Banlieue Records starts the year 2017 with the release of Blasphema Eternal, the imprint's sixth record, which will in fact be the only VA release of the year as the label will focus on artist EPs.

It features ve very di erent cuts that somehow t perfectly together under Banlieue's common thread: a timeless feel, tracks that are full of detail but often understated, a breath of fresh air ready to lift up bodies and minds on the dance oor and anywhere else.

First comes a club-ready dubbed out track by duo Nummer, then a rather ambient tune reminiscent of IDM's nest moments by Michigan's own D'Marc Cantu. On the ipside, a machine funk track of an electro persuasion by label boss Benoit B, followed by uptempo dance oor abstraction by Mir and some lo- jackbeat deepness courtesy of Wul us featuring lyrics in French by Jack Tezam.

The first full length album for Berlins current finest psychedelic electronica act is a highly optimistic dance album with dark undertones, featuring a unique sonic palette of analogue synths, alien guitars, organic sequencing and otherworldly vocals!

Hailing from London, London Modular Alliance are a trio of modular enthusiasts, often performing live, completely on the fly using modular synths and live improvisation. Members include Koova , Yes Effect and Pip Williams , but on this new EP for Hypercolour , Pip Williams AKA Phil Venture strikes alone with four devastating cuts. With previous releases on UK techno label Brokntoys and the Kirk Degiorgio's Applied Rhythmic Technology (ART) label , LMA continue a fine run of releases with the 'Home Grown' EP . The production aesthetics across the four cuts are second to none; 'Civic Society' pairs up dark atmospherics and driving electro beats that furl into rolling breaks, whilst 'Home Grown' is a pacey and bustling burner. More forward motion electro vibes are in evidence on 'Lucid' , and EP closer, 'Saunton' combines dense ambience, broken beats and acidic bass, all with a gloss and shimmer that makes the music of London Modular Alliance so engaging. Influenced by the classic sounds of the US midwest, these four analog jams span the spectrum of nostalgic rave, electro, spacey house and deep Chicago jack. Vinyl debut for Asher Gray, a multi­instrumentalist and production veteran also known for his collaborations in his side project Mangos with Richard From Milwaukee of Jolly Jams fame.

Quartet Series is back with the Bodybuilder Series after Scott Franka's popped the new offshoot's cherry in the spring. For this sophomore release, Nachtbraker sourced some serious production talent from Eindhoven, The Netherlands. While it's the Portamento Boys' first ever release, they have the chutzpah to go full-frontal Italo and pull it off with great panache with a moody and energetic EP. The record is characterized by catchy melodies, quirky vibes and warm analog grooves. Connoisseurs will instantly recognize the TR-606 and 707, SH-101, Ensoniq Esq1 and a Casio CZ-3000. The Italo express jets off and takes no prisoners with 'Been There Come Back", a banging workout paying homage to the glorious 80's. Shoulder-pad boogie anyone 'Portamento 101 feels like you're playing the 1986 version of Outrun on your Sega. On the flip 'Final Dinner' serves up some fine Asian-Italian fusion Cuisine, and finally the P Boys drop 'Eighty Ain't", acknowledging that even though the tracks are clearly inspired by the 80s, they didn't just emulate, but innovate instead. Now let's introduce the Portamento Boys. Some say it al began when the first episode of 'Jacques, zo is het wel weer genoeg geweest' was aired on the Dutch box back in the second half of 1988. Others say it was the respect he got for robbing the local Albert Heijn with the famous saying, 'Hallo, Jumbo' that made him end up in solitary confinement. His colleagues say he never let go of Piet, his last undercover assignment. But the only one to help him in these times of mental distress, identity crises and general psychosomatic turmoil was Koos. After all these years there is a mantra to find in Piet's life that keeps him going.

With immediacy of communication we can feel close without ever having to be truly tender to each other.After taking a 4 year break from writing and producing with each other, Ra and Agor rekindled their creative fame in 2016, writing music about an unrequited relationship Ra was experiencing with someone mostly online, constantly battling these contradictory feelings of distance and closeness. As record fows from one song to the next with skits, phone calls, acoustic demos, real life samples and quiet left-turns, she discovers that happiness is derived not from others but from something immaterial within herself. She fnds validation without the need for the other—a valuable lesson whether in real or virtual reality.

