The latest Secret Love 6 is accompanied again by a Special EP. Next to two out of the fifteen tracks off the
compilation an exclusive remix by Alex Barck of Unforscene's "Dark Souls"

It's fair to say that Homework, the duo born and raised in Amsterdam's Concerto record store, have slowly been securing their place in the national and international house music stratospheres. With releases on labels like Exploited, Made To Play, and remixes for Rebirth and Audiojacks Gruuv label the two gentlemen have garnered continuing support from a wide array of artists like Soul Clap, Axel Boman, Oliver $, Jimpster, Derrick Carter and many others.
Their debut 2020 release sees them deliver another great EP of deep and distinct house grooves built around some choice samples and classic drums and pads. The lead track 'Confessing' is built around an old soul acapella that really raises the track head and shoulders over its peers. On the flip 'C'mon (start moving)' again plays with some classy samples, but in a more subtle fashion, arranging them around some slinky synth melodies and some slick old skool drums.

For the next instalment on long standing UK dance label Southern Fried, Italo-cosmic dreamers Luca C & Brigante invite friend and legendary vocalist Robert Owens to lay down the vocals on 'Tomorrow Can Wait', a track with all the makings of a summer classic, packaged with a moodier club mix and Art Department helmed rework.
Cast your mind back to the bright and breezy autumn of 2011 and you may remember being bewitched by Luca C & Brigante's collection of isle-inspired, vintage melodies 'Invisible Cities' (Southern Fried) - emanating with Balearic spirit after the infectiously sexy 'Different Morals' feat Ali Love showcased another prowess by dominating the summer season's dancefloors. Coinciding with a spell-binding contribution to the RA podcast series with a trip through the ages of psychedelia, the passionate production force have since been working on material for their forthcoming collective (Ali Love, Zeben Jameson (A Mountain Of One), Findlay Brown, Robert Owens and Roisin Murphy) album of songs and live instrumentation whilst Luca C solo has been working alongside Hot Natured as well as Ali Love under the guise Infinity Ink - currently blowing up the scene with their debut single 'Infinity' on Crosstown Rebels.

As the story goes Ame & Dixon heard Osunlade play 'Envision' out in America, were completely bowled over by it, rushed the DJ booth and immediately asked to remix and release it. They did and it turned out to be quite possibly the biggest record of 2011. To coincide with the release of the Osunlade In The House compilation Defected have re-released the record with brand new remixes ensuring that this summer will be once again dominated by the vocal sounds of 'Envision'.

Argy's vocal and dub take things into classic mid 90's new York-esque territory; Garage sounding bass line, looped vocal intro... if you didn't know any better you'd be forgiven for thinking that was from the hand of a certain Mark Kinchen.

Tom Findlay and Tim Hutton form Sugardaddy, responsible for the tasty cover of the notorious classic 'How Long' from Ace.

Slamming remastered reissue of über-rare Detroit electro gold 'Mill-Due' by T.Mack on tiny label Megas. For the momentous Crosstown Rebels #100, one of electronic music's great innovators makes his long-awaited comeback as Tiga. The Montreal avant-gardist's first original work in four years 'The Picture' is big, bad and heavy in every sense. Factor in an outstanding remix of 'Pleasure From The Bass' from wonder boy Subb-an and you have a very special landmark release indeed.Tiga has always had a knack of injecting freaky character into the tantalizing late night music he crafts and with 'The Picture', Tiga literally bulldozes all expectation giving Crosstown Rebels an unforgettable flash of rave imbued dark pop-electro tech. Pollyns 2nd single is a set or re-edits/interpretations and remixes of some their influences and inspirations. Hailing from LA, Pollyn are vocalist Genevieve Artadi, guitarist Anthony Cava, and beat maker/percussionist Adam Jay Weissman.

