Prolific Spanish producer Rayko brings you four slices of synth-tastic nu-disco with a prog twist here. The title track is a lazy, hazy affair in which untold layers of analogue sound oscillate their way in and out of the picture. "Drive" sees him join forces with fellow Spaniard Landerground to deliver a wonderfully fluid, fluttering chunk of synth-heavy Balearica. The title is clearly a nod towards the famous movie of the same name, and many of the electronic sounds are reminiscent of the film's legendary soundtrack 'Autopower' is a tad funkier in feel and, with its sense of repressed energy, would make a great building track. But for some truly out-there thrills, head for 'Oopart', a guitar-led affair that comes on like Ripperton jamming with space rock diehards Ozric Tentacles.

*2017 repress, New Artwork* A remarkable follow-up to a timeless album that shows the band taking greater risks in songwriting and playfully experimenting with production techniques.
This album is Witch's stunning swansong before the fast-changing music industry and political environment in Zambia took its toll on the group. Again rooted in American FM radio, from soft rock ballads to boogie, this album sees the group embrace their Zambian roots to a greater degree, which is reflected in the rhythms and even the title of the album. This time around Patrick Mwondela pushes his synth work and electronic production to a whole other level. Kuomboka is the unforgettable last voyage of this legendary band.

Ancient rites of witchcraft and wisdom are the theme for Red Laser's 2nd release of 2020, with chief sound sorcerer Kid Machine consulting the eight schools of magic to create a spellbound opus of Manctalo mystery.
Across the 8 defined classes: Divination, Abjuration, Enchantment, Necromancy, Illusion, Conjuration, Evocation & Transmutation; Kid Machine renders these archaic energies into reactive musical matter. Much like mages and hierophants have kept centuries-old traditions and processes; the studio wizardry of Kid Machine reflects the various epochs of electronic music preceding it: the wistful yearning of vintage Italo coalescing with the charged energy of Northern English dance music and crafted via a meticulously sourced array of esoteric sound tools.
Side A's 'Magico', schooled in Divination, opens the LP.
A rugged rhythmic synth line nicely tweaked and with tasty clavs it's further expanded with glassy keys and a vocal refrain reminding us of its future-predicting powers.
'Make Me Feel Alright', protecting us with Abjuration, employs both squelchy and staccato synthesizer functions to construct its impenetrable gilded fortress. Banishing its foes to far-away lands with classico leads and a chord progression steeped in Italian nostalgia.
Snappy freestyle beats, galloping arps and searing melodies enchant 'S.D.M', an alchemical hybrid of electro-disco and pulsating EBM that would surely convince plenty, previous, non-compliers to frequent the poppers-drenched dark rooms of Europe's nocturnal underbelly.
Meanwhile, channelling dark necromancy, 'You're Love' closes off disc one with some of the most authentic, Italo-inspired keyboard interchanges and spirit-raising sequences available on the album.
Next come the winds & tides of Illusion and Conjuration. 'NGAFFS's' anthemic licks emanate off the wax. Broken down to 'not giving a flying fuck', it's Kid Machine's most spine-tinglingly epic track to date; uniting all under its Tesla-like harnessing of zero-point energy. Add coital thrust and you find us physically trying to grab the holographic, multi-dimensional synth fractals from the air in front of us upon first listen!
'Muszic' continues with another grandiose Manctalo coup de grace, full of sentiment and yearning.
Inviting Evocation through smokes & strobes, 'Modera' sees amyl nitrates recklessly thrown into the cauldron, tantalizing arpeggios stroking our most erogenous zones with abandon.
Finally, 'The White Hotel', assigned: Transmutation - is a tribute to the infamous nightspot contained within Red Laser's immediate territory, and home for the crew's many spectacular parties.
It's a fitting homage as galloping analogue sequences march over sensual strings and moody chord progressions; evoking that irreplaceable feeling of being surrounded by your favourite homo sapiens in one of the most hedonistic locations on planet Earth.
"Those who don't believe in magic, may never find it...".

ARTIFACT is again hot off the vinyl presses with a private edition, curated by stalwart editor BOTTIN. First off, "Manifesto Balearico" does exactly what it says: providing a blueprint of the Balearic Beat genre: thick layers of dreamy keyboards over a lavish mid-tempo groove, topped by a sparse macho voiceover and chanting sirens. With "Palmy Days" we leave the Mediterranean Sea for the ocean and the French West Indies: it's not so much Latin music, but rather sophisticated tropical new wave. On the B side we cross the U.S. of A. for some naughty Californian Hi-NRG treat, better served straight into your ear channel: "Got Headphones?". Finally we head back to Bottin's homeland and explore an Italian city well after dark. "Ok Goodnight!" Buonanotte, amiche care.

