After a decade's absence, spent working in commercial sound design, New York based electronic musician and producer Joseph Fraioli returns to his Datach'i alias for a brand new album entitled 'System'. Featuring 16 tracks of beautiful yet unsettling electronic music recorded exclusively on a Eurorack Modular synth, 'System' will be released on August 19th via Venetian Snares' Timesig imprint. Speaking about the album Fraioli said, 'I've spent much of the past decade building up my own sound design company, Jafbox Sound, and in recent years have become fascinated by modular synths. I'd been making a series of performance videos, showing how they work and that inspired me to start making music as Datach'i again. I suddenly realized I had a growing collection of tracks that worked together and had something new to say. Aaron heard some of them and encouraged me to start thinking of them in terms of an album and here we are.' Venetian Snares says of the album 'Joseph's special take on live modular production has had me really excited this past year. There are so many great tracks, it was nearly impossible to compile this album. I'm tickled he agreed to release them with Timesig!' The first non-VSnares-related release on Timesig, 'System' will be available on double vinyl, CD and digital download. Those who pre-order the physical release via the Planet Mu website will also receive a bonus CD featuring 19 more tracks recorded around the same time as 'System'. Having released 6 albums between 1999 and 2006 on labels including Planet Mu and Sublight, Fraioli has spent the past ten years running award-winning sound design company, Jafbox Sound, where his productions for film, TV and adverts have been recognized by the likes of the Cannes Film Festival and the CLIO Awards. In 2014, Fraioli also joined forces with Interpol's Daniel Kessler, forming 'Big Noble.' Their freshman release entitled, 'First Light," combined Fraioli's approach to sound design with Kessler's guitar work to create cinematic, ambient soundscapes.

After releasing his debut album "Paradise" earlier this year to much critical acclaim, B. Bravo has swung back around for yet another trip to this island of cosmic delights, tapping into some of our favorite producers & extended fam for a special 12" to accompany the digital of "Paradise Remixed". The A-Side kicks off with Fool's Gold producer Sammy Bananas turning the squelchy funk of "Freak It" into a filtered French & Italo inspired funky house monster, perfect for peak time on the dancefloor, while Los Angeles' XL Middleton deliver's a low slung G-Funk & boogie inspired take on the album single "I'm For Real". On the flip, UK producer SMBD (better known as Simbad) turns "Lay It On The Line" a classic 80s synth beast that's been tried & tested around European festivals all summer, while Grandfeather (aka Anton Borin) comes through with a spacey & deep downtempo funk reversioning of "Can't Keep My Hands Off You". Los Angeles-based Adam Mori aka B. Bravo adds a touch of love to every soulful groove he gets his hands on. His signature sound, connecting outer space g-funk, r&b, and dance music has made him a name in the electronic music scene as well a key player in the worldwide modern funk movement, being hailed by the likes of XLR8R, FACT Magazine, Gilles Peterson and many more.

'Pusherman' is the debut release from London based label i&i Musik, featuring soulful rootsy vocals and a powerful message from Jamaica's highly acclaimed reggae veteran Mike Brooks. On the flip side, Wallace Adalphus' infectious positive character and charming storytelling style brings an uplifting vibe to 'Good
Morning'.Recorded together at Archiver's North London studio, 'Pusherman' is a soulful roots reggae track, full of organic percussion, catchy guitar riffs courtesy of Matteo Boyero and a killer heavy bassline, blending perfectly with Mike Brooks' sincere and soulful vocals. A dub version courtesy of Archiver, strips back the track allowing all the intricate layers to breathe with the guitars, flutes & driving bass and drums taking centre stage.On the other side is a three way collaboration between Archiver and fellow producer Matteo Boyero, and features vocals from Wallace Adalphus. He began his career at Channel One Studios and has worked alongside well known artists such as Jah Lloyd, Prince Far I, Glen Brown, Delroy Wilson, Pat Kelly and U Roy. He has released tracks and albums on numerous labels such as Duke Reid, Trojan plus his own Coptic Lion imprint to name a few. ABOUT i&i MUSIK i&i Musik is a small independent record label based in London and setup by producer Archiver. The label is centred around Archiver's own productions and collaborations, but will also showcase other artists and producers. Not wanting to be pigeon holed, the label will mix styles and genres where dub techniques and bass feature prominently.

