The last time Fennesz released an album on Austrian label Mego it was 2001 and the name of that release was 'Endless Summer'. Now, in 2014 Editions Mego is extremely proud to release the conceptual follow up that landmark of abstract pop. Eschewing the more drone orientated works of 'Black Sea', 'Bécs' returns to the more florid pop mechanisms as deployed on Endless Summer. ' Bécs is not just an album or a series of songs, it's a world to inhabit, a landscape ripe with sounds, songs and that esteemed Fennesz signature. A singular work by a singular artist.

Synth Wave and heartbreak were countered with uplifting ambience, Industrial dereliction brightened by violin strings for a superb debut. LÎle Nue maps an evolution in the Anthe's sound. The LP is vastly different to Pièce Radiophonique, with rougher production edges being sanded down and refined. A nun in Berlin seeking enlightenment. Khan as a male hustler on '1-900 Get-Khan' (Matador) including his own phone sex line. Khan the torch singer Gothic Bunny on 'Who Never Rests' (Tomlab), as the 'Last Standing Disco Band' with Captain Comatose (Playhouse), once around the planet and off into space, and now as the bearded big city nun on Album Label.

The Debut album "Less Ness" from contemporary Bay Area duo, Max and Mara. Their collaboration began in 2012. Max is based in Oakland and has been a part of various projects most notably Brotman and Short and his current solo work as Business Etiquette. Mara is based in San Francisco and is known for her solo work as Group Rhoda.

At the end of 1981, brothers Darrin and Stephen Huss and schoolmate Dwayne Goettel performed for the first time as Psyche in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Their live show was a combination of horror and electronics that was completely unprecedented in Western Canada. Although Goettel and the Huss brothers parted ways before Psyche was to release any material, the masters containing Dwayne Goettel's performances were preserved in the band's vaults. Now, 19 years after Goettel's untimely passing in 1995, Dark Entries records presents ''Re-Membering Dwayne'', the original Psyche-Dwayne Goettel sessions. All tracks were recorded and mixed on 4-track during a single day in March of 1983. Psyche's early material is visceral and abrasive, a far cry from the sleek, dark synthpop they'd later become known for. Like the body horror films of fellow Canadian David Cronenberg, Psyche disquietingly conflate the organic and the mechanical, calling into question the limits of the human form. Dwayne, who would join Skinny Puppy a few years later, contributes heavily to this more aggressive, disturbing sound. All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each LP includes a 12-page booklet with excerpts from Darrin Huss' diary, unpublished photos of Psyche with Dwayne, and an essay by Darrin reflecting on Psyche's past and the Goettel legacy as well as lyrics. This collection is a glimpse at the early Canadian industrial scene and the roots of Skinny Puppy. Go take a walk in the past with an ear for the future; you just might learn something.

RONiiA (pronounced Row-nee-a) is Nona Marie Invie (Dark Dark Dark, FUGITIVE), Mark McGee (Father You See Queen, Marijuana Deathsquads) and Fletcher Barnhill (Joint Custody, FUGITIVE). Together they produce a mysterious world full of departure, rejection, and love made from dark beats and scuffed up synths. Electronic music that is stripped of its gloss, as wildly innovative as it is original. As a group, the three members of RONiiA create a world that is both gorgeous and intense, where your eyes are snails and the fish eat your skin. There is peace under water

The modernist Dreampop of Magic Island's Wasted Dawn was catalyzed and nurtured by Berlin. The predominant Casio keyboard was found in the street, the project itself developed under the influence of a close circle of Berlin-based artists and friends, including Touchy Mob and Montreal's Sean Nicholas Savage, while the compositions strongly reflect both the complex and most simplistic day-to-day emotions, events and surrounding environment. That particular magic has proven charming to many, as this year Magic Island has played at Fusion Festival, Torstraßen festival, C/O Pop Festival, at The Lab Magazine's Regenerate event series, as well as opening for Fenster (Morr Music), Ballet School (Bella Union), Hundred Waters (OWSLA), Soft Metals (Captured Tracks) and Teen Daze