After a first edition acclaimed internationally, Favorite Recordings and Charles Maurice finally follows-up to their French Disco Boogie Sounds compilation with a second volume!!
Pursuing his fine work at digging rare music from around the world, DJ and collector Charles Maurice presents another brilliant selection of great music linked to France and French West-Indies: 12 hidden and forgotten titles, all produced between 1978 and 1985, whether in France, or by French artists abroad. This time again, he perfectly browse and defines the great energy and quality of this specific Disco/Funk scene at that time, both in the underground market, or through bigger labels.
On one hand, tracks by Crystal, Jackie Esam, Ideku Dynasty or Marc Ashy, were produced by small artists and labels from the French Caribbean and African community and also filled with a raw spirit and some Tropical influences. On the other hand, tracks by Claude Morgan, Greg Smaha, Roots, or Black Bells Group, were released by major labels such as Phonogram, RCA, Derby, or Carrere, thanks to confirmed independent producers, acting not only in France, but also in Canada and the US.
Today, Favorite Recordings and Charles Maurice are very proud to unearth these 12 gems, with amongst them some very hard to find and almost unknown titles.

Digging deep into the annals of Gospel now, the name Pastor TL Barrett should be familiar to the eagle eyed crate diggers amongst you. An extremely "colourful" character from Chicago's Southside neighbourhood who found himself on the wrong side of the law for his involvement in some activities of a dubiously illegal nature, more importantly, besides this the pastor was widely known for his community activism and positive sermons preaching love and responsibility. Shady past aside, this fantastic 1976 LP entitled "Do Not Pass Me By" is a real Gospel beauty and features 8 tracks of resplendent hands in the air rejoicement. Having never been reissued before this rare as gem is finally back out in the open, complete with it's incredible untampered with sleeve artwork and design. Barrett's unique voice and message is timeless and instantly recognisable, you can't help but become one of the congregation whilst listening to these wonderfully rousing and positive paeans to the lord almighty. Saying that, even if you find yourself to be a non-believer, the soul, funk and jazz stylings (with the odd flourish of synth!) the good pastor is laying down will be equally as alluring to those of you who dig those particular sounds. "Do Not Pass Me By" was originally released on Miami's TK Disco offshoot Gospel Roots, it's the Pastor's second release on the label and is a beautiful snapshot of how things might have gone down at his "Mount Zion Baptist Church of Universal Awareness". A unique LP with with a somewhat lo-fi charm, the tracks contained run the gamut from slow, downtempo ballads to roof raising, danceable Disco-esque anthems.
This is the first time that "Do Not Pass Me By" has been reissued on vinyl, fully remastered from Gospel Roots/TK's original tapes, represented the way the the LP was issued in 1976 with all original cover and label artworks intact. Now, almost 40 years after it's original release the album has now been made available again for 2016, fully licensed in conjunction and with the full permission of Henry Stone music / TK Disco, Miami, FL.

From its first appearance in 1978 till this day, “Happiness” has been a favorite concert-opener of the Pointer Sisters. A simmering gospelly builder, the Allen Toussaint-penned single was a throwback of sorts both in its earthy sound and in the collaboration with New Orleans legend Toussaint, who’d written “Yes We Can Can,” the Sisters’ first hit. “Happiness” barely cracked the U.S. Top 40, but found favor with soulful DJs who took to the steppers groove and uplifting lyrics. Mr. K’s edit drops the listener into to a church-like live performance that builds tension before seamlessly transitioning to the 12-inch studio mix, perfectly positioned to take the dance floor from Let’s Get Acquainted to Let’s Get Down. Synth strings sizzle as Mr. K stretches the second section; an open drum groove provides a deliciously decadent bit of tension; add a never-heard closing acapella teased by Krivit’s craftsmanship from the extended single’s breakdown, and the transformation from simple opener to subtle centerpiece of the night is complete. What songs will stick with you when the party’s through? This epic edit is a contender.
By the late ‘70s, Gene Harris, leader and pianist of jazz legends The Three Sounds, had well over 30 albums under his belt and could do whatever he wanted on a record. Fortunately for us, he chose to open his 1977 LP Tone Tantrum with a cover of Stevie Wonder’s transcendent “As.” Now a well-worn standard at Loft and Garage-influenced parties, Stevie’s version is undeniably special, but can leave veterans of the scene longing for a different angle on the classic. Enter Mr. K, who has rescued Gene Harris’s rare groove revision from obscurity and fine-tuned it for 2019 and beyond with emphasized percussion and a sinewy extension that cuts the bulk of the lyrical intro and lets Harris’s electric piano and the all-star choir shine. As the chorus steadily swells, riding stellar session singers Venetta Fields (featured on Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond”), Deneice Williams, D.J. Rogers and the Waters siblings, Krivit’s edit sails along with it, utilizing all the power of Stevie’s composition in the service of a fresh, new spin for the dance floor.

