Although Robot Koch has an international reputation as being 'One of Europe`s finest
producers of the beat generation' (Low End Theory), he is much more than just a beatmaker.
Hailing from Berlin, Robot Koch released three albums and 2 EPs since 2009 (on Project
Mooncircle) and toured internationally, playing shows and festivals in the US and all over
Europe. Koch (who was at the Red Bull Music Academy all the way back in 99) is also the
mastermind behind the critically acclaimed band Jahcoozi (BPitch Control) and works as a
producer and composer for both indie and major artists worldwide.
Now he is back in the studio, working on his 4th studio full length, which will be his first majorlabel
release (Four Music/Sony Music Germany). Robot Koch collaborates again with vocalist
John LaMonica (featured on Robot's last album The Other Side released on Project
Mooncircle). The concept of the album is slightly different to his early works. It's a new project
entitled 'Robots Don't Sleep', a band project that takes the songwriting and melody-focus of
Koch`s last album 'The Other Side' to a next level and focuses on vocal tracks entirely.

Kode9 drops his first single in two years. 'Xingfu Lu' is a kind of musical puzzle. Named after a Shanghai street where it was started, it's intense, wrapping angular chords that are simultaneously ecstatic and brutal around a structure that contracts and dilates, switching from double time hats and kicks to half time hip hop speed. It sounds strangely faster than it's 150 bpm as well, building ugly chord structures into strange shapes. 'Kan's strange, almost 3D structure combines clinking glass and pouring drink with a rhythm track alternating between skittering triplets and bouncy dancehall-style drums, half speed bass drops and spirals of glassy high-hats, every eight bars punctuated with Trap-style tuned snares. Relentless chords stab at the centre, holding it's unstable structure in place.

* Dubstep veteran Cluekid needs little introduction. His best work infuses 140bpm beats with the DNA of jungle, incorporating a rhythmic flexibility and ubiquitous bassweight with a largely organic sound, making his music a perfect fit for Box Clever.
* 'Spider Monkey' was first broken by US dubstep ambassador Joe Nice, with its rolling soca-laced riddims and pounding subs a regular feature of his live sets and radio shows. A second drop switchup adds a touch of midrange for full dancefloor activation.
* 'Rainy Street Light' finds Clue in more reflective mood - mixing shimmering pads from '92 with stand-up bass, sweet piano licks and touches of melodica for a soulful late-night excursion.

Split release of the two Dutch labels Shipwrec and Fremdtunes, casting off for uncharted waters, setting sail to proudly introduce a fresh new name to their ever expanding roster. Julian Edwardes is a Dutch artist that bends the limitations of Hip Hop and Bass Music, his first outing on vinyl takes elements of these sounds and twists them into a new form. The title track judders and shakes into life with a controlled tempo adding gravity to the mix. Sombre notes drop to create a melancholic muscular beast. The flip sees E.R.P. aka Gerard Hanson aka Convextion flying in from Texas on remix duty. Hanson weaves his magic, a lush melody of IDM depth descends to elevate this remix into something sublime. 'Shoulda Rolla' is the product of an almighty collaboration between Tectonic head honcho Pinch and Rinse FM's very own tribal roller, Roska. Returning to the studio together as a follow up session to 2010's 'Paranormal Activity' (as featured on TEC048) the pair have come up with something that sounds both familiar and fresh in equal measures - revitalising many ghosts of grime and dubstep past with brain bending atmospherics, precision drum programming and a full enaging tribal momentum. Flip then for the deadly 'Asbestos' which continues in the vibe of Roska's recent Tectonic output; 'Blurry', 'Spearhead' and '480 BC'. Taking on his 140bpm stance, Roska flips the dubstep / half-step script on its head - instead opting for rapid, meticulous drum programming and charging pace. Packed with enough sub bass weight to shake a sound system to pieces and a demented mid range sound that emulates a enraged robotic elephant, 'Asbestos' is one for the deeper heads who like to move their feet.

