Breaching is the debut album from Leeds-based, 6-piece, post-metallers Hundred Year Old Man. Hot on the heels of recent EP Rei, Breaching emitsthe same heaving intensity and unforgiving, wall of sound approach. Dense and billowing riffs are intertwined with field recordings and spoken word passages to form an unyielding, sprawling piece of work that delivers the bands artistic vision perfectly. The more ambient, drone sections of the record compliment and allow the real songs to take flight. Debut single Black Fire is reworked to give the track a new lease of life, whilst the other heavy hitters here; The Forest, Long Wall, Disconnect and Ascension are a continuation of the excellent work found on the Rei EP. The Hare, The Moon, The Drone' is the third album from Jacob Yates. This recording finds the band exploring dark hawthorn hedged lanes, moors and suburban, new build estates. There's something more earthy about the songs but the menace and darkness remains. Musically there is a big shift on this album, a field recording of a folk band from a dark, pine filled glen. The opener, The Car sets the scene for the rural side of the album, dank and stone cold. The tracks then shift through the woods, people turn into animals, we pass a sunlit glade, do you hear a love song Cassie Ezeji closes the side sweetly lamenting in Gaelic as the snow falls.

Side two is a more urban affair opening with despair in a bedroom in Belgium, we visit a faith healer and drop in on your lonely mother. Lovatt recounts the story of a karaoke addicted murderer before we finally go home to our new build just outside of town where the pylons tower over Michael and his sister Rachel. It's a journey you can go on, looking out of the window of the bus, glimpses of lives glide by, cards on seats promise to help you. Ding! It's time to get off.

97 debut album from renowned skateboard rider Guerrero takes off on a fusionistic ride of acid jazz, trip hop, rock and downtempo groove.

This is one of the lesser known titles by Tommy Guerrero, instead of the more indie Rock or Post/Experimental-Rock sounds that made "A little Bit of Something" or "Hoy Yen Ass'n", such accomplished albums have largely been abandoned, in favour of something a little more subtle, studied and more akin to his Puerto Rican roots.
This is, by and large, a vastly stripped back affair compared to his later albums, with the acoustic guitar featuring prominently in virtually all the songs, with subtlety, and refinement, this feels like a improvised session between him and his group of musician friends that has been beautifully recorded and keep for prosperity. This is (apart from a couple of vocal tracks) a most instrumental album, with a super-laid back feel, that mixes simply devised melodies with hints of Blues/Funk, yet the prominence of a strong Cuban/Latin artistic approach run strong throughout the album.

Vision of Disorder is an American band which releases albums both in the hardcore punk direction as in the alternative metal scene. The five-piece group worked together with producer D. Sardy (Red Hot Chili Peppers) to record their second album Imprint. In the new wave of American heavy metal they recorded one of their best albums. With the terrific vocals of Tim Williams, alternating between clean singing and screaming, and the trashy riffs the album gets an aggressive look. But there are also plenty of melodic parts in which they shows their versatility. Tracks like "Colorblind" and "By the River" are both brutal as beautiful.

Since Vision of Disorder reunited in 2008 they're hitting the road again with their hardcore an metal music.

Long Island's AIR only made one album. As solitary statements go, it's exceptional. Divinely elevated by Googie Coppola's beautiful voice, this transcendent masterpiece of soulful jazz-rock fusion has become increasingly tricky to track down. 45 years on from its initial release, Be With Records finally make it available again on vinyl.

The highlights are many and memorable. From the irresistible groove of "Mr. Man" to the heavenly piano vocal of "Jail Cell", from the funk-fuelled brass breaks in "Man Is Free" to the haunting, unforgettable "Sister Bessie", it is easy to understand why this record has been long revered amongst aficionados.

Yet the entire record is without weakness and, therefore, selecting standout tracks seems redundant. If ever there was an album to surrender to in full, this is it. A perfect blend of rock and jazz, the record's greatest asset is surely Googie's uniquely expressive voice - the like of which we'll never hear again.

