Vase continues its blooming series of stellar releases since its inception a few months ago with its boldest release to date: the Zodiac EP. This self-titled project by producer / songwriter Jeremy Rose marks a definitive episode in the young label's direction. The brain and ear behind some truly singular releases, Rose is responsible for production on The Weeknd's House of Balloons ('What You Need', 'Loft Music', 'The Party & The After-Party'), as well as 'Genesis' by Bay Area artists The Jealous Guys and the acclaimed Styrofoam Cup Session remix of Roach Gigz's 'Got Em Like.'

Luuk Graham, The Hague native drops his second release with Lowriders Recordings. After his recent remixes, a beattape and some digi releases finally the EP is ready for the public ear. The sound has grown in depth and strength. Inspired by UK Bass and UK bass and dirty south hip hop scene, he fits in the hip trap/bass culture with his more uptempo tracks but as easily links to the more head-hop in the likes off Shlohmo. His sound is very much 8bit - commodore infected blent of hip hop, skweee, bass and retro-futuristic-synth-science. The long and awaited winter warz release by Detest is now finally ready to hit the world! Next Attack E.P. by Detest is one of the most anticipated releases of 2013. Daily requests since last year December makes this a wanted artifact for everybody who got love for the underground Hardcore Drum & Bass scene.
The first release of Detest on Smackdown Recordings, hitting catalog 006 is an absolute floor banger. After many successful releases on Smackdown by artists like Hellfish, The Outside Agency, Counterstrike, COOH, Current Value, Bryan Fury and many others it's now Detest's turn to show what he's worth. And as we think we are free to say for everyone he has delivered a beauty.
Next Attack E.P. offers a combo of Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Hardcore influences all perfectly combined as one. The A side is written at 175 BPM and is easy to mix with all styles, pounding kicks, scattering drums and ruff snares provide you with the ultimate weapon in any crossover set. The B side turns things up a bit more to 190 BPM. Blasting hardcore, upsweeping vocals and power drum & bass rhythms make tunes ideal to fuck shit up during the night (in a positive way). This release is a DJ tool, must have for any artist!

The long awaited Badman VIP finally sees a vinyl release - individually numbered in silver foil and pressed on 180g.
Never being ones to rest on their laurels and constantly pushing the envelope with their productions, Kryptic Minds switch things up
again for the latest offering on their own Osiris Music UK imprint.
'Nebula' is a juddering, mechanized piece that rasps from one earth shaking kick to the next, sprinkled with dark ethereal FX and
what could be described as trademark eerie stabs. Further experimenting with the 4X4 blueprint, 'To Feel' draws suspense during a
formidable intro and then plunges down into menacing bass snarls and swaying syncopation which sit on a plateau of pristine sub
bass pressure and industrial FX. - Written by Jim Syte

TUBA is pleased to announce their latest release from Moldy. His latest 12inch, is dropping mid-March, 2013 worldwide.
Regenerate (Death of Brostep) leads the record as a stark, deep, and compelling minimal manifesto. Moldy soundly rejects the noise-oriented approach that so many producers are taking. With serious bass weight and a less-is-more-aesthetic, Regenerate (Death of Brostep) encourages discussion about the direction dubstep is taking.
Bad Habits (Brixton VIP) on the flip comes correct as a great contrast to the A side. The track runs with deep sub bass and deft Amen style breaks with great effect, ominous and dark.
Daega Sound's stunning remix of Regenerate
finishes off the record masterfully. The
reinterpretation by this Vancouver based duo
(brothers as well) puts the original in a less linear context, with a deep dancefloor in mind.
Supported by Mary Anne Hobbs, DJG, Distal, and others.

Hailing from Perth, Australia, this talented and prolific producer is no stranger to the music scene. Following his first taste of an Akai sampler to drop film samples on the intros of songs in his metal band, The Dirty Whittler, Rregula eventually found himself drawn into the world of drum and bass and formed one half of Bad Robot in 2003, a monster collaboration with future Technique and Viper superstar, Phetsta. With a number of releases on Subsonik Sound, Black Sun Empire, and Drumsound & Bassline Smith's popular Technique Recordings as Bad Robot, followed by solo projects on Vampire Records, DSCI4, Citrus Recordings, Icarus Audio, Climate Recordings, and too many others to name, Rregula has been scaling new heights with his output in the past year. Having just released an album project in 2011 on Trust In Music entitled 'Echoes From The Future' with Dementia and collaborations from the likes of Smooth, Trei and Optiv, one might think of calling it a year.. Rregula is not one of those people.

