Celebrating the label's 25th anniversary, Far Out Recordings presents a series of limited edition vinyl 12"s highlighting its contribution to underground dance music. Including reissues of sought-after floor fillers, previously unreleased club tools and brand-new productions from some key players in Far Out history, the series begins with Global Communication's 'Space Jazz' remix of Azymuth's 'Jazz Carnival'.

One of the label's most requested reissues, it's a typically timeless effort from the duo comprising Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton and has stayed relevant within the house/techno canon for over twenty years. The A side presents the original LP version of Azymuth's 1996 redux of their all-time classic, instrumental disco hit 'Jazz Carnival', which originally appeared on Azymuth's first full-length venture on Far Out, Carnival (1996).

Presented in a special 25th anniversary house bag, the full-length 12-minute version of this all time classic has been re-mastered from the original DAT and pressed to heavyweight vinyl.

Here’s something that will get your senses tingling: a 4-track release by Colombia’s number one house prodigy: Felipe Gordon. His ‘Highly conductive rhythms’ EP has the talented producer showcasing the depths of his sound with classy compositions ranging from jazzy deep house to funky acid.

Felipe is someone who you might call a prolific producer: he’s had 6 releases last year on labels like Shall not Fade, Local Talk, Lost Palms and Toy Tonics and this year he’s already dropped a handful of releases including his spectacular album “A landscape onomatopeya”. Despite this crazy release schedule, Felipe has made sure to deliver a stunning record for Heist, something he’s been dreaming of ever since he started making music.

The lush opener ‘Highly smooth tone’ features the jazzy work of Cuban horn player Julio Rigal, who delivers a sublime performance with his crackling trumpet work reminiscent of St. Germain’s 2001 album ‘Tourist’. There’s a deep bass and fine synth work to give the track some weight, which balances out perfectly with the chopped keys and loose drums.

‘Highly deep and conductive’ takes things even deeper. It’s warm pads and crunchy sub bass support a snare loop that feels like a marching band on its way to the nearest club. The subtle vocal chops (You’re gonna miss my love) are on point in defining the melancholic character of the track. The mid-track arpeggio and bumpy synth hits make for a perfect changeover in a track that breathes deep house to the fullest.

On the flip, Felipe delivers the acid drum workout ‘Highly corrosive acid’. This might seem like unfamiliar territory for the producer, if it wouldn’t have been so expertly crafted. We can almost feel the sweat dripping off the walls of the clubs this will be played in. If this is acid Felipe Gordon style, please give us more.

The final track of the EP is ‘Highly rhythmic pace’: a classic bumpy deep house track with chopped keys, bells, chants and a fair amount of grunt in the bass. This is a groovy finish to a well-crafted and amazingly varied EP. We’re glad Felipe got to release on Heist and this might well be the start of something great.

Yore welcomes IBEX to the Yore Family. Tony Ollivierra aka Ibex, who is no stranger at all to the world of Detroit House music, known for his outstanding releases on Carl Craigs Planet E or his hot gems on 3rd Ear and Rushhour, returns in full effect on our 26th release.

Roots Underground is at its 6th release, with this new sophisticated EP.
A collab between italian producer, but Berlin based, Luca Murgia a.k.a. TWO THOU and the jazz ensemble HOBBY HORSE, composed by Dan Kinzelman, Joe Rehmer and Stefano Tamborrino.

Feats are very present throughout the whole record, like in the exotic broken beat opener THE CHASE (A1), where Eric Demuro bass licks intertwine with Kinzelman's flute and Two Thou beats.
INDIA SCI-FI (A2) is a sultry ambient painting, enriched by balearic flavours, courtesy of Mike Matias, sending the listener in a dreamy altered state.
The B side opens with a collaborative rework, CASCADE (B1) by Two Thou with Brooklin's Eric Porter, better known as Afrikan Sciences of an already released track by HOBBY HORSE (Helm, 2018)
Porter lays the drums and Two Thou morphs the hypnotic double bass/bass clarinet loop in a solid organic "house" track, with deep and dubby vibes, that will be appreciated by picky clubgoers everywhere.
The EP includes also the original version of CASCADE ( B2)

MELANGE returns with it's fifth outing. This time Label head Earl Jeffers teams up with friend and all round don K15. A 3 tracker, all with different influences and feels, from Bruk to library tinged hip hop and then some!!