Hailing from North Somerset, UK post/prog-rock veterans BLUENECK have been at forefront of the European underground experimental scene since forming in 2000. They've released four critically-acclaimed albums, toured extensively across Europe with acts such as Cult of Luna and Mono, have soundtracked a number of independent films and had their work featured on NBC, HBO and SyFy channels, and are now mainstays of the European festival circuit (including a triumphant midnight set at Glastonbury 2014). However their most ambitious achievement - 3 years in the making - is new album KING NINE. Singer-songwriter Duncan Attwood's astonishingly affecting melancholy vocals have always been the chilly heart of Blueneck's music (2006's SCARS OF THE MIDWEST, 2009's THE FALLEN HOST, 2011's REPETITIONS), so fans were surprised when the band released the hushed, vocal-free soundtrack album EPILOGUE in 2012. However, work had begun by Attwood and fellow bandmembers Richard Sadler and Ben Paget on KING NINE in early 2011, in advance of the writing and recording of EPILOGUE. Continuing their ongoing relationship with Bristol UK producer/collaborator Mat Sampson, KING NINE has been a quiet labour of love - a deliberate, determined commitment to push Attwood's songcraft and singing to the fore. To make the most vibrant, accessible and exciting Blueneck record possible. The band's three key musical influences go some way to explaining KING NINE's ambitious, expansive (but always accessible) scope: the electronica of Boards of Canada, the movie soundtracks of Ennio Morricone and John Carpenter, the melodicism and melancholia of Kid-A era Radiohead and Arcade Fire. Not too far from works of contemporary groups such as Tuxedo Moon and Minimal Compact. The Night's Remains was originally released in 1982 on the Trinciato Forte Records label. Back in print on LP for the first time in 30+ years thanks to the fine folks at Spittle.

I'm quite happy with this renewed interest in A.T.R.O.X. It is quite amazing that Mojo Magazine mentioned one of our tracks among the best of the Italian New Wave, and it's incredible that some friends from Sicily wrote to me how important our two albums were for them. And, indeed, they were also important for me and for my travelling companions, nowadays each of us sails on his own route, but those days the sound was made of our common energy. We were discovering the New Wave (Tuxedomoon, The Residents, Chrome) and we ourselves were the New Wave. Back in print on LP for the first time in 30 years thanks to the fine folks at Spittle.

'When we recorded "Water Tales" I was thinking of the sea as the only escape for mankind. I proposed this idea to the rest of the band and all of them were just thrilled. Probably it is the only New Wave concept-album that was ever released. The sound, compared to the first album, is more influenced by the lessons of Eno and David Byrne, who were enriching their compositions with amazing and intriguing musical phrases and rhythms. Of course, we did not forget the lessons of Neu! and Faust. The Andreoni brothers and Marchini were both brilliantly creative and yielding, and they were responsible for all the musical themes upon which Benvisi carved the acoustics. "Water Tales" is a sincere album, then the season changed and suddendly we were 'every man for himself' almost without realizing it.'

Following the January release of their celebrated second album, The Age of Fracture, CYMBALS close the year out with a limited edition 7' entitled What Eternity, featuring two new songs - 'Talk To Me' and 'Innocence'. Both songs were produced by Dreamtrak and mixed by Dan Rejmer. Marking the end of what has been an incredibly eventful twelve months, the 7' will be released on 12th January through Tough Love. The songs on What Eternity come to the wider world at almost the same time they did to the band - both tracks were recorded in September of this year, very soon after CYMBALS returned from their first US tour. Emboldened by the reception they received from audiences in cities thousands of miles from home, a concerted effort was made to harness the energy and enthusiasm of those US shows and to create something that reflected the band right now. The circumstances around The Age of Fracture dictated it be recorded over a long period of time, whereas there is a immediacy to these new songs at odds with the long stretches of time that often bridge the gap between a song being recorded and its release - they are very much of the moment, both direct and vital. As such, they might well be CYMBALS' best songs to date. As singer Jack, says: "These songs are close to what I am feeling during this current moment, in other words this season, or the stretch of time from spring to autumn this year. They are a little more personal and introspective, which is some kind of difference for us. We don't want to explain them too much, given that so many words accompanied the album we wrote last year and released earlier this year - these songs have no notes with them, no explanations, no justifications. The only thing we should say is that the title is borrowed from a book by Marguerite Yourcenar, who herself borrowed it from a poem. We've messed with the punctuation and in so doing changed the meaning to suit what we wanted to say."