A surprise for some, but also a perfect fit, Chicago Footwork don DJ Rashad releases his Hyperdub debut after long period of admiration and support from Hyperdub artists, in DJ sets and on the Hyperdub radio show on Rinse FM. These four tracks show DJ Rashad at his unpredictable best. The EP opens with the sorrowful R&B vocal cut up of 'Rollin'. It's half time drums and layered, pitch shifted vocals give way to double time 808 kicks and hi hat rushes, building up to tense arpeggiated tones. 'Let It Go' does something else entirely different; with a nod to past UK Jungle and hardcore but gradually mutating into footwork's present, it opens with a perfect recall of early jungle's mix of 160 amen breaks, euphoric diva wails and surging, ravey strings before the drums pull away, leaving a carpet of bass tones and firing 808's, the euphoria of the track kept moving over hectic drums and a frantic piano melody. 'Drums Please' featuring DJ Manny, adds a tough rush of rolling, martial snares to the morse code of clattering toms, sweet Detroit techno chords, and a siren-like tune that breaks out into the upper register, somewhere between melody and noise. 'Broken Hearted' is more familiar territory for Rashad, this time featuring long time partner DJ Spinn. Vocal lines and synths layered and chopped to gorgeous effect with half words left echoing and punctuating the stop start rhythm of the track. The launch party for the Rollin EP is on 8th March in Fabric Room One. DJ Rashad plays alongside Kode9, Ikonika, Scratcha DVA, Cooly G, Terror Danjah and Walton on the night.

Highly impressive debut album from Brainfeeder's British ambassador. Proceeding the course of his celebrated singles for Pictures Music and remixes for everyone from AlunaGeorge to Bonobo, 'Nostalchic' casts trusted vocalists Jenna Andrews, Kerry Leatham and Astrid Williamson in a pop/R&B complex of refracted electronics and digital stumble crafted with the finickiest attention to details. We can hear the ghosts of UK 'nuum music jostling with bewitched R&B songstresses and keening cinematic synths in the magnificent 'Flower', beside the DMT-dream-pop clarity of 'Swallowing Smoke', whilst there's a psychedelic soul grit to the likes of 'Straight Over My Head' which practically beats the Americans at their own game by virtue of its close affiliations with dubstep futurism. Joints like 'Dance' with Astrid Williamson or 'One Thing' with Jenna Andrews mark up some of the finest, and genuinely "nu" soul vibes we've heard this year or last, especially the former with its breathtaking, gender-ambiguous vocal processing, while the likes of 'The Dead Sea' and 'Kelly Brook' exhibit a fascination for textural experimentation and the possibilities of sound design approaching Autechrian levels of sophistication

Jungle Juke Astrophonica conclude their three-part, experimental VIP series by inviting Machinedrum to give his own take on the
label's search for a new sound.
Clissold VIP sees the now Berlin-based, globe-trotting producer add his unique touch to Fracture & Neptune's original by taking the
track into frenetic yet hazy vibes. As with the two previous VIPs, this release pushes at the seams of established genres to deliver a
musical experience that's truly boundary breaking.
Machinedrum's own experiments with tempos and genres in recent years have put him at the forefront of a small group of producers
who are pushing things forward, alongside the likes of Om Unit who featured on the second VIP.
As with the previous two releases, Machinedrum's Clissold VIP will be available as a limited edition of 300 x 10" one-sided vinyl with 2
colour screen printed and hand numbered sleeves.
Clissold VIP was exclusively aired on Gilles Peterson's BBC 6 Music show and has since had support from Om Unit, dBridge and
Daedelus.

Butterz enters its third year of with a debut release from upcoming Flava D. She has been producing for Wiley, responsible for several tracks in his recent infamous Step Series, Boy Better Know and numerous other rising talents in the grime scene as well as balancing a healthy output of beats strictly aimed at the club, with her tracks supported by the likes of DJ EZ, Mosca, Ben UFO, T Williams and Roska. 'Hold On' is a spacious but melodic garage banger made popular via her recent appearance on the Boiler Room. Across six minutes, Flava D bridges the gap between grime and garage in a similar vein to Royal-Ts remix of TRC's 'Oo Aa Ee' in 2011. 'Home' has been been worked by the Rinse FM and 1xtra DJs for the last six months, and is a punchier 4x4 effort designed for peak time club action. This RBMA graduate clearly has a bright future ahead.