Les Cidres. The new sublabel of ANUS Records. We start fresh with our own 7' by Panda Lassow and Compliment aka Les Cidres. They put their strenghts together and combine their bass, electro, dub, house, synth and disco sound with a touch of bedroom and DIY attitude.

Richard Davis is a gentleman with a proper musical history moving from London to Berlin in the late 90s and having some spectacular releases under his belt as a producer, composer and a singer. As a vocalist Richard has collaborated with, among others, Swayzak, Trentemøller and Bomb The Bass. On his new EP 'Safety Net' he is turning his composing skills back to the future and his voice and songs are sounding quite like Post New Wave meets 1980s Scott Walker. Alongside with fantastic remixes by Hamburg´s one and only Ada as well as Norwegian Berlin dude Jarle Bråthen this massive EP is a masterful piece of modern pop music.

TYVYT/IYTYI. A dusty tape of six tracks unearthed beneath the Pinkman Broken Dreams division. Nothing is known about this unnameable artist apart from his sound. A legion of hiss marches across the cassette, a blighted beat bites into lancing synthlines that bellow and writhe in their pitiful attempt to escape. Strings are left to howl in turmoil in tracks born out of a crude joke and wry smile. Mick Wills offers no condolences, the Stuttgart man lashing away any humanity with his embittered edit. Found in the pit, made for the pit.

A lot has happened since AL & THE KIDD stamped its first release and subsequently launched its reissue series debut back in 2011...beginning with the Sir Joe Quarterman E.P., which includes a previously unreleased version of his signature hit I've Got So Much Trouble In My Mind.AK1201 features the boogie funk production by Carl Maxx Kidd, just over 10 minutes of We Like To Party' as a two sided slammer! Considering that the production was recorded in July 1979 at Media Sound, Kidd was destined to get that disco boogie sound. He along with fellow musicians crafted two versions for us.

London's DMK label provides a follow up to it's debut release from Kuba Sojka with another strong release from Stojche who delivers another quality EP of underground house/techno tracks on the Square Chapter EP.

French artist Franck Kartell returns with Alaska, his fourth full length release on UK imprint Bass Agenda Recordings. Critically acclaimed for his masterful blend of low bpm heavy beats and signature deep atmospheres Kartell moves from the fascination with the work of film maker Chris Marker's that powered his last two albums to the drama of Alaska. Like its geographical namesake the album spans ethereal beauty, drama, light and darkness and similarly provides a very individual landscape.

Eleven Pond formed in 1986, released one epic postpunk/synth pop/darkwave LP titled 'Bas Relief' then records songs for a second LP titled 'Assemblage' and the experimental noise project 'Space Trio'. The band breaks up shortly after due to differences in taste, all the 16 track master tapes are shelved. 22 years later the song Watching Trees is rediscovered in Brooklyn NY and club DJ's in the minimal synth scene play Watching Trees. Dark Entries Records reissues 'Bas Relief', the original hand silkscreened vinyl LP becomes a $900 collectors item, invitations for the band to play shows appear on Facebook ... in 2010 Jeff Gallea reforms Eleven Pond and starts recording and performing. They release a cover of the Seasons Are Sitting on Chairs' from Arvid Tuba and a few great songs like Just Be Happy'. As we love the insane modernity of these two songs we decided to release them on Prego and asked Dmitry Distant to remix this happiness anthem. All songs are remastered for vinyl by Isolator, housed in a jacket designed by Anda Masq & Rodeo Basilic.

About Hong Kong Dong:
Hong Kong Dong is a quizzical synth-electronic band from Ghent formed by three distinct minds. Together they evoke a very peculiar and twisted sound. One of the gang members is Bolis Pupul, who has released two EP's on Soulwax' DeeWee label. He is the band's synth guru and singer with a unique and delicate voice that flows like a horny tai chi master. He's also involved with other bands like The Germans, Charlotte Adigéry and wwater. Sister Sarah Yu is the furious female singer and illustrator artist who brings with her the playful vibe of a child tossing around a Play-Doh microphone. The man behind the tweaked beats and guitars is Geoffrey Burton, the maestro guitar player/producer who prefers to make his guitar sound like a synth or a cracking bird. He's been around for some time now, earning his place in bands as Arno, Daan, Alain Bashung, Sophie Hunger and Misia.