Much like the music contained within, the original jacket was a thing of total beauty, presented as a lavish gatefold with a distinctive die-cut logo on the front flap. Accordingly, in keeping with the quality of all Be With reissues, this has been painstakingly recreated, along with the original liner notes. Sonically, Simon Francis' dextrous mastering adds real clarity and muscle throughout and, as ever, it has been pressed at a reassuringly weighty 180g.

Treasured by 'selector' luminaries such as Jeremy Underground, MCDE, Floating Points and Hunee, this startling record is beloved by everyone who has heard it. Our treasure trove filled with Belgian gold nuggets is far from empty. Just six months after the initial launch of our compilation series, volume 2 is set to drop in late May.
Part one of Belgian Nuggets 90s-00s was a smash hit. We chalked up rave reviews both at home and abroad (Knack Focus, Humo, Het Nieuwsblad, De Morgen, De Volkskrant (NL), OOR (NL), The Wire (UK), etc.) and even famous Dutch writer Nico Dijkshoorn sung our praises in a column.
Of course, all the accolades were just another impetus to outdo ourselves with volume 2. Whereas volume one was a blend of many different genres - from heavy guitars across Brit and synth pop to hard electro beat, mellow soul and cabaret - our second instalment will have the feel of a genuine album, albeit without abandoning the treasure hunt vibe that characterises the series.
Several big names were gracious enough to contribute to this sophomore release such as Dead Man Ray, Mauro Pawlowski, Vive La Fête and Lunascape (with ex-Hooverphonic singer Kyoko Baertsoen). Simi Nah, Paper Fox and the Walloons of Piano Club - with Melanie De Biasio's twin sister Melanie on the mic - serve up sublime electro pop, whereas Barbie Bangkok, De Bossen, Black Shark, Basics and Party At Vanzetti's (the band of Bart Vanneste, aka Freddy Devadder) cater to guitar and edgy (garage) rock enthusiasts.
We've also included squeaky clean pop songs by Sugar Kane and Red Elmo, pining indie pop gems by The Germans and Confuse The Cat, laid back, nightclubby jazz pop by Stuffed Babies On Wheels and a majestic 'Air-meets-Moby' instrumental by Delavega.The only Dutch-speaking song on the record is the exquisite avant-garde track 'Ten Dans' by De Legende, a project by Elvis Peeters (ex-Arome Di Amore), who has meanwhile made a name for himself as a writer. And finally we are particularly proud to introduce the fantastic cult single 'Constant (Raving)' by the mysterious Sue Daniels, the kind of song that perfectly captures the essence and the raison d'être of Belgian Nuggets 90s-00s.
Like volume one, this second instalment of the series boasts a unique design and detailed liner notes. Once again we were lucky enough to snare a renowned photographer: Amongst others, Frieke Janssens is famous for 'Smoking Kids' and 'The Sweetest Taboo' (exhibition in London early 2018).

1999 debut album under its original name, 'Abducted at Birth'. When the album was first released, the name was changed to 'Abducting the Unicorn' by the label, Cyclops Records, in order to create a connection with the previous

band headed by TPT's frontman Bruce Soord - Vulgar Unicorn. Featuring strong melodies and powerful choruses, this early post-progressive album is an insight in to Soord's songwriting talent and the birth of one of the

UK's leading progressive bands in 2017. 'Abducted at Birth', newly remastered by The Pineapple Thief keyboardist Steve Kitch, will be released as a double LP presented in a wide spine packaging. The cover art has been completely

updated, using fan submitted photography to explore the new theme of 'Abducted at Birth', to startling effect.

Having grown up with and on the internet, Martin Steer (1986) has transformed its pull into a concept album that is just as immediate and intangible as the digital world. Bad Stream is guitars and machines vanishing in the spaces between Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails only to reemerge amidst Ambient, Noise, and Drone. Bad Stream, then, is his modus operandi - a hybrid soundtrack to the feelings of resignation, isolation, and cynicism within neoliberal cyberspace and to that strangely numbing comfort of bodies transmuting into zeros and ones in real time.
'I look at my phone even when I play guitar,' says Martin Steer, 'and that isn't even entirely voluntary. The 2010s really changed my perception of how digital technologies and social media affect me as a musician. Through Bad Stream I want to make sense of this particular kind of anxiety, and to use sensory overstimulation as a way to develop an independent and progressive musical language.'
The past seven years took Martin and his laptop and guitar from Berlin to Mexico and Nepal and, as a founding member of Frittenbude, into the German charts and to various festival stages. And yet, Bad Stream is a true 'Berlin album,' out of Friedrichshain, Neukölln, and Kreuzberg and will be released on Martin Steers own label ANTIME. It was recorded with real drums and programmed beats, with shoegaze guitars, acid baselines, piano, smartphone synths, violins, field recordings from the darknet and his voice, whose hopeless timbre conveys reflections on systems, the future, drugs, people, and his own place. In his ever expanding A/V live shows and in the music videos, this is supplemented by complex visuals.