Sailor & I is a metaphor for two wills inside a person, which are in a battle with one another. We do things we don't want to do, but we can't stop doing it for some reason

Sailor & I is synonymous with Alexander Sjödin who makes music of a similar persuasion - curiously compulsive and at the same time beautiful and utterly brutal
Swedish singer, multi instrumentalists and producer Alexander Sjödin creates the band's signature soundscapes and introvert pop songs with the use of violins, voices, the bass, analog synths and prominently featured drums who recall Rhye, Fleet Foxes and Woodkid's musical landscapes.
Sailor & I's first pop song offering saw the band release their debut single 'Tough Love' on one of the UK's most prestigious new taste-maker electronic labels Black Butter late summer 2013.  Airplay followed on all BBC Stations in the UK as well as the interest in the band arose significantly across Europe
Sailor & I are now back with their latest productions for Life and Death. The two original tracks, while very different in moods, both share lush productions and a dramatic musical storytelling not often found in a typical dance release. While Boys & Girls offers a slowed-down mournful and yet beautiful nostalgic tale of childhood days gone by, Turn Around comes straight out of the gate like a racehorse on fire, flanked by strong strings and a vocal that pleads a case for love that comes straight from the heart.
And of course rounding out the release is arguably one of the most anticipated tracks of the summer. Ever since it first started falling on people's ears earlier this year, the Âme remix of 'Turn Around' has been the high point of sets by Tale of Us, Dixon, Mano Le Tough as well as the few select others that have had their hands on it up until this point. It's been giving goosebumps to club goers everywhere and with good reason — this is Âme at their finest, taking the song and extending it into an epic masterpiece that works wonders on a dancefloor while never losing the bewitching essence of the original.

Internationally renowned DJ and radio personality Gilles Peterson has called upon some of the most exciting names across the jazz, electronic and indie worlds to rework Melanie De Biasio's acclaimed album No Deal, including EELS, The Cinematic Orchestra, Hex, and Seven Davis Junior.

EELS haunting, orchestral reworking of opening track I Feel You is the first ever remix by Mark Oliver Everett (AKA E), who fell in love with De Biasio's music when she supported EELS at the Royal Albert Hall in June. The Cinemantic Orchestra give I'm Gonna Leave You an intense reworking, while beat maker C. Crisci, a.k.a Clap! Clap! gives the same track an afro-beat slant. Seven Davis Jr gives title-track No Deal an old school house flavour, while LA's Jonwayne coats With All My Love a lush balm of hip-hop. Japan's Toshio Matsuura (AKA Hex) adds an impressive urgency to The Flow, whilst France's modern classical composer Chassol provides a downtempo and discordant take on Sweet Darling Pain.

2014 has been a breakthrough year for Brussels-based De Biasio, who was recently announced the winner for Belgium of the 2015 European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA), which celebrate the best new pop, rock and dance acts in Europe which have achieved cross-border chart success. Other winners include Hosier (Ireland), MO (Denmark), Milky Chance (Germany), and Todd Terje (Norway).

No Deal received 4 star reviews from The Guardian, Mojo, and Record Collector, with Hi-Fi Plus awarding it 10 out of 10, saying "I think we have the album of the year on our hands." Her most recent single I'm Gonna Leave You was playlisted at BBC 6 Music, and last month De Biasio performed on Later...With Jools Holland, BBC2's flagship music show, becoming the first Belgian artist to be invited on the show since 1995.

