Mario Weise, better known as Marlow, is no newcomer to this game. He's been releasing a tirade of quality club orientated dance music productions since 1994. Over the last twenty years he favored us with several releases on prestigious German house/techno labels like Matthias Tanzmann's & Andre Quaas' Leipizig based Moon Harbour Recordings, Berlin's Konsequenz label and Hamburg's Room With A View imprint, to name just a few. But now it's time to give the cards a shuffle and welcome Marlow on Sonar Kollektiv.

Ausgehend von seiner Begeisterung für das Album "The Reckoning" des israelischen Sängers Asaf Avidan, entschloss sich der junge Berliner DJ Jacob Dilßner aka Wankelmut im Winter 2011 dazu einen Remix des Songs "Reckoning Song" anzufertigen. Was ursprünglich als privates DJ Tool für Wankelmuts Club-Gigs gedacht war, entwickelte sich über einen Soundcloud Link zu einem weltweiten Internetphänomen. Bereits im Januar 2012 hatte der Track sowohl bei Soundcloud, als auch bei Youtube sechsstellige Plays und Klicks zu verzeichnen. Wankelmut selbst sah sich mit einer Unmenge an Lizenz- und DJ Bookinganfragen aus aller Welt konfrontiert. Getragen von mehr als sechs Millionen Youtube-Plays und autorisiert von Asaf Avidan, wurde der Track von Columbia / Four Music veröffentlicht und erreichte in Lichtgeschwindigkeit Goldstatus und die No.1 der Charts in
Deutschland, als auch in vielen anderen Ländern wie Österreich, der Schweiz, den Niederlanden, Luxemburg, Belgien und Italien. Nun erscheinen vier Remixversionen auf dieser neuen 12" Remix EP.

The album is featuring their production as well as compositions. With instrumentations by Tenor and beats procured from the vintage gear of Jori Hulkkonen in his Turku studio, Alppihouz by Willis, the album has a warm feeling and yet sufficiently exciting for the electronic house heads. There are plenty of string pads, flutes and flute pads, etc to prick up your ears. COLA&JIMMU once again capture the genuine, old school sound.

"The world is full of colors and beautiful!" is the motto of Antientertainers and this exactly is what they have been translating onto their first 14-track album.

The timbre of the tracks is very diverse, sometimes referencing old-school electro, synthesizer-loving pads and melodies as well as tight rhythms, originating in house and techno. All tracks are being infused with a charming pop-appeal, courtesy of Antientertainer Jens' voice. The special momentum of the tracks lies in their well-balanced interplay of melancholy and lightheartedness. The defined beats develop a special energy that carries the individual basic mood of all their tracks, sometimes bedding them softly, at other times starkly contrasting them or polishing them with a satin feel. In this manner there are small musical stories being told, picturing topics like love, loss, the peculiarity of life in our times or last night's touching conversation.

Antientertainers are shaping this caleidoscope of moods in a very unique musical form, where the melancholic rhythmic fundament is contrasted by hopefully charged vocals. In spite of the coherence in the general tone of the album, the 14 tracks are completely diverse and individual in their character, and cover the whole spectrum from summertime swing for unforgettable open air moments, over the perfect hymn for the dancers flight to cloud no. 9, until the focused track for the upcoming night in a dimmed club.

This album is a scenting fusion of electronic playstyles, which accentuates pop in capital letters and understands diversity not as a badge, but as a fertile medium on which it is built. A seminal record, smooth until the end, animated with the necessary laxity that already moves the heart upon hearing it first. We set sails into the direction of hope, because the world is indeed full of colors and beautiful!

Behind E.B.O's misteryous initials are Sex Ed, B- NY and Odille Lima. Now as band with a powerfull live and well-made remixers, E.B.O consolidate their project through this new EP, published in Oblack Label. 'I told ya' has a soft-house, pop & soul way in wich the rhythmic and electrical bassline with the warm and sexy Odille Lima's voice provide elegance, authenticity and timeless to the track. His strange groove, between carnal and robotic, supported on velvety volcals became this track in a synthetic and deep oasis in contrast of many commercial tech-house and EDM. Finally.. some good music!

The remixes of this new jewel of Oblack called 'I told Ya' in EP format, are of Los Pastores, Pele & Shawnecy and Fabian Argomedo. The bucolic pair from Valencia (Los Pastores) take the track, approach it to them and inmerse it in a kind of slow and foggy far tour-mix. Sure that you dance it this summer at dusk!

On the other hand Pele & Shawnecy climb it to a tech-house field, to provide punch, rhythm and seriousness clubbing. They don't minimize anything of the track, just make more powerfull and danceable with a view to end of afternoon and the beginning of special night.

'Black Frames' is a creation from two major life transitions for Dave Aju, namely the end of a long-term relationship combined with a move away from his home town of San Francisco. Punctuated with philosophical statements and political punches, the former MC proves he isn't afraid to use his voice and production skills to unite music and passion with his latest album on Circus Company. The outer rhythms of deep-rooted electronic music form the backbone of 'Black Frames', while its veins are filled with the red­-hot attitude of hip­hop, outerspace soul, and forthright lyrical content. A remarkable variety of songs covering topics such as personal relationships ('Psylica'), cultural issues ('Race on Haight') and global government actions ('Law') rock alongside bass­-centered dancefloor bombs like 'Nu Threads' and 'Clean St'. Through its body, Aju also tips his hat to 60s psych rock, early 70s fusion, and the soft undertones of blues as can be felt in the Magnum Opus of 'Vins Noirs' with it's full choir finale, the wildly fun and uptempo 'Bee's Birth' and the reflective close of 'When We Drift'. With a decade of releases under his belt and remixes for the likes of Nicolas Jaar, JT Donaldson and Herbert, San Francisco Bay Area native Marc Barrite AKA Dave Aju is a true maverick of the electronic music scene and 'Black Frames' is a proper follow-up, both a literal nod to the classic 60s/70s artwork that hung in his home studio, and a bold statement toward that rare place where breaking a sweat and breaking the rules come together. Aju's distinctive voice, a fixture in his production and live performances, has proven to have a life of its own.