Phonica Special Editions follow up their inaugural release with an EP featuring three remixes of singer, producer and Toronto native, Sandro Perri. Sandro has released more than a dozen solo and collaborative records under his given name as well as under the Polmo Polpo & Glissandro 70 monikers, mainly on Canadian cult imprint Constellation.
Love & Light / The Drums Remixes' features reworks from Worst friends Tom Croose and Slow Hands. Fresh from his recent outing on Resista, Tom Croose is kept busy with not one, but two remixes of mr Perri. First up and taking up the whole of side A, 'Love & Light' - originally on 2011's 'Impossible Spaces' - gets a subtle electronic re-rub with restrained electronic flourishes that gently complement the original's organic, ethereal sound - a weirdly captivating, mystical trip! All that, while getting boosted from a criminally short three and a half minutes to a more respectable nine plus...
Next up is Slow Hands, Tom Croose's partner in Worst Friends who has released on Wolf+Lamb. He takes 'The Drums' (a track from Sandro's debut album 'Tiny Mirrors') to places where it's never been before. by re-imagining the song into a breezy summer anthem where old school electric piano stabs, handclaps and a general feel-good vibes take centre stage.
Rounding off this excellent remix 12' we have Tom Croose again, who returns for another version of 'The Drums' and harmoniously marries synth riffs and a laid back groove with Sandro's signature contemplative vocal, rounding off this excellent remix package in style.

A classically trained pianist from the age of six, Jarrah McCleary grew up in the sticky heat of the Northern Territory, Australia. His previous project, The Dirty Secrets saw the band working between Australia and London with iconic producer and engineer, Nick Terry (Klaxons, Libertines). After working on ideas for a new record for over two years, in early 2011, McCleary declared a new album and boarded the airplane, bound for Los Angeles. Between splashes of yacht rock, trop-pop and nods to Peter Gabriel (thanks to the iconic '80s Yamaha DX7 synth), a short summer experience in the 'city where dreams are made' lead to tracks tinged with hints of hopeful house music strewn with the sleaziness of Venice beach and too much free poured tequila. And so, Panama was born. Magic is a modern summer anthem. And what better way to celebrate the party season than some bonus remix action by the worlds most avid dance enthusiasts The Sydney-based quartet join forces with DFA heavyweights and Panama fans, Midnight Magic and Gavin Russom (The Crystal Ark) on remixing duties for their debut release.

The original mix takes us to a funky-sexy journey, followed by a deep bass-line hook. The track keeps on growing till the main vocal surprise reveals itself by the likes of Miss Kathy Diamond (also the lead singer of the successful band "The KDMS"); Beautiful and dreamy vocal wrapped with lush chords...perfect way to start your sunset escape.

The remix comes from Alex Agore; another promising producer who keeps making a name for himself in the industry. Reminiscing the 90's early house days, Alex is taking us to his own retro-world with warm piano chords and yet again Kathy's magical vocal complimenting the groove perfectly.

Here we go with the launch of MB Disco's sub label. It's a vinyl only label which will release all kind of edits from the coolest people all around the globe. We keep the family name MB and add EDITS, so, MB EDITS is the name.

First out is an edit of Chris Rea's Josephine. This Balearic classic hasn't been done too many times so we thought, let's do it. The two edits comes from Chris Coco and Dalminjo and both of them follow in the footstep of Todd Terje's edit of On The Beach. So expect two mixes which hasn't destryoed the original feeling of Rea's versions.

The second Apollo Krieg release presents the krautpop house sounding 'CHANGE' by Mille & Mr.Hirsch. The remix on the flipside ( Side K ) is made by the italien producer Paolo di Nola a.k.a. COSMIC METAL MOTHER from Rome. His 'Rainy Woods Mix' is a melancolic cosmic mirror of 'CHANGE'.

The A side is HUGE, a special edit of a rare live JB recording. B side features 'I Can U Can' an awesome mid tempo number, the 12' is rounded off with the soulful 'Looking 4 U'. Yam Who getting back to the old school vibes on this one, killer release!

The latest release from Montreal's growing Infinite Machine label is a new 12" from young Russian producer Nocow, alias of St. Petersburg native Alexey Nikitin. The Like Apart EP follows previous releases on labels like Anton Zap's Ethereal Sound and Hamburg-based Fauxpas Musik, which re-released Nocow's Juno chart-topping Ruins Tape LP in June. The new EP, available digitally and physically on August 6th, takes the listener by the hand and on a tour through a clouded new atmosphere: all four tracks on Like Apart are crafted from the ground up by Nocow's forward-thinking use of garage and 2-step shuffle, rounded out with a deep bass that sinks into your bones while disembodied melodies call you further into a dream. The Russian bass music landscape remains a murky mystery to many of us, but Nocow shows listeners that despite being far away, he's very much entangled in the intricate webs connecting the UK bass world and American house and techno. Let the Like Apart EP pull you away from the white noise of the real world and into a momentary reverie with Nocow's own brand of lo-fi, beat-driven ambience.
