Hearlucinate was born as a party in Leeds, England and is now taking it's vibe to the capital London for a series of events. At each of these parties there will be a limited edition record created by resident Tristan da Cunha and the special guest of the party. For the debut release we have Tone Dropout's dance floor detonator Dawl dropping two tasty cuts , Tristan da Cunha coming with a nice house club bubbler and Freakenstein punching in with a strong debut in the shape of a booty banging electro jam. Designed purely for the dance floor ... these jams are guaranteed to slam.

Melbourne based record label Tanny Records is dropping its debut release in style showcasing a whopping lineup featuring Perlon's Wareika, FUSE label boss Archie Hamilton, vinyl don Charles Eddy and renowned Australian selector Lucca Tan.
The A-side showcases Wareika's tough but melodic minimal dance floor churner "Grapefruit all over me" (Original Mix) as well as his tripped-out experimental minimal groover "Jaguar" (Original Remix).
On the flip side Archie Hamilton delivers his take on "Jaguar" featuring his signature sound, and Label owner Lucca Tan and collaborator Charles Eddy give their twist on the already summer classic "Grapefruit All Over Me".

Brainchild of Multi Culti A&R, Sascha Funke and Niklas Wandt were introduced by Dreems, who charted a course for the seasoned Berlin-based producer and funky multi-percussionist and singer.

Wandt was just about to enter the scene forcefully with his collaborative 2LP with Wolf Müller and the debut single of his band Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge. In the icey cold of his warehouse rehearsal space, Funke had him record a variety of slapped, bowed and scratched percussions (congas, talking drum, prepared cymbals played with a bass bow) over his tracks. These first efforts were later expanded into joint sessions at Sascha's home studio and, within a few weeks, the journey reached it's destination: Wibe strasse, Deutschland.

At first glance, they seem an odd couple: a techno veteran of almost thirty years meets a side-burned upstart socialized in Free Jazz and Krautrock. But the shared sonic influences come through in the hypnotic, dubbed-out sound, perhaps rooted in the close connection the two share to the Rheinland region in West Germany, Funke as part of the Kompakt family and Wandt by origin and socialization in the Cologne and Düsseldorf music scene centered around the Salon des Amateurs. Regional flavours, global appeal.

The worldwide clubs lockdown helped Laurine to work on her studio craft, and the Slow Life co-founder surprises with her debut EP. A four tracker where you have a brief of her signature sound: dancefloor energy, fat basslines, joyful pads and emotion.

After recent success stories on OFF Recordings, Play it Down and our SVT100 compilation, Marlon Hoffstadt teams up with vocalist HRRSN for a first EP on Stil vor Talent, 'Skin And Bone'. Together, they present a musical, soulful style of deep house that mixes classic song writing with dancefloor sweat. The stunning title track opens the A-side with melancholic piano keys and a subtle beat over which HRRSN's memorable voice literally explodes. Beautifully understated and highly addictive! Following 'Once Again', with which many will be familiar from our recent compilation, 'I'm Losing You' then ups the tempo. Here, an elastic bass-line and elevating synth pads nestle around HRRSN's R'n'B vox. On the B-side, Oliver Koletzki and Diynamic's H.O.S.H. find themselves on remix duties. While Koletzki beefs up 'Once Again', H.O.S.H. takes things into a darker direction on his mesmerising reinterpretation of 'Skin And Bone'. Lastly, Marlon Hoffstadt & HRRSN collaborate with rapper Focus The Truth. The result An old-school hip-hop track that makes for a surprising finish to an incredibly convincing EP. Skin and bone and a whole lot of talent.

Dylan Dylan joins the Shall Not Fade with her debut album Euphoria.

Legendary German duo Frankey & Sandrino will be inaugurating Crosstown Rebels’ 2022 release schedule in January. The two-track Optical will act as the label’s first release of the year, signalling a major occasion for the pairing.

The title track opens proceedings, taking the form of a hypnotic dance cut packed full of atmospheric pads and haunting vocal tones. Gentle hats marry up with whirring synth lines, whilst a subtle bassline chugs along beside. Gridd takes on a softer edge, rounding off the release in a haze of starry-eyed warmth. Ambient notes reside next to instrumental sounds throughout, as we’re drawn into an ethereal, dream-like world.

Frankey & Sandrino, based in Essen and Berlin respectively, have been making music together for just over a decade. In that time, their rich, detailed style has graced the upper-echelons of house and techno’s worthiest institutions, garnering a legacy of releases on labels such as Innervisions, Mule Musiq, Kompakt and Diynamic. The impact of tracks such as Acamar, Mercury or Chimes has paved the way for the unstoppable rise of Frankey & Sandrino, marking the pair as a standout act within the global electronic music scene.