Veryyou Music kicks off with a catchy EP by SoloWg - Self Control is a soulful deep techhouse tune - haunting melody and crisp bassline. Remixes are coming from Nico Pusch (Droomshipp, Damm), Andlee (Karera Records) and Talul (Jeahmon!, Great Stuff).

Our favourite west coast space rock band "Woolfy vs. Projections", or "the Hall and Oates of the dance world" (XLR8R) are back for good. "Set Me Loose" is the first single from their 2012 album "The Return Of Love" , which with its proper songwriting, dreamy atmosphere and psychedelic character became an essential listening delight for all kind of Balearic types over the past summer. "Set Me Loose" is the perfect example for W vs. P unique blend of electronic and acoustic instrumentation and the natural haziness that lives in their music. This makes it a perfect match for Swiss legend Lexx (you have to check out his contribution to the ' originals ' series on Claremont 56), who offers the first remix here. Lexx does what Lexx does best adding a good portion of Excotica, tropical drumming and a certain dubbyness to the original making it a winner on the late night floor.

The Drifter, who had a busy year with setting up his own label Maeve, which he runs with his lads Mano Le Tough and Baikal and with releasing his debut ep on Permanent Vacation in late 2012, comes correct with a hypno house version of "Set Me Loose". He leaves out most of the original's Balearic feeling and adds a punchy kick and an acidy bassline to get it in shape for the more housy floors.

Last but not least in this delicate triumvirate of remixes is El_Txef_A from Bilbao, Spain. Aitor Etxebarria turned quite some heads with his last year's debut album "slow dancing in a burning room" and the mixture of contemporary club music and classic pop elements. He stays close to the original, stripping it down to the basic elements of the groove and the vocals before half way through of the remix an arpeggiated synth appears and introduces the 4/4 bass drum for the second half.

London-based producer and Rinse FM associate Rupert Taylor, aka XXXY, has announced his second release for the Rinse label, featuring a pair of characteristically melody soaked, 'floor ready house tracks.
It's the follow up to 2013's incendiary club hit 'Got Me So', and is the latest in a series of releases from Taylor exploring ghostly house and garage for labels including Infrasonics, Ten Thousand Yen and Orca. Once again, what marks out XXXY's style is his deft way with synthesised melody: alongside sampled voices, everything is drenched in shimmering, spiralling lead lines that bubble with energy.

'Never Enough' builds from a minimalist, dubbed-out opening into a streamlined, acid-flecked house rhythm, whose central bass motif springs wildly around the mix like a rubber ball. 'No More' drops listeners and DJs right into the action from the beginning, coasting upward upon a deliriously catchy three-note organ motif that feels like being thrust into the middle of a peak-time club set. It crescendos with a huge, reverberant breakdown, before a shower of melodic fragments rain down like shards of shattered glass, sending the track into joyful overdrive.

Bristolian duo, Forget Me Not, return to Losing Suki after 2013's "The Stronger" EP, keeping up the pressure with their deep and raw garage house sounds on the "Everything But Love" EP.
The title track balances their trademark blend of smooth vocals, organic percussion and heavy bass. A highly accomplished production, the pianos underpin a great vocal hook, with driving and tribal drums creating the good groove.
For those that can't stomach vocals (and why not, we ask) there's an Instrumental Version where the Balearic tinges of the piano hook really shines through.
On the flip, "I Know" is another well-crafted, modern garage house cut, shimmering keys and rising pads in all the right places with a skippy beat that the New Jersey heads would be proud of.
'Evil" wraps up another solid offering from Forget Me Not, a heads down dancefloor jam with no nonsense bassline to get you properly in the zone.

2007 Klaxons did what pretty much no band have done since: arrive with a fully fledged ideology - new rave. It might be hard to remember now, but back then it was strange seeing a high street normally shifting outfits in various hews of bland flooded with weird neon clothing. On 16th June 2014, Love Frequency, Klaxons' third album drops. While their second record was perceived as a rejection of their dance influenced past, this is a return to it. Once again they've leapt to the front of a queue of none as the only group of people blending the euphoria of today's dance scene with the aesthetics, experimentation and instrumentation of post-punk.

The exceptional singer songwriter, Roachford, has teamed up with Henrik Schwarz for his latest single 'Work it Out'.
Schwarz, who has previously had successful releases on Defected, Innervisions and Mood Music to name just a few, delivers beautiful sounds and wonderful transitions, the feeling of vintage and modern sound art, makes this remix indispensable.

After their stunning 2012 debut single "Wish" (FM X / Wish 001) and last year's "Diggin' On You" (D.O.C. 001), the incredibly gifted ELEKFANTZ return to the fore with what can only called a brilliant full-length premiere. The duo of Daniel and Leo first met 20 years ago, when they played together in a blues band. Leo continued his carreer as a professional musician while Daniel started to discover a new musical path.

The latter was born and bred at the electronic music temple in South America, later becoming a resident DJ and local hero, known as the right guy to prepare the dance floor and set up the right mood. He's one of the finest DJs of the Brazilian new wave of electronic aficionados. Leo is a professional drummer, singer and composer since the age of 15. He played and recorded with some of the greatest artists in Brazil.

Their debut album DARK TALES AND LOVE SONGS sports all the intimate melodies, lush harmonies and organic undertones that the duo has become know for and then some: from pop-infused songwriter house to highly emotive prime time anthems, you'll find lots to love about this expertly crafted collection of melodic gems.
