Anom Vitruv continues to go against the tide with his second Mini LP on Tabernacle Records.

Laurent Garnier is a legend. In 2014 he returns to production with a new project dedicated to his neverending quest for new sounds and styles. Five labels, five releases, five styles, all Garnier. The second release in this new project is the A13 EP, released by Musique Large. Garnier has been a long-standing fan of the label and its music, and here he delivers four devastating instrumental cuts that show he can throw down with the best of the new blood, beat for beat. This is an unusual release for the French techno pioneer, a timeless take on electronic hip hop beats. The game is up kids, make space for a true master. «A13» comes backed with four remixes straight from the Musique Large family & Garnier: Baron Retif & Conception Perez, label boss hits two times as Fulgeance and his new project Claude (with Darius Broobecker) plus french house wizzard S3A.

Kicking off a busy year for Crazylegs, our first release of 2014 is a debut 12' of dizzying club experiments from one of the UK's most unique emerging producers, Gage.

Telo's stuttering kicks and skewed synth blasts have already become a staple in the sets of Slackk, Brackles, Logos, Murlo and Bloom. On the flip Shiftin ups the violence, reconfiguring a punishing drum track with all the rudeness of 8-bar grime. This release represents a full circle of sorts for Gage. Originally from South London but now based in Bristol, he cites a 2011 Crazylegs party as being a big turning point in his direction as a producer. Fast forward to 2014 and we're proud to be putting out his first record.

Gage makes his Rinse FM debut on 15th Feb with a guest mix on Brackles' show. Telo / Shiftin is out on ltd 12' and digital early March.

The second E.P. from James Murphy's talented nephew, M|O|O|N is a three track release which shows the full scope of his abilities. A-side track, 'Plus Four' is a bleepy techno track aimed squarely at the dancefloor. On the B-side are two cinematic tracks; the John Carpenter-esque, 'Delay' and the gloriously beautiful Space-Station sex scene theme, 'Dust'. Tracks from the EP will be featured on the soundtrack to the second Hotline Miami video game.

Wrong Island Communications is a Glasgow born, London-based techno label run by the DJs behind the long running club of the same name.

The over 70 minutes of "Bauteile" (German for "construction parts") were recorded from 1987 through 2013 and edited into a continuous flow over the last three years. AtomTM and Marc Behrens met during the heyday of the German Techno movement and have since ever pursued extensive trend research in all areas of contemporary music. Their findings, a sonification of their research, which spans effectively two centuries of musical development, are now released as an album for the first time by Editions Mego.

Stargazer is Brandi Ifgrays second solo album. It was recorded in NYC summer 1998 and was produced by Jimi Tenor. Maurice Fulton was playing on several songs. Prior to the album release he remixed 3 of the album songs on Puu-14.

Tokyo, Japan's Ena makes his debut for the Samurai Horo label with the 'Bacterium' EP. Now signed to Horo for a full album project later in 2014, this EP lays down the foundations for the unique experimental form Ena's music has developed into and has been refined for his Samurai Horo projects. Totally unlike anyone else operating in music today, his music is deceptively complex, focusing on transforming organic sounds into powerful motifs that haunt your consciousness. In February Various release the first offering from new signing 'hardware', already getting airplay from Rob Da Bank (Radio 1), Marry Anne Hobbs (Radio 6) and John Kennedy (Xfm). This 12' will definitely start of a busy year to a great start.
Checking One - Future proofed Tech-Jungle beat droplets fight their way through a corridor of synths. Vocal stabs drift from locked rooms each containing their own distinctive drum pattern. Half way through the track salvation is reached, doors open and all the components meet with a realisation that dark may lead to light, part Soul, part nervous, part shrouded horror entity.
In 1996 Drum and Bass label Liss Fuzion put out its final release Your Move by owner and producer Pager B-TZ. Taking inspiration from this little heard classic hardware have re-worked and re-chopped. With Your Move they soften all the edges of the jittery beats and use drum and bass sounds that float in and out. Your move feels re-assuring, filtered and like a memory of that track, that stayed in the back of your head for weeks but you could never recall where you heard it.
In 2014 the label will release an app including exclusive material from forthcoming music from 'hardware' also an album due in June 2013.

Valcrond Video presents the next work by sound and image artist Luke Wyatt, ""Songs From Bad Kid School"". On a high desert plain, inside a cinder block compound, a prank squad is incarcerated. Between fiddling with ninja stars and leafing through back issues of Fangoria, they find time to scrape out the soundtrack of their escape. On the first track, heatsick guitars and steel wool beats suggest a landscape strewn with abandoned car carcasses, old Camaros left for dead in the sun, used for shotgun practice. The B-side leads off with the beat-less, articulated sprawl of ""Saline Flats"". Here is the story of a desert search for water: figures warping mirage-like on the horizon as they make a confused journey over dunes, ending with a cathartic drone that suggests the mirages resolving into a real oasis. Though it is just as likely that the bad kids have expired from thirst, and ascended to the sublime."

'Leave This Island' surges with a drumbeat and ripple of keyboards harnessed with Paul Smith's vocal, before cascading into a sweep of uplifting emotion: a band on top of their game. Recorded in Sunderland with the band's keyboardist Lukas Wooller and Field Music's Brewis brothers - David and Peter, at the helm, 'Leave This Island' 12" comes complete with exclusive B-side 'A Vague Implication', a remix of 'Leave This Island' courtesy of Mogwai and a mix of 'Brain Cells' from the hand of Dave Okumu.