ORKA is a Faroese act based in London. When ORKA started they began with building their own instruments out of agricultural tools on a small farm on the Faroe Islands. ORKA has since then played venues and festivals all over the world and done collaborations with a number of prominent acts including LV (Hyperdub, Keysound), Yann Tiersen, and Ólafur Björn Ólafsson (Sigur Rós). Now ORKA is ready with their 4th full-length album LEIPZIG. The bulk of the album was recorded at UT Connewitz, a spectacular and worn down pre-war cinema in the heart of Leipzig, Germany, together with Oktopus (Dälek), Ólavur Jákupsson, and HOGNI. Other recordings were done on tour in Paris, New York, a small church in Sibrandahûs, Netherlands, a boat in Hong Kong and a train terminal in Bombay. The album was then finalised and patched together in ORKA's and co-producers LV's London studios, and it features vocals by Greta Svabo Bech (Deadmau5) and Teitur among others. On LEIPZIG ORKA's trademark custom instruments and dark sound are fused with sedated resounds from UK Bass and LA Beat topped with icy North Atlantic vocals. ORKA call it Club Gaze. If compared to other artists, you could say that the album sounds like J Dilla's Donuts if it was produced by Burial, with the Nordic melodic sensibility of Sigur Rós, and performed by Faust."

Innra proceeds the internationally acclaimed Í Annan Heim record which spent 100 weeks in the Icelandic chart's Top 30 while international it garnered high praise from media such as NME, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, CMU Daily and the US' KEXP Radio.

The three year gap between the two albums gave Rökkurró the space to meticulously expand their luscious pale[e into the beautiful, dreamy soundscapes that is Innra. New members Helga on piano and Skúli on bass have been added to the line-up and time spent by the bands members between Tokyo, London and Reykjavík inspired Rökkurró to record their first part-English speaking record.

The first taster from Innra came in the form of English-speaking album track Killing Time, which premiered on The Line of Best Fit and featured on The Guardian's blog late 2013, with the later describing the song as 'warm, wonderfully textured number that finds stuttering rhythms judder underneath swelling instrumentals while the vocal's unshakable sense of longing will lingers well after the song has finished.' The description is befitting for the album as a whole. The album's second single, The Backbone yielded an US premiere on Under The Radar and a prominent feature on Q Magazine in UK.

There's a new electronic element to Rökkurró, but one of soft synths mixed with gently textured, layered percussion. The result is a warm enveloping backdrop to singer Stefánsdóttir's soft and at times subtly sultry vocals.

Dark Entries release 'Uno', a collection of early recordings from seminal Italian electronic act Kirlian Camera. Keyboardist/vocalist Angelo Bergamini founded the project in Parma in 1979. 'Uno' compiles 11 songs. Kirlian Camera's clean, minimalist new wave is marked by strong haunting melodies, slow moving synth washes, and stark, dramatic vocals.

Just listen to the first thirty seconds of this LP and you know that it's all about the 'Godfather of Soul' - the unique James Brown.
But it's just as obvious that such a great artist as George Benson doesn't just present 'Greatest Hits' in a new guise. Six of his own compositions plus one by Donny Hathaway/Gene McDaniels provide the guitarist and singer with a great platform to launch from. He shoots off into orbit, accompanied by first-class guest soloists such as Jon Faddis, Frank Foster, Earl Klugh and Jack DeJohnnette. Ron Carter's bass doesn't boom in the low register but offers a light and airy, yet solid, base.
"Body Talk" is by no means the declaration of a world-shaking, new and avant-garde jazz. It is, however, a successful blend of jazz, soul and fusion. And when such a superb arranger as Pee Wee Ellis has his finger in the pie - or rather: his pen on the manuscript paper - then one can be sure that the almost 50-minute-long LP is a great success from beginning to end. Finally, one shouldn't forget the helping hand of the producer Creed Taylor, who made a significant contribution to this milestone on the CTI label.