Sadly, soul diva Betty Wright left us recently, on May 10th of this year, only 66 years old.
We pay a tribute to Betty with this unique 12” release, featuring 2 of her greatest hits.
“Tonight is the night” (yes, the famous full 8 minutes live version!) appears on the “A” side of this 12”, while on the AA-side it features the 7 minutes long and easy mixable “Disco Purrfection Remix” of “Where Is The Love” by Canadian DJ DiscoCat, now however edited to perfection by Ben Liebrand at a steady 128 BPM.
”Tonight Is The Night” is taken from the (previously top10 Billboard-) album “Betty Wright Live”, which vinyl-edition will shortly be re-released with bonus tracks on the High Fashion Music label.

Soweto Soul Orchestra is produced and composed by Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse, whose importance to South-Africa's music scene can hardly be underestimated. Being a formative member of The Beaters, which was later renamed Harari, he toured Africa extensively and even hit the American charts with their "Party" single. After Harari split in 1982, Sipho went solo and scored another hit with "Burn Out", which could be heard in every township, and produced and recorded for Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba among others.
The Soweto Soul Orchestra project boasts a variety of funky tracks, all marked with that jazzy South-African sound. The stand-out tune on this one, for us, is the epic 8 minute long cosmic disco cover of "Hang em High", the original soundtrack for the eponymous classic Western movie.
This 2020 re-issue sees all tracks cut again from the official studio files, ensuring both audio quality and originality.
Originally released on and licensed through Gallo, 1981.

Psychemagik return with another freash 12 of killer edits, firstly they give Paula Cole's 'Feelin Love' a new dimension by speeding it up around 120 BPM and adding the dirtiest nastiest synth swooshes that'll have even the hardest of dancefloors bursting with sexual tension! On the flip they settle back into Balearic blissed out territory with another sunrise killer, their supreme rework of 'Wake Up Everybody' by Harold Melvin.
Their sparkly live piano solo and tight crispy drums take an already amazing track to epic new heights. Just add Yacht.

The first of three 12”s from Jamaican duo, The Pearls. Reggae Disco Rap from 1980.
The Pearls are Stanley Shaw and Norman Watson, lifelong friends who wanted to fuse Disco, Soul and Rap with Reggae. Norman Watson worked at the famed Randy’s record store in downtown Kingston, also the base for the revered V label, where he came into regular contact with label artists Fats Domino, Millie Small and Augustus Pablo. Suitably inspired he started his label Reality Hits in 1978 and not long after came a series of singles including ‘On & On’. The Pearls soon caught the ear of Sly & Robbie and went on to record an LP for their Taxi label.
The original 7” version of ‘On & On’ leads the charge on the A1, a proper reggae disco stomper with boogie piano, super charged bass and a chorus that sounds like a lost hit. The Dub Version ‘We’ll Do It’ occupies the A2 whilst on the B side Waxist, the consummate Parisian selector and compiler Julien Minarro, steps up with an extended edit that combines elements of the Original and Dub. The 12” is housed in a disco 12" themed Isle Of Jura sleeve.

Z Records unstoppable ‘Attack The Dancefloor’ series powers it’s way to its 14th Volume of remixed disco gold.
Delia Renee - You're Gonna Want Me Back (Joey Negro Disco Blend):
"You’re Gonna Want Me Back” was an all but forgotten early 80s obscurity only known to hardcore vinyl collectors. Joey Negro has got hold of the original multi and has transformed what was already a very strong song into an end of the night anthem. Delia’s vocals are classic power soulful vocal disco diva, whilst JN makes the most of the parts in the fully orchestrated live backing track.
Foreal People - Shake (Dr Packer Re-Shake):
Originally released in 1999 the Joey Negro revamp of GQ’s Chic like “Shake” features David Grant from Brit Funk act Linx on lead vocals. It's back out 20 years later with a fat funky Dr Packer remix, who drops down the bpm and adds a more dubby approach to the arrangement.
Z Factor - Gotta Keep Pushin (Grant Nelson Remix):
A classic from the ZR back catalogue gets a brand new makeover from Grant Nelson, making it an instant dancefloor hit.
Four80East & CeCe Peniston - Are You Ready (Joey Negro Redemption Mix):
Brand new gospel tinged soulful house originally produced in Toronto by live jazz funk act Four 80 East featuring the powerhouse vocals of Ce Ce Peniston. It has now been remixed by Joey Negro for release on ZR. The Redemption Mix showcases the full song which harks back to the big vocal records that came out of NY and Chicago in the late 80's/early 90s.
Another indispensable ATDF 12", destined to cause waves across dancefloors worldwide.

