Night Visions is a collection of stories which dance alive over an infectious blend of Afro-Latin rhythms and contemporary dancefloor beats. Told by a variety of characters, drawn from the vibrant imagination of Chico Mann, these stories take place in an endless night, where we move through dimly lit clubs, jungle moonlight, pitch black desert plains, and the internal shadows of personal darkness. While the characters often stumble and search blindly in the dark, the persistent presence of a distant light provides an underlying direction and hopefulness to all the songs. Captain Planet's production, informed by his regular crowd-moving DJ sets, keeps the album sounding effortlessly danceable & contemporary. Meanwhile, Chico's vocals have an instant classic appeal, hinting at old Cuban rumba and vintage Afrobeat LP's. He has released 3 full-length albums featuring his trademark "Gumbo Funk" sound on Bastard Jazz Recordings, and can be heard on the soundtracks to multiple popular TV shows such as "Orange Is The New Black", "Entourage" and "CSI:NY" to name a few. In 2016, his song "Un Poquito Mas" featuring Chico Mann was featured in a major Honda ad campaign and passed a million plays on Spotify. The success of that song, in conjunction with Chico Mann relocating to Los Angeles, encouraged the two artists to focus on a full collaboration album together.

Bath-based producer Odeko returns to Mr. Mitch's blossoming Gobstopper imprint with a new two-track single, following a 2016 that saw the label release EPs from mainstay Loom and Irish duo CLU, as well as Odeko's debut record, 'A History With Samus'. Deeply idiosyncratic, Odeko's sound references a variety of themes without ever feeling bound by any and on 'Digital Botanics', he takes this bright, one-of-a-kind sound design to new heights. Subtle trap patterns provide the foil for gloopy, toy-like melodies to glide over the top, spiked by short bursts of growling, industrial noise. On 'Construct Conduct', Odeko offers his take on euphoric, 80s-inspired synth music — only prepped for the future — with pulsating, heady grooves and spiralling, acid-y melodies nodding to a growing reputation that he is quietly becoming one of the UK's most exciting young sound designers.

Spirits is the debut EP of Sabla, one of the heads who's always been close to the Gang. Field recording, ethnic samples and machine sound live together to create structures midway between Andy Stott's dark journeys and Donato Dozzy's relentless rhythms, marrying at the same time the philosophy of Gang of Ducks.

The sound matrix of the ep, through its repetitive and progressive attitude, takes the role of alienating the listener and taking him into a state of hypnosis. A polirythmic definition confuses the percussions in order never to define a single loop line, but softening the rhythmic cycles.

G.O.D remixes the main track 'Spirits' annuling the rhythm section and adding a vocal mantra, taking everything on an esoteric level. Ital, fresh from his double ep on Planet Mu, centers his rework midways between house and techno, perfect to crash the dancefloor during peaktime.

Sabla is a project born and raised in Turin, devotely committed to the study of hypnotic sounds and poly rythms. Alter ego conceived during the performance A Great Symphony For Torino in collaboration with Kode9, DVA, British Council and Club to Club festival, for which he has produced two tracks together with XIII in 2013 and 2014. At the beginning of 2015 his debut ep is released on the label Gang of Ducks, with reworks by Ital (Planet Mu) and by the curators of the label G.O.D. He's also active under different monikers as a visual artist.