What started out as fun and games quickly developed into a tit for tat before spiralling out of control into something far more sinister. And like some demented Kamikaze pilot on LSD Light sounds dark took on this force of ancient lineage in its own backyard with no thought for her own safety demanding only that the stakes were raised at every turn in this inevitable game of death.. Why.. All is fair in love and war so the saying of the old go's and no one was hurt.. not physically anyway. Light sounds dark is bruised and battered mentally fatigued and waves the white flag hoping to be pardoned. The war must thaw and in the enforcers own words the WALL MUST COME DOWN!

To mark this historic occasion Light sounds dark looks deep into her cellar and must reach for the good stuff the real deal vintage not your everyday cheap wonk. And so it seems fitting that the first ever signing to Light sounds dark all the way back in 2009 is pulled out for just such an occasion. An album that has gone down in electronica folk law straight out of Berlin 1981 Die Partei and their third world masterpiece the incredible ''La Freiheit Des Geistes''.

RiYL: Cabaret Voltaire, Suicide, 808 State.. We are very pleased to introduce you to Prolife, an anti-suicide band formed out of the ashes of death rock enthusiasts and label alumni Slug Guts. After Slug Guts' last U.S. tour, James Dalgliesh (vocals) and Nicholas Kuceli (saxophone) returned to their flat on Lygon St. in Melbourne, Australia and decided to buy some pedals to make noisy landscapes for the modern asthmatic gentleman to lie awake to at night. Using toy keyboards (and some real ones) they developed minimal two track techno into a set of sprawling song based sets and played some shows with Jonny Telafone, Forces, Asps and Lakes. Their first proper release, this 7', was recorded and produced by themselves with the help of Todd Dixon, who has specifically asked not to be named here. They are planning to record an LP in 2014.

A powerful metaphor for new love forms the centre of Bonobo's new single, First Fires. A perfect representation of what makes new album The North Borders so profound, Grey Reverend's verbal subject matter is married inextricably to Simon Green's delicate, highly charged production. This is no random guest vocal, it's a perfectly conceived, powerfully moving love song. The opening bars evoke the tentative drama of beginning to fall in love; the bass textures and gradually strengthening percussion fill the listener with anticipation. Green is now a master of his art, his genius showing in the small touches - delicate percussions, beautiful, unexpected chord changes - and adding up to a bigger picture that's genuinely moving. The track swells and swirls, moving naturally from a minimal beginning to something much fuller and richer. The more emotionally in touch among us might compare that to the process of love itself.

B side "Heaven For the Sinner", Bonobo's much vaunted collaboration with the legendary Erykah Badu, makes this single a true microcosm of The North Borders itself. Brimming with confidently expressed emotion, thrilling change- ups and a beautiful performance from Badu, it sees Green at the absolute peak of his powers. "Heaven For the Sinner" is a genuine meeting of minds, and in Erykah Badu, Bonobo appears to have found a true musical soulmate, and the ultimate vocal expression of where he's at as a musician.
Finally, bonus track "Know You" allows the music to breathe and focuses on moving the feet as much as the mind. A two-step glitch drives shifting textures and a dramatic arpeggio before giving way to a vocal clip that deepens the song's mood. It's difficult to imagine a better way to dive headlong into The North Borders' wonders.

We Can Elude Control presents the debut album from London based electronic musician Roberto Crippa. Reverse brings together a body of work that draws influence from the worlds of noise, electroacoustic composition and musique concrète, forming a powerful and ritualistic study of sonic structure and material. Within the sculptural engineering of silence, space and raw electronics, Crippa employs a variety of sources ranging from wood, metal, drum skin and amplified concrete, constructing an innovative narrative exploration of sonic depth and contrast.



The album reflects Crippa's work as one of London's key performers within the noise and improvised music scene, crafting a refined expansion of his full frequency live shows presented at the likes of Noise=Noise and Cafe Oto as well as Industria Superstudio in his native city of Milan. Reverse forms Crippa's landmark statement connecting the dots between his immersive gallery based installations and visceral performances, shedding light on one of London's most unique underground electronic artists.

The album follows hot on the heels of outstanding stand alone single 'Run Away' released on Ample Play Records last month. The KVB is the audio/visual project of London youngsters Nicholas Wood & Kat Day, who combine reverb heavy wall of sound guitars, minimal haunting strings and grinding bass synths, messed up motorik drum machine beats and delay drenched vocals with a backdrop of imagery to accompany the symphony, that's nothing short of life affirming. 'Minus One' is in fact The KVB's third album, their second full length LP 'Immaterial Visions' which came with an accompanying remix EP, featuring mixes from underground techno pioneers Regis and Silent Servant was only released in February this year. The KVB is a group with a sense of urgency about it, to do what they need to do, with full commitment and without delay. It's a tangible attitude that runs throughout 'Minus One'. Johann Rashid and Paul Harmon come together to create 'Promise Land'. A sound as difficult to define as the title - is it from a land promised to us, or a land of promises (made, kept or broken) It's hanging from the roof; dancing; chanting; running like pulsing hangovers made comfortable by a swim in the ocean. 'Promise Land' moves at a strange pace.


RECALL is the debut track, reflecting on modern day ritual. It's a good old fashioned fusion. From his journey through playing in a bunch of noisy bands, Rashid met Harmon at the disco and made this song.