Italian duo Souldynamic are probably most known for their deep soulful house productions.
But this time they've taken aim at some of their fave Jazz-funk tunes and reworked them with a nudge towards the house community.
Rodney Franklin's classic 'Vibrations' and Franco Bixio's library anthem 'Break' both get superb house rubs, but without losing the organic & dynamic feel of the originals.

Mono Han are brothers Alessandro and Davide, who collectively have a deep and long understanding of electronic music. Davide is a co-founder of N.O.I.A, one of Italy’s first electronic live acts to perform and record with drum machines and synths as early as 1978. He was also behind seminal Italo outfit Klein + M.B.O and proto-house hit “Dirty Talk”. Alessandro, following in his brother’s footsteps was inevitable and he too became hooked on the incredible new sound palette emanating from the early electronic machines.
Since then they have released under an array of aliases, have clocked up numerous club hits and this project brings them back to their 80’s roots.

Giorgio Records is really proud to present the first official reissue of the experimental project GAG, from 1983, which includes two very different songs. Flyin’ Bolero is spacey and hypnotic while P.T. Dance is lively, and perfect for disco nights. Unknown and obscure, these two tracks are cataloged as Italo Disco tracks but go further. As always, Giorgio Records enriches the reissue with two remixes. Flyin’ Bolero has been entrusted to Armonics, Bari producer and great artist. P.T. Dance to Kid Machine.

Written in 2012 using just a MicroKorg and a mic, “Penguins Can’t Fly” is a magnificent slice of italo disco and a tribute to the Ghent based italo night Pingwing. It became a bit of a local underground hit which lead to Club Mayz performing it live at one of the parties at SMAK Ghent – once. The track never saw the light of day before so we’re stoked to announce this 7inch containing the original version backed with a powerful instrumental on the flip.

Diana Ross over the last two years has scored four consecutive No. 1 Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart singles – “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “I’m Coming Out/Upside Down”, “The Boss,” and now “Love Hangover 2020.” This run is a history-making feat, as each track had been a No. 1 hit during its original release. Following Miss Ross’s four No. 1 Club hits comes a full album of classic songs turned “inside out.” Produced by Diana Ross, the album features mixes by Eric Kupper, who has a total of 120 Billboard No. 1’s. Five years ago, Cute Heels brought his unique blend to Schrödinger’s Box with Nepotism. The Colombian now returns to the Glasgow label, this time with a mini-LP packed to the rim with stone cold quality.
Steady kicks give way to juddering bass and epic strings in the dynamic changeling that is “Beyond The War.” Shadows are cast by the EBM stained “Er Ist Nitch Du” and the smoky “Present Images” under the alias of Syndikat Komando Klub 98. Yet, despite these darker shades, the 12” is filled with brighter tones also. As Victor M Lenis R, “Breath of Freedom” beams with synth-disco laden lines. “Strange Forces” takes a similar path, chords shimmering against aquatic pads that bask in warmth. An italo streak enters with the playful melody and sun- soaked keys of “The Awake (Mexico City Mix), radiant notes countered by strong pulsing percussion.
Beyond The War is a record as diverse as its creator. Traversing a spread of styles, Cute Heels has created a 12” that blurs perceived genres whilst maintaining the energy and zeal of the club.

The first release on Kon's, new KonTemporary imprint.. sees the crate diggin selector, producer and remixer extraordinaire reworking George Duke's late 70s jewel "I Want You for Myself."
Kon's masterful arrangement highlights the desirous pleas of lead vocalist Lynn Davis while showcasing the very ahead of its time instrumentation (there are even hints of Larry Heard to be heard here) of Mr. Duke's musical masterpiece Carefully breaking down and building up the arrangement, Kon even pulls out previously unheard vocal gems from George Duke himself hidden in the original stems giving the listener a glimpse of the studio vibe during its recording.. This release also boasts the original version taken directly from the studio masters of the highly sought after 12". All in all floor stomping disco magic from one of the world's best remixers further sonically enhanced by Boston native Caserta on the mix.

This first EP is inspired by earlier prodcutions adding in the mix today’s codes and references.
Listening to the EP, one can hear samples and Lo-Fi works as well as the sound of mythical machines like the TR909 and TB303.
For this first realease, we have been eager to put the spotlight on artists we strongly believe in, who are rising talents
of the French House music scene: Madcat, who is often featured on the Pont Neuf label, and Deborah Aime La Bagarre
who is close to the Parisian crew Vryche House.
The artists and founding members Basile de Suresnes and Ten Fingerz complete the roster.
