On his new EP for The Magic Movement, Rio de Janeiro's own Carrot Green blends Brazilian Music, House and Techno to generate his own exceptional dancefloor gem.
Already proven in the Brazilian Shakedown series plus more stunning releases, this extraordinary producer knows his trade. The title track 'Danca das Criancas' features Brazilian spoken word, chanting and slightly peculiar synth chords enhanced with a strong House Beat. Following is the remix by Oceanvs Orientalis, who turns the tune into a hypnotic and bass heavy listening adventure.Flip it around and trip out on 'Duress (Psyche Mix)'. David Hanke (aka Renegades of Jazz, Dem Juju Poets, Keno u.v.m) Landet auf Homeless Soul Music mit reichlich afro-driven deep house goodness. Der Titeltrack "Engira Road" rollt mit deepen, stampfenden Drums, unterlegt mit supertiefem Bass, während die hypnotisierenden Rhodes lines den ganzen Track in eine soulvolle Athmosphäre heben.
Abgerundet wird der Release mit "Impala Roundabout" - Heavy broken beat deep house, mit pulsierendem Bass, cleverer Perkussion und Afrikanischen Vocals.

Portland label Dark Leader returns with three tracks plucked from deep within the underground. Acid Farm, a local Portland duo, kicks things off on side A with 'Bala 303,' a retro acid piece that embodies the spirit of ritual dance. Next, Kaliningrad's Muzikalist brings us 'Acid Disco Valley,' a track that builds and builds to a frenzied reawakening of your inner raver. Then on the B side a remix by the one and only Black Merlin. His take on 'Bala 303' drags your newly awakened monster into the darkest reaches of the unknown. Dark Leader 002 is housed in a full color jacket featuring both artwork and design by Eric Adrian Lee, and mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk.

'One In A Million' leads with a bright 90's garage house beat reminiscent of Disclosure before breaking into the kind of danceable indie-pop swagger that will excite fans of LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip. Replete with remixes from Zomby and Playgroup this 12² sets a precednt for Olsson 12" release where he kindly asks his heros to reimagine his work. In this case two of Electrtonic musics most exciting and consistent names step up.

On Kings Chambers sixth release Samo DJ brings his cheap Streetboxx sampler to Hidden Operators studio and they team up for some dancehall beat making and live mixing under the (obvious) name Streetboxxer.

Samo DJs releases on labels like L.I.E.S, The Trilogy Tapes, and of course his own Born Free label. But this ragga infused EP will not come as a surprise for those who have heard his excellent dancehall mix for Red Light Radio earlier this year.

Bitter Moon has criss-crossed Europe to gather a trio of heavy House hitters for Lunes De Fiel Vol. 2. Creme Organization prodigy Innershades gets the show on the road with the synth slamming groove of "Moments of Euphoria". New Beat memories bounce alongside rumbling rhythms in track guaranteed to ignite speakers. Next stop is Germany with Snuff Crew and "Your Hands". The Jack experts fillet their trademark raw edges for a smooth and soulful piece of late night Chitown. Smoke curls around chords, claps are softened as samples turn in a twilight haze. The final destination, Italy, is bathed in the 303 sunshine of "#Acid". The White Rabbit Recordings founder uses the building blocks of Chicago to produce a fluid floor filler. Cymbals, cow-bells, toms and snares are soaked in a devilish brew of Acid. Bohemian body jerk to a 4/4 beat to bring down the curtain on this latest instalment of Lunes De Fiel.

Bookworms drops cut after cut on his debut album Xenophobe. This double LP delivers 7 tracks showcasing some of his best material to date, and after listening to the title track we know Xenophobe is not going to be an average 12'. Hold it down is a disco ish track that utilizes very smooth and soul touching elements that are built around various piano variations and a beautiful break with percussion in the fashion of Shuggie Otis Aht uh mi Hed .

Central Bank is keeping up the pace with a very hazy atmosphere and amazing vocals which ooze throughout. Very musical and warm. 135th is a piano track that again strikes the right chord for mellow week-ends in a park. Wayactive is closing down this extended effort with euphoric synths and uplifting chords.

Following his 2015 release 's/t', Ant Orange is back with another groove-laden 12' on Karaoke Kalk. 'Arkupe' is a prime slice of laid-back beats and bass-heavy jazz breaks.

Istanbul based 'Roit' drop their latest EP 'Music Sounds Good', a split work featuring the label head Ave Astra and Ireland's up and coming talent Embezzlement Society.

Roit's manifest declares that the Turkish record label looks out to Detroit with respect. Their sound goes way beyond the borders of the Motor City, mixing UK friendly grooves with Paradise Garage's Disco Edits and with something that sounds like a mix of Gene Hunt and Enzo Siragusa.. Their innovative and multicultural approach to dance music is perfectly showcased by this latest EP 'Music Sounds Good' which features 2 artists pretty active on different fronts. On one side there is Roit's head Ave Astra, who is soon to be releasing on Moscoman's Disco Halal and on the other there is Banoffee Pie Records contributor Embezzlement Society.

Ave Astra's title track is a powerful proper Disco cut: club friendly, hands in the air. A2 is a more stomping but still uplifting House cut, NYC garage inspired rhythmical parts, in your face kick, melodic pads a pure dance floor banger. On the B side Embezzlement Society produce 2 darker party tunes: 'Glad Your Mine' merges sampled guitars and vocals with a relentless beat while 'Westside Rumble' fuses Detroit and London, grooves and bassline, drops and enormous hi hats. It's party time.