WBBL returns with his latest exclusive Ghetto Funk Vinyl EP. It has an amazing selection of certified bass heavy funk bangers that will keep any crowd jumping. Little is really known about the artist called WBBL...,Some say he was brought up on a diet of misunderstood folk music and balearic basslines, others say he was conceived in Studio 54 back in the 70's. Either way, hatever story you hear, you know that he has an extensive musical background that has paved the way for his talented production skills and the fantastic tracks that come from the WBBL HQ. First up is a funky groove titled 'Stephen' and you may 'wonder' why it gets your body moving so much, well that's called the WBBL effect. Next is 'Mambo Baby' which will make you don your satin flamenco shirt, get your maracas out and shake them like you just don't care! Third on the list is 'Ryde' that has a gritty feel to it that will make you feel like you need a good wash after it douses you in dirty funk. And finally, with the help from Ghetto Funk's resident 'big hair' DJ/Producer Mr. B-Side, they have created a monster in 'Wooaahhhh!'. Normally this is a term used to slow down a horse but in this case it is the war cry to the dancefloor! So you will find this WBBL EP filled with guaranteed club smashers that have been tried and tested by the man himself as he his now out on the road performing his live sets to the masses. "The innovation, spirit and power of Jamaican music is a constant source of creative manna for us," explains Eric Hilton of DC-based electronic band THIEVERY CORPORATION about their new album THE TEMPLE OF I & I. "On the musical map, Jamaica is an entire continent. Frankly, we could have spent a year there, soaking up the vibes in the air and the strength and resilience resonating from the people. And for us, the only way to connect with this rich source of inspiration was to work in that environment - to feel the pulse of the place."

Infused with the culture and rhythm of Jamaica, The Temple of I & I is an extension of the dub ethos and aesthetic that they've harbored since their debut EP Sounds from Thievery Hi-Fi, except this time, they dove headfirst into the rich and warm musical environs of Port Antonio, Jamaica and surrounded themselves with the island's magic. Kicking off in February 2015, Hilton, Rob Garza and their DC-based live rhythm section settled into the deep part of Jamaica Port Antonio and began recording in Geejam Studios. "People couldn't believe Robbie Myers, our guitarist, wasn't Jamaican," laughs Hilton. "I think they're used to people coming down from London or LA to record rock and pop records, and they were thrilled that we had such a handle on their sound. It felt like the respect was mutual. It was beyond gratifying. High Grade ganja and bottles of Appleton rum started to show up on the reg."

Rife with inspired sounds of the island, The Temple of I & I kicks off with "Thief Rockers", easing the listener into a reverb-heavy tropical sway that introduces Kingston-newcomer, vocalist Racquel Jones. "I met her on my first trip to Port Antonio and she played some demos at Geejam. She had actually used Thievery Corporation as her demo backing track, and it was a perfect match when I heard it. We've been waiting years to find a conscious, brilliant, female Jamaican singer and MC. As a model and former Miss Jamaica contestant, you'd never expect the pure lyrical fire and tough delivery could come out of her. It's impressive," explains Hilton.

Known around the world, DJ CAM was part of the avant-garde 'French Touch' together with Daft Punk, Air and Bob Sinclar, as well as a precursor of the electronic music popularized by his peers (Massive Attack, Madonna, Jean-Michel Jarre...).

DJ CAM founded his own label, Inflamable Records, which has now sold over 2 million records and counts more than a hundred productions in its catalogue, including the single Summer in Paris' featuring vocals by Anggun (over 1 million singles sold). Over the years he has created a host of successful remixes (Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, Serge Gainsbourg), music for films and TV (Gus Van Sant, CSI: Miami...), soundtracks for numerous events and fashion shows and sound design for many prestigious boutiques and brands (LVMH, Cartier, Baccarat, Sephora, Agnès B...). For the album's sleeve and visuals, DJ CAM has joined forces with visionary stylist Milan Vukmirovic. Milan Vukmirovic is the founder and editor of Fashion for Men, a book-format magazine. Artistic director for Trussardi from 2007-2011, he was also design manager for the Gucci group, where he worked with Tom Ford. He then went on to join Jil Sander as artistic director. In 2005, he became editor of the magazines L'Officiel Homme and L'Officiel Homme Italia. Co-founder of the Colette concept store in Paris in 1997, he has developed his career as a stylist in parallel with his work in photography and publishing. Milan is also the founder of The Webster, a boutique in Miami that brings fashion together with the creative visions of photography and design.

