Tracing the sonic history of the song from initially being a highlight on the band's debut EP sauna to inclusion on the debut full-length, feels like uncovering the story of the band that produced it. On the song's initial version Rainsbury's voice kept you at arms length. On Seabed his vocal take draws you in, feeling magnetic and intense. It's on this song in particular that you can really mark the changes that Vondelpark have been through over the past 18 months of recording. Rainsbury describes Seabed as a coming of age record, and that's something that could just as easily apply to the impressive transformation Vondelpark have made during its conception.
On remix duties is fellow R&S artist Bullion who always delivers the goods with his remixes and productions, on this mix he seems to be channeling a funky lower east side New York vibe, circa 1979.
Next up are DFA artists Factory Floor who deliver a signature industrial acid workout perfect for the dancefloor.

Strut, in conjunction with Ambassadors Reception and Future Nuggets, presents the first ever retrospective of fabled band Rodion G.A., one of Romanias best kept musical secrets of the last 30 years.
As a band, Rodion G.A. were a unique phenomenon in their homeland at the time, operating in their own universe during a prolific period of recording from 1978 to 1984 at a time of significant political repression under the Ceausescu regime. Bandleader, Rodion Ladislau Rosca, was an enigma. As half-Hungarian, half-Romanian, he lived near the border in Cluj, a city with a healthy music culture which had spawned important prog rock bands incuding Cromatic, Experimental Quintet and Semnal M. Here, Rodion managed to find vinyl, becoming known amongst friends as King Of Records. As such, he became equally as steeped in the major Western rock artists of the era Hendrix, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin as he was many of the electronic pioneers. He met Kraftwerk during their early days.
Despite the political conditions, a music scene existed in Romania, mainly within a network of festivals around the country and in seaside towns at restaurants and clubs. Bands would push the rules, often playing Western covers and venue owners had to be careful, getting to know when inspectors may drop by. Rodion was no exception. He remembers one occasion when an inspector came to listen to a band soundcheck. Despite singing in Romanian, the inspector pulled them up for singing yeah yeah yeah during a chorus.
From the start, Rodion was concerned with his own style of composition and set himself apart from the predominant rock sounds that dominated Romanian music during the late 60s. Technically and in his compositions, he was obsessed with every detail. His first sessions were recorded during 1969-1972 - simple, sparse and haunting pieces using reel to reel recorders, based around vocals, guitars and improvised drums. In 1975-6, Rosca formed Rodion G.A., the G.A. comprising band members Gicu Frca.
and Adrian Cpraru. Rosca had amassed equipment and became a DIY tech wizard, improvising his own techniques of composing using reel to reels. Surrounded by three or four Tesla tape machines, he would record beats and guitar on one channel of the tape, then stop and add other instruments on the other a raw means of multi-tracking. He would use the other machines to add effects and delays on both instruments and vocals. Other tools in his armoury included an East German Vermona drum machine, a toy Casio VL Tone and a small Russian organ to which he added phaser, flanger and delay pedals. For the bands gigs, he even made by hand his own rig with Rodion G.A.-branded speaker boxes and amps. From the start, the bands sound was incomparable to other contemporaries. Other Romanian musicians like Mircea Florian had moved from a folkrock background to experiment with more electronic productions but Rodion was different - dense electronic sounds, raw programmed rhythms, intricate arrangements, prog and classical touches.
The bands recorded output in Romania at the time was sparse. There was only one label operating, the State-owned Electrecord, and they recorded two tracks by Rodion G.A. for a compilation, Romanian Rock Vol. 6. In 1981, the tracks were picked up by radio and Rodion even hit the top of the Romanian charts for several weeks. Beyond this, no other releases surfaced and yet the band recorded prolifically during the early 80s. Other records nearly materialised the band scored the soundtrack to an animated movie, Delta Space Mission in the mid-80s but the tracks were refused by the film company who then employed prolific Romanian electronic / pop producer Adrian Enescu for the job. The bands only other documented performance during their career was a show on Romanian television celebrating New Years Eve in 1980. Rodion G.A. eventually split in 1987 following a gig at Mangalia Festival and Rodion then walked away from music following the death of his mother.
Fast forward to 2012 when the myth of Rodion G.A. came to the attention of excellent Romanian production and DJ crew, Future Nuggets, a collective as dedicated to unearthing Romanias musical past as they are forging new sounds steeped in the countrys traditions. As well as this album, a partnership with Steve Kotey of Ambassadors Reception has led to a compilation of their own studio work including their acclaimed psych-jazz album as Steua da Mare.
Rodion GA The Lost Tapes is released on Strut / Ambassadors Reception / Future Nuggets on May... remastered from the original tape reels. Rodion G.A. backed by Steua da Mare will be touring fully across Europe from Summer 2013.

A set of minimal synth recordings, captured live with in-studio performance. These pieces are a tribute to the golden era of electronic music that mainly emerged in Europe between 1978-1984 and is often described as minimal electronics, synthpop, synthwave etc. Sinister melodies, shadows and frost making up a haunting, dystopian sonic environment. Drum machines driving step sequencers and mono-synths, hand played polyphonic synthesisers, all enveloped by the industrial sound of the spring reverb. He only feels night within.