Combining and mutating the sounds of UK garage, house, jungle, dubstep and techno, Tom Edwards, Matt Benyayer and Carlo Anderson - aka Dark Sky - have most definitely found their sound. Keeping things cerebral and rolling, the trio have already released on quality imprints such as 50 Weapons, Blunted Robots, Pictures Music and Black Acre, remixed Kelis, The XX, Ben Westbeech and many more, gaining airplay and support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Modeselector and Jamie XX along the way. Tectonic is very happy to welcome Dark Sky to the fold with two killer tracks, 'Confunktion' and 'Double U'. 'Confunktion' builds from a background of subtle atmospherics, rising slowly before eventually leaping out ambush style, ready to catch you off guard, slamming straight into the action. Sculptured tech-bass sounds carve their way through the 130bpm, 4/4 rhythmic backbone, building and dropping down before re-emerging again fuller, with emotive charge. Killer dancefloor moves that cut right through typical musical boundaries. 'Double U' takes a more playful stance than the serious tones of 'Confunktion'. The rhythm builds with mischievous intent, bleeping, popping like a bongo drum full of electronic popping corn! Pounding sub bass pulls everything into order allowing the groove to swing about with cheerful swagger. Totally unique, excellent party music.

With strong showings for Black Box & Box Clever, as well as an appearance on Desto & Teeth's bleeding-edge Signal Life imprint, Helsinki-based producer LAS has cut a unique path through contemporary bass music, infusing foundation dubstep vibes with a sense of the wild natural spaces of his homeland.
*'Zaikedelic' is a 80/160bpm juked hiphop piece, with furious bongoes, filtered breaks and wild piano licks swirling around the tough b-boy roots.
*LAS goes mad deep on 'Preaching', with lo-fi atmospherics and dub sensibilities underpinned by restless bass and tough tribal halfstep.

- Lead track features platinum-selling artist Kelis, and has received excellent blog coverage to date
- Pseudovideo has 30,000 plays since its world exclusive play on Skream's recent Rinse FM show
- Exclusive stream of Copy Cat and Sticky on Skream's Soundcloud generates 36,000 plays in 24 hours
- Release date of Friday 21st December - date marketed to his key dancefloor/club-goer audience
- Impact date in Jan 2013 for 'Copy Cat' - to be supported by music video, radio plugging, wider press etc
The seventh volume of Skream's seminal Skreamizm series sees the producer not only expanding his range dramatically, but inviting a true global popstar along for the ride as well. 'Copy Cat', the lead track from this latest installment, features a near-whispered vocal by Kelis over a sensual and minimal fusion of R&B and house, driven by an anxious and bounding groove that ensures the track will remain firmly lodged within the brain upon listening.
Elsewhere, Skream takes much the same attitude he took with his recent Skreamizm tour - a means of exploring broader avenues while still remaining connected to the essence of his sound. 'Vacillate' and 'Inhumane' are both immediately recognisable as Skream's own, pairing roaring metallic dissonance with welts of sub-bass, and the deep halfstep of 'Junkyard Dispute' and 'Scrooge's Revenge' stretch back to the dread pressure of early dubstep.
Along with 'Copy Cat', 'Sticky' is another curveball that forms strong links with the techno/house driven sets he's been playing recently, and is one of the most restless and driving things he's ever put his name to. Both are potent reminders of Skream's versatility as a producer, and add up to his most varied and exploratory Skreamizm to date.

Area Recordings kicks off 2013 with this stunning 2 tracker from leading Ozzy dubstepper James '3rdeye' Lyall. Already making a name for himself with a wealth of solid releases through some of dubsteps top digital labels, and a feature on our 5th release (Area Music Volume 1). We are pleased to release his first solo 12'.
Following in true Area Recordings tradition we bring you 2 high quality cutting edge deep dubstep tunes, full of bass weight and musicality. Kicking things off with 'The Last Time I Saw You', the scene is clearly set. Taking what has been tagged as 'the dungeon sound' and pushing the boundaries with high quality technical production at the heart of a soulful dance floor meditation rhythm
combining eerie atmospherics and trade mark swing with hypnotic flutes and haunting melodies.
The flip side 'Voodoo Girl' drops with a smooth vocal and techy synth stabs, countering a lush guitar melody, sparsely used in equal measure to engross the listener. As the track builds the raw energy flows through with high quality production work. The balance
between its pulsing momentum and subtle break downs clearly encapsulate 3rdeye's solid song writing abilities not only showcasing his abilities as a top producer but also another hidden gem we present to our listeners.