Moonoton is a local treasure: Andrei's tracks circulated in a local DJ crew for about a decade or more, and always been a secret weapon.
Actually this record was due to release for quite a while too, but it turned out that these tracks only got better with time and also now there's a bonus deep version by the label music head, Lipelis.

Bye By Buy is a perfect tune to get the floor's attention while you're starting the night with its super catchy vocal cuts and a piano riff.
Someone Else gets you in a late 80's NYC night cluB with a garage-like groove and a hint of classic house stabs.

Hard To Stop is a melancholic groover to close your set or, in this case an EP.

Born and raised in Detroit but now residing in London, Demi Riquísimo is building a dedicated following and catching the eye of many big-name tastemakers. His distinctive sound, an eclectic beast of acid, disco and italo influence, has gained him wide acclaim across several releases on his own Semi Delicious label.

Divine Reality EP is Riquísimo's first outing with Shall Not Fade, on the established Lost Palms series. It's a headsy affair, opening up with the title track and its driving beat, which pairs well with the blissed out and glimmering pads. You can feel the disco influence on "Local Chain", all subtle strings and pops of guitar over the muted house rhythm that gets feet moving. High-octane B1 "This is The Limit" is an acid roller with clever use of diva vocal samples, maximalist and infectious. The EP closes on "Green Machine", a percussive track that lifts from sound palettes of the 1980s in dramatic and melancholic synth melodies that are completely danceable - a climactic number with instant appeal.

Jessy Lanza has always made music that perfectly suits the mood - whether it's the heads-down trance of the dancefloor or that hazy, post-club bliss. It's no surprise for an artist that takes electronic music's most intoxicating sensibilities and effortlessly reimagines them as experimental pop and R&B. The Canadian singer, producer and DJ from Hamilton, Ontario, has trodden an inspiring path which led to 2013's boldly minimalist debut Pull My Hair Back, released on revered UK label Hyperdub. Gorgeously complex follow-ups Oh No - shortlisted for Canada's prestigious Polaris Prize - and 2020's All the Time crowned her as a singular talent in the left-of-pop sphere. It's with this genre-bending approach that Jessy Lanza presents her entry for the DJ-Kicks series - a sprawling, club-indebted odyssey that draws you in closer and closer with each listen. Recorded this summer, the mix is an incisive snapshot of her emotional landscape during the past 18 months. In 2020, with nothing but a van, a few personal belongings and her musical gear, Lanza and her partner relocated from New York City to the Bay Area to ride out the pandemic. A change of scenery, buoyed by the slower pace of their new home, gave her a fresh perspective during a worldwide screeching halt. Jessy Lanza's DJ-Kicks mix also arrives as a divine stroke of timing. As the world slowly starts to re-open, it's a portal into the ecstatic energy of the dancefloor; an emblem of genuine healing - both personal and communal - that transports listeners to a state of pure euphoria.

Even the all-time party goers can lose their sparkle in these cruel and quarantined times by getting stuck at home for too long. But for one of Moscow's finest DJ-crews it’s hasn’t been the case.

Starting with a Various Artist including three stunning tracks by: Silat Beksi & Libe, Jamie Lie A Kwie and Herck.

Bézier returns to Dark Entries with Valencia, a six track rumination on memory, geography, and transmutation. Multi-instrumentalist Robert Yang’s Bézier project has appeared on Dark Entries many times over the last decade, most recently with the 2018 LP Parler Musique. Says Yang, “What started as a project to investigate the love of the sound and scenery while living in San Francisco quickly developed into a passionate search for interlocking melodies and driving rhythms.”
On Valencia, Bézier invokes twinned places. The Valencia Street of San Francisco is channeled, which was the center of the city’s vibrant new wave scene in the 1980s.

But also echoed is Valencia, Spain, and La Ruta del Bakalao aka La Ruta Destroy, the Spanish clubbing scene throughout the 80s and 90s famed for its aggressive and synthetic sounds. Valencia is a darker record for Yang, exploring themes of submission and catharsis with nods to SF’s gay leather bars of the 70s and 80s. The high BPM salvos of “Valencia” and “Scrupulous” capture the frantic energy of Bakalao and Valencian wave acts like Última Emoción. Elsewhere Yang mines the dreamy space disco and Hi-NRG sounds they’re known for, like on the brooding “Past the Marshes” or the anthemic “Reservoir”, which features their partner Len.Leo on vocals. Bézier deftly navigates past and present, light and dark, pain and pleasure, the stasis of memory and the flux of time.