You know Munk probably from the songs he did with James Murphy, Peaches, Asia Argento or one of many other indie disco tracks he released on his former label Gomma. Gomma now is sleeping and since Mathias Munk Modica started the Toy Tonics label with his friends Manu Kim & Mo Butschek he hasn’t released many things under that name. Instead has been playing keyboards, bass and drums on many tracks of other artists on the TT label. And of course has been building up the TT imprint from his new home in Berlin.
Now it’s summer and it felt right to put out a few balearic remixes reworks of Munk tracks. Beach party and daytime disco vibe. So here u get reworks of Munk’s friends Severino from Horse Meat Disco, Lauer, and Kai Alce from Detroit. Right for this summer.

Underground Trip Vol. 1 is the first vinyl realease by artist Carmine Cioppa aka Sleepover for Klebmusic label.
On side A it features two nice versions of Beatz and Pieces. The first one is a very clubby banger that contains classic house vocal samples on a great bassy modern beat. Loud!
A2 is a hypnotic drumbeat flavored with an old school punchy piano that finds its way into a drop, to chill for a second, and then make everybody jump up and scream when the drums build up to start booming again, for younger crowds.
So far, real dancefloor, and we could think it is already enough for this 12'' to be bought right away. But it's when we listen to the flip side that we find the real nice surprise: Deep In The Underground is a wondefully laid track that really reminds us of the 90s club sound of epic labels like Bassline and BiG BiG Trax.
On this beautiful classy tune, organ, background samples, bass and rhythm section melt into a very special old fashioned atmosphere that takes us back in time, and the piano solo by Sep Sarno gives it a great passionate touch.
Jazzy, groovy, sturdy classic deep house with a very modern finish that will always be a gem. Timeless.

This excerpt of Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" sets the mood for the latest album of Sardinian sound researcher Eugenio Caria. "In Origine: The Field of Repentance" is a concept album dealing with the origin of man and its impact on the cycle of creation and destruction which drives the evolution of the universe. This time Caria invited one of the world's major trumpeters, prolific Sardinian jazz artist Paolo Fresu to collaborate on the album. Fresu's unique trumpet sound is recognized as one of the most distinctive in the contemporary jazz scene and on this album Caria and Fresu succeed in perfectly merging their contributions into a coherent entity. Fresu is not accompanying Caria and Caria is not accompanying Fresu. Instead they both drive each others plays, building and rebuilding, forming and reforming meticulous pieces of analogue-electronic music that invoke the feeling of a pure timelessness.

After the success of their debut album in 2018, Kermesse again teams up for some finishing touches with Noema as a co-producer and delivers a stunning new EP for The Magic Movement.

The 4-tracker kicks off with 'Marimba' that gets you right in the mood, featuring Kermesse's trademark sound of minimal beats, dubby synths, and South American percussion.

The title track 'Awake' shifts the mood into a more playful and funky side, featuring Pedro's sleazy vocals, syncopated keys and jazzy drum fills. Caution: Sing-along-alert!!!

On the flipside, Label head honcho Noema turns 'Awake' into a hell of an anthem, taking the listener with his submarine remix from the depths of the pacific ocean to a blissful balearic ending.

'Images' picks up the balearic vibe and closes the EP with dreamy sunset house vibes.

Caruso returns to Ten Lovers Music with ‘Memories’ – an effervescent Ron Trent leaning deep house excursion featuring producer, flautist and brass player Paul David Gillman, who’s affiliated with Joe Claussell’s imminent Sacred Rhythm label.
On the flip-side Gillman twists the original into pure future jazz territory over a trance-inducing 12 minutes. ... Magical!

Meet Me On The Corner is taken from the band's sophomore album, Orange Whip, which itself was BBC 6Music's Album of The Day on its release. It follows previous singles Whatever You Do and Sinner, which garnered support from Craig Charles, Tom Ravenscroft and Huey Morgan. The song showcases Honeyfeet at their funkiest and chunkiest. A pounding beat beefed up by bass, guitar and brass propels forward while Rioghnach Connolly sings lyrics that could be straight out of the playground, but suggest something deeper, possibly mystical even, in its demands for a dalliance on the street.

