Macabre Unit Vinyl drops it's fourth press after the tearing double A-sider from Demon and DCullt back in November, and for this one
highly acclaimed master of the dark arts Biome unleashes 3 slabs of soundsystem punishing construction. A trio of very different
tracks again prove his ability to push the boundaries in a area often oversaturated with "stale" and unoriginal ideas.
Black Widow is a Youngsta favourite, led by hypnotic, rattling drums; tribal, hard hitting and again showing Biome's versatility within
the 140 bracket. Rips and growls leap out unexpectedly from the scuttling percussion, sucking you in to listen more intently. Certainly
different, but definately infectious. Straight bass roller! Quasar creeps in tentatively; moody blips tease amongst a subterrainean
undercurrent. It swings into action, skippy and high energy with spluttering electro stabs jutting out from a pulsating, bubbling low
end. As it progresses it's shaken up by those infamous, twisted Biome edits. One for the skankers Mystery is a stripped back,
minimal affair, deadly in its precision; spacious and menacing. Serious eyes down business, perfectly poised
plodding low end, broken by mutant, contorted snarls.
A superbly rounded EP

6 tracks of dub, breaks, bass and glitch music from BALANCED RECORDS. The title cut is a "reverb drenched head-nodding dub breaks journey" followed by two of re-rubs of classic dub riddims. B/w another original cut, a remix by labelmate RICHIE PHOE and "HOW IT GO feat PROFISEE (KASM REMIX)".

This is an album sampler of Seba's forthcoming album on Secret operations. Both track have been played out by Seba himself, but also DJ's like marky and marcus intalex for the past year.
Too much too soon is a vocal track with swedissh vocalist Little Jinder. It has a slight rock/pop feel to it with rythm guitars and distorted lead guitars in the chorus.
Say you love me is a track Seba wrote after being inspired by listening to Larry "Mr fingers" Heard for some time.

After 20 superb 12' single releases over five and half years in the game, UK label, 2nd Drop, is proud to present its first compilation,
Future Foundations, featuring a mixture of established artists who have graced the label previously, alongside a handful of exciting
new acts generating some serious hype on the scene right now.
This compilation is the first of many that will bear the Future Foundations title. We have assigned each 12' with a number,
'Foundation 1, Foundation 2' and so on, viewing these chunks of superb music as the foundations of an on-going, multi-layered aural
concept that will document the rich and varied output of the label and its artists for the foreseeable future.
The compilation presents eight exclusive tracks that sleekly demonstrate the quality, variety and depth of sounds the label has come
to be known for; new sounds from familiar faces begins with the deep, lush techno/house of Youandewan, then a beautiful torch song
from LV & Dan Bowskill, followed by Pedestrian's synth-funk houser and the textured techno of Djrum, terminating with a creeping
leviathan from South London Ordnance.
The first artist making his debut on 2nd Drop is Manchester's Alex Coulton with his stuttering techno machinations, followed swiftly
by Last Magpie who presents a superb number that shifts, skanks and weaves throughout, frantically culminating in the balls-out juke
of Brighton's Manni Dee & Deft.
And finally, we wanted the artwork to be something special, timeless and iconic. We were lucky enough to stumble across the bold
abstractions of Adam Daily, an artist from Philadelphia, who now lives in New York State and exhibits frequently and widely. Adam
likes to produce big, bold and beautiful pieces, bursting with colour and vibrancy, working big geometric shapes via painting,

Osiris Music uk's latest release comes from Killawatt, who steps up to deliver a jarring pair of tracks which further blur the boundaries
of techno and bass music. Counting the likes of Amon Tobin, Eskmo, Marcell Dettman, Regis and Mika Vainio as his influences,
Killawatt never allows his production concepts to stagnate the increasing techno-hybrid presence in his beats.
Kicking off with 'Press On', a 4x4 backbone propels the tune with assistance from a sonically punishing kick and bass stabs. It's a
largely percussive affair which should please fans of techno as well as bass music heads. Don't let the intro of the flip 'Tantra' fool
you - the dreamy, floating intro soon makes way for an intense bassline and tribal percussion.
Killawatt's music has been supported by the likes of Skream and Benga on BBC Radio 1, J:Kenzo on 1xtra, Hatcha on Kiss FM as
well as Mala, Joe Nice, Youngsta, Distance and N-Type on their legendary Rinse FM segments. He's also a busy DJ, gracing the

Project: Mooncircle & Finest Ego have teamed up to establish a fresh new 12' producer series, entitled 'Faces'. On every edition, you will find two different producers. Respectively, each producer will have their own record-side and unique cover artwork by the aspiring Bioniq, known for his surrealistic portraits, blending humans and technology. On the fourth 'Faces' edition we are featuring the two ascending artists Lomovolokno and Sieren, presumably the two most unknown so far.

