered by Suol records contributor Meggy.
An artist whose music is inextricably connected with his homeland, the album concludes with the stirring 'Mugarrirantz' sung in the native tongue of Euskera by country folk band Napora Iria. It's proof that El_Txef_A is equally adept at doffing his cap to tradition as moving a dancefloor with his inspired brand of electronica.

For their latest outing, a choice selection of rock, balearic and pop-reggae-disco goes under the razor for some precise trimming and extensions.

Beard Science veterans Hardway Bros. & 45 Badger are joined by Glasgow's scratchandsniff, and Tokyo Matt from Hong Kong's Otaku Soundsystem.

Not much as it turns out - the generally very forthcoming Golf Channel crew are remaining tight-lipped about the architects of this, frankly mind-blowing debut long-player from this new NYC collective.

A Walk In The Dark is exactly that, a situationist song-sheet & sonic chaperone to guide us through the back street escapism these troubled times demand.
From gently over-driven Punk Funkin' mascara stained hymns, to House that's been thoroughly smudged to the edges of it's live music incorporating limits.
Sitting very comfortably, in a moment of stewed elevation alongside Sound Signature style machine jams, bare bones vocal led improvisations, discordant Arthur Russell moments & the distorted reflections of roots House that run to the very core of the big apple.

A drop-jaw debut then, that wears its influences proudly, but takes them somewhere entirely new

TOY have announced details of the release of a new single. Make it Mine will be released through Heavenly Recordings on Monday 26th November 2012.

The single is taken from their self-titled debut album which was released on 10th September.

Released as a 12' and download it also will also feature a Richard Fearless remix of Drifting Deeper alongside 2 unreleased tracks, Live Electronics and She's Over My head.

Make It Mine was recorded during the spring of 2012 with Dan Carey in his South London studio as part of the album sessions.

Toy have just completed an extensive U.K which included a Sold-Out London Heaven show. They previously completed a 4-week residency at the Shacklewell Arms in London in January, played a sold-out show at London's XOYO in April and appeared at most of the U.K.'s leading festivals over the summer including Reading / Leeds, Latitude, Bestival, End Of The Road, Festival No.6 and Green Man.

Restless Idylls is the first full length album from Tropic of Cancer, the solo project of Los Angeles-based Camella Lobo. Lobo debuted in 2009 with 'The Dull Age'/'Victims', a 10" single on Downwards and the first of three collaborations with Juan Mendez (Silent Servant). Two years later came a second Downwards release ('Be Brave', remixed by Cabaret Voltaire's Richard H. Kirk), followed soon after by The Sorrow Of Two Blooms on Blackest Ever Black - the label's third release and one if its most cherished. The urgent motorik of lead single 'More Alone' is perhaps a misleading foretaste of the full-length, which is more lush, languid and extravagantly despondent than previous TOC material. Spaß wird bei Jordan Kelley und Jason Huber generell sehr ernst genommen. Die beiden Mitglieder des Duos Cherub mit Wohnsitz Nashville beglücken die Welt seit 2010 mit einer catchy Synthese aus Electropop und funky R&B, in deren Texte sich eine jugendliche, hedonistisch-risikofreudige Lebenseinstellung manifestiert. Dank ausgefuchster Studio-Skills gelingt es den beiden überdies, ihre Kompositionen mit derart unwiderstehlichen Grooves zu würzen, dass selbst deine Eltern dazu tanzen können. Und genau das war auch das erklärte Ziel des Albums "Year Of The Caprese", auf der sich als Leadtrack der Song "Doses & Mimosas" findet, der u.a. von Alle Farben remixed wurde. Damit liefert die Band den perfekten Party-Starter - was nun passiert, bleibt der Phantasie jedes Einzelnen überlassen...

Wem beim Anblick des Titels der neuen Single von OST+FRONT in Erwartung von Gefühlsduselei-Zuckerguss schon vorsorglich die Magensäure in den Hals steigt, der wird schnell eines Besseren belehrt werden, sind die Berliner doch bekannt für ihre von beißendem Zynismus und eiskalter Ironie durchzogenen Stücke. So ist auch "Liebeslied" natürlich nicht das, was es im ersten Moment zu sein scheint und entpuppt sich schnell als bitterböse Ode an die Liebe. Der Song ist ganz nebenbei aber auch ein echt bombastischer und extrem hartnäckiger Ohrwurm, der mit angemessen brachialen Gitarrenwänden aus den Boxen hämmert, dass es eine wahre Freude ist. Als Gegenpol dazu erzählt die B-Seite, "Winter Ade", ihre tragische Geschichte in getragenem, elegischen Bombast und bietet auf ziemlich nihilistische Weise dann doch noch etwas fürs Herz. Die strikt auf 388 Stück limitierte und handnummerierte 7"-Single in edlem, weißen Vinyl ist der ideale Appetithappen für das Anfang 2014 erscheinende, neue Album "Olympia".