Prolific Dutch producer Roel Funcken has established himself an agile, meticulous sonic craftsman whose output has consistently been as accessible as it has innovative. Most recently, he opened for Flying Lotus and Tipper during his last US tour.
As half of the group Funckarma, he has recorded for esteemed labels including Skam, Ad Noiseam, Arcola (Warp), Isophlux, Marguerita, and others.
For Mercury Retrograde, his first release on Schematic, Funken taps into textures reminiscent of the mid '90s drum n base sub genre tech step, the lush downtempo of Bristol, and Hans Zimmer's soundtrack work.
This latest release adds to the ever evolving, rich, and inspired catalog of Funcken.

After the delectable and somewhat surprising first dishes served up on the Schmorgasbord by Appleblim & October and S-Max & Spatial in 2011, the label has been slow-cooking its next wares for maximum intensity of flavour, drafting in two chefs of wild international repute shunned from the Michelin star regime and forced into renegade culinary exploits that use food (or music) as merely a vessel for their twisted science.Al Tourettes has zapped many a taste bud in his time, bastardising the fundamental ingredients of electro, funk and techno and marinating in a glutinous psychedelia as organic as it is mechanised. Previous satisfied bellies have included Apple Pips and the soundtrack to Oscar-devouring, Portman- ravaging movie par excellence Black Swan. In the near future you can expect to find Al stimulating taste buds via the new, Fabric-backed powerhouse Houndstooth.Paradroid channels his own dietary expertise from a more intergalactic source made up largely of science-fiction and tasting much like a colour you've never seen. While a taste sensation with underlying notes of house and techno can be detected, it's a flavour grossly embellished with creatine micro-samples and MSG effects trickery. Prior to preparing this dish he was largely to be found quelling the hunger pangs of such esteemed labels as Adjunct, Snork Enterprises, Orac, Force Inc. and Boogizm. On this release, both chefs collide their styles with gusto as seemingly distant approaches rub up against each other surprisingly naturally (for such unnatural initial creations).

From the label that introduced the world to Dark Sky, Blue Daisy, Romare and Alby Daniels we have the latest new rookie, feroX. The Gargoyles EP is a bad acid mix of an unhealthy 'Video Nasties' VHS tape obsession, an 808 drum machine and deft drum programming skills. feroX lays it on thick with this his warmly received Black Acre debut. Tape-hiss and analogue fuzz do their best to hold back booming 808 kicks and crunchy claps. On 'Gargoyle' a straight hypnotic 4x4 attack is the solid foundation to repetitive sinister samples. 'Critter' jumps in dubstep's grave with a lurching tribal swing and abyssal bass depth. Both intro 'goD' and outro 'Beyond' are nods to feroX psychedelic sample realm with a Hip Hop heart.* Official youtube video launch Jan 11th.* DJ Mag: 4/5 '..this is the soundtrack to a rave Leatherface just walked into; blood, guts and limbs splattered across the walls, screams in the air, as the DJ continues to play Gargoyles and Critters on repeat. Terrifyingly good."* Support : Addison Groove, Om Unit, Lefto, Commodo, Blue Daisy, Kid Kanevil.

*"UA003 Is Seven's first release on his own imprint Uprise Audio. After the extremely well received UA001 and UA002, the pressure is on for him to deliver.
After hearing 'Walter White' for the first time, it will become apparent that Seven has not only delivered with this release but also raised the bar.
*"'Walter White' is simply breathtaking. Every element of it from start to finish is perfectly crafted like a Swiss time piece, blowing the listener away with its powerful weight and dynamics.
*AA. MediEvil
*"'MediEvil' is a different species entirely. It instantly submerges the listener into a dark abyss. with haunting leads and scales captivating reinforced by intelligent beat structure. 'MediEvil' is packed full of structured bassweight and grungy mids, making it effortless to blend. UA003's flip will surely be a favourite for DJs to draw for.
*"Seven has always been know for both his quality productions and forward-thinking music, but UA003 is arguably the best addition to his back catalogue yet.
"With non-stop support from Youngsta, J:Kenzo, Ntype, Chase & Status, Skream and many other dubstep heavyweights, as well as consistent Rinse FM radio play it's safe to say Uprise Audio's latest release has cemented their position as the label to watch in 2013."