Dark Entries and Honey Soundsystem have teamed up to release 'Catholic', the lost opus of disco pioneer Patrick Cowley and Indoor Life vocalist Jorge Socarras. Perhaps one of the most revolutionary and influential people in the canon of disco music, Cowley created his own brand of Hi-NRG dance music, 'The San Francisco Sound.' Born in Buffalo, NY on October 19, 1950, Patrick moved to San Francisco at the age of 21. He studied at the City College of San Francisco and met Jorge Socarras in 1973 through mutual friends. The duo's first collaboration was a ten-minute trance-inducing epic that Cowley composed for a performance piece by Socarras in 1975. Patrick, who played drums, guitar and keyboards, provided the perfect match for Jorge's vocal talents. Between 1975 and 1977 they recorded an album's worth of material before Socarras moved to London and Cowley started playing synthesizers for Sylvester. Upon Jorge's return to San Francisco in 1979, the duo would re-record some of the 'Catholic' songs with Patrick's newly acquired equipment. Meanwhile, Socarras met the musicians with whom he would form Indoor Life, and in 1980 Patrick co-produced their first album. The 'Catholic' album was offered to San Francisco's Megatone Records who passed on it. Fast forward to 2007 when Honey Soundsystem was contacted by John Hedges, former co-owner of Megatone Records. Hedges' was moving to Palm Springs and invited the crew over to his basement to collect over 2,000 records from his collection. Among the archives were three moldy boxes of quarter inch reel to reel tapes featuring unreleased music by Cowley, including the 'Catholic' material. The reel was passed on to Stefan Goldmann of Macro Recordings in Berlin who was able to track down Jorge Socarras and clear the rights. 'Catholic' was finally released on CD in 2009. 'Catholic' is a genre-bending concept album that ranges from minimalistic proto-techno to synth-driven post-punk, pre-dating the dance punk acts LCD Soundsystem and The Rapture by almost 30 years. It shows a much broader range than any Cowley or Socarras material available and gives a totally new perspective to one of the most inspiring eras in music history. Influenced by Tomita, Wendy Carlos, the Velvet Underground, and Roxy Music, 'Catholic' prefigures acts like Talking Heads, Units, The Human League or Chris & Cosey. Patrick forges a unique electronic sound from his collection of synthesizers, modified guitars, and self-constructed equipment while Jorge's vocals go from hypnotic to camp, singing about gay love juju and tackling classics by Donovan and Stoller & Leiber. Featuring over 80 minutes of music never before released on vinyl, this compilation contains two bonus tracks not featured on the CD release. The tapes were meticulously restored by mastering guru Rashad Becker at D+M in Berlin, then remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA. The vinyl comes housed in a glossy dual pocket gatefold featuring the intended album cover from the original 'Catholic' photo shoot in 1979, and the original hand-lettering by Arch Connelly aka A. Style intended for the first 45rpm single. Inside the gatefold sleeve contains lyrics and an essay from Jorge Socarras. For the 32nd anniversary of Patrick's death, Dark Entries and Honey Soundsystem present a glimpse into the minds of these two geniuses. These recordings shine a new light on the experimental side of a disco legend who was taken too soon. All proceeds from 'Catholic' will be donated to the San Francisco AIDS Housing Alliance.

Die CD enthält acht neue Tracks, die erstmals auf diesem Album zu hören sein werden. Als ultimatives Fanpackage erscheint "Xscape" zusätzlich in einer Deluxe Edition als CD/DVD-Combo. Als Executive Producer zeichnet Epic Records Chairman/CEO L.A. Reid für XSCAPE verantwortlich, der nach ursprünglichen Recherchen in den Jackson-Archiven vom Estate uneingeschränkten Zugang zu jenen Schätzen erhielt, auf denen die kompletten Vocals der letzten vier Jahrzente enthalten sind. Reid fungierte als Kurator der finalen Liste von Aufnahmen, die an die Produzenten gegeben wurde, um die Produktionen zu überarbeiten und mit einem frischen, aktuellen Sound zu versehen - und gleichzeitig darauf zu achten, Michael Jacksons künstlerische Essenz und Integrität zu bewahren.