Valencia was mastered by Alex Michalski, with EQ for vinyl done by George Horn. Gwenaël Rattke designed the sleeve, which features an 80’s punk zine-esque geometric grid pattern mirroring San Francisco street maps. Also included is a 5x7 postcard with notes.

East-London based producer Riva Starr releases his electrifying new single ‘Ride This Sound’ on Club Sweat. The globally respected producer uses a classic 1920s blues-inspired vocal, adds delicate piano chords and a thumping bassline, creating an instant dancefloor groover. Up on remix duties are four in-demand artists, mixing mainstays of the scene with rising stars. Originally released three years ago, this is the collectors reissue as part of Sushitech's 15th anniversary celebrations. Invisibility is the second album of Cristi Cons and Vlad Caia's Sideways Invisibility Theory Project (AKA SIT). This pack containing all the tracks from their album, both chapters one and two, pressed on a limited coloured vinyl. It features a quintet of trippy, low-slung late night workout seemingly designed to operate in the cracks between house and minimal techno. There is a natural subtle variations throughout - a nod to dub techno here, a psychedelic acid line or dreamy deep house texture there - but thought, their focus remains firmly on only early morning workouts - modern classic!

Four lean, heads down techno cuts including a Ben Sims edit make up the debut release on Avision on Sims' Hardgroove imprint.

As a young person growing up in West Yorkshire, my experiences of true underground clubbing became intertwined with names such as Back to Basics, 20/20 Vision and Carl Finlow. That period in the early 2000's became a life-affirming time for my young self.

Frequent trips to Back to Basics, then held at the Mint Club helped forge my outlook on electronic music and how it should be played in a club environment. I would often hear stories about ""the Farm"" and the late night parties and studio sessions. The anecdotes and tales of US icons recording in the countryside with the local guys provided only a small insight into the creativity and fun that must have gone on during those years. Cut to now in 2017, whilst looking back to those times more than fifteen years ago, I can proudly say that the dots have been joined and the connections now formally established.

I'm immensely proud to say that Carl Finlow, the understated king of British electro, and I, have put together a selection of his works that provides a themed snapshot into his musical history. The music I have chosen with Carl may not be all of his biggest tracks but it is the music that is special to me. The selection has a vibe, one that is deep and emotive, music for the head as well as the feet - Hope you hear it in the same way (...)

Insanlar returns with an epic 45 minute shamanistic techno folk song, split over two sides. With 'Demedim Mi', the Istanbul born group ft. the renowned DJ Baris K and multi-instrumentalist Cem Yildiz, offer another off-kilter journey through deep, esoteric Turkish electronic music.

Insanlar means humankind. Their techno folk hybrid is rooted firmly in Anatolian/Alewi religious poetry, their energetic, almost punkish attitude has created a mystic following around the bands early shows. Insanlar's first release catapulted them on to the international stage, where their idiosyncratic mixture of traditional Anatolian/Mesopotamian instrumentation, electronic music and spiritual/philosophical lyrics continue to captivate festival audiences.

The musical excursions of the group go into uncharted territories rather than towards an end goal, melting traditional songs in their music as divine inspiration, while entering places one didn't know existed. Insanlar's recorded version of 'Demedim Mi' was initially meant to become a traditional Alewi 'deyis' song, with lyrics. However, this session resulted in a long magical instrumental folk hymn, that is surprising and captivating at the same time.

Porter Ricks is a collaboration between Thomas Köner and Andy Mellwig. After the Re-release of the legendary album "Biokinetics", which is superb subaquatic dub techno, we re-release Porter Ricks first album on Mille Plateaux. The album demonstrates the move to a kind of discoid funkyness with an underlying almost organic rhythmight. But still its not music for beautiful souls. Instead, it combines funkyness with alien sonic fluxes and the rhythm of a killing mover.

Christopher Mcfarlane aka Big Miz debuts on Aus with ‘Fools Mate’. Christopher’s self released ‘Flashbang’ EP, ’Good Thing’ residency at Room 2, Glasgow and his monthly Rinse FM show have teed him up for a stellar 2022. The Glaswegian’s five track EP ticks all the boxes, deep, soulful, melodic and raw. Washington lends an elegant vocal to ‘Still Deciding' and Sally C rounds off the EP with a remix that has a dangerously punchy bassline expect the Big Saldo’s Chunkers boss to be spinning this one at Pbar, ? , Pitch, Lost Village and many more this summer.

These three offerings from Michael James might fit into the minimal/tech bracket comfortably but there's a free flowing, shuffling sense of funkiness that undeniably runs through them all that defies all the usual 'shoulder twitch' stereotypes about the genre. 'Signal Issues' employs a panther-like bass hovering under the radar, with the briefest of breakbeat snippets adding the growing syncopation. 'Still Waiting' continues the technofunk mission, a sea of underplayed bleepery augmenting the groove, while 'Rush Hour' has a breezier and more open vibe and perhaps a more classic techno feel, proper graceful like.