Remixes on this more foot friendly single come courtesy of homegrown legends of funky house music, Crazy P who come through with both a vocal and dub version. Honeyfeet's latest opus is turned into a straight up soulful disco monster by the boys from Nottingham, with Rioghnach's rasping vocals playfully meandering over Hot Toddy and Ron Basejam's crisp beats and trademark live bass. Elsewhere, much hyped Russian production don, I Gemin, delivers his take - still aimed at the dance floor of course, but a slightly deeper house affair based around jazzy keys and chopped up vocals that take the song into more sonorous territories.

As a bonus, the 12" package also features the acclaimed remix of previous single, Sinner, courtesy of erstwhile Polish Innocent Sorceror, Envee - his shuffling, moody take only previously being available on vinyl via a super limited (and now impossible to find) 7-inch release late last year. For the last couple of years Honeyfeet (whose name comes from a line in the Blues Brothers film) have been a conduit for the ideas and expressions of an exotic mixture of Manchester based musicians. This genre-defying band incorporate styles including jazz, folk and hip hop into their music.

The band are fronted by Rioghnach Connolly - also known for her work with Real World artists Afro Celt Sound System and The Breath - "A remarkable singer and flutist who...can ease from Irish traditional influences to soul" (The Guardian). The line-up is completed by Rik Warren (vocals/harmonica), Gus Fairbairn (tenor sax), Biff Roxby (trombone/vocals), Ellis Davies (guitar), Lorien Edwards (bass guitar), John Ellis (keyboards) and David Schlechtriemen (drums).

Since their self-released debut album, 2013's It's a Good Job I Love You, keyboardist John Ellis jumped on board as full-time member, bringing his unique musical presence. This enabled the development of a more texturally adventurous style, as witnessed with the dual atonal solo between himself and guitarist Ellis Davies on Sinner. Similarly, for their current LP, Orange Whip, engineer, bassist and spiritual guide Lorien Edwards makes his Honeyfeet recording debut, so completing the 'kitchen' of this very special band.

Local Talk continues 2020 by adding another fine producer to the family, Felipe Gordon.



Felipe's variety of musical flavours and best moments come when he fully fleshes out his ideas, something showcased on the opening title track 'For A Bright And Acid Future'.

It starts off jazzy with a piano playing peek-a-boo with a double bass and just as you thought you had it all figured out, Felipe turns the track into a masterclass is sweaty, TB-303 driven jack-track.

On the flip Felipe teams up with Kear and delivers 'Son Esquivas', a rhythm driven track with beautiful keys splashed out for maximum vibes, the duo has managed to imbue a sense of soulfulness and emotion, bravo! 


MotorCity Wine Recordings returns in fine style with its second EP featuring a swashbuckling blend of house and jazz sounds from Detroiters and their compatriots. Rising live techno star Haz Mat leads this 12' with a house-tinged boogie funk cover of Blue Six's Music & Wine', complete with vocoder and massive drums. Kuumba Reunion Band slides through next with the Afro-Jazz number 3 Fingered Fist (Jabbar)', a cut loaded with hand drums and chunky saxophone solos for the jazzdancers and listeners alike. MotorCity Wine guest and London native Aroop Roy kicks off the flip with a dubbed out beatdown house joint, a brilliant midtempo track perfect for the dread moments of the night. Last but certainly not least, The Hughes/Smith Quintet finish the release with an uptempo Jazz-Funk piece, with generous amounts of Fender Rhodes and call-and-response melodies. With current album ‘Automatic’, Mildlife have made a step-change from their debut. It’s more disciplined, directional and more danceable. The two remixers tackling ‘Automatic’ track ‘Vapour’ here need little introduction. JD Twitch, one half of Glasgow’s Optimo Espacio and discerning curator of all things Caledonian and beyond, takes the reins for remix two, adding some clattering post-punk energy to the rhythm, turning ‘Vapour’ into something approaching a take-no-prisoners anthem.

Cosmodelica is the remix handle for Colleen Murphy (aka DJ Cosmo), the hostess of the hugely popular Classic Album Sundays series. She is fresh off the back of a superb Róisín Murphy reworking and her offering here is simultaneously faithful to the original while lending it some serious dancefloor power.