The new EP features the intoxicatingly beautiful album opener "The Birds" in its original version and in two remixes that could hardly be more contrasting: BPC label boss Ellen Allien spontaneously blows away the sombre fog clouds of the original with a crisp house beat and vibrant acid sequences. Ghostly International co-founder and self-confessed Brian Eno fan Matthew Dear has already revealed his distinct fondness for sinister soundscapes on his own album Black City and his remixes for The Chemical Brothers, The XX and The Drums.

Tangent is an electronic music project which combines electronics with acoustic instruments in a highly contrasting manner.

The debut album '1 mk 2' has just been finished and Tangent is proud to release this on Mindtrick records.

'1 mk 2' is inspired by the birth of our universe with all its violence and beauty.

The music takes the audience on a journey through sonic fields that never seem to end. Matter is formed and collapsed at the same time, while a new universe is created on the ashes of a previous one, like '1 mk 2' is based upon Tangent's promo '1'.

Always searching for the best quality of music, Tangent constantly pushes the boundaries of sound and music. Tangent is still finding new and creative ways of working with sound within the field of electronic music.

The first release on Project Squared in a year, 'Make Your Mess' is a three track EP by Melbourne's Craig McWhinney. Craig has been making music for years and releasing since the late 2000s on Melbourne labels such as Pinksilver, Melbourne Deepcast and his own Haul Music; also on labels based further afield such as Brendon Moeller's Steadfast and Speedy J's Electric Deluxe.Craig's music is Techno, but it isn't preoccupied with the 4/4, employing broken, swung and rolling drum patterns. His tracks often include melodic and harmonic elements and effects reminiscent of Dub Techno but without conforming to the pastiche template of the sub-genre.The Make Your Mess EP is composed of the core title track and two additional tracks that arose as interpretations and variations on the initial production: 'Provocation Is An Excuse' is more furious and loud, 'Disengage' is more restrained. All three are around 125 bpm and were produced in the space of a month between September and October 2012.

*The mysterious Nomine's debut 12" for Tempa takes dubstep into altogether more tropical territories. The fluid textures and east Asian melodies of its two tracks conjure up images of a future London fried by global warming, where rising sea levels are sinking the city below the waves.
*'Searching' opens with chimes like drops falling on water, before being consumed by an oily sea of sub-bass. Metallic, syncopated percussion slides across the surface, propelling the track forward. On 'Nomine's Sound' the bass lands in pulses, building in intensity before falling away again, while disembodied voices sing in the distance.

*Although only having previously released his debut, the Jahpan EP via Dubzilla Recordings, in June this year, Nomine's tracks have swiftly become staples in the record bags of scene figureheads like Youngsta and J. Kenzo. It's not hard to tell why: although they're ethereal and drenched in melody, there's a physical pressure to these tracks that's primed to swallow a dancefloor whole. With this uncanny ability to balance melody and space with club dynamics, expect to hear much more of Nomine's name in the near future.

Hailing from the Belgian capital of Brussels, Squeaky Lobster is known to his mother as Laurent and used to play bass in rock and jazz bands. Nowadays however you're more likely to find him pushing buttons on stage ensuring the system in turn pumps out his heady concoctions of chest-pummel- ling bass and skittering beats. Mind you having said that he can still be found playing bass in the band South of No North, who have released an album on Belgian label Humpty Dump- ty. Squeaky Lobster keeps things close to home having released all his material on another Belgian label, Vlek records, also based in Brussels. It is in fact on Vlek that Squeaky Lobster took flight (huhu, flying lobster) first with a split 7" along- side Russian producer Lapti - AMAI #2/4 - and in 2011 with a solo 10" release titled Will-O-The-Wisp EP.

The next release on UK imprint LNUK sees London producer Boxwork step up for his debut full release, a self-titled 4 track EP. Relatively unheard of until he gained early support from Rinse FM's Seb Chew and Mary Anne Hobbs on her landmark XFM show, the elusive Boxwork has been quietly gaining admirers since both started playing his music and invited him to record guest mixes for their shows last year.
A number of well received remixes followed, including for Greenmoney featuring Terri Walker, and a remix for Py & George Fitzgerald's 'Lungs' for her 'Tripping on Wisdom' Mixtape. 2012 saw him close out the year with a free release on Kerri Chandler's Madtech imprint alongside Cloaka, the tough as nails 'Toppin Up'. The Boxwork EP showcases the full range of the producer's talents. Across varying tempos Boxwork's unique sense of percussion and rhythm is bolstered by bass heavy grooves and clever sampling, a nod to his stated hip hop and soul influences. Four cuts of uncompromising dance floor music that work just as well in the headphones, The Boxwork EP announces the arrival of this young producer to the world with serious intent. Support from Hackman, South London Ordnance, Visionist, Jon Rust (Standard Place), Mary Anne Hobbs.