*MC-turned-producer extraordinaire SP:MC has announced his most expansive release to date, the four-track Declassified EP, which will be released through Tempa on (DATE). SP:MC has a rich and varied history in bass-driven UK music. He started off as a drum & bass MC working with labels such as Shogun Audio, Exit and Autonomic. Later he began producing both minimalist drum & bass and dubstep tracks, has released some of Tempa's best loved 12"s to date, and has collaborated with with Breakage, Verse, Youngsta and LX One, among others.All those foundational experiences can be heard in his approach to dubstep, which blends the futuristic impulses and perpetual motion of drum & bass and Detroit techno with dubstep's intense focus on sculpted low-end pressure. Sci-fi signifiers are everywhere on the Declassified 12", making for a dark and dystopian listen: the title track and 'Launch Code' meld chrome-plated percussion and spacecraft engine roar to rhythmic sub-bass, and 'Air Lock' matches its name, its gaseous hiss and lurching percussion evoking sensations of being plunged into zero-gravity. The package is rounded off with 'Kenshin', a fearsome collaboration with dubstep figurehead Youngsta. Possibly the starkest and frostiest thing either has put their name to, it's driven by jungle-ish bounding sub-bass, which leaps wildly around the track's spring-loaded rhythms. The result is a formidable EP that shows off the power and intensity of the sound that SP:MC has gradually been honing over the past few years.

Arkist (aka Adam Gazla) hails from Bristol and stands at the forefront of a new breed of UK producers bringing fresh injections of techno, house, and dubstep into the realm of club music. He has released records on labels such as Hot Flush, Apple Pips, DecaRhythm and Immerse. Now, on his 'Never Forgotten' EP for Halocyan, Arkist continues the evolution of his sound with a powerful collection tracks, featuring contributions from Appleblim and Komon (aka Komonazmuk). First track 'Addict' is a twitchy, jacking number featuring the unparalled selector and beatmaker Appleblim. On his remix, Komon (also known as Komonazmuk) dials the tempo down a notch, laying his synth wizardy over an irresistible house groove. B-side '23 Summers' is an anthemic slice of shredded vocal samples, percolating synths and triumphant pads over a shuffling, infectious beat. EP closer 'Iron Oxide' is the Halocyan equivalent of a chillout track, a necessary comedown from the explosive one-two punch of the record's A-side. Dark and mysterious, it leaves the listener in a state of reflection.

Quantum Soul and Innamind are proud to present their most ambitious project yet: Quantum Soul vs Lamb - Strong Root, backed
with the QS original 'Rolling Thunder'. After enlisting the mercurial talents of Gantz for their devastating third wax edition, Innamind
have searched high and low for something special as a follow up, and found seasoned bass scientist Guy Chambers a.k.a Quantum
Soul to provide the fire for IMRV004. Guy is a true musician, with the ability to not only craft soundsystem punishing low-frequencies,
but to also imbue his beats with real depth, emotion and clarity. The QS discography dates way back to 2007, having released on
seminal imprints such as Ranking Records, Dubting, Box Clever (with Cymatic) and Dubbed Out. Whilst the heavy dub-influence in
his production has always been apparent, Guy remains one of the most versatile producers around, with his armoury also including
his harder-edged subsonic firepower supported by the likes of Youngsta, and a kaleidoscopic range of exploratory, more
experimental sounds.
The pioneering UK group Lamb (composed of producer Andy Barlow and vocalist Lou Rhodes) are one of the gems of underground
British music. Responsible for some of the most powerful and emotive tracks of a generation, they had a profound effect on
Chambers during his formative musical years. Guy found particular inspiration in the grace, impact and metaphysical poetry of Lou's
soul-chilling vocal performances and it is with her melody from 'Strong The Root' (from the group's 2011 studio album '5') that this
release's lead track has been created. It is with the blessing from Lamb themselves that this release has been made possible.
Drawing together elements which complement the nuances of Lou's vocal, QS builds almost tangible levels of tension in his own
inimitable style, detailing pattering hi-hats over stuttering kicks and misty ambience. As the track breaks, a wall of suffocating sub-
pressure is released beneath Lou's enchanting voice, providing raw impact and sheer bassweight to underpin the beauty of the
harmonies, whilst at the same time referencing the lyrics directly. It's one of the first times Chambers has worked with a voice so
integral to a track, and it has resulted in what is undoubtedly one of his finest works to date. As a counter to the introspective,
meditative vibe on 'Strong Root', QS lets loose a little with the brute force and energy of 'Rolling Thunder'. The track is dominated by
the off-beat pulse of ridiculously punchy kicks, and low-end frequencies rumble ominously beneath jagged flashes of mid-range snarl
to form a leftfield club-stomper with plenty of bite. The final product is another engaging transmission from Innamind, as they deliver a
pair of serious tracks from a producer at the top of his game.