 Age Of Paranoia, the latest chapter in the band's lineage, was recorded by Igor Wouters at ARC Studios in Amsterdam, and includes several special guest guitar solos by J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr., Witch) and Bubba Dupree (Void, Soundgarden, Dave Grohl's Probot, Brant Bjork).  

Age Of Paranoia offers sixteen volatile tracks, packed into a succinct, white-knuckled twenty-eight minutes. The album surges with rapid-fire punk angst, replete with ripping rock leads and raised-fist, group-chanting anthems.

Is Let it Burn the greatest Goat track the band have ever made The band think it is the best song they have written. The label have not
stopped going on about it since they heard it. And now you can listen to Let it Burn when it is released as a ltd edition 7' single on 25 May. Let it Burn was written specifically for the climatic scene in the short movie Killing Gävle, a The Guardian produced film directed by the very talented Joe Fletcher about the famous Gävle Goat in Sweden which every year local custodians of Gävle try to protect a giant straw goat that is built for the town every Christmas being burnt down by mischievous pagans. Obviously Goat's music was the obvious to soundtrack the film - their back catalogue is used throughout the film but up to now it was the only place you could hear a segment of the 6 minute+ fuzz groove of Let it Burn but now thanks to Rocket Recordings it can be heard in all its glory. Not only that, but you get a brand new b-side, and like most recent Goat b-sides it reveals another exploratory sound to the bands'world music'. Friday Pt.1 is a 4 minute excerpt from an organically evolving, cosmic-jazz, studio jam. The ltd 7' comes in 3 exclusive colours, each ltd to 400 copies; 'yellow flame' vinyl, 'orange flame' vinyl and 'red flame vinyl' and these will be randomly distributed around the world. Goat play two shows this summer, supporting Foo Fighters at Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium on 5 June and they will be headlining Stage 2 at London's Citadel Festival on 15 July.

Four years after the last album of unreleased return the Modena City Ramblers album: "Hands like branches, roots to feet", to be released on March 10, on CD and vinyl in a limited edition. In this new adventure in the studio the Ramblers do everything themselves, with the exception of a unique collaboration of enormous prestige: the American band Calexico, which enhances the flavors desert ballad "Ghost Town", anointed landing between morriconiani horizons, Celtic and gypsies. The disc title is metaphorical and well represents the feeling of the Ramblers towards life and their artistic career: his hands and arms that embrace, welcome, looking, walking and roots that hold tight, hold and recall. The desire to know and meet, musically experiment and weave styles and languages. Something which occurs frequently in the history of the band, of which this training is the longest with 7 years and 5 albums under and over 500 concerts

By the start of the 1980s, following a string of multi-Platinum albums and electric live performances - due in no small part to the onstage chemistry between guitarist Eddie Van Halen and singer David Lee Roth - Van Halen were an unstoppable force. Their 1982 album Diver Down followed peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard chart and went four times Platinum in the U.S. alone. In support of the album, the group toured worldwide through 1982 and 1983. 1983 would also be the first and only time the group would travel to South America, and it is from this leg of the tour that the show featured on this release originates. Recorded at the first of three dates at Venezuela's 20,000-capacity Poliedro de Caracas, the performance was broadcast simultaneously over FM radio. On top form and playing a rich selection from their current and back catalogue - including '(Oh) Pretty Woman', 'Eruption' and 'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love' among numerous other Halen classics - this extraordinary show is now finally available for fans of this enduring collective to add to their collections.