erverse have been New Zealand's finest bass exports since the all-conquering Truth crew, and the staggering quality of their smoked out, eyes down dubstep beats is a reflection of the breadth of new talent to be found lurking on Kiwi shores. One NZ based label has also come to the forefront in 2012 with a clutch of razor sharp releases and it's only right that Innamind Recordings' inaugural vinyl release features a link up with the Perverse lads; an exclusively home-grown affair delivering two of the freshest cuts of sub-frequency superiority to hit the shelves this year.IMRV001 features a pair of equally devastating explorations of space, bass and weight. In a break from the norm, the A side Cross Examination features the distinctive lyrical deviance of the Hench recordings affiliated Beezy, whose cold and calculated vocal projections ride sinisterly above cavernous waves of taut subs. As Beezy's verses interweave with the darting, sparse drum incisions, you get drawn deeper and deeper into a bass-induced stupor; hypnotising stuff and the highest of production values.On the flip, Perverse have concocted a technoid stepper as dark as its namesake, Obsidian, which pulses malevolently with rapid fire salvos of staccato kick drums dictating the track's movement and direction. Contorted swirls of cinematic ambience and jagged synths create an all-enveloping soundscape, underpinned by a pulsing bass element designed to push a soundsystem's low end response to the limit.
It's a certified banger of a debut release and has garnered DJ support from various scene luminaries including Youngsta, Kryptic Minds, Cyrus, Biome and J:Kenzo.

Following the hugely successful independent release of 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites', electronic visionary, Skrillex, released his follow up EP, 'More Monsters and Sprites' through Big Beat/Asylum Records. It is now available for the first time on 12 vinyl.

Starkey's 3rd studio album Orbits album out 26th Nov includes Command single, out 12th Nov Orbits is the latest thrilling installment in Starkey's 'street bass' odyssey. The Philly producer draws on grime, hip-hop, electro, bass music and beyond to blast off with his most accomplished and fully realized album yet. Starkey's intricately crafted, sci-fi inspired tracks escape the intro-drop-breakdown-drop formula of most dance music thanks to a more expansive, ambitious approach. Epic opener Renegade Starship paves the way for the heavy-hitting Command, which, along with remixes by Plastician, Drums Of Death and others, will be released as a lead single. The album continues to straddle straight club tracks (see The Shuttle, Dystopia) and more ambient offerings (Crashing Sphere, Synchronize) throughout. Huge drums, Southern rap style high hats and Vangelis-like fizzing synths are deployed to dramatic effect, and the energy and aggression of grime pervade the record. Starkey - real name Paul Geissinger, and PJ to friends - has carved out a unique space in electronic music. His explorations in the unnamed airspace between grime and dubstep have earned respect from both camps, despite them being predominately British pursuits and Starkey being an American outsider whose music isn't solely confined to either genre. Starkey released his debut album 2008s 'Ephemeral Exhibits' and this sophomore, 2010s 'Ear Drums and Black Holes', on the Planet Mu Label. Both received critical acclaim and showcased his unique take on Grime and Bass music. He subsequently released the 'Space Traitor' series (Vol.1 & Vol.2) on Civil Music and his genre spanning 'Open the Pod Bay Doors EP' on Ninja Tune. Starkey's music brims with big synths and bigger drums. Hard-edged hip-hop and scything bass mix, at times, mix with almost classical compositions and element, but it's Grime that remains at the forefront of his sound, ever more so on 'Orbits'Since his last album Starkey has been doing production work for Tinie Tempah and Foreign Beggars, worked with Kosheen's Sian Evans, collaborated with Pop princess Charli XCX on single 'Lost in Space' and released several collaborations with one time Roll Deep member Trim. Album track and lead single 'Command' also gets the Trim treatment appearing as 'Light Years' featuring on the MC's collaboration release with Roachee, 'The Nangesst EP' which is out now. P Money, Badness, Durrty Goodz, Kozzie and Merky Ace have also manned the mics for Starkey on releases for 'No Hats No Hoods' & 'Keysound' amongst others. Stunning debut album from Basic Soul Unit (Non Plus, Mathematics, Creme Organization)

Every so often a producer comes through and changes the game a little; crafting new dimensions and sonic pathways within sounds that leave them operating in a league of their own when it comes to originality. For many within Dubstep circles, from DJs and
producers to the listeners and heads on the dancefloor at the receiving end of his sub-driven beats, Gantz is that breath of fresh air with the inherent creative instinct to deviate from the same played-out formulas and boilerplates. Meticulously assembling tracks from his lab in Istanbul, Gantz gains heightened prominence with each release and this February sees him return to Innamind Recordings to further stake his claim as one of the circuit's most engaging talents.
A label progressing on a similarly meteoric trajectory to Gantz, Innamind were perhaps one of the most successful emergent imprints of 2012, providing a platform for an exciting stable of like-minded artists to release music with real longevity, culminating with a pair of full vinyl transmissions from Kiwi dons Perverse and latterly Catacombs. Forging the perfect partnership, Gantz and Innamind team
up for the label's third vinyl instalment featuring 'Siyam' and 'Enso', a killer double header that will assault soundsystems from London to Christchurch, forming a statement of intent for the quality in store this year. As with many of Gantz's productions, focus is