After a long period of rest, Destpub returns in the game. Used to cain dancefloors with hard and heavy dubstep, the french label is bringing out its 11th output on the footwork vibe. New orientation came up after discovering those tracks made respectivly by Pushy and Son of a Pitch. Surprised and pleased by the atmosphear and rhythm of their music, the label thought it was the right time to hit back wax...

Delete - Is the alias of a Russian producer who makes experimental electronic music which can be described as something between ambient, dubstep & future garage. In his tracks he refers to the country's past Soviet history: music, movies, newsreel footage - all of this finds its reflection in Delete's music, which allows him to discern his self from other producers, working in a similar direction. Delete tunes are often played by Clubroot, DFRNT, Nocow, Solitude. His long awaited debut album will be released on Red 12'' vinyl which comes with the full album on cd and a code to download all the tracks digitally. The Vinyl has two extra remixes which are not included on the cd. These remixes are made by DFRNT and VVV which are both well accomplished producers in the genre.

Fresh from the release of his debut solo 12", Destruction/Poseidon, dubstep scene figurehead Youngsta returns with a two-track 12" through Rinse in collaboration with fellow heavyweight LX ONE.Youngsta should need little introduction by now: he's been representing dubstep on Rinse FM and as a resident at FWD>> since its earliest days, as well as mixing one of the most acclaimed titles in the Dubstep Allstars mix series. LX ONE, meanwhile, has released a string of fierce records through labels like Tempa and N-Type's Wheel & Deal, and has collaborated with the likes of SP:MC and Icicle.Together, LX ONE and Youngsta have created some of the leanest and deadliest tracks in the Tempa back catalogue. Even by the stripped-back standards of most contemporary dubstep, 'Responsibility' stands as an exceptionally minimalist cut: little more than metallic percussion, flickering dub chords and a hulking bassline that tears through the mix like a wrecking ball. On the flip, 'No Cure' heads off on a techno-leaning flex, matching plunging subs with rolling percussion, offering an entirely more propulsive companion the A-side's crushing weight.

Exploring a strange ecosystem balanced with equal parts Tech-Noir and Adriatic light, Rainbow Arabia land on a new world with their second full-length album FM Sushi. Vaporous FM-synthesized melodies streak across the planet's neon sky, disintegrating into it's plush, hypnotic atmospheres. Two musical vectors simultaneously approach 1985 and 2025, intersecting briefly in the present. Ê Ê With the addition of Dylan Ryan (Icy Demons, Cursive, Herculaneum, Michael Columbia), they have another force contributing to the evolution of their sound. Ryan's drive on tracks like "River's Edge" and "Three Moons" posses a spellbinding motion where the listener is engaged by the rhythm; pushed, pulled, and pleased by cymbals, dropped into the mix like stones skipping over a still, mirror-like lake with treated delicate ambience. Amens on Night Slugs OG Grime producer P Jam serves up a curveball on the latest instalment of the White Label series.

Known for seminal beats such as "Anger Management" and "Real", P Jam's old skool productions were right among the canon that influenced Night Slugs so much in the days before we were Night Slugs.

Recently P Jam has been developing a unique production style that incorporates intricately edited hardcore breaks into an updated grime sensibility. A style that is ingeniously deployed on the A side of this 12" - a sub-heavy 2013 jungle 'cover' of a certain very famous Frankie Knuckles production - which is a concept that's just too perfect for the NSWL series. And it's built solid and razor sharp. Ecstasy guaranteed on this one!

On the flip is a bonus cut, another 'cover' of the same track, but this time the breaks, rolling sub and conceptual rave domination are stripped away, creating a skeletal dub version. The icy 808 drums lets the Frankie's sweet melody breathe until a nasty squarewave bass cuts the track in half.

Following the first release on my LIT label is from the quite brilliantly named; Bebop & Rocksteady. This might be a new name to some but the guys behnd this project are lukes anger & Ben Mallott.
After playing Catalunya throughout the year i felt this tune needed to see a release, its just so f***ing good. Its response on the dancefloor was devastating. Anyone who has seen me dj recently would remember this one in my set , it gets a massive reaction once that drop comes in. I'll still be playing this all year, a proper slice of good wonky techno.

