After a long break, Fiakun Team and El_Txef_A join forces again, for this second colaboration at the studio. 'Something about the way your hair falls in your face", is pure summer love. Original mix was recorded by the guys at the 'Tigerskin' studio in Berlin while El_Txef_A was recording some drafts for the new album. Adding to the original the fiakun guys, include a extended groove mix of the track, wich will be more tasty for the long vinyl track lovers. solo album by Alex Barck. It intensifies the thrill of anticipation even
further. Once again Barck chose one of his personal favorite voices -
the one by Swedish singer Jonatan Bäckelie aka Ernesto. His
vocals make the orchestral arrangement shine in bright light and is so
full of love that you can't stop yourself from grinning broadly while

Alles begann in einer schicksalhaften Nacht in Gießen, wo die Jungs zu Hause sind. Wie die meisten zufälligen Rendezvous unserer Zeit geschah es in einer Bar: DJ legt bis tief in die Nacht auf und Barkeeper mixt, was das Zeug hält. Als für beide das Ende ihrer Schicht naht, wagt Barkeeper ein paar Gesangseinlagen. Das fällt DJ auf. Er lädt Barkeeper zu einer Jam-Session ein, im bescheidenen Studio eines Dritten. Barkeeper ist hocherfreut. House ist eigentlich nicht so sein Ding, aber er tritt seit Jahren auf und jammt, und so sagt er sofort zu. Das Ergebnis ist "Daydream", eine sanfte und doch satte, glutvolle kleine Ballade, die dabei so gut ist, dass für ihre Veröffentlichung ein brandneues Label gegründet wird. Es folgten verschiedene weitere Releases, die den Fokus auf Chasing Kurt lenkten. So wurde ihr Track "Money" von Maya Jane Coles für ihre DJ-Kicks-Mix-Compilation ausgewählt. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit hat das Trio mit Riesenschritten sein ganz eigenes Dance-Podest erklommen. A refreshing deep house tune, upholding the basics of the genre, yet enhancing them and experimenting in various ways, a rare sight for younger artists. Sweet bass line, nice non-tiring kicks, ambient sounds and low vocals sounding like subliminal rites, producing a sensual result that should satisfy the demanding deep house listener. Remarkable rise and drop of intensity during different parts of the track, mid voices spanning across a few measures to enrich the different parts, and many other little touches, make the track sound refreshing even after many hearings.

"Painkiller" is indeed a work of a matured musician, even if the young producer has been active for very little time. We are eagerly waiting for more work from the talented artist, with all hopes that quality will rise to even higher standards. The remixes of "Painkiller" were assigned to the expert hands of Ted Alexander, Nick Devon and JMP & DJ Freespirit. By manipulating the parts of the track and adjusting them to their unique style, they delivered different versions, adding their own taste to the existing trippy character of the track.

Tracing the sonic history of the song from initially being a highlight on the band's debut EP sauna to inclusion on the debut full-length, feels like uncovering the story of the band that produced it. On the song's initial version Rainsbury's voice kept you at arms length. On Seabed his vocal take draws you in, feeling magnetic and intense. It's on this song in particular that you can really mark the changes that Vondelpark have been through over the past 18 months of recording. Rainsbury describes Seabed as a coming of age record, and that's something that could just as easily apply to the impressive transformation Vondelpark have made during its conception.
On remix duties is fellow R&S artist Bullion who always delivers the goods with his remixes and productions, on this mix he seems to be channeling a funky lower east side New York vibe, circa 1979.
Next up are DFA artists Factory Floor who deliver a signature industrial acid workout perfect for the dancefloor.

And again a true international masterpiece on Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold's label: Iranian maestro Namito joins forces with his close friend Rummy Sharma from Dehli (India) who brought these great gospel vocals from a UK children choir to combine them with Namito's amazing studio skills. The result is an outstanding clubtrack with a very positive vibe, just right to start the Ibiza season.

Belgian superstar Kolombo not just did a great remix but also found a singer (Ashibah) to add some fantastic new vocals to the track. A true upgrade.