Meet Stabber, aka Stafano Tartaglini from L'Aquila, Italy. After doing nice work with LuckyBeard Records, here Stabber graces vinyl for the first time on Halo Cyan. His 'HUH!' EP is tittilating yet terrifying, a collection of razor-sharp club tracks that bring the party as much as they terrorize it. Title track 'HUH!' begins with a smattering of innocuous hi-hats and claves that quickly give way to a thick fog of Giallo-style paranoia. Voices grab your attention, leaving you to look over your shoulder before being overtaken by a wave of sinister, gleaming melodies riding twisty, mechanically precise breaks. Randomer (Hemlock, Hessle Audio) takes the original track's unnerving atmosphere and ramps up the intensity with a slamming chase scene full of subconscious whispers, pummeling snares and a relentless, strobing pulse. Matthias Zimmermann (Sound Pellegrino) closes out the A-side with a much different take on 'HUH!'; here, the sounds of the original are trapped behind a wall of icy, cascading synths being hammered away by a barrage of percussion. On the B-side, 'Chromoly' is Stabber at his most confrontational and booming, a whirlwind of sub-bass bombs and rave stabs sliced into a shape resembling (but never adhering to) trap music. Night Slugs don Girl Unit closes out the record with a seismically sub-heavy rework of 'Chromoly' that will leave any dancefloor in ruins.

2012 was a standout year for instrumental grime as a swathe of new talent emerged; re-invigorating the circuit with fresh takes on sounds that drew influence from a boundary-blurring range of genres. One of the most exciting new projects to surface was the full vinyl label Coyote Records, a carefully curated platform to showcase this new and diverse generation of talent, enlisting MistaMen's Mella Dee and 3Beat Records' TS7 on a pair of standout efforts, together with serious remix pressure from Baobinga, MA1, Mr Mitch and Walton. Now well established, Coyote have released music that melds grime flavours together with elements from House, Bassline and Funky, and for their third release they look to Sheffield-based prodigy Walter Ego to provide more fire in the form of a dangerous double A side, 'Wavey' and 'Military Mind'. Whilst running his own Bad Taste imprint and dropping bombs on top labels like Unknown To The Unknown and the Ninja Tune affiliated Girls Music, Walter Ego has been turning heads with his versatile style that exudes a distinctly UK-rooted aesthetic. This vinyl-only release features two of his most upfront grime cuts, the strength of which is illustrated by the lofty selection of DJ support received, with Elijah & Skilliam, Swindle, Royal-T, Brackles, Spooky and Plastician representing both tracks in their radio shows. 'Wavey' instills instant swing and groove, with woozy arpeggiated synths effervescing restlessly over crisp first and third beat kick snare combinations. As the track breaks, the kick patterns quicken to a gallop, punching beneath a raw poleaxing main bassline that flickers with electrical hum and buzz; vibrant dancefloor-inclined weight to energize a crowd. On the flipside, 'Military Mind' maintains the buoyant approach with this one perhaps even rowdier; hyperactive synth melodies leap around dropped blocks of bass as the crackle of pirate-radio quality snares and rhythmic touches of rave whistles dance high in the mix. Its deft production and a surefire banger that, as with 'Wavey', shines as a stand-alone instrumental as well as providing some serious ammunition for MC's to lay bars on.

LAB014 is the third installment of Aquatic Lab's releases from South London originator, Cluekid. Leading on from his recent 'After The
Storm' EP (LAB012), the 'Dolphin EP' is another display of Clue's well-heeled versatility and continual sonic growth, demonstrating
why his extensive back catalogue of work continues to carry such high regard.
As Cluekid's most sought after dubplate in recent times, the A-side, 'Dolphin', is simply a masterclass in stellar meditation.
Combining the bold sense of musicality of his previous releases with an expertly crafted arrangement, 'Dolphin' is certainly the epitome of Cluekid's turquoise excursions. This melodic cut is as densely composed as it is meticulously stunning, as a serene melody ebbs and flows effortlessly with an undeniably unique deep-blue aura.
The AA-side, 'Fossil', leans towards the mistier quadrants of Cluekid's sonic signature, readily articulating all of the melancholic nuances of his work's classic after hours vibes.
