Yards are a 4 piece hardcore band from London which started life five years ago as the second band of all it's members (Ex-Ghost of a Thousand, Astrohenge, Econo, Nitkowski ) before accidentally becoming the primary focus of their creative energy.

After putting out 2 EPs in quick succession, the band took a year out to write and record 'Excitation Thresholds'. Recorded with Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios over a period of two weeks in the dead of winter, the album rattles through crusty thrash, artful noise, dirge rock to neo-classical drones, all in just over 30 minutes. If you needed a statement of intent from a hardcore band in 2017, you need look no further.

'Excitation Thresholds' takes you on an uneasy and dissonant journey that is awash with a range of influences, from its 'You Fail Me'-esque guitar tones that run throughout the record, to the use of eerie vocal effects on tracks like 'Bail Recommendation'. There are moments of doom-laden, bleakness and even clean, Radiohead-tinged passages. Yards have clearly developed what they presented on their EPs, and the result is in one of the most exciting and confident albums we have released to date.

At the outset of forming Truthseeker Music, one of our biggest wishes was to release a record by Yards, having been fans of both of their previously self released EPs, we jumped at the chance to work with the band. We are immensely proud to be releasing 'Excitation Thresholds', which we hope you will agree is nothing short of phenomenal, and almost unquestionably the most enthralling debut album of any band this year.

Demon Fuzz was an afro-rock group of which its members had all immigrated to Britain from Commonwealth countries. The band's name means devil's children or bad policemen'. They originally played soul, but the music they heard during a trip to Morocco lead to a change in their style to what has been described as a blend of funk, rock, jazz and African music.

Demon Fuzz these days are amongst the most bootlegged and sampled bands from the early 70s British underground. This re-release, which includes the stunning and rare EP that at the time was released along with the album, tells the band's full story
for the first time ever.

All tracks were credited to Ray Rhoden and W. Raphael Joseph, except for the second track, which was credited to W. Mitchel and Paddy Corea. Corea was also credited with all arrangements'. It was a Billboard 4-STAR' selection in June 1971.

Less Art is the alliance of brothers Riley and Ed Breckenridge of Thrice, Ian Miller and Jon Howell of Kowloon Walled City, and Mike Minnick of Curl Up and Die. On Strangled Light, these five veterans bash out their own new version of post-hardcore - "post-hardcore by post-youths" is how they cheekily describe themselves, but this music is dead serious. The musicianship is world-class, the perspective is world-weary, the sound is fresh and urgent and crackling with feeling.

Strangled Light's nine songs add up to a modern, muscular incarnation of the vibe set forth years ago by bands like Fugazi, Unwound, and Drive Like Jehu. Like those bands, Less Art rages - emotionally-charged and electrifying - yet also knows how to wield dynamics as a weapon. The lulls make the peaks even sharper.

Mike Blaha of Minneapolis freak-punks THE BLIND SHAKE is currently recording solo as BLAHA. As a follow up to his brilliant and moody debut 2017 LP "The Art of Not," Slovenly Recordings is proud to present the "Fresh Horse" EP, and since we aren't exactly known for "moody" releases, we've selected only the most intimidating tracks from his repertoire. Blaha spews two fuzzy, snarling pounders on the top deck, and a surfed-out & melodic strum job on the flip that recalls some of our favorite moments from Blind Shake's "Fly Right" LP.

The EP was recorded at Electrical audio in Chicago by Steve Albini. Talking on the new record and working with Steve Albini, Frank Iero says "When we were done touring 'STOMACHACHES.', I talked to my manager, Paul, about what we should do. I had my bucket list and one of the things on there was to work with Steve Albini. Paul asked how long I'd wanted to work with Steve and I was like, 'Since I was, like, eleven!' I wanted to make a Steve Albini record! Paul said he'd call him and I was like, 'You can't do that... that would be weird. Don't do it.' And he was like, 'That's my job!' He called him, Steve said he could do it and he had three days. Next phone call I made was U-Haul, I fuckin' packed the U-Haul up and drove the band to Chicago. I got to record an EP with my friends and one of my heroes in this, like, giant firehouse building in Chicago. The EP is this missing link between 'STOMACHACHES.' and 'Parachutes'. It's everything I wanted it to be. It's fuckin' awesome!'

Black Gladiator and Slovenly are back with another archival 60s punk release, this time from an impossibly rare Delta, Pennsylvania 45 by SITES N' SOUNDS. Gigging from Baltimore to York to Hershey in the mid-60s, including an appearance on Baltimore's Kerby Scott TV program, Sites n' Sounds were students at Kennard-Dale High School when they recorded this absolutely genius single at Courier Recordings studio in Fremont, MD, releasing it on Ohio's CEI Records label in 1967. We dug up this 45 towards the end of 2016, listened to it about 100 times in a row that evening, and began researching the band the next day, which resulted in locating organ player Mike McFadden in our own backyard. He provided insanely cool band photos - two of which are reprinted in full color for the 7inch insert. When we alerted Crypt Records honcho Tim Warren to the discovery, he declared it an "unknown MONSTER mooder!" and applied his loving and astute mastering touch for re-release. We couldn't be more proud to present this haunting teenbeat single to the world 50 years later.

- Tim Buckley possessed a golden voice that spanned the range from baritone to tenor. More importantly, he knew what to do with it.

And Hello, three songs from Happy Sad,one song that later appeared on Blue Afternoon ( Happy Time'), andanother that was recorded
much later on Sefronia ( Dolphins',written by Fred Neil). It also contains six pieces that were never recorded elsewhere - The Troubadour', I've Been Out Walking', Who Do You Love', The Earth Is Broken', Wayfaring Stranger' and Carnival Song/Hi-Lili Hi-Lo'.
- Buckley was accompanied by his guitarist Lee Underwood and vibraphone player David Friedman, along with Pentangle's Danny Thompson on bass, hired for the occasion.
- Originally released as a 2 LP set by Demon in 1990, this legendary concert is now presented on 3 LPs. The inner sleeves feature a lengthy essay by Lee Underwood, as well as the lyrics to every song.