Let's not forget our bavarian friends Pele & Shawnecy and their driving remix to put the dancefloor onto a complete different level. A Kling Klong highlight for sure.

collecting orders for a repress! 4lux's first offering in 2013 comes from the mind of Italian wonderboy Nicholas. Here he hooks up with singer Stee Downes, known for his amazing collabs with Lovebirds and MCDE amongst others. Things Of The Past is a mesmerizing deep house track with laid back vox and moody instrumentation. The NYC Club Mix has a great Jersey vibe and makes a great alternate version of this beautiful song. Forever Feel It is built around a great string sample taken from a famous funk and soul album from the 70's (no, not the Dexter Wansel sample used by Andres). On this track the bassline nicely develops along the way and Nicholas cleverly added loose drums, vocal bits and funky stabs making this a smooth floor burner. Now Is The Time is an atmospheric house track suitable for your deeper dj-sets! Highly Recommended!

This 4-track EP is a beautiful hybrid of electronic and soul brilliantly put together in a most unique way. Thomas Mullarney and Jacob Gossett, aka Brooklyn duo Beacon, introduced themselves to the world with the No Body and For Now EPs, both released last year on Ghostly International. The EPs were united by minimalist, R&Binfluenced instrumentation, and also by a lyrical theme, with both serving as meditations on the darkness that underpins the most intense of human emotions: love.
The duo's debut album The Ways We Separate both consolidates and develops these ideas. The album focuses, as the title suggests, on the idea of separation - both within the context of relationships and in a more intimate, psychological sense. As Mullarney explains, "The narrative contained inside The Ways We Separate deals with two kinds of separation: one where two entities grow apart, and the other where we grow apart from ourselves. Over the course of a relationship, the two sometimes happen together, one being the result of the other."
Desires, passions and regrets are central to the songs on The Ways We Separate, which take a variety of perspectives to construct a nuanced reflection on the album's central theme. 'Between the Waves' draws a clever analogy between relationships and soundwaves falling out of phase: "I know all the ways we separate/ Where we start to fade at different frequencies." 'Overseer' catalogues a parting of the ways with discomfiting clarity: "Isn't it fine/ Taking it slow/ Watching you watch me walk out your door." And album closer 'Split in Two' explores how th extremes of love and loss can take you far away from being the person you thought you were, making explicit the connection between the two
ideas of separation: "What I'd do for you", sings Thomas Mullarney, "Split myself in half/ Divided into two."
Musically, The Ways We Separate finds Beacon working with a richer sonic palette than ever before —as Gossett says, "The production on this album is much more expansive than anything thing we've done thus far. We spent a lot of time exploring new gear and experimenting with how to pull a wide range of sound out of various instruments. Some of the key sonics that shaped this LP are analogue synthesis, lots of heavily processed guitar work, and vocal layering/processing." While the abiding mood remains that of late-night introspection, the production draws from elements of hip hop and a wide gamut of electronic music, marrying intricate beats and subtle textures to honeyed pop melodies that belie the album's conceptual depth. Rarely has bleakness sounded so pretty - this is a record that's deceptively, compellingly beautiful, an exploration of a place both discomfiting and darkly seductive.

Strong early support from Jackmaster, who used 'Surgeon' in his 2012 Mastermix, as well as X-Press 2, Midland, Redlight and Eliphino, has led to a steady wave of requests for these edits for over a year

Daniel Kyo is an upcoming artist from Valencia who delivers here the Detroit-tingled All I Want in cooperation with Mr. White. This package comes with remixes by the humble Irish man John Daly, who gets way deeper and provides a really touching remix. Kayefes is the new project by DPC A&R Ron Shiller with his buddie Foster - they used to be known as Soultourist - the third member is the young and promising Zurich DJ Kejeblos, who's also known as part of Wavetest. Adriatique need no introduction, their recent releases on labels like Diynamic and Off gained them a big reputation.

On "Naughty", the debut release for Brooklyn-based Free Association, chopped soul vocals bask in the glow of Detroit-styled synths. Underpinning it all is the kind of low slung machine funk a certain Mr. Weatherall is known to gravitate towards. No surprise, considering the legend himself licensed Name In Lights' "Ur Oskunni" for his Masterpiece compilation last year.
Meanwhile, across town, Studio Barnhus doyen Axel Boman continues to chart his own musical path.
His rub of "Naughty" explores a warm and measured approach that has already found favor with his heroes, Dixon and Koze. While Boman's gaze is directed towards the heavens, Bushwick newcomer Cameo Culture has his sights set squarely on the floor. A distinctive bounce permeates the work of this budding house producer, who brings an undeniable disco swagger to his remix.