On the fourth Secret Reels release, Loz Goddard delivers 3 impeccably produced house tracks.Hailing from the musical powerhouse that is Manchester, Loz has previously released on the legendary Large Music and Editorial. The EP 'Loose Jams' was the release that put Loz's name on the map, pushing the top spot in Juno's coveted deep house chart. Released on Fouk (Daniel Leseman & Junktion) & Kristoffer Ljungberg's Outplay label, it was in the record boxes of many top names in house music. The first track, A Way We All Accept, is a piece of low slung funk inspired house, drenched in Rhodes chords and brimming with horns and vocal snippets.Fifth Flight steps it up a notch with twinkling keys, a loose-ass bassline and a synth line to die for! The drums groove on with syncopated hi-hats while a female vocal line swirl around from ear to ear. Hearing this on a big system will have you grinning from ear to ear too!
Junktion turns in a slammer of a remix of 'A Way We All Accept', using the samples from the original to devastating effect. Vercetti, Lovedr0id and Chemist, who met while studying music technology and composition and discovered they had similar tastes and ideals. The project was formed after they began experimenting with combining the academic study of sound design with their personal musical interests. The original aim of the project was to combine their shared interests in grime, drill and club music with film and game soundtrack composition. The EP follows a loose narrative set in a retro-futuristic/dystopian city, with development into game music in mind; it's dance music that has been crafted with an ear for widescreen enveloping sonics. It opens with the scene setting 'Citadel VI' dropping into the atmospheric glide of 'Shaded' with its camera sounds and energetic bass, kicks and claps. The mood darkens with the punchy 'Defect' as the track uncurls through a vortex of gated chords. 'Cryo Enemy' returns to a mournful trap with Gamelan and gongs splashing gently across rolling kicks and snares. 'Vectors' luxuriates in deep bass and trap snares as clouds of chords and arpeggios rise and fall. 'Akwraith' rolls out with a nervous mood followed by the ambience of 'Hollow-Point' which finishes the EP where it started, warm and glowing.

Haçienda Classiçal sees DJs Graeme Park and Mike Pickering, the original DJs behind the unique Haçienda sound, spin club classics in full harmony with a live orchestra, Manchester Camerata, alongside vocals from the AMC Choir and special guests. Ben Billington has devoted a decade of his life to Chicagos overlapping scenes of experimental DIY, electronic music, and free jazz as a part of seminal outfits including Tiger Hatchery, ONO, and ADT. His solo music under the Quicksails moniker compresses his mastery of synthesis and percussion into dense electro- acoustic compositions animated by stacked layers of rhythm and alien texture.



Mortal, his first LP for Hausu Mountain following releases on labels like Spectrum Spools, NNA Tapes, and Captcha, finds Quicksails piecing together some of his most complex compositions to date, steering his network of synths, samplers, and acoustic instruments through conflicting emotional territories as a means of personal catharsis and abstracted self expression.



Each track on Mortal presents its own mosaic of juxtaposed textures and moods, as electronic and acoustic elements swell together into short narrative arcs: lush polyphonic synth lines clash or collude over basslines that trudge through the nether regions of the mix, massive saxophone and trumpet fanfares (performed by Billingtons ADT bandmates Carlos Chavarria and Jake Acosta) weave through layers of complementary electronic melody, busy percussion lines sound out from drum kit, hand percussion, and drum machine, smearing together into a rhythmic bedrock that blurs the line between the synthetic and the organic.

Super Heavy Metal makes music by playing the most underrated and mysterious instrument in the band: The cymbal. With a selection of cymbals, sticks, tape, rattles and effects, the cymbals are treated much like the "Prepeared piano". The songs are made by building layers of rhythms and sounds, some parts are sampled and looped, most of it is improvised.

Live, Super Heavy Metal, compromises between using cymbals and electronics to re-create and make the layers of sound.

Super Heavy Metal is the solo debut from drummer Kim Åge Furuhaug. After working most of his life within pop music, there was a need to do something completely different. Teaming up with producer Anders Bjelland, Super Heavy Metal recorded the debut album, in Broen studio the fall of 2015.

When you find your musical soulmate, the universe will allow great things to happen. Producer/multi-instrumentalist Alex Kaye and vocalist/lyricist Lianna Vanicelli are Valley Hush and have found that in each other. At the end of 2015, PopMatters named Detroit's experimental pop group Valley Hush one of the best emerging artists. The duo makes music that is a flirtatious mixture of reality and fantasy that transcends traditional genres. Their debut self-titled album broadly connects the dots between acts such as Tame Impala, Grimes, Gorillaz, and Lana Del Rey, while still sounding wholly unique. Since their inception, Valley Hush has built a reputation on creating music that swells with energy and speaks to our shared existence that we are all in this beautiful mess together.