DJ Madd's entrenched passion for roots music has led to many of his productions over the last five years exhibiting strong creative
influence from the genre. Perhaps most notably on the acclaimed and increasingly rare 'WAR' white label series, Madd melded
together timeless, sun-drenched dubby vibes with the harder-edged bite and suffocating bass pressure of dubstep; a perfect fusion
of styles that has stood the test of time. As a continuation of his dedication to the hybrid sound, this spring sees the inauguration of
his brand new imprint, 'Roots & Future', a label established to deliver the freshest cuts of reggae-flavoured dubstep on full vinyl and
digital release. Madd himself is set to kick off proceedings with 001 featuring two original beats created specifically for the project.
Encapsulating pulsing dancefloor energy and a vibrant sonic palette, the A side 'Never 2 Late' features Japanese vocalist G.Rina, with
her playful melodies intertwining with rich brass fanfares and dread-weight basslines. On the flipside 'Murder Dub', crisp halfstep
rhythms swing below driving saxophone riffs before escalating into a full-blown skanker, punctuated with off-beat chords and a
healthy application of sub frequencies. Due to land late March/ early April on manila sleeved 12' plates, these heavyweight tracks
signal an exciting start for Roots & Future, with plenty more of the best in reggae- infused dubstep music on the horizon.

Paris is back and it's no longer pumping to the filtered sound of disco house. Instead, a '90s generation have come of age born into the monochromatic shadow of Mathieu Kassovitz's classic film, La Haine. A world of internal tensions cracking the ground for new shoots to appear from a vibrant street culture that's en Seine in the membrane, raised as much on global bass and hip- hop's freakiest mutations as the distant orbit of Chicago and Detroit.
You can hear it in the music of ClekClekBoom, the Paris-based label which began in 2007 as a website releasing baile funk from Rio's favelas but now serves up its own home-grown ghetto grooves. Built around a core of twenty-something DJs and producers, spearheaded by French Fries (who runs the label alongside Ministre X and The Boo), their youthful energy has forged boundary breaking ambitions. And as ClekClekBoom Recordings reaches its first birthday at the start of 2013, its dedication to quality and longevity is evident in a commitment to vinyl, alongside digital, releases, a box fresh aesthetic courtesy of artistic director The Boo, their fortnightly Boomcast show, attracting....

*In a world where the genre has become ever more standardised and the rules are rarely broken, along comes a track which harks back to the early days if dubstep when experimentation was commonplace.
*Scene stalwarts in their native British Columbia, brothers and production partnership Daega Sound have taken the dubstep template and injected into it a fusion mix of electronic music DNA - 'State Of Mind' draws as much on 90s hardcore as it does techno, D&B and electro. Rushing synths introduce the track, building pressure before the sudden zero-g inertia drop of driving percussive movement and sub undulation.
*Daega Sound cover slightly more conventional territory on the flip with 'Fox Wing', drenching strident halfstep in thick layers of techy reverbed texture.

'Airmiles' is the track that helped Swindle enter the electronic music scene back in 2010. Given its name by Elijah on a Rinse FM radio show, and later released on 12' by Planet Mu, it has remained a center piece of his and the rest of the Butterz crew's DJ sets ever since it emerged. This redesign was inspired by the London residency the label has at super club Cable they have held since 2011. At the November event Swindle broke out a synth mid set and started playing on his early Butterz release 'Mood Swings'. 'Airmiles' was screaming out for the same treatment and after high profile releases on Deep Medi with 'Do The Jazz' and 'Forest Funk', Swindle has revisited 'Airmiles' to give it a bigger sound. The outro is a perfect balance between high energy club music and jazzy instrumentation. Only available on this limited one-sided vinyl pressing.

The seventh release on Copenhagen's Teal Recordings is a little hint of what can be expected from Beastie Respond first full length album. The A-side on the EP is a collaboration between Beastie Respond and the anonymous singer Alia Fresco. The lush and soulful vibes makes this song a worthy successor to Beastie Respond's debut release Syncopy. This track has received frequent radio airplay in Denmark as well as Londons Rinse.fm including dj-support from the likes of dBridge, Loxy and Blocks. The B-side features the dusty dnb track 'UL90 and the melodic 'Jetliner' exclusively featured on this sampler. Essential release.

Biome and Deep Heads have been on top form of late and this single shows us exactly why the label and the mighty Biome are blowing up in such a big way. 'Light' is a breaky, rolling production with an abundance of sub low beauty. On the flip 'Havana' gets the Biome VIP treatment that gives this Deep Heads classic a new, fresh feeling that is simply a joy on the ear drums.Lastly on the B2 cut, 'Nightscape' hears Biome go down that dark and tribal road that so many of us are a custom to. All in all a smashing 12!Support comes from the usual suspects: N-Type, Hatcha, Kryptic Minds, Synkro, Indigo, Killawatt, Ipman to name a few.