Locked down and furloughed, Vitalic went back to his synths and beatboxes, resulting in his fifth album "DISSIDÆNCE" - the title of which is a whole story in itself - destined to be released in two volumes. He describes it as a return to the roots of his sonic identity, a kind of reinterpretation of the rock energy of his early albums. "More than anything, it was a question of timing. While composing I realised that eight tracks felt like too little for an album, and sixteen was really over the top, so I decided to cut the whole thing in half! The main reason though is that I felt I hadn't been able to express everything I wanted to on the first volume - like something had been left unfinished."

The two episodes of "DISSIDÆNCE" - navigating between pop and hardcore, sweat and tenderness, melancholia and anger - are a sort of boiling down of what the artist knows how to do best, after twenty years of creating, from filthy whirlwinds that make your mind explode on the dancefloor to bubble gum pop songs about love that transport us elsewhere. On these two volumes of "DISSIDÆNCE" that now form one, the powerful beats and galloping sequencers translate the social and political anger of the global pandemic, and Vitalic looks into the past, channelling his love for off-kilter synth sounds, skew-whiff pads, heady refrains, distorted vocals and heavy beats. Above all, this dancefloor marathon expresses his obsessional passion for dance music and the primal need to dance. "DISSIDÆNCE" should be taken as both a celebration of celebration and a journey back in time to an era that maybe does not exist right now, but which will - and this album is the dazzling proof - be reborn from its ashes to burn bright once more, its BPM let loose and rage still blazing, because more than ever, to dance is to live.

More Strictly Rhythm GOLD right here. An all-time, hands down, unstoppable CLASSIC record from way back - 1995 to be precise. If you don't know this record it's possible you've been in a coma, living in a cave with no electricity or have literally just arrived here on planet earth. Either way, once you hear 'Higher State Of Consciousness' you certainly won't forget it. Produced by Philly's legendary Josh Wink and released by the forward thinking A&R team at Strictly. At the time there was very little to nothing that even came close to this release. The 'Tweekin Acid Funk' mix being the highlight and the version that caught everyone's ears and captured minds worldwide across radio-waves with endless rewinds on MTV and in the clubs. Foreseeing the impending 'Breaks' boom that came around in the mid to late 90's 'Higher State...' was one of those rare moments where a record truly transcends genre boundaries and found it's way into DJ's boxes and bags on every scene. A mighty, evergreen slab of wigged out, acidic, breakbeat chaos. Essential. This one's a tasty 2017 reissue and remaster, featuring all 3 mixes, unedited, as per the original release way back when. Move D relaunches Source Records with a series of 12“s documenting his set of live video streams recorded during the first year of the pandemic

‘Scenic Route’ is the leading single from Ruffien’s upcoming debut album – To Win in Silence. It blends the sultry with the psychedelic - consisting of rolling, tribal percussion and a constant whirling, dub-like atmosphere throughout.

The single’s remixes are courtesy of New York resident Cofaxx (Nous Disques, Atlantic Rhythms) who approaches the remix with a smooth & warm touch, and North Carolina’s very own sonic wizard Kwala (HLF/PIN, Project Mooncircle) – who flips the original track on its head and effortlessly delivers something hectic & unpredictable.

Also featured is a remix by Orlando Voorn that picks up slowly, then accelerates and gets your groove on. All the while, the peaceful backing melody counters the intense rhythm and turns this version into an absolute ear-pleaser.

In classic Baby Ford style the A-side opens with "Mystery Falls" a deep melodic housey workout with shuffling percussion and sublime top line strings.Meanwhile on the B-side, shaker hustlin' "Spooked" conjures up a more stripped down moody grooving chordal affair. Both tracks cut at 45rpm for maximum quality and effect on the floor.

Rising UK-talent Guy Mac makes a much-anticipated debut on Hot Creations in January with the Sonic Boom EP. Made up of three original tracks, the release acts as both Guy’s and the label’s inaugural release of 2022.

The title track kicks off proceedings in an outright party fashion, as rampant kicks lay beneath up-tempo hats to set the tone. Reverberating vocals bounce alongside driving synth lines, before we’re soon graced with the stripped-back sounds of Waku Waku. Tribal-laced percussion opens into pulsing, space-like samples, whilst the enthralling chant of “waku waku” shimmers softly throughout. Rounding off the EP is Don’t Stop, another no-nonsense, late-night cut packed full of 4x4 drum patterns that perfectly encapsulates Guy’s hard-hitting, club-ready sound.