While Vanicelli's lyrics are personal they are just as applicable to the masses. Her words read more like poetry or a lucid dream, rich in vivid detail while evoking the sensation of an impending spring and never a dormant winter. Kaye's instrumentals take the lyrics to a new horizon, combining elements of many different musical genres into seamless journeys of sound.

Taking cues from producers and artists such as Damon Albarn (Gorillaz), Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Danger Mouse, and Hot Sugar, he adds his own touches picked up from years of working as a freelance writer, producer, and engineer in the city of Detroit. He records their songs in several different studios in the Detroit area, including a massive hundred-year-old church converted into a recording space.

After performing at the 2016 Middle of the Map Fest in Kansas City they signed to the festival curator's own label The Record Machine. Valley Hush has released two previous independent EPs and is currently putting the final touches on their mesmerizing self-titled debut full-length album to be released late 2016

Among the tracks, 'Yes or no' is the instrumental demo that led to the influential Italo classic 'Yes no family' by Jock Hattle.
'Another place in the sun' features Fred Ventura on lead vocals and 'No time of no emotion' is a vocal track with the distinctive sound of Roland 808 drum machine and TB
303 bassline. Four more instrumental tracks complete the session, a couple of which with a slightly post new wave attitude.
The release is strictly limited to 300 12' vinyls, 150 colored copies plus 150 classic black vinyls. Digital version will be released in July 2016, enjoy it!

Blaue Reiter and later known as S-Tone Inc.
In 1982 he started experimenting with electronic dance music using analogue keyboards and drum machines and here is a selection of these experiments.

Here comes R-Zone 05, this time coming from a pair of established producers who work both solo and as a duo (and one of them runs a prominent German label). The first track is 'Jungle Fever', a slowed down, dub-culture tinged track of sampled loon bird calls, tooting melodies and raw metallic drums that churn deep down below. It's the sort of track that needs to be played in summer, ideally with a reefer on the go. 'Down-E rave' again calls on druggy references for its inspiration - this time E'd-up dancefloors in the mid-nineties. It's a lazy beat with curious vocal stabs, prominent drum breaks and plenty of deft synth work that takes you up, up and away in style. The flip-side sees two versions of 'nRg Zone'. The Happy Mix is a rinsed out and tripped out track of streaming melodies, more old school and rough drums and plenty of bright, pixelated melodies stabs as well as softer background pads. The Moody Mix operates much more down in the darkened doldrums. It seems to have heavy heart and sultry mood as the percussion churns on beneath golden streaming pads and like everything on the R-Zone series, is stuffed with plenty of very real atmosphere.

Okzharp and Manthe Ribane return with their second EP 'Tell Your Vision', a call and response between Manthe's vocals and Okzharp's production. Both bring their unique energies to the mix, manifesting in a raw confidence of new moods and temperatures that were brought out from their first taste of touring and living on autopilot. The EP's title is a reference to its opener, 'Teleported', which was created in Okzharp's car on an exploratory drive through London and inspired by the art and energy they came across. The track opens with a ferocious bass line, with Manthe's rumbling vocals rolling rhythmically over the top. She takes us with her as she lets the music possess her as if dancing, quickly spitting the vocals back out, urging the listener to Tell your vision!'. A much more gentle and reflective turn comes on second track 'B U'. Okzharp's slow and soft lullaby melody and Manthe's warm and inspiring lyrics tug at the heartstrings. In the upbeat and playful 'Maybe This', Manthe's vocals flit between a hum that softly swells over the top of Okzharp's spacey melody, into an energised and bouncing rap. The EP rounds off with the warm anthem 'Piki Piki', with the chorus sung in the South African Sepedi dialect. Okzharp's long synth lines draw us in with Manthe's vocals melting and blending into the track. 'Piki Piki' has an unmistakably positive vibe, which becomes emphasised when Manthe switches to English, with lyrics that advocate self-affirmation and self-love.
