2DIY4 is back to release it's third EP! This time it's a classic four tracker consisting of two original tracks by hamburg Indie-band Pool and their remixes by Solomun and Stimming.

After inaugurating the Visionquest label with the now canonical 'Where The Freaks Have No Name'--an EP whose A-side anthem, 'Walk and Talk,' inundated the dance music world with a lovelorn soulfulness--Benoit & Sergio return to the throne of Visionquest with 'New Ships,' the more beautiful younger sister to their debut.
The opening track to the EP, 'Lipstick & Lace,' bounces along on a rubber-ball bassline and artfully selected percussive details before a dexterous vocal line about unfamiliar places adds a melancholic counterweight to the effervescence of the groove. Truncated piano chords and a mammoth synth hook, which fades into the song's second half, elevate the track into pop magic party-mode.

Dedication is an ongoing collaboration of Japanese musicians and Western singers brought together by producer and DJ Felix Dickinson and Japanese artist Mikey Yamada.

Felix Dickinson aka Foolish Felix has been releasing and remixing stellar disco for years, as L.H.A.S., Foolish & Sly and several releases under the name Dedication via his label, Cynic Music.

Felix was part of the legendary Tonka Sound System with DJ Harvey, a pioneer of the early UK House music scene. He also co-hosts the Bring It parties alongside Idjut Boys.

"I Aint Gonna Tell You" is Dedication's DFA debut. The single features the vocals of UK soul singer Brendan Reilly and a remix from DFA alumni DJ Kaos.

On the Prowl's Party Breaks imprint is back, this time with a four-track collection of tunes from label co-owner and the other half of Runaway, Jacques Renault. Here, we find the Brooklyn-based DJ and producer doing one of the things he does best: edits. However, unlike previous releases, Renault is expanding his reach and dabbling in genres he hasn't publicly unleashed before--the 12' begins with an ode to the sounds of early 90s raves (complete with air horns and a Mary J. Blige vocal sample), hops over to the deep house styles of the era with a jam that sounds right out of a Crystal Waters playbook, and finally lands on a couple of electrified, feel-good disco edits, properly (and authentically) embellished with fidgety guitars, sexy vocals, and a dash of piano glitz.

Uplifting and soulful vibes to enrich any open-air beach set, well, notwithstanding that these tracks would enlighten all dark cellar floors anyway. The beats, strings and harmonies form the "Hanging On The Dj Booth" EP are heavily inspired by a cool girl that loves to hang upside down on the DJ Booth at our favorite clubs in Munich - sometimes breaking the DJ booth and getting invoices from the clubs for the damage. Never paying them, but being upset about it, because she thinks that the clubs should pay her for her dancing and hanging on the DJ booth. I try to only play in clubs where this girl is around. If I could, I would marry her.

These tracks are part of the upcoming Christian Prommer album "Ambach" that will be released in October 2013 to celebrate the Compost Black Label issue 100.

Lana Del Rey's 'West Coast' dropped a couple of weeks ago, and the lead single off Ultraviolence keeps Lana's feet firmly planted in retro territory. But instead of channeling some warped hip-pop version of '50s glamour, it has a seedier, vaguely psychedelic '60s vibe. Producer Dan Auerbach eschewed a swollen orchestral arrangement in favor of some lean, analog noir, while Lana sings about smoking and loving and leaving, alternating between a husky whisper and a heavenly coo. It's equal parts sullen and dreamy, which means its classic Lana — with some new tricks. So we bring you these huge remixes to her track, club and party ready, for your listening pleasure. Enjoy.

Welcome reissue of this super-rare 1978 disco classic from Greek singing superstar Demis Roussos. The extended mix of L.O.V.E. Got A Hold Of Me featured on this highly-collectable Canadian 12' pressing from Mercury was a massive favourite of David Mancuso's at his legendary Loft parties and understandably so. A tight percussive groove topped with beautiful swirling strings and the big man's soaring sexy vocals, this special long version provides ten minutes of blissful dubbed-out disco heaven which still rocks dancefloors today for any DJ lucky enough to have a copy. The flip is also rather good, with I Just Live, a very useful funky workout with another positive message that includes some fantastic percussion and great harmonica action. Top class!

'Black Frames' is a creation from two major life transitions for Dave Aju, namely the end of a long-term relationship combined with a move away from his home town of San Francisco. Punctuated with philosophical statements and political punches, the former MC proves he isn't afraid to use his voice and production skills to unite music and passion with his latest album on Circus Company. The outer rhythms of deep-rooted electronic music form the backbone of 'Black Frames', while its veins are filled with the red­-hot attitude hip­hop, outerspace soul, and forthright lyrical content. A remarkable variety of songs covering topics such as personal relationships ('Psylica'), cultural issues ('Race on Haight') and global government actions ('Law') rock alongside bass­-centered dancefloor bombs like 'Nu Threads' and 'Clean St'. Through its body, Aju also tips his hat to 60s psych rock, early 70s fusion, and the soft undertones of blues as can be felt in the Magnum Opus of 'Vins Noirs' with it's full choir finale, the wildly fun and uptempo 'Bee's Birth' and the reflective close of 'When We Drift'. Marcin Czubala has been a busy man of late but the paper work certainly hasn't stopped the creativity flowing. Whilst setting up his own imprint 'Your Mama's Friend', for which he produced the first release, he is now back with a very strong EP for mobilee records 'Just Away'.

This latest release comprises three originals, all infused with an evocative nostalgia. Opening with 'I Can Fly' the pair work in high-pitched synthesizers around a classic 4/4 disco beat, a wonderfully catchy filtered disco vocal hook and an acid style bass, creating a bumping 90s electro vibe with touches of hip-hop aesthetics. 'Beats Can Fly' simply strips back the vocals leaving you with penetrating raw melodies and a crisp drum beat for those wanting things a little grittier.
Closing the release is 'Talking Box', a feel-good number, featuring an electrifying synth hook that ripples through your mind, hooking you from the off. A low-end sub warbles in the background creating a slo-mo rolling groove, whilst bright piano chords lead the way. The 'less is more' approach to the composition does it justice, opting for minimal elements, yet each has a maximum effect, soundly playing off one another to create something retro, heartfelt and enviably captivating.