Flanuer brings us their second album sampler from the album "Nachtboutique" - on the A - side we have a floating house track with beautifully uplifting piano and the voice of mr bailey. The B - side opens deep and slow and includes a dub from the A. Not to be missed - collect them all!

As part of the emerging alternative rock/post-punk movement, Proxies was formed around 1978-79 in Thessaloniki, Greece, by Dimitrios Bitzenis (guitar), Jiannis Nastas (bass), George Pavlidis (lead singer), Manolis Trihakis (keyboards), and Lazaros Pliampas (drums). This formation got very well known locally by playing covers of Roxy Music, Talking Heads, Magazine, Devo, Television, Stranglers and other New wave bands. When Pavlidis left Greece, Nastas also left Proxies to form his own band, thus leaving Bitzenis behind as the new lead singer, guitarist and synth player, Trihakis on synth and bass, and with Pliampas still on acoustic drums. That formation almost got an contract with EMI but Xristos Vatseris (RIP), owner of the independent Thessaloniki based record company CVR, took Proxies under his wings so that they could keep control over their work. Eventually - in 1983 - their debut album 'Groovin' over Beirut' was released, recorded at the CVR studio together with engineer Kostas Kosmatopoulos (RIP). Bitzenis and Trihakis then went to the UK to study and almost got signed to Virgin Records who loved their music. Unfortunately they had to return to Greece to do their military service and the dream was over. In 1984, Pliampas left the band and the second album 'Eastern Side of Love' was released. It featured a cover of the traditional Greek song 'Fishing Boat' which became a huge hit and made Proxies a well-known name all over Greece. Trihakis eventually left the group due to not agreeing to the musical direction Proxies was about to pursue. In 1991, Bitzenis released a new album together with his cousin Nikos Bitzenis (who later formed the band Mikro and co-founder of Undo Records), and a final album together with Marina Jele in 1994 before Proxies went quiet. This re-issue features a bonus LP with six previously unreleased tracks recorded between 1982 and 1985.

We're celebrating the 20th anniversary of the original release Spatial Relationships EP by Dan Curtin! These tracks definitely showcase the signature sound and style of Curtin with jazzy and deep melodies, intricate drum programming, and his iconic arrangements. We've dug into the original studio recordings and had them remastered so they sound even better this time around!

Jersey Shore's finest funk. Minority Band hails from the beaches of Monmouth County New Jersey. The septet performed locally from New York to Neptune City in the late 70s and recorded only one LP on JSR records entitled "Journey To The Shore". Widely unknown and hyper-collectible, these recordings fetch those 4 figures... Unattainable until now. We've taken two of the best cuts from the album and pressed them proper on 12inch.

''Light My Fire'' features an enchanting female vocalist over a bed of choice chords laid by Timeline's Jon Dixon. ''Next Step 4wrd'' on Side B has been tried and tested here in Detroit as well as Europe! A favorite of Timelines well received performances.

LIRIK is a concept made by Libe & Trik (Lucian Rotaru & Constantin Leonard), two romanian producers who became friends thanks to music it self. Discovering they have the same 'feel' and 'taste' in music they got together and gave birth to these 4 mind-blowing tracks. Grammy award winner & multi grammy nominated Luisito Quintero grew up with the Latin American and African tradition of percussion. His father is just as much a percussionist as his uncle Carlos Nene Quintero and his cousin Roberto Quintero . He became a member of the Orquesta Simfonica de Venezuela , but soon appeared with ensembles such as Grupo Guaco and El Trabuco Venezolano and toured with Oscar D'León .

He then moved to New York, where he initially worked with Latin jazz musicians such as Willie Colón , Eddie Palmieri , Tito Puente and Celia Cruz . He then turned to the fusion of jazz, funk, salsa and African music and performed with George Benson , Herbie Hancock , Ravi Coltrane and Toshiko Akiyoshi , but also with pop musicians such as Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony.

His First album “Percussion Maddness” was produced by Louie Vega & LQ and was released on BBE Records. Now 8 years later, re-released on Vega Records with 4 new tracks also produced by Louie Vega will be released on a double pack vinyl in two parts, one a double pack 12” and the second a double pack 7” vinyl. Enjoy the Brazilian, Jazz, African, House, & Afro-cubano sounds of Grand Percussionist Luisito Quintero on this very special vinyl release.