TIM RIVERS - KINFOLK - A truly beautiful album and hard to choose to a favourite. My radio show on Brighton FM will be really suited to the style of this album. Looking forward to play it!

HNNY returns to Omena with 'Ta Paus', the long awaited return since the Grammy award winning debut album 'Sunday', released in 2015. Since the first release on Studio Barnhus back in 2011 Johan 'HNNY' Cederberg has had a prolific output and released his music on several labels such as Local Talk, Let's Play House & Permanent Vacation.In 2013 he set up his own label Yummy and Puss together with Kornel Kovacs.

Phonica Records Special Editions in association with Play It Again Sam is delighted to present the incredible Quiet Village remix of Agnes Obel's 'Stretch Your Eyes', lifted from the Danish born, Berlin based singer songwriter's critically acclaimed 3rd studio album 'Citizen of Glass' .

Obel was at an early age guided into music by the influence of her parents, who would play and listen to a blend of the classical greats, folk music and contemporary pop. She learnt to play piano as a child but it was her move to Berlin in 2006 that prompted her to take her music to the next level. Her debut Philharmonics was released in 2010, a quiet phenomenon that spent seven consecutive weeks at number 1 and sold in excess of 100,000 copies in her homeland alone. The release of 'Aventine' in 2013 cemented her status as a household name across Europe and as an icon to piano players throughout the world.

Quiet Village are the British duo of long-time record-collector and DJ Joel Martin and Matt Edwards, the house and techno producer known as Radio Slave and the head of the Rekids label. They came to our attention with a series of highly sought after twelves on the DJ Harvey-related Whatever We Want label from New York, alongside excellent remixes of The Osmonds, Toby Tobias, Black Devil Disco Club and Francois K before releasing their acclaimed album on K7 Records in 2008. After a break from using the Quite Village name, the duo are back with a bang and recently graced the Phonica White label with a fantastic techno 12' 'Social Music' / 'Change'.

Needless to say, Quiet Village were the first producers Phonica thought of when looking for remixes for this project and their slow, dark, dub-heavy atmospheric groove perfectly compliments Agnes's vocal, with echoes of Massive Attack's timeless 'Teardrops' coming to mind. It's one of the finest remixes we've heard in recent memory and we're proud to present it as a limited 12' on the Special Editions label.

Eliphino's Joy in Repetition imprint presents Will Lister's sophomore release, "Space to Breathe". After a solid introduction to the world on Phonica Records in 2015, this EP finds Will in strident form displaying production acumen that belies /beyond his 20 years. Floating around the 110bpm mark, there are prominent elements of jazz, hip hop and house music. His production efforts create a warm ethereal atmosphere cut with a tough percussive edge.
This prodigious young producer has a great deal of talent and will be someone you'll hear a lot more about in the coming years.

Field Records welcomes a new name into the fold with its next EP. That name is Kiyoko, and it pertains to the UK duo of Jack Lever and Joe McBride. After albums and EPs on Auxiliary and Samurai Horo, they now offer up four more ambient electronic cuts that again suspend you in a blissful sonic world.

After the first release on Subfield and the joint EP with fellow Belgian DC Salas, "Until You're Worth It" (SF003) now sees Mugwump collaborating with Norwegian disco godfather Päl Nyhus from Mungolian Jetset (Smalltown Supersound) & Tore Gjedrem from killer duo Ost & Kjex (Diynamic). They both provide eerie Prince-like vocals for a slice of psychedelic funk-pop that is the first excerpt from Mugwump's brilliant forthcoming debut album (entitled "Unspell" and scheduled for release on 22.03.2015). This song about commitment, failure and hope of selfimprovement is a departure from Mugwump's full-on club sound and ventures in the realms of modern pop. To keep hing balanced and party-related, the release comes with a fantastic mid-tempo chugger from UK Dance supremo Andrew Weatherall. Andrew has championed most of Mugwump's output over the years and has even taken the mic on this version, delivering a few additionnal vocals onto his brilliant remix. Another Mugwump acquaintance, Mark E has commited to support the release too, with TWO mind-bending mixes, the first being included here. This 3rd release on Subfield marks the beginning of yet another chapter in Mugwump's music odyssey that will bring a new album, a live show and some new original videos.

It has not taken long for International Major Label to shake the next pearl out of the console: a sparkling spherical, retro-futuristic wink of the eye in which three spiritual brothers have joined their musical hands together in the airwaves with label head, Daniel Meuzard aka Feater, and two of the top notch remixers around : Tuff City Kids with Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer. Their extraterrestrial instinct and a kilometer-long discography justifies developing dedicated schools of philosophy. But after 30 seconds at the latest when the bass line rocks through the kicks and congas, the - Bright White Shoes' remix unfolds a magical attraction as if from another galaxy. With the smash hit - Digital Love', the remix seems to rise almost lethargically above the mist of night. The upcoming Viennese Wunderkind, Guiseppe Leonardi, rumbles through the catacombs between slow-tech and calimba. As expected for an underground producer, nothing is known about this gentleman; only that for months, he has been releasing dope tracks into the world and will finally give his official debut in October - on International Major Label. Preorder! It is difficult to reach a fitting end for this release, unless done by Ruutu Poiss, aka Jan Tomson. This hyped-up multi-talent, (Denkmantel Set 2017 & 12' release on Jon Rust's Levels) conjures up a mysterious and playful odysee with Feater's - Birds' and meanders between Düsseldorf, London and Detroit. Tomson is not only a gifted producer but also one of the most important designers in Estonia and responsible for the IML logo and diverse IML covers.