While she may be based in Berlin now, Shanti Celeste has deep roots within Idle Hands. From working behind the counter when the shop first opened to playing the label parties and co-running the neighbouring Brstl label, Shanti's contributions to the Bristol house music scene have been ever-increasing as she has grown as an artist.

Having put out our her second ever 12",Days Like This, back in 2014, it gives us great pleasure to welcome her back as an internationally respected producer with a relentless gig schedule and a rich back catalogue of warm, heartfelt dance music that kicks where it counts.

Shanti's stylistic palette may have broadened over the past four years, but she's also retained a natural, unpretentious quality in her tracks that can span all manner of grooves and tempos. "Make Time" certainly chimes with her earliest house productions, but it's also offset by a wistful, meditative maturity. Swooping pads, distant vocal threads and delicate fragments of breakbeat flirting in an aqueous soundscape - whatever city she's based in now, this is surely deep house infused with a quintessential Bristol ruffness.

"Thoughts" meanwhile speaks more to the artistic development Shanti has undergone over the past few years, bearing the influence of melodic techno, electro and broken beat while striking a unique chord in the process. It's a hypnotic, alluring track that eschews basic dancefloor demands in favour of a more intimate headspace shaped out by snaking, polyrhythmic synth lines.

Both "Make Time" and "Thoughts" stretch out over extended running times - all the better for losing yourself in the heady atmosphere Shanti has created on her very welcome return to Idle Hands.

Wally Badarou is a visionary musician who over the years has forged a history that is immensely storied, diverse and creatively rich. He has not only released timeless solo material such as the incredible Echoes LP in 1984 (part of which reached a new generation of music fans when the track Mambo was sampled for Massive Attack's Daydreaming), but has also recorded on classic albums with luminaries such as Grace Jones, Sly & Robbie, Mick Jagger, Fela Kuti, Robert Palmer, Jimmy Cliff, Black Uhuru and Talking Heads to name just a few. Both co-founders of Diskotopia have been huge fans of Mr. Badarou's work since before the label's inception and are elated to present The Unnamed Trilogy Vol.1 to the world at large.

Populous is Andrea Mangia, a producer hailing from Lecce, a small city on the heel of Italy's boot. In 2003, he made his first jaunt into the music world with the album Quipo (via Morr Music). In 2005 he released Queue For Love, influenced by his reggae/hip-hop-infused surroundings (Lecce is known as Italy's Jamaica, as reggae and dancehall are extremely popular there) and in 2008 he released Drawn in Basic. Both albums were widely received by international critics, earning him a spot on the global music map. He became known for the way he seamlessly blends digital sounds with the analog warmth of soul/hip-hop/whatever else he's influenced by at the time.

In 2014, he released Night Safari via Bad Panda Records. The album, for Populous, was the embodiment of a dream. "This record is an imaginary nighttime safari to discover uncontaminated landscapes, strange creatures, wild animals, and mysterious lights," he told Thump Magazine. The record received praise from international media outlets, and was revered for its ability to sonically transcend borders.

Azulejos, his forthcoming release, has a South American tinge to it (and is even partly in Spanish). He moved to Lisbon, Portugal to start work on the album bringing with him only a laptop, a small MIDI keyboard, and a microphone. "Lisbon became both my studio and my muse," he says. He wandered the city collecting field recordings— from trams to people singing on street corners. He sifted through flea markets for records to use for sampling (exclusively Portuguese and South American). Populous describes Lisbon as a city 'halfway between South American soul and European modernity, African in some aspects, and dramatically melancholic." He channeled these poignant fusions into Azulejos, named for the typical tiled facades in Portugal— simultaneously bright and decaying. The album features collaborations with Nina Miranda of Smoke City and Ela Minus, among others. It's a love letter to Lisbon, and a dreamy quilt of sounds he both grew up with and heard for the first time during his influential stay in Portugal.

Loveland returns for the second release on their newly revamped record label Loveland Recordings and Ian O'Donovan does the honours. The Irish producer was catapulted to Loveland's attention when Adam Beyer closed the 2014 Loveland Festival with 'Vortex'. Since then Loveland's mailbox and Facebook have been bursting with requests for 'that amazing track from Adam's set'.