At the end of the 90s, a movement began in West London that birthed a fresh direction in dance music. Though this movement never got mainstream press coverage, never had a crossover chart single, and never really transcended its community roots, there was a unique alchemy at work - a fertile moment of creativity, where a group of friends began to experiment with new cadences, rhythms and distilled influences, crafting a new direction in the attics and bedrooms of their neighbouring postcodes. Their music was a head-on collision between the sounds they had been raised on; the reggae sound system culture of Notting Hill Carnival, the sophistication and sheen of Electro-Funk, Jazz Fusion, Soulful House and Disco, the Afro-Beat sounds of Tony Allen and Fela Kuti, and the raw minimalism of early Hip Hop. Though "Broken Beat" was never a tagline that the producers anticipated, and one that they often publicly resisted, those two words would gradually come to represent the scattered rhythms, rolling basslines and soaring changes that were inherent to this exciting new sound. It's not clear who first coined the term "Broken Beat", but try to imagine how it felt to hear it for the first time; the production was grounded in MPCs and SP1200s, the hand-me-down samplers of the Hip-Hop and Jungle golden eras, and the drums that tumbled out of these machines at the hands of these creators had a jagged, stuttering feel, almost as though the groove was close to collapse.

Broken District is a new label launched by the creative minds of Jus Jam, Momla and Antwan.

The project is born with the idea of exploring alternative music styles that blend the influences of the label's creators, including Jazz, House-Music, Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, and experimental music.

RS INTL looks to Melbourne and strike gold again with their second outing from Prequel. Freedom Jazz Dance builds on the jazz- tinged debut that was lauded by such varied tastemakers as Gilles Peterson, Osunlade, Recloose, Mister Saturday Night and Ben UFO.

The standout track is 'Saints' - is a poetic take on blackness that simply can't be ignored. Another solid Ep for the Rhythm Section camp. Don't Sleep, these won't last long!

On a collision course with earth from the furthest reaches of the universe, The Colours That Rise announce their debut album “Grey Doubt’ on the inimitable Rhythm Section International. Comprised of producer duo Simeon Jones and Nathanael Williams, The Colours That Rise have previously turned heads with 2017’s “2020” EP released on Breaker Breaker (the label credited with breaking Ross From Friends).
Returning with their most accomplished offering to date, “Grey Doubt” features acclaimed guests such as Yazmin Lacey, Yussef Dayes and Andrew Ashong, each respectively complementing the incredible musicianship on display here, capturing the true zeitgeist of present day UK. Combining live instrumentation and analogue synths, intricate, intertwining textures and melodies run deep throughout this beautifully crafted afrofuturist voyage, exploring the darkest recesses of the galaxy, through weatherbeaten and asteroid damaged synth waves and broken drum patterns reverberating out into the vastness of space.
Pre-announcement single ‘Home Time’ has picked up steam with support across BBC 6 Music and 1Xtra through the likes of Benji B, Tom Ravenscroft, Jamz Supernova and Mary Anne Hobbs, who awarded it as her ‘Near Future’ track. The duo are also set for a live performance at Rhythm Section’s showcase at SXSW 2020.

Our second release this year yet again explores the deep side genres of electronic music and deep house.
The man SMBD aka Simbad has been on our wish list for quite a while now and we are super delighted that It finally worked out to welcome him for a full release on our label after his contribution to the first Dampé Ep we did last year. After a string of releases on labels like Apron, Freerange and BBE there is not much introduction needed for this house veteran.
These five tracks range from soulful house to darker break beat material and ambient soundscapes. Especially the great title track “Purple Winds” is a beautiful emotional piece of music. The closing track “Man Madol” for us is very reminiscent to early Detroit electronic music. “Piano Lick” and “Glory” are packed with soul, funk, disco and basically just good times on the dancefloor while the moody and acid break beat excursion “ – 8 – “ is winding deeper and deeper and deeper …
Not much more needed to be said here, we will let the music speak and let you enjoy these excellent tunes!