Archie Pelago combines their varied backgrounds in jazz and classical music with a common love for rhythm and the wide-open possibilities of electronic music. 'Ball Of Fire' precedes, the release of new album, 'More Tales From The Orbservatory', the follow-up to last year's stellar collaboration between The Orb and long-time inspiration Lee Scratch Perry; 'The ORBSERVER In The Starhouse'.
Unsurprisingly the sessions for that album produced more music than one CD could handle, so Scratch, Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann are returning in fine style with this new album. The headline tour follows their slot supporting label-mate Plan B on his sell out arena tour, and Australia's Future Music tour (alongside Stone Roses & Prodigy), and a US tour taking in SXSW and a main-stage slot at Miami's Ultra Festival.
With a melting pot of influences stamped firmly across the brilliant and adventurous forthcoming album - soulful songs, live instrumentation and massive club tunes - the tour will showcase a wealth of new material and deliver the hits, including one of 2012's biggest hits - the Brit Nominated 'Feel The Love.'

"A good friend of ours said after hearing an advance copy of this record that ADULT. used to
sit on the sidelines and critique the idiosyncrasies of culture, but now we are on the inside,
sending our message out." So says Adam Lee Miller of The Way Things Fall, ADULT.'s fifth
album and a record that genuinely deserves the oft-abused music industry epithet "long-
awaited." Miller pauses before adding wryly, "We agree."
The Way Things Fall is an album that looked like it might never happen, because since the
release of Miller and his partner Nicola Kuperus' last record — 2007's Why Bother — the
duo have been largely absent from the world of music. "After a long world tour, we totally
burnt out," Miller relates. "We decided we wanted to do something completely different."
That something was a trilogy of films entitled the Three Grace(s) triptych, completed in
2010, along with a variety of other pursuits, including managing a major commercial
renovation and working on their visual art projects.
When Miller and Kuperus re-entered the studio in 2012, there was no intention of making
another album — they planned to record a 12" containing two new songs they'd written in
2012 for their return to live performance at the Detroit Museum of Contemporary Art. But it
turned out that the time away from music had recharged ADULT.'s batteries, and then some.
"We were apparently a dam that was ready to break," says Miller. "We were writing
frantically, as if in a frenzy."
The result is a record that sounds both focused and coherent, flowing with a conceptual
ease. "(The album) flowed efficiently and agreeably for us," says Miller. "We have never
worked better together. We believe this is because we exorcised all of our demons through
our past records, we have no baggage, we started anew. We left behind the self-conscious
adolescents." And indeed, ADULT. have never sounded so self-assured, so poised, and so
vital.

To coincide with its ten year anniversary, Domino is to reissue Four Tet's seminal album, Rounds, on 13th May 2013. The reissue will feature the album as well as a live set from Copenhagen recorded near the time of the original release.

Electronic music heavyweight Rex the Dog joins the Southern Fried stable for his latest single release, the stunning vocal anthem 'Do You Feel What I Feel', backed with remixes from Rex himself and Tiger & Woods and the energy packed b-side 'Bonn'...
London based artist Jake Williams AKA Rex The Dog has been something of a creative enigma since bursting on the scene nearly a decade ago. An obsession with classic synthesizers, and the Korg 700S in particular, helped define his early sound whilst a fascination not only with the music making process but all things creative led Williams to have a hand in everything from the artwork, to the packaging, to the videos that accompanied his music. Alongside releases on pivotal labels such as KOMPAKT and Kitsune he also ran his own Hundehaus Recordss and more recently launched a bi-monthly club night, BREED at East London's Dalston Superstore.
For his latest musical offering Rex The Dog has joined forces with vocalist Jamie McDermott from The Irrepressibles for a record that strikes a timeless note with its arpeggiated bassline and soaring vocal melodies. The package opens with the original version of 'Do You Feel What I Feel', showcasing Williams' deft production, weaving layers of retro synths, bass and drum programming around McDermott's falsetto vocal, the end result comes on like a modern day Bronski Beat, with real depth and passion dripping from every note. This is followed by another original gem from Williams in the shape of 'Bonn', an energy packed, pulsating synth affair that is certain to find favour with Rex The Dog fans everywhere.

Ten years ago, 'We Are Your Friends' reached our ears and pushed Justice to the front of the scene, a young French duo signed by Pedro Winter on the label he had just created: Ed Banger Records. The record that followed, †, was an album of condensed jerky electro, of disco reminiscences and heavy metal energy, with unstoppable tunes like 'D.A.N.C.E', 'Stress' and 'Phantom', and its videos, allowed Justice to follow the 90's French Touch and its filtered disco loop. Since the release of their debut album in 2007, Justice has been tirelessly touring the world by bus, road festival to festival and concerts all over throughout the planet. Since their first tour, the band developed a powerful stage design that they polished and magnified throughout the years and the gigs. The wall of vintage Marshall amps front of the stage, an imposing cross, impressive light shows, and the sound of Justice totally revisited for the live shows. In 2012, the Audio, Video, Disco took them from Australia to United States, Europe and South America. The duo - as laidback on rock festivals main stage (Coachella, Lollapalooza, Les Eurockéennes, Les Vieilles Charrues...) as electro ones (Ultra, Sonar, Melt...) - will perform a hundred of concerts which allow them to master their show. When the first notes of 'Genesis' rang out as an intro, you realized you had just embarked on a one and a half hour sonic roller coaster with their hit songs mashed into a megamix with an epileptic light show.