Since releasing his last album on Hypercolour in February 2016 ('You Exist'), DMX Krew has not for one moment rested on laurels, releasing two further LPs on the Ekster and Abstract Form labels, as well as EPs and singles for Central Processing Unit, Shipwrec, Revoke and more. Continuing to remain faithful to the roots of electro, IDM and the deeper shades of techno, and without compromise, DMX Krew cranks out emotive and brain scrambling electronica at a mighty rate, and never disappoints. 'Strange Directions' is album number 21 from DMX Krew, and lands once more on Hypercolour, the British label that continues to make heady waves in the music scene with genre shifting releases from the like of Matthew Herbert, Luke Vibert, Gary Gritness, The Cyclist, Outboxx and A Sagittariun in the last 12 months alone. A record produced in cooperation with Unknown Pleasures Records under the 'Black Alliance' project. Michel Amato and Pedro Peñas Robles signed back in 2006 this EBM dacefloor missile that finally will be released in vinyl after 10 years. The techno revelation Alek Drive signs a perfect remix for a sure classical release. All tracks have been analogically remastered specially for this vinyl version by Eric Van Wonterghem. Including Növö Diskö (2006 Original Mix) and Növö Diskö (Alek Drive Remix).

From the tempo-bending noise-house of his 2013 label debut Our Girls to this new Is Everything EP, his eighth original Studio Barnhus release, our buddy Baba has never not amazed us with his unpredictable methods, rigorous work ethic and life-changing trax. Light years ahead !

Despite building their careers out of strikingly different musical places, both dBridge and Radioactive Man have taken influence from the field in which each other operate. dBridge (Darren White) was part of the iconic drum & bass outfit Bad Company and he helms one of the scene's most solid and quality imprints in Exit Records and Radioactive Man (Keith Tenniswood) was born from the acid house scene and the off kilter electronics of his Two Lone Swordsman projects (alongside Andrew Weatherall) which led him to create his decidedly UK take on Drexciyan electro. It's by no means a stretch to learn that both producers have crates that contain their favourites from each genre but they've also found a mutual respect and connection in the studio over the last few years, leading to the dBRm moniker for Craig Richards' The Nothing Special label

Dutch producer Bas Bron aka Fatima Yamaha has been hammering out quality releases under numerous aliases for more than a decade now. Nevertheless it wasn't until the 2015 re-Vissuing of his fourteen-year-old track 'What's A Girl To Do' on Dekmantel Records, that his gush into the underground forefront has now exhilarated his unique talent. Fatima Yamaha starts of the 2017 year of Dekmantel Records with his second EP for the Amsterdam label and 'Araya' promises to be a worthy successor of his 2015 success.
The title track 'Araya' is the absolute eye catcher of this EP. Already tested in Fatima Yamaha's highly anticipated live-sets in the last months, with great response, 'Araya' is a dramatic curtain raiser that only he can make. Next to that, Bron effectively spills his keen ear for melody on the A-side with his typical electro-funk with 'Piayes Beach Bar And Grill'. On the flip crystalline synth drops, a classic piano and skipping drums are the main ingredients for 'Romantic Bureaucracy'.

With the Asexual EP by YobKiss, Electronic Emergencies is back with a true electronic delight. YobKiss consists of Dutch instrumentalist and producer Paul Borchers, currently based in San Fransisco, and Tokyo resident Yuko Araki on vocals. Their music balances on the edge of avant-garde electronics and flirts with acid pop in dreamy soundscapes, with an analogue synth sound and beautiful vocals in Japanese and English. Or, in their own words, a pitch-dark, filth-ridden tour de force into the worlds of acid house and electro.

Remixed by Jon Dixon of Underground Resistance's Timeline, APF first EP was released by once legendary producer Orlando Voorn (Fix, Game One, Baruka). On the A side he achieves to capture Akira's spirit with his own organic and floating sound signature within a long, delicate and trippy techno number while on the flipside Dj Yogurt, a regular figure of Tokyo's nightlife who worked at Cisco Records, delivers two straight percussive numbers fueled with traditional Japanese flavor to take the most discerning floors to a Tetsuo state-of-mind. ustice are a French electronic music duo consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. The band's debut album † was released in June 2007 to critical acclaim. The album was later nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album and came in at number 15 on Pitchfork's Top 50 Albums of 2007 and number 18 on Blender's "25 Best Albums of 2007" list.The band's remix of the MGMT song "Electric Feel" won the Grammy Award for Best Remixed Recording in 2009.
The band released its second album "Audio, Video, Disco" in 2011.