Known for blurring the lines of conventional traveling with adventurous parties, the Berlin/Brazil-based collective O MATO opens a new chapter in their history. The first release of O MATO Recordings reflects on a broad spectrum of tastes, representing not only the crew’s diverse musical aspirations but also the many faces of the worldwide family circle that has been gathered carefully over the years. What begun in the Amazon rainforest as an experiment with ambiguous outcome now finds its way back pressed into vinyl: A piece of sonic nostalgia, from the jungle to your turntables and beyond.

O MATO Recordings 001 compiles nine unreleased tracks from contemporary fellow artists as well as two KPM library pieces and a 1996 beat by the Long Beach G-Funk crew Foesum. Special thanks to our friends from Childhood Intelligence for connecting the dots.

Cropper has returned to Blah Blah Blah Records to follow up his world wide smash 'Forever'. Since marking BBB's tenth release in 2013 'Forever' has been snapped up by Universal, racked up half a million plays worldwide and played on Radio 1 by Pete Tong. To some such success may seem common place, or not that remarkable, however for artist and label these were very proud moments, not to mention moral boosting confirmations in their personal belief in the music they were presenting. A belief that has brought them back together for one more record. 'Sunlight FT. A.Z' is a hauntingly beautiful record with live double bass, searching strings, Jazz like keys and a whispy yet penetrating vocal all conspiring to dazzle the senses with its thought provoking beauty. Not your typical club record, but we're hoping that shouldn't matter. Following Sunlight is 'Shade' and like the title suggests there is a commonality as much as there is a stark difference between the two. An African spoken word sample sets the tone, as crisp weighty drums groove another 3am curveball straight into your record box. To be heard, not pontificated about with flowery words. Rounding out the package is a remix from the rather enigmatic and elusive Hackman. Hackman takes things down a slightly more linear route as he chops and reorganises the main elements to compliment his own engaging melodic interpretation of the source material.

In 2014, Vels Trio entered the UK jazz-fusion echelons with breakout EP Yellow Ochre. Conjuring the spirit of old greats and modern innovators like Pat Metheny and Robert Glasper, the trio captured the underground audience whilst inaugurating themselves into the headsier jazz foray. With a feature from the mighty Shabaka Hutchings bolstering the EP to a broader audience, and astonishing live performances, the record led to sold out shows across Europe in 2018.

Since then the band have been busy on-hire for other prominent artists within international soulful jazz scenes, backing for the likes of Charlotte dos Santos and Poppy Ajudha. Their individual journeys involve drummer Dougal Taylor working with Emma-Jean Thackray and Neue Grafik Ensemble on critically acclaimed EPs,
bassist Cameron Dawson signing to Ubiquity with Mamas Gun, and keyboard virtuoso Jack Stephenson Oliver creating dancefloor magic with our very own SAUL and Nigerian composer Etuk Ubong.

Fast forward to 2020, with follow-up single ‘The Wad’ conquering the Spotify jazz playlists, the band have an album in the works for 2021, dropping on your doorstep via Rhythm Section INTL.

The reissue also includes a breakbeat ‘n’ cuica remix of Yellow Ochre Pt. 1 from the ever-reliable beatmaker extraordinaire Footshooter (Dance Regular, YAM Records), ready for living room dancefloors **insert dub siren here** on 180 gram audiophile vinyl.

Grammy award winner & multi grammy nominated Luisito Quintero grew up with the Latin American and African tradition of percussion. His father is just as much a percussionist as his uncle Carlos Nene Quintero and his cousin Roberto Quintero . He became a member of the Orquesta Simfonica de Venezuela , but soon appeared with ensembles such as Grupo Guaco and El Trabuco Venezolano and toured with Oscar D'León .

He then moved to New York, where he initially worked with Latin jazz musicians such as Willie Colón , Eddie Palmieri , Tito Puente and Celia Cruz . He then turned to the fusion of jazz, funk, salsa and African music and performed with George Benson , Herbie Hancock , Ravi Coltrane and Toshiko Akiyoshi , but also with pop musicians such as Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony.

His First album “Percussion Maddness” was produced by Louie Vega & LQ and was released on BBE Records. Now 8 years later, re-released on Vega Records with 4 new tracks also produced by Louie Vega will be released on a double pack vinyl in two parts, one a double pack 12” and the second a double pack 7” vinyl.
